Shepard Quest Mk VI, Technological Revolution

…if you are that insistent that something impossible in canon must also be impossible in an interactive fanfic I really must wonder why you are following the quest at all.

The idea that the Batarians would be able to do this to random Relays remotely is frankly risible.
At no point did I mention the Batarians. Putting all our production in one place would be an exploitable weakness throughout the entire quest, not just in this one war.

Holes can be left in some designs. However, holes are weak point, if they get hit... well games over.
Hardly a major issue. Open holes at a 135 degree angle from the enemy. This keeps the weak points away from enemy fire without blocking your own drones' line of sight.

Pretty sure we've applied it to everything except the Arc Reactors and that's only because we put the Patent out first.
Humm. Quarians not Citadel Race. Not bound by Citadel law. Arc Reactor patent public knowledge. Information brokers. Limited production, easily hidden.
Conclusion: Tali in power armour.

This is why we (PI) should form an alliance with them and put some people on fixing the immune problem early. It could change the state of the galaxy by quite a bit even before canon starts.

Cure...Tali's Pilgramige gift?

On a random note...read the quote in Mordin's voice

They have been buildind it for the last 300 years or so. they still haven´t finished by ME 3. sure as hell they take a few more decades to finish it. even if we decided to build one it would take the entire economy of the galaxy to fund this project.
So they know how to build a Dyson Sphere but they don't know how to build one fast?

So then why can't we help them finish the one they're already constructing and perhaps give it some block upgrades at some point? That seems like late-game material though, actually...

Then we can build one ourselves during the epilogue, if we still want to.

Any reason we can't still hire them? We have the money, we have the labs or can build them as well.

Meta Level: I was offerinf a one of three choice because I was being nice it was supposed to be a pick one, just one, case.

In universe: They're busy with other things. You could try to hire them again. I offer no guarantees of success (aka dice may come out).

That sounds streamlined. I'm willing to give it a shot. I think you could do it and I would enjoy seeing more focus on characters in this quest anyway.

Most people weren't terribly interested in redoing it and since they weren't I choose not to do the work. Nice to have the upvote though.

I really feel like we should start working on this soon. The foreshadowing I've seen and still do indicates we might need it soon.

Hey I've only put like two dangerous reaper artifacts near you. Look at how many canon Shepard got near! She/he was fine as long as she didn't spend excessive time near them.

That seems fair. Does this mean we can increase this by finding ways to better use Revy's allotted time with her researchers through administration and technology?

Probably the only way Revy can get more time is if she cures sleep (Hard). She's pretty close to peak efficiency as is. Oh or she could fuse her self and her researcher together into a singularity that'd work. Reaperhood ho!

What about her ANI? With her super-human (If 7 is Captain-America and she has 10...) mental stats and ability to directly interface with technology wouldn't she be able to get more work done?

Note how the company has been growing but I haven't taken anything away. CEOdom is a hungry beast. That said the ANI does give a bonus to RP.

But yes nice that all those upgrades help Revy avoid working herself into an early grave, isn't it?

What about her other stats? How do stats like Perception, Instruction or Charistma affect her, and her research in particular?

Most of the stats I use for her personal actions, or business actions that have Revy do something directly. The stats and the research/business thing are a bit disconnected so it's hard to map how RP and Logic+R&D compare. Revy has her stats set to represent what the business research side said she should have seeing as the char sheet came later.

And what about the other research heroes?

I have never stated them as there has never been much of a need. That said Conrad does use his CASIE a lot; the bonus really offsets stats that should be 1s.

What affects our performance, if it's not a flat stat that doesn't increase or decrease regardless of personal affinities or synergistic technology?

The will of the G.O.D.*. More technically I've never systematized it because by the time I got control and had to set the limits they'd reached the point were anymore would just break things. Not much point of making rules if the rules tell you, "all ready maxed out"

If you cured sleep I'd probably bump the personal actions by one and maybe toss in an extra research die set. Lots of stress may make me take something away. I'd warn about it first in the personal section. Regardless it's very much a whatever I judge to be needed goes.

Does this mean we too will be covered in lightning if we research twin eezo cores? :p

Probably.

So they know how to build a Dyson Sphere but they don't know how to build one fast?

The Geth have chosen not to be a von Nuemann swarm for some reason. But yes they've taken 300 years to determine that they want to do this project, design it and build it. Then again stars are big and I imagine this was one giant debate. The entire future of one's kind should be.

Anyone else a lot more tempted by Probably-Sovereign's offer now?

Hey, with that, we wouldn't even need 1000 years to become God-Empress of Everything. Might not actually HAVE much to rule over, but we'd still be God-Empress, right? :p

I wonder if we can make Nerve Gears and create SAO?
I think we have the tech for it on our tree (we have some pretty damn good neural interfaces, but aren't getting software AIs until we get a license and maybe not even then), but the whole death game thing would be rather massively OOC for Revy.

Are we going to go stupid super evil and trap everyone there for some weird vision?

not the death part just the massive full immersive AI managed vr game world

We have the capacity to do it if we choose to research software AIs. But I don't see why we would. There's risk of a sufficiently good game screwing with the labor force, even apart from the risks of making an AI and not ending up with someone who just wants to GM all day every day.

*shrug* probably could but idk why we would focus on the gaming aspect when we have things needing done.
income without needing production, plus make another version to trap batarians in to make them think they are still in reality and steal all their information,
basically this.

See, that's a thing that could probably exist even without us specifically having it due to lack of AI to manage it. I say we use it as another excuse to research the mind shields.

Also, random thought: what would Javik think of our "Genuine Prothean Energy Blades"?

Probably not much. They look to be ceremonial or sport weapons and Javik was born after the Harvest started in his cycle. They had pretty much lost all of their culture that wasn't useful for fighting the Reapers. There's a good chance he's never even seen one before.
