How the fuck do you afford that without making the ship a complete atrocity?

EDIT: Oh, by making a single ship take Twice as long to make a round trip. That's how. And then wastes points by making it a troop transport instead of committing to the bit instead.
As far as I understand it the Acceleration is only for in system movement and the long part of the journey is the wrap part and not effected by it.

Yes.

You need to transit through system to get far enough out from gravity wells to enter Warp

That's why naval battles can even happen. If people could just teleport from orbital to orbital, there'd never be time to do an intercept.

We could research Slumber Melody and make a Slumber + Silence + Something Song.

Essentially use whatever Choir ends up in transport to read the hive gangers a bedtime story and tuck them in to bed.

Oh yeah, furthermore, would Superior Gravimetric actually improve their transit and turnaround times or should I dump that for something else?
You can dump that if you like. It would make it easier for turning around/docking/undocking/dodging random space debris.
@HeroCooky
Does an Troop Compartment with Troops help onboard security?
They would be helpful at the off load points.
Not really, not unless you want them to go in guns blazing and start executing people.

RE: Internal Security
Generally, the higher you go, the better an Equipment gets. Here, the higher you get in the IS tree, the deadlier boarding becomes. You want, at most, Improved Internal Security taken twice/thrice for sheer bodies to ensure power is projected and any who would start shit get hit within minutes of it starting, instead of hours.

Thank you for clarifying!

So, 2x Improved Internal should be enough, the point is generally 4-ish DP worth of Security to reasonably keep things from getting out of hand, right? Or would 4x Internal Security Systems be better under the circumstances just because we need pure saturation rather than sheer killing power?

I'd go with three and five, to be quite honest here.

[] [Heavy Freighter] Canis-minor Class Bulk Transport Hauler
-[] Length
- 10.000 Meters
-[] Width - 3.000 Meters
-[] Acceleration - 1 Gravities (-4 DP)
-[] Armor - Thick Single Hull
-[] Shields - Three Emitters
-[] Weapons - Unarmed
-[] Equipment - Ship Shrines/Internal Security Systems/1x Large Emergency Relief Cargo Hold/2x Titanic Emergency Relief Cargo Hold (-41 DP)
I would not add Internal Security Systems to a ship designed to haul food, instead spend the point on a weapon, and the only one that can work a bit on ships this slow are hangars.

It's mostly in the off chance we get a stowaway or saboteur or something. Hence why it's only one point.

I don't think we've got anything that would be relevant honestly.
It's probably worthwhile to split up the Light Freighter into two designs, if you have the DP left over.

Give one light freighter enhanced supply generation (what's the point of a large civilian manufactory if the freighter carrying it has neither cargo holds nor the mining shuttles to supply it?), the other all the medical and relief stuff.

"The Propaganda Office would like to note that the tentatively identified 'Flyssa-Class Destroyers' that resonate with a note of "Cutting" as per our Choirs have neither been seen training nor have they been recalled. No information could be obtained about their use as the information remains beyond the reach of our inserted agents."
Huh, seems i didn't actually post my comment on that...
So, cutting is AI -> doesn't need training?

If we can use a Choir to put a different section of the ship into enforced naptime: THIS. We absolutely need this.
We should put in an AP next turn to get Slumber and Paths.

Here is an Fleet Repair and Support Vessel for the remaining 4DP

[] [Light Freighter] Faber Class Fleet Support and Repair Vessel

Those are included in the more advanced structures I believe, can @HeroCooky confirm?

On an entirely different note.
I see we only have 4 "Proof of Our New Path" battlecolonies in the fleet, but the Notable ship list includes 5.

When did we lose one?

I'd really prefer to fill other needs with those DP. Specifically I think we absolutely need a stealth boarder to ensure we can take the existing freighters. We can't afford those ships fleeing into the Van Zandt duchy. If we do that then hundreds of billions die of starvation no matter what.

We also need a rustbucket for hymns to move all these freighters around. The repair ship is kind of optional, I don't think these two designs are.

@Alectai I'm swamped at work, do you think you could slap together those two?

Maybe a general cargo/passenger hauler?
main use is to move food and good around our systems with a secondary job off moving civilians
I had 3 points left over at the end so it got shrines and Civilian Supply Generation to help if it encounters a planet in need while travelling

[] [Light Freighter] Hauler Freighter(25)
-[] Length - 7.000 Meters
-[] Width - 1.400 Meters
-[] Acceleration - 2 Gravities (-2 DP)
-[] Armor - Thin Single Hull (+1 DP)
-[] Shields - Singular Emitter (+1 DP)
-[] Weapons - Medium Hangars - [Mixed] - (-1 DP)
-[] Equipment
--[] Large Emergency Relief Cargo Holds - Holds everything a population of a billion experiencing a natural or artificial disaster may need to survive. For a very short time. A week, at most.(9)
--[] Enlarged Emergency Relief Cargo Holds - Holds everything a medium-sized population experiencing a natural or artificial disaster may need to survive.(6)
--[] Medium Civilian Transportation Hold - Enough space and Life Support Systems to transport Five million souls through the Warp. Neither comfortable nor luxurious, but better than dying. Includes shuttles and transportation craft to facilitate smooth boarding.(5)
--[] Internal Security Systems - Turrets, Gun-Servitors, crew training, and armored bunkers at strategic locations will make a boarder's life hell.(1)
--[] Ship Shrines - Shrines dedicated to the Machine Spirit of the ship, the crew lost in battles and operations past, and to bolster the faith of all aboard.(1)
--[] Civilian Supply Generation - Internal factories and mining shuttles capable of gathering and manufacturing limited supplies for a ship aiding a planetary of void station suffering a disaster.(2)

Or a ship to help the others move around

[] [Light Freighter] Leader Freighter(25)
-[] Length - 7.000 Meters
-[] Width - 1.400 Meters
-[] Acceleration - 2 Gravities (-2 DP)
-[] Armor - Thin Single Hull (+1 DP)
-[] Shields - Singular Emitter (+1 DP)
-[] Weapons - Medium Hangars - [Mixed] x2 - (-2 DP)

Here a stealth boarder for 2DP

[] [Frigate] Class Name
-[] Length - 1.600 Meters +4DP
-[] Width - 350 Meters +4DP
-[] Acceleration - 7 Gravities
-[] Armor - Single Hull +2DP
-[] Shields - Two Arrays
-[] Weapons
--[] Medium Hangars Boarding 2x -4DP
-[] Equipment
--[] Ghosts Amidts The Stellar Winds -10DP
--[] Zero-Emissions Protocols -6DP
--[] Stealth Engine Dampeners -4DP
--[] Refractive Hull Coating -2DP
--[] Superior Gravimetric Engine Calculations -2DP
--[] Harsh Crew Training -2DP

[] [Destroyer] SS Rustbucket
-Length
- 1200 Meters (+4)
-Width - 350 Meters (+1)
-Acceleration - 8 Gravities (+0)
-Armor - Thin Double Hull (+0)
-Shields - One Array (+0)
-Weapons - NONE
-Equipment - Hymn of the Machines (-10 DP), Armored Lifepods (-1 DP), On Board Supply Generation (-1 DP), Ship Shrines (-1 DP)

Under the old scout rules this 8 DP destroyer should only cost 1 FP to build - though that would need @HeroCooky acknowledgement, as well as the question of if boarding hangers come with their own troops, or if I need to stick an Augmetic Security Department or small troop compartment onto the below ship.

Then there's the stealth boarding frigate, which is basically a reskinned Chameleon with a boarding focus. Made it a tiny bit slower to fit in a light Teleportarium. Figure that it's worth it to be able to deliver a small augmentic strike team to the Freighter's bridge.
[] Camelopardalis-Class Infiltration Border
-Length - 1.600m
-Width - 350m
-Acceleration - 6.5 Gravities
-Armor - Single Hull
-Shields - One Array
-Weapons - 2x Medium Boarding Hangars
-Equipment - Refractive Hull Coating/Ship Shrines/Stealth Engine Dampeners/Emergency Transition Warp Breakers/Ghosts Amidts The Stellar Winds/Superior Gravimetric Engine Calculations/Light Teleportarium
