You're the Queen - Now What? [CK2ish Character-Focused Quest]

I'll admit I wasn't 100% sure Vanessa's Greedy trait didn't apply to that until checking right now (given how its presented I had to remind myself it only triggered on spending money, not earning it), and also semi-forgot that Vanessa could do that to begin with, so while I am in agreement that the Keeper should then be negotiating the Loan with the Goldaxe Bank (now anyways), I will say that I only used that as an example to illustrate the point I was trying to make regarding priority of actions.

I'm still opposed to trying to have Vallefor jump at a short-term goal when we can start setting up a very necessary long-term goal best done as early as possible. Even if it sets us back on getting on the defecit, it's that important. In this case, this long-term goal even allows us to have better odds at the short-term objective anyways.
I am unsure, why you think having a spy network in Selissa is so important, besides helping to claw back money from the Selissan banks.
I get the long-term goal of gaining good intel on foreign nations by building up external spy networks, yet I cannot see why it can't wait a turn or two, before we start. I also think that we have decent enough odds of a success for clawing back money in Selissa to do that action already now.

So... we're coming down to the 2 hour warning and we have a tie in the leading plans. Anyone willing to do some tie-breaker votes?

I think a coin toss wouldn't be the worst outcome, would find that better than someone feeling forced to vote.
Edit: People should be able to stand firmly behind their decision.

I was more meaning that people who haven't yet voted should go ahead. I don't think a coin toss/die roll is the right way to make the decision.

We had so much time, everyone who wanted to vote had the chance.
Anyone who votes at the end is under pressure and may make a decision that ultimately leads to regret.
If you find someone who really only makes a decision at the end and has thought about it carefully, that's good.
But at 8 against 8 I don't think it's a good idea to do it just for pressure.

In fairness, I don't think having a network in Selissa is the biggest priority in the world either. I would probably have put it into an Internal spy network if I made the plan myself, or put it in Morvak as a precaution against Morvak doing anything more than saber-rattling. I was still feeling my oats for the decisionmaking so I didn't make my own plan, and Crawkid's plan+Reconstruction Begins hit almost all of my important notes.

(Just to put it to rest-I do not believe Morvak will full-on invade out of the blue during the first turn, but I can see Morvak poking at the borders to probe for weaknesses if they're not too busy with their proxy-wars, and if that goes unanswered, then we could see full invasions on a 'weak' target. Nothing impossible to overcome.)

But the way I see it that's almost irrelevant. We will eventually need spy networks as close to 'everywhere' as we can get it, no matter how seemingly unimportant it may look at first. Right now, I see it as putting off immediately seizing the money to instead get as close to a guarantee we get more out of it, plus even more later off of the general intelligence we will gradually trickle in that may lead to powerful opportunities in the future. The loss of Dureks is a worthy trade to me.

[X]Plan: Fixing the Economy
[X][ENVOYS] Lady Carissa Floren, a noblewoman with relatives in Nerinthar, Veldros, Restid and Velermarch. Charming, friendly and well-liked, she can establish rapport with almost anyone very quickly, or so is her reputation. Lost her older brother and mother to Syrokis's war with Morvak, and her family was rewarded with property in the Thornmarch after the war with Morvak. Doesn't really lean progressive or conservative, as a noble.
[X][JUSTICE] Itrick Grosdan, a high-ranking cleric of Askiran. Most concerned with the maintenance of order, he is an advocate for flexible laws and clear, humane sentences. Vocal opponent of torture (which is legal under certain circumstances in Halrun, including as punishment for crimes. An old man, he has served as essentially a freelance investigator and prosecutor for Brunn, briefly Syrokis, and various nobles and towns, as well as Port Lest.

While her estates were returned to her, she is nearly bankrupt, but she is widely seen as incorruptible where the letter of the law is concerned.

Have I mentioned how much I don't like the lack of in-line dicerolling? I'm this close to just rolling the dice here at home.

Anyway, dice will be edited into this post assuming I do it right.
EDIT: Nope, not in this post clearly.

Okay, I'm *not* going to try again. Does anyone know if it's possible to make multiple distinct rolls on a single post with this thing? Because if not, I'm just doing this at home with actual dice.

[Correspondence] 50 (Base) + 6 (Stew) + 4 (1/2 Learn) + 4 (Trait) = 64%
[Royal Vaults] 50 (Base) + 10 (Stew) + 5 (Trait) = 65%
[High Marshall] 55 (Base) + 7 (Mart) + 10 (Dip) +5 (Trait) = 77%
[Secrets] 52 (Base) + 7 (Int) + 5 (Trait) = 64%
[Sheriffs and Reeves] 70 (Base) + 6 (Stew) +3 (Trait) = 79%
[Queen 1] 45 (Base) + 9 (Dip) + 8 (Stew) = 62%
[Queen 2] No Roll Required Yet

Yes, it's actually quite simple. When you do the rolls once, then click on the Throw dice button on the lower left hand of the post box - not the button next to the individual roll set that says 'Throw another dice.'

Also as a general rule, make absolutely sure you have the right number in the 'Number of Dice' and 'Faces' boxes.
MrRageQuit threw 2 6-faced dice. Reason: Example 1 Total: 5
1 1 4 4
MrRageQuit threw 2 6-faced dice. Reason: Example 2 Total: 9
6 6 3 3

Hooray for obtusely designed systems! Also not a single thread I could find anywhere saying how to use it. It there is one, might be nice if it was in the site tutorials section.

Rienne and Vallefor proved to be MVPs for the money management this round, saving you a lot on demobilization, and clawing back as much of the money from the Selissan banks as possible, Balmain and Rykall were able to do 'good enough' with their jobs, and the Goldaxe Bank was just 'nope. we're not sure you're a safe invesment right now, sorry'.

The Queen did manage to make a decent improvement on the sale of confiscated property.

I'm going to go calculate the forces demobilized, and get you your money from the Selissan banks. Then we're going to have a no-narrative post that's just going to be your income - expenses (which will be reduced by your reduced army cost) = net gain/loss, as well as a vote for you guys on how to pay down the debt/what to prioritize/etc. While that's being voted on (probably a faster turnaround time there, 1 day of discussion, 3 days of voting), I'll be working on the narrative post for everything, which will also include the set up for any followup votes needed, as well as things like having your other generals deal with bandits.

Troops to be Demobilized:
238 Heavy Cavalry
694 Light Cavalry
813 Men at Arms
625 Crossbowmen
425 Skirmishers
438 Pikemen

Honestly, that part is pretty simple in my opinion. The Geltric Bank and the Feltrini Bank are the priorities in my opinion, because they've got the highest interest rates at 15%, and thus the highest ratio of Dureks removed from interest payments as a result.

That is one strategy. some people may prefer paying off interest rather than paying anything down, but since the Bridge Loan failed, I agree it's probably going to be reasonably straight forward.

I also suspect alot of the demobilised troops were soldiers who actually have homes, trades and families to go back to and were mobilized due to the Civil War. Rienne probably was able to figure out which elements in her army were more willing to lay down arms now the Civil war is over and had actually things to go back to.

Form my understanding this is the professional army, there was a levy which fought in the rebellion (probably on both sides) but they already demobilized after the rebellion won so while its not inconceivable that they have other trades they could go do their profession is being soldiers.
