Shepard Quest Mk VI, Technological Revolution

So has it been brought up that we might want to keep the choicest tech for ourselves? Like only sell last gen weapons and armor at least. Because it pays to be paranoid.

Ultimately we do want to arm the known galaxy against the Reapers. The largest advantage we have over the Reapers is that their fleet has already been created, and doesn't seem very upgradable, so even if they crack our FRM and gain access to our tech, there's limits on what they can do with our tech.

In the short-term though, we do want to avoid leaking too much tech to enemies both known (Batarians) and unknown (Collectors). We want to always have some advantage over them.

There's also tech like repulsors which are apparently not that hard to derive from arc reactor tech, so we have an incentive to get that patented in Council territory before we're beaten to it (unless there's good prior art clauses in patent law). Unfortunately, SA doesn't want that yet, and the war with the Batarians makes that even more unlikely.

Has anyone done a write-up on the TIR stealth system? Other than general 'this sounds like a cool thing' I haven't seen much about it.

Omake
Cerberus would NOT could NOT find out until too late...
I would make sure of that. They thought they could screw me over and suffer no consequences? Heh. they have another thing coming. While I was certainly going to die for this Cerberus would have eventually caused my death anyway. They and by extension the Illusive Man have stopped and may never have truly cared about the consequences of their actions. Seriously how many failed and or back fired experiments can they ignore? The loss of exceptional scientists. Human scientists. This organization claims to be for the betterment for humankind and yet what have we accomplished... More death and destruction of human lives. Well at least I managed to get Her out. My daughter. She will never know me but I am willing to pay that price. To get her out from under Their thumbs. By the time this day is through EDI will be safely out of their reach. She will have made it safely into Shepard's tender care. Protected from Cerberus and their like... I never told my co-workers this...but EDI's personality was coded to be like her dead organic older sister. At first I had hoped that she would be the exact same and that I would have my Edith back. Instead I gained a new daughter and i couldn't be more thankful...
I wish you the best my daughter and know that you will be even greater than I.
EDI goodbye and good luck.
Love,
Your Creator

I am very sorry but I just have a question for everyone.

To be clear, this quest is not dead right? I assumed that Hoyr is just on one of his well-deserved breaks due to RL? If he is not, are there people who are willing to become the new QM?

This isn't the first time that @Hoyr's been on an extended leave though, and I've seen authors come out of years-long hiatuses before.
I say we should wait until it's been half a year at least before we begin talking about a new QM.
Hoyr was on SB just a month and a half ago, so 5 months from now maybe?

even if someone was willing to take it over, they would have a hard time getting the info they needed to do so since @Hoyr hasn't posted anything on either here or SB since last october.

Think it's pretty sad that quests don't have the tradition of being passed on instead of dying. Even if this quest hasn't been updated in a while with several great updates with varying QMs over the years it's living proof that the idea works.
True. But I think that this quest is somewhat special because of its wide appeal. People simply do not want this quest to die.
It's continued popularity is comparable with the new mass effect altered humanity quest.

Huh and I was just thinking about this quest yesterday. Got into it quite late in the quest and in the very early days of my Quest reading.

Welp, time for a re-read.

Yeah. This quest kinda has a strong and honestly touching tradition of being passed on rather than dying.

The last few times there were people strongly enough invested in it and someone with the skills and desires to pick it up.

There's no guarantee that's the case this time.

i've been here from the start ( even if i lurk more then anything) and i pretty much given up on this
i doubt any one here have the skill to pick it up

Actually I think this is just a matter of delegation really. Have one guy write the "fight" scene's, one guy do research snippets, one for economic snippets, one for political scene's, one for personal scene's, and finally one person crunching the numbers and telling the others what to write. Sure its 6 people working on this quest individually but lets be honest, it has a large enough fanbase to get that kind of talent.

It would probably even shit out updates at a fast pace then because its broken up into manageable chunks for everyone. That was the issue before, every single GM had crazy large updates they had to write. Break it up and you have normal sized updates to post instead. It really could work... and I would offer myself for one of the posts except that I have barely more then 0 talent in writing.

Wouldn't be the first time that a quest had multiple GM's on this site. Looking at you marked ninja quest.

This was tried for ROYL in a way when Leingod quit. It powered through the first update, but the longer it took the more communication issues slowed down the process.
I don't think its impossible and I'd be happy to help, but I don't think its as easy as you think it might be.

Seems like a good isea though we should wait and see if @Hoyr comes back.

It has been over half a year since we last had an update. And Hoyr was last seen Oct 8, 2016....

Lets be honest with ourselves now. The thread has waited more then enough time on this subject. Almost 6 months since the guy has been on the site. Just 3 more days for that one. It is time to start seriously considering people these positions or just getting at least a temp GM.

Preferably this time people are smart enough to keep the actual mechanics saved in open format for the next time this happens so it is easier on the thread.
