[x] Try Your Best To Aid Them

doing otherwise when we ourselves had to drag ourselves up from a similar state of being broken abused slaves would be deeply hypocritical.

Probably Humanity. Though I may be biased b/c it is one of the 4 other melodies we need to be able to get our navigator equivalents.

I would be willing to get behind composing the Humanity Melody in this upcoming turn, depending on how the new actions pan out.

The Taurus did surprisingly good work in the Void-War, so I'd be down to try and get another one built as well so we can transport all of our ground forces in a given turn. That would be the two actions we have free tho...

Hm...man this really is Action Hell huh?

Better than I expected, definitely, but it still Did The Job, which was the important part. Creating and getting a free ship mod is just bonus, and tells me that our first True Capital Ship should be a dedicated carrier for sure.

That we can get experience with the Taurus is just bonus

When you say 'true capital ship' what size class are you thinking? Cause I'm a bit leery of making our first Light Cruiser a dedicated carrier when our 'front line' is still as flimsy as it is. Our first 'normal'/heavy cruiser I could probably get behind tho.

Our front line isn't flimsy at all though? Unless you're considering "By the scale of Great Powers" anyway. The Aries-class is a respectable workhorse, and the Taurus turned out to be a surprisingly scrappy support vessel. It might be worthwhile to design a Frigate with a heavy punch to serve as a punch-upper of course. Actually, we might want to do that next turn. Designing More Ships is how we get more DP after all, and now that we have our Troopship, I'm much more amenable to a missile-carrier. Two of those should anchor our battleline nicely.

EDIT: Now that I think of it, @HeroCooky , what would the difference between having two Medium Missiles vs One Medium and two Lights, when all of them have Missile-Swarms attached?

No. This isn't a decision we can change later. This is a POLICY decision in how we handle this. We aren't going to be allowed to change it later.
Correction: You will be able to just decide to abandon the planet. See the future update.

The smaller a missile, the less likely it is to be intercepted. The larger it is, the more damage it does.

Hmm, so there's value in having a variety of missiles, especially in terms of saturating Point Defense, huh? Good to know.

A second question, do we have an idea of how Roks usually perform? Are they functionally just the equivilant of SDF boats in this context that Orks can actually tow to another system because Daemons invading is just the in flight entertainment?

Missiles aren't quite as subject to firing arcs as Macrobatteries and Lances, right?

Hollowed out asteroids strapped with guns and engines. Vary from Rok to Big Rok to Mega Rok, and have a quality range of Wazzit? to Eh.

Hah, so not a huge threat except in overwhelming numbers, good to have that confirmed.

Anyway, thanks for the information, I'll have a suitable missile carrier ready for submission next time we do a Ship Design :) The Sagitarrius was close, but still suffered from trying to make use of a macroweapon. Trading the macrocannon for two Light Missile Batteries would give us significant anti-group applications while not compromising on its ability to cause Problems to heavier craft.

If the third Ship Design gives us that coveted extra DP, we can then revisit the Aries-class, upgrade the macrocannon to a rotary and add Autoloaders--and then either get anti-boarding measures or switch the lance out for a prow lance to give it a scary punch.

Something something, underestimate Orks at your own peril, something something, everyone died who didn't take them seriously, something something...

Yes, the caveat being "In overwhelming numbers"

One Rok is probably nothing to get excited about, but there's never just one Rok.

I'm a veteran of War of the Krork, I know not to Underestimate the Orks.

There are no purple Roks. The thought alone, preposterous!
Void Construction Equipment for a ship? Void VII. Station Networks within a system? A VCE-equipped ship or local Void Industry.

Void VII gates a lot of cool stuff, huh?

Are there similar breakpoints in the other Infrastructure fields or is it mostly Void Infrastructure that has these gigantic threshold moments? I didn't notice anything amazing with Food even though it's also at V, so...
