Shepard Quest Mk VI, Technological Revolution

then you get launched into a random star

HA! If you were well and truly immortal, you would just come back angry and on fire.
....
I think? Maybe getting hit by a supernova/hypernova might do the trick.....or maybe tossed into an actual black hole.

But if it requires you to be tossed into an actual black hole (not the fake ones created by biotics), you have pretty much crossed into 'Gunbuster/Diebuster level' of 'why won't you die!?' and would be considered to be a space monster rather than a human being.

Any kind of person that requires K-1~2 levels of power to kill shouldn't really be considered to be a normal human being.

Ah! One of the best parts of GMing is watching the players try to figure out whats going on... just wish I had someone to run my "clever" schemes over with. Oh well!

Anyway seem like people have mostly made up their minds so I'll probably call the vote in a couple of hours. Unless there's a reason not to?

*Is in mildly trolling mood*
Would it be horribly mean of me to tell you the percentage rightness of the most accurate guess? (Though not which one?)

Yeah probably.

*Continues to be amused at guesses*

because the it's done a few strange things which narrows down the candidates.
  1. kept up with a human using ANI which allows "speed of thought" computer manipulation.
  2. tricked the ANI which is heavily blackboxed and is not public knowledge.
  3. is constantly shifting it's access point and does not appear to be physically present at any access point.
the amount of known beings who can do that are in order of worst for us to best
  1. Reapers
  2. High level infiltrators with clearance for both tech and security areas
  3. Unknown AI
  4. Geth
  5. Virtual Aliens
  6. Kasumi pulling a prank
It could also be Cortana rebelling, I guess, if she achieved sentience and sapience.

Anyway calling it.

Also 50%, but still missing the point even then.

Looks like the winner is:

[X] You put overrides into the Neural Interface for just this reason! Use them! Get out.
-[X] And shut down the security server completely.

That one had good odds to win and was what I expected. The other option might have been interesting though. Oh well.

Meh, better paranoia than getting whacked because voters wanted the shiny or the interesting option. You aren't paranoid if the universe *is* out to get you. This increases as time goes on and the stakes get higher.

Psh, the entire universe isn't out to get us! There is just this one rebellious bit that we need to quash.

And definite prioritization of AI-license preparation (that's the one that has anti-hacking measures, right?).
Already included in my plan for 2173-Q4 research, and I don't see many other people proposing alternatives.

There really is something seriously odd going on here, and I'm a little annoyed that we're not even making a token nod to it, rather than just immediately jumping to batten down the hatches. The last vote in particular, where the intruder hacked our ANI, which I remind everyone was invented only one quarter ago, suggests that the evidence points to something beyond an Asari super-hacker softening up the base for an invasion.

We need to come up with a stage of special ops even passed N7. They pass a sort of training course, get all sorts of gene mods courtesy of Paragon Industries, get the latest and best neural interfaces, the best amps, the best everything. We will call them Next Generation Bio-Mechanically Augmented Superhumans, or NEXTs for short.

To me this says that this is, at least in part, an inside job. Someone who had access to ANI designs for a while already. A researcher from one of the teams who helped make it; Cortana rebelling or subverted; Conrad, subverted or misguided. Etc.

Well we ever find out what it was? Was talking the best option, or was hostile distraction the name of the game? Find out next time on Dragon ball Z!

... sounds about right. A lot of those dramatic questions weren't actually answered in the next episode, from memory.

NO, the reason you throw a True Immortal(Lacking the Concept of Death) into a Star is b/c the Star will hold them and burn them and they will go insane, and if you throw them into the RIGHT kind of star they will never escape because it will collapse into a NEUTRON star

Of course that's only if the immortal is stupid enough to have their existence shackled to a physical form.

For truly immortal being, one just need to maim it until it can do anything beyond its continued existence.
