Yes! I'll be rereading and watching out for the continuation.
Congratulations!
I support this part full on.I'm interested in how the war plot resolves and how higher tech levels stand up to the reapers. Aka plot.
That's pretty much the whole point of the quest in my eyes. I get interested in tech when I see how people react to it, not by numbers getting bigger.
What really drew me in was the outside-the-box problem solving being applied to, well everything really. Applying real-world science and engineering concepts to Mass Effect physics, and vice versa, to solve problems. Using business administration and industrial engineering concepts to solve military problems. Going outside the traditional "hero" paradigm to create a more dynamic plot.I also invite you to do a reread with me, and tell me what you like about the quest. This is actually really important. Are you here for the tech progression, the plot, the characters, the business decisions? Something else? Please tell me. It'll be quite helpful to me. And if you have issues or concerns, then do voice them.
So, two months are up, my thesis is done (and thank the gods for that), and my noses is only running a little. Time to talk about the quest.
I said I'd be up for QMing it. I'll spent the next bit or so rereading the quest, trying to grok the mechanics, talking to the other QMs, and so on. Dunno how long that'll take, but I'd say at least two weeks.

As a rule of thumb I would guess that most people are here for the ability to effect a change on the ME universe. I personally am here because I find the fact that two different soft sci-fi settings are being hammered into a single hard one, and I like the world building and sciences that fall out, so... Yog mostly, I guess. I also used to enjoy the discussion and the decision making process but life marches on and over the last couple of updates I haven't had the time to keep up with the thread. So, two months are up, my thesis is done (and thank the gods for that), and my noses is only running a little. But Revy doesn't personally get involved in military adventures? She got involved this last quarter because the Batarians invaded her home (and as a somewhat unsubtle nod to the fact that Mindoir has made itself a rather juicy target for any anti-Human aggression), but she specifically doesn't go out with her PMC; she has people for that.I liked researching and securing contracts. I am not a big fan of the whole.direct assault and personal events otherwise. I think the private army and military adventures was a mistake.
I think it's be cool to be more hands off. Revy as more a tech and business person who doesn't directly fight or directly implement her stuff. She has people for that or she makes contacts that she sends stuff to.
Yeah, logically speaking, Tony wasted his time as superhero. He was Iron Man for very personal reasons. But Revy doesn't personally get involved in military adventures? That said, having a robust infrastructure to catch industrial spies and invasions is just part of how life has to be for the richest human ever; otherwise the story would get kind of monotonous, so I'm not all that disappointed that Hoyr kept sending things Revy's way that she had to handle personally.
Giant robots are impractical, unless they can use giant scale biotics.Look at my avatar, now look at the first of my sigs. Now back to me. Look down at my sigs again. I'll soon have to edit the current QM for the Shepard Quest, but nothing else. Now back to me. Did I know this was coming for sure? No, but I sure as hell hoped that it would be so. At the sig again. Can @BurnNote become the same kind of QM as Hoyr, or those before Hoyr? No, but this is because they are a different person, so there is possibility they might be even better. They'll most certainly bring their own flavor to this quest. Now at my avatar again. What do I wish from this quest? To DIRECT CONTROL THE REAPERS, then start working down the rest of my wishlist (to be released on a later date).
I'm on a giant robot, punching a Reaper.
On a more serious note than my previous post, I'm also not much into giant robots for this quest. Really, if I had to pick my favorite area of focus, it would be the medical and cybernetic tech tree branches, with a flavoring of transhumanism.Giant robots are impractical, unless they can use giant scale biotics.
PI tech is always practical, aside of some odd prototypes.
On the other hand we need cheaper missiles and more durable, yet still cost efficient drones.
ParSec consumes them in an alarming rate. I want their mission to be at least financially neutral.
