Either way, we are getting close. 61.4%, 62.5% if Asgard's "I don't know" is counted as a abstention (doubt it does though).
35/57 voting for no Slaves. We need either 9 new Anti-Slave votes, 3 switching to Anti, or 5 switching to Abstain.

If you guys are asleep, sure hope you get back on before the vote ends. Cause you guys could decide it, keep us from marching out slaves on public display. Even just by choosing to abstain, cause right now you are effectively voting to allow people to use slaves, rather than just not influence the vote at all.

If you have a look at the older part of the Thread you would have seen that the Slave Miner (Building) Is Non-Functional I.E No Slaves...
But if you were to Riot Vote them in then there would be slaves

That explains it... those who want to screw the PRT and other authorities know that as long as they keep the banning of slaves from passing, our relationship is going to implode because of those riot-slaves in quick succession.
Which means that we will be forced to prepare for combat against them - thus allowing them to have their cake even with majority being against it.

I mean, it is quite a masterstroke: with one riot-unit, a person can decide on their own to completely break all diplomatic ties.

I've changed my policy vote. But I feel that the main surge of slave miner voting is because certain people were absolute pricks in the way they went about trying to get Veekie to not use a slave miner.
If they had been less moralizing assholes about it and instead tried to simply convince people to change their ways, perhaps we wouldn't be where we are now. A thing to consider in the future, I hope.

The fact that slave miner-rioting basically takes choice away from most of the player-base is not a minor factor here.

It didn't until a certain someone went into a mass panic about the morality of it all, tried to cause friendly fire incident that might've turned into a giant vote brawl, and then made a giant thread vote designed to tie down our options.
One slave miner working the wreckage wouldn't have ruined everything, even if it was discovered it would simply lead into discussion of our nature.
But people acted like it was the end of the world.
Well, a BUNCH of slave miners openly working, voted for out of spite because some people thought that their voices counted more than others, despite us all being on this quest together, is going to cause an incident.
Though, whatever happened to slave miners only operating nearby ore?
Only Riot Miners contain slaves, and indeed, they do not deploy slaves at all unless harvesting. So the spite votes don't actually do anything either 
At present, it's being kept more or less because of the approach.
Funny thing is, I'd have just changed my vote if I wasn't repeatedly and extensively pinged(along with a group of others) while unable to reply(owing to for instance, being asleep, driving or in a meeting).

To be honest, I had been planning to vote for something silly, like seeing if I could have a conscript wander over and try to join up with the PRT. Though given the commanders abilities, that would wind up not being a bad tactical decision.
But reading the comments since the last story post, the way certain anti-slavery people were going about things really ruffled my feathers.

If you want to be a dick to people who didn't do shit like that just to make sure you can be a dick to those that did why not just go full fucking hog and vote to go to the PRT pick-up and attack them there? I'd sure as fuck rather get this dickish back and forth over right away rather than put up with this shit for several turns trying to get a majority.
