Semper Ad Meliora (Code Geass/Britannian Royalty Quest)

[X][NVB] Reject Nunnally vi Britannia as a Knight in your service, insisting that she learn a measure of independence from you.
[X][GR] Commission her as your new Admiral: A genius and daring mind such as hers would be a waste at any other level.

Which reminds me, we had the question about music way back when.
@Slayer Anderson
How are movies shaping up ITTL?

I mean, if we want to go get into that, there's the whole bunch of matters like the process towards gaming development, Hollywood (or likely an equivalent), books/authors, tv, music (again), and how Japan and other would be anime/k-pop/idols/etc are doing.

Also, in this AU, did WW1 even happen? I'm having such a hard time putting together the important historical events that did and did not transpire that I know of, and so far, I have such a hard time seeing it to have gone down....at all, really. Which, if it did, I guess that's cool? I'd like to know more, certainly, and I definitely want to know how tanks became MBT's we see now/in canon, as well as other "modern day" equipment that I'm unsure of where the necessity came from. I suppose would-be Area conquest??

War movies are usually considered the cream of the crop. Close second is action movies, especially ones fighting terrorists. Think Die Hard or White House Down or something.

Courtly Romance is also a very popular genre, particularly where a commoner is picked up and assertively romanced by a noble who takes them away to live in opulence. In terms of sci-fi, it's a fairly underdeveloped genre actually. There are a few good movies or series, but it just isn't all that popular.

VOTE CALLED!

Winning Vote:

[X][NVB] Accept Nunnally vi Britannia as a Knight in your service, putting her in charge of 2nd Armored Cavalry Unit.
[X][GR] Commission her as your new Admiral: A genius and daring mind such as hers would be a waste at any other level.

...if I leave it open any further, this will just get silly. Even if it isn't already:

I'm pretty sure that the biggest divergence point for Brittania is that England was forced to retreat to North America by Napoleon.

So no WW1 but there was a different Great War.

By the way, does the senior naval officer of a royal's retinue always have the rank of admiral? Or does Britannian Navy not have the rank of commodore?

I think we just recruited her much like we recruited Jeanne to be our military advisor straight from post-graduation?

It depends on what officer rank system Britannia uses. If it's based on the US, then commodore is a position, not a rank.
If it's based on the UK, then there would be.

We recruited her in the rank of Seaman, though, and now we promoted her all the way to flag officer in one go, which is... well, "outrageous" does not even begin to descibe it. Commodore, if it, indeed, exists in Britannian Navy, would've been one step lower while still being a viable rank for a squadron command position, but even then I sure hope she finishes appropriate officer's courses and puts a few months of service in before she has to interact with other Navy officers in any capacity. The ones we already have are not a problem, since she's already asserted command over them during the engagement, but other Britannian units in the region? 10 to 1 they'll be as dickish as possible without provoking the Prince should they cross paths.

Tbf we don't have an admiral until now, so it had to be filled by someone. No old dudes willing to throw their careers onto a commoner prince's council, so a bloody butcher will have to do :3

I imagine if not for that debacle, Jeanne would've put forward one or more commanders of the patrol craft forward for Lelouch to pick and promote.
Yeah but we've hired a genius 17 year old girl for military advice, stumbled on a thousand year old clan of psychic ninjas, a knight/pilot who is arguably one of the top pilots, a noble pilot girl with brilliant potential, our sister who is pretty much one of the best pilots right now, a literal conspiracy nut for a head researcher. A cruel arbitrary seawoman for our navy shouldn't be too much of a stretch.

Actually our choices the past few turns have been a bit worse than before. (Lunatic and a Butcher???)

He could tragically killed his brother's entire family, the nobles that support him would find that as Tragedy rather than Scandal.

Or it was just sad coincidences.

This is a CK2 quest, so I believe the former would be more likely to happen.

Reminds me of that one country in Discworld where the peasants consider assassination a natural cause of death for nobility and so don't try to rebel much to the surprise of the usurper.

@Slayer Anderson, who would be Emperor of Britannia if Emperor Charles where to suddenly die. Would it go to Schneizel, Odysseus, Lelouch, Cornelia or would Britannia fall into a multi-sided civil war?

Edit: What is Princess Marrybell up to?
