Finally, some time to myself!

Don't forget that now we are /The Teacher/ we are now in the 'ridiculous' tier of pedagogical talent.

I wouldn't say *ridiculous tier*, definitely competent, but you are not hypercompetent on the equivalent of a chapter II path, too soon.

Man having a semblance that just changes you body and mind is gonna make people come to some interesting conclusions. What does it say about someone that the purest expression of their soul changes them in regards to how people view them?

This was probably going to be a big part of *The Chameleon* path, as you would have demonstrated how mcuh different you can be back to back with this one, in fact, let me show you the quick notes I had taken on what you would have done if you had gone for *Show Off*:

First fight as Spectre, distract them while Sable takes care of them.

Second fight as Stranger, your love knows how to react to suddenly having five realities to fight through, they don't.

Third fight as Thorn, let them strangle themselves in your Thorns, your love knows how to make them ignore him.

Fourth fight as yourself, they are expecting a gimmick, be direct.

Fifth fight as Eye of the Needle, intended to overpower them… but they fainted when seeing you.

Sixth fight as Stranger again, show them how many possibilities of you there are in this form.

Seventh fight as yourself but transform into Thorn in the middle of it, they will attack before understanding what it costs them.

Eighth fight as Specter possessing Sable, sure he is heavier, but then again, he is heavier and more determined, the two of you can certainly do something like that.

Ninth fight as Damsel, by this point, they will be so paranoid for what your angle is they won't even realize you do not have one.

Final fight… to be seen.

I particularly am proud of the ninth's fight idea, not easy to use Damsel in a fight.

I suppose that's fair, I wonder wonder if we use our 'semblance' more sure of that can be included in our 'Third Chapter' Teacher Variant, something like 'The Omnicompotent' or something among those lines

Considering how most tier 3s are I'd assume that it would be beyond just being teacher she would become either one of those nightmare strict teacher's with old school punishments for stepping out of line, the school itself with her body being a avatar of learning with the ability to teleport due to the belief that teachers can be anywhere, or she would become a counselor with the ability to just rewrite your future + minor brainwashing since teachers are meant to mold students and can "find" hidden talents, also the miracle worker who always has tools despite circumstances but that's not as more as most tier 3s

Hm, that does bring up the important question of what kind of subject Sable would like to teach.

While I still plan to focus on team counseling when it comes time for actual classes, this isn't too much of a departure from that. And it's true that we owe it to them to build their confidence back up after crushing them twice in a row, and this is also the thing most likely to be improved in such a short time before they have to fight again. Mortals can't adapt as quickly as we can after all.

Also their whiplash when we unleash the Damsel on them after what we just did to them will be hilarious.

He trips someone up and you spike them into the ground in the same breath, you send someone flying and he nick them with his blade when they go past.

You also can't help but remark that you are now able to sprout claws on command… it seems like miss Scarletina had so much an impression that she told it to her team, and convinced them that you definitely where a lion Faunus with hidden traits.

Right after the "One" you let your claws out, eliciting a sharp breath from Scarletina. You grin, and the match begins.

You pounce on Allistair while your love takes on Daichi. You barely have time to swipe at him once before Scarletina is on you, her posture a picture-perfect copy of the one you use normally, you know your own style though, and thus easily dodge the blow while cross countering with your own.

Adel is thorn between helping her comrade by softening her fall or making sure she can dodge your sweep for a moment, and decide to assure the dodge. Scarletina continues flying through the air and you nick Adel for her hesitation while going past her. You quickly roll and get on your feet then turn to her in time to dodge a strike from her purse. You idly hear the bell indicating one of you other half's opponent is down.

This is a realllly cool quest and premise. I only skimmed a playthrough and some endings from Slay the Princess, but as soon as I saw the summary I knew this was good.

Also I love what you've done with Remnant. Brighter in some ways with faunus factions, darker in others with cults... It has more intrigue but it doesn't seem super grim dark.

I think this has had realistic character interactions so far. The one thing I was hesitant about was Glynda's response to them. Some experienced huntsman-level fighters come along, and one of them (Stella) has a very... flexible mental state but with a powerful semblance. Im sure Glynda has some doubts about how trustworthy she could be as a teacher. Her partner is just plain and fine looking in comparison.

I hope that Ozpin really grills them both, he's not going to accept just anyone. He may sense something Eldritch about them. And yes Glynda was surprised that Stella's whole self could change so easily, there would be questions about how easily her moral compass can change.

At the moment, I think he'll go for team counseling too, there is no reason Beacon only has one teacher for each post, and this one is probably one of those they are lacking candidates in the most.

Didn't I tell you to stop reading my notes? Particularly as this isn't even a thing I have noted. :V

I don't really like Grim dark taken too far.

It's also not the story I want to tell, even if you had gone for a combination of the worst vessels possible*, I wouldn't have gone for a dark atmosphere at all costs.

*something like: Drowned Grey, Moment of Clarity, Fury, Wraith, Apotheosis. None of those are friendly to say the least.

She did get a slight shock when you revealed *oh, yeah, just seeing me in a certain way makes me change species*, but she didn't get how profoundly your semblance changed you last time, or more precisely, she though you had more control of it, you didn't talk about how you spontaneously change, you told about how you can take more specialized forms.

I hope that Ozpin really grills them both, he's not going to accept just anyone. He may sense something Eldritch about them. And yes Glynda was surprised that Stella's whole self could change so easily, there would be questions about how easily her moral compass can change.

I am low key preparing Ozpin since one or two updates ago, what he sees and what he thinks of it.

Your morale compass won't change, after all you just want to make Sable happy! :V

(Yeah, it can change, but you do have anchors right now.)

I think this is a good choice .... later when they don't just have 2 hours, but I think they can learn really valuable teamwork
stuff they can actually apply in this session. Wherever the vote goes in happy with it.

As someone familiar with the inner workings of educational institutions, it greatly depends on the number of students and the number of classes. The typical minimum teaching time is 40 hours per week. This could easily cover half an hour of teaching once or twice a week for 18 classes. We see far fewer students in the series.

In reality, how many students are in Beacon at any one time? Five hundred? Thousand? Two thousand? The creators, of course, couldn't afford to show so many people on the screen, but I'm wondering what is canon for the quest.

The number of students is a good question, I did just give only 40 for two classes of first years, but how many there are in all is more difficult to say.

Beacon is supposed to be for Elites, I don't think they have thousands, plural, but let's see, if we take 40 first years, say they remove one or two teams before second year, and tend to keep those that reach that point till the fourth year bar exceptional circumstances, that makes one of 40 and 3 of 32 to 36, all in all, 136 to 184... a little low... hmm... ah, I know, two sets of two classes for first years, boosting it to 80 new ones in all, and if we keep the same rate of removing students, then we get 272 to 368 students on campus at all times. more in line with a realistic expectation, particularly if we begin including students coming from abroad or beginning in the next years for one reason or another.

Does that feel like it could work for you?

Edit:

If necessary, we can add students by sets of 40 to the first years with the same logic going onward, the numbers become:

408 to 552 for three sets.

544 to 736 for four...

And on and on we go.

Though I would prefer to keep it relatively low, still *the best school in Vale*, not everyone can get in.

*Cough* Jaune Arc *cough*.

I guess it depends on what you want to see? If we accept the standard class length for higher education institutions of one and a half hours, the teacher teaches approximately 25 classes per week. Sometimes there is more. How often do classes take place, for example for team work? I would suggest that no more than 1.5 times a week on average, since the academy conducts both general education and combat classes. This will be 12 lessons for eight classes or 18 for twelve. In the case of two classes, The Princess could teach two of these subjects alone and perhaps have free time for personal lessons. This is provided that she does not want to increase her load above normal. After all, she doesn't need to sleep, what's an extra two or three hours for her?

*Cough* Jaune Arc *cough*.

Is a fraud that should not exist in canon.

He is not going to be as worthless in this universe and will not spend weeks without any improvements.

In fact, his personal arc will be about getting to the level of the others or getting the boot, most likely.

It's also Vales only huntsmen academy. If they only accept the best of the best than I don't think Vale would wind up with enough huntsmen

It's Vale's only huntsmen academy... that we see.

It makes no sense for it to have the reputation is has if it is the only one, no, there are lesser ones and this is just the best of the best, think *UA in My hero academia*.

Seriously, RWBY is full of holes like that, nothing is thought through because the writers are driven like slaves to deliver scripts after scripts kin a permanent crunch, and it compounds the longer you go on.

Jaune has no reason to not know what Aura is in the first place, Hazel is a braindead moron given his motivation is to punish Ozpin for a member of his family dying in a training exercise and he decided to follow the queen of Grimm that made the very existence of Huntsmen necessary in the first place, they try to pretend Ozma is a manipulator that do bad things but make him do nothing in his own backstory except be a victim, then blame him for it, to the point of none of the heroes reacting to his completely innocent host getting punched....

I can go on for a while like that.

Anyway, Beacon, best of the huntsmen schools in Vale, not the only one.

Edit:

In case it isn't clear, I love RWBY's base idea and potential, I loath the way it has been used.

As always, spite is a powerful motivator.

So many fanfics that began with a simple *I can do it better*.

And there are some that in fact, do it better.

I don't expect it personally, it's not my goal, but I am not going to accept the worse parts just because *it's canon*.

I already showed the White fang, there is something for Jaune, I am thinking on simply having the Brothers be *Sirs not appearing in this story* for all they matter, Hazel is going to have some brain cells infused in his head....

Vote for chapter VII closed
Right, I think the results are obvious enough:
Adhoc vote count started by Nyarky on Dec 30, 2023 at 10:32 AM, finished with 36 posts and 21 votes.

And with that, you are going to explain to poor team CFVY that the frightening lady was frightening on purpose.

I am sure that will help them sleep at night. :V

Well, you actually will make it so, so there is that, Damsel will help a little here, you can explain the effect of first impressions via giant mood whiplash.
