Yeah, it is trying to do freighters and defense together, because maybe it'll work. If it's doesn't, then maybe we do another action to get both together.

What other assumption? That we won't be able to stall the evacuation long enough for terraforming to finish? Unfortunately given the timeline and capacity of Maphara I don't see another option.

I meant, your version of the write-in. I legitimately liked the original version of it, which is why that's what I'm sticking to.

Special focus will be paid to the shield generators, with the hope that the Lamenters can carry out boarding actions to capture the stations wholly intact.

To clarify, the assumptions in the version of the write-in are both obviously flawed but also... like, okay.

We have TWO more Additional Actions we need to do (before the Revolution, to extend the time as far as we can), and we have two things we really want to do: Infiltrate the Freighters and further infiltrate the Defense Stations.

That... seems like a match-made in heaven, not something to half-ass both of them out of sheer impatience.

Can we please do the actions that increase Action efficient first, we don't need to start build SBGs yet.
We can wait two turns and will have enough time to build at least two if want even three SBGs.

I do not think there is time for more terraforming we got in the worst case 5 turns left and need to fit in:
5 Actions building SBG's
5 actions for building the evacuation fleet
2 actions for infiltrating
1 to study the battle wreckage
2 to build the SAG's needed

leaving 0 actions

Is it half-assing? We've got the propaganda office, we've got a bunch of assets in place already and we're good at this stuff. I was hoping that HeroCooky would jump in and tell me if it was feasible or not before the vote, but we didn't get that, so now I'm hoping they'll get to it before the vote closes. I'd love to save an action here if we could.

That being said, I'm honestly happy if any of the current plans win. Except the logistics-upgraded ground forces, since I think that locks in effectively all of our upcoming actions on other things. And The Laurent's plan is likely to win regardless given historical trends.

It will get us one more turn, giving more time for the existing terraforming to complete, see HeroCooky anwser to the Laurent question:
Remind me, did HeroCooky say that the Logistical/Cheaper Infantry stuff would count as an Additional Action for the Hive Infiltration? I think I remember something about that, but I cannot find it.

Based on the answer above i would suggest doing this as it will count as an action for voxx so pushes the clock back a turn and i suspect that this will increase the amount of SAG's we get per action
It will also add 0.2 to banked research(0.4 per action gained 1 spend) allowing us to do two researches for one action next turn.

And i hope to use the banked research to do:
Free Duchy Shipwreck And Battle Studies with a action
and then
-[] Sophont Workforce Requirement Reduction Considerations
with the free one

I mean, among other things it's half-assed to the extent that instead of doing two things as two actions, getting 1/3rd of our Polities entire focus each time... we'd be trying to do two things as one action, getting 1/3rd of our Polities' entire focus one time.

It will count for pushing back Voxx - but so would the action that infiltrates the defense stations. So all of our plans should push back the Voxx timer. More importantly, it doesn't add any new terraformed worlds. We're almost there but not quite. Just a few more will actually get us the space we need. The four in my plan mean that by the time Maphara finishes we will actually be able to depopulate Voxx without crushing ourselves by either:
1. Leaving 50 billion on Voxx and taking a 5-8 hit in most Infastructure.
2. Importing 2 billion to each of our 32 worlds and suffering a full generation of extreme unrest.
3. Needing to spend 9-12 actions on building void stations.

I mean, among other things it's half-assed to the extent that instead of doing two things as two actions, getting 1/3rd of our Polities entire focus each time... we'd be trying to do two things as one action, getting 1/3rd of our Polities' entire focus one time.
Feasible but diluted. Would take another Action to finish. (Like doing them separatly would.)
Ah. There we go. So basically doesn't matter which we do. One action each, or two actions on them both together.

...that plan isn't bad, though it's honestly a really big gamble. If the Sophont Workforce doesn't do .5 progress on each of the two, then it's functionally a wasted action when we can afford basically no wasted action.

And it feels like FAR more of a gamble. At the same time, it is sort of tempting...

Eh, I guess I'm fine with either? If this does wind up not having big enough improvements, we are gonna have to basically sprint to the finish line to make it.

It will count for pushing back Voxx - but so would the action that infiltrates the defense stations.
I can see how better weapons would lead to us being able to fight off the current voxx rulers but the station infiltration would help after the revolt begun as we are not planning on attacking those before it starts so i do not see how that could delay our detectoin

Ok I'm confused at what we get at different Void Industry levels, there seem to be different quotes supporting different things.

VI 3 was Destroyers, VI 5 was Frigates ,VI 7 was Light Cruisers, VI 10 was Heavy Cruisers, then VI 13 was Grand Cruisers. VI 16 was Battleships, and VI 20 were Superweapons, I think?

Ah, we were both wrong,
From this semi-recent discussion I thought it settled on we got Grand Cruisers at VI 12 (XII).

[Alectai said: Wasn't GC supposed to be VI 12?]
Yep, forgot that. :sour:
Cooky seems to confirm that here, all is good.

Meanwhile, for 3 Actions we could get Civ Inf XV, and the trait we can get there will bring us to VI 12:
Meanwhile apparently I forgot we already hit VI 12 since that trait will bring us back to it. So we should already have unlocked Grand Cruisers?

VII has Grand Cruisers...
I take it that is XVII / 17, so no we don't get Grand Cruisers but now we have these two quotes contradicting each other.

So whats the deal?

Also, I'm trying to figure out boarding vs infiltrating actions and what our options are. I thought we had some old imperial boarding ships but its just the Lamenters and Leos.

@HeroCooky
1. Can our Chameleons be used to surprise board the Mass Conveyor freighters as part of a Military action?
2. Are our regular fleet ships capable of boarding the Mass Conveyors while keeping them fully functional?
3. If we ask 1 Lamenter ship to act as the boarder and assisted with our other forces, can we do that as part of the invade Voxx Military action without impeding the rest of the invasion?
4. If we use an action to infiltrate the Mass Conveyors, do we still have to have specialized ships arranged to board them? Could the infiltrators allow the Chameleons to dock/board?

@Neablis sidenote on the Camelolepardis
I think the Camelolepardis needs work. Maybe I'm missing something on how boarding works.

It can't break shields so it can't actually start boarding, so it needs an escort to bring down shields. That means the stealth is bypassed.

It needs to stick around in close range to do the boarding so its Emergency Warp is very situational, and since it is minimum size and has low defences its fragile. Also if it warps away after boarding is finished the hijacked ship can't follow. Emergency Warp is too expensive and mainly useful if discovered early and the ship doesn't need to follow through with its job anyway.

I think its trying to be too good at too many things. I would drop Emerg Warp and Ghosts to build tankiness and a shield breaker weapon. Ramming maybe unless that does too much damage? Maybe switch the stealth to Zero-Emmision Protocols since it only needs it on the approach.

Could also be my Warhammer knowledge is lacking and my reasoning is off here.

I deleted the note where I had written down when X class gets unlocked, so I went off of memory there. So...Void 13 for Grand Cruiser.

1. Yes.
2. Fully depends on what the captains and crew of the ships decide to do in response to being boarded en-mass.
3. How should I know? You haven't even written down any military goals beyond "Get stations, invade, fuck off with the people." (Simplified)
4. You don't know. Probably?

That is only needed when using Teleportariums. Boarding pods/craft ignore void shields.

And with that; Night!
