What are you going to do about Yin-Yang Chakra? Are we going to learn about it in the academy?

Balanced Yin-Yang Release is just the chakra used for the majority of all techniques, so yeah it'll be covered. You already have generation and manipulation of chakra down, it's just moulding it you've got no real experience with, what with not having any techniques you could actually practice it with. Bonuses next month will be for a variety of Skills, pretty much a grab-bag of general skills useful for ninja under general circumstances, survival, traps, basic weapon skills.
You're in the advanced class during wartime, which means you're skipping a lot of the stuff kids normally get taught at that age. Kakashi graduating at age five sounds impressive, but to preserve any kind of sane construction of the world that must mean he wasn't taught anything but ninja skills. Outside his skillset in a civilian situation he'd be utterly lost.

Several problems with that. As we've already seen, the monk guy who taught us/was our caretaker had seen someone who was a ninja and gave it up to become a monk get taken back by ninjas for a bounty or some shit. Who's to say they won't do the same or just kill us outright? Also, Konoha won't care that we became a monk, we're a missing-nin in their territory, they'll kill us for the bounty or to keep us out of the Land of Fire or use us as leverage if we do something that makes Kumo want us back for whatever reason. Second, absorbing the Kyuubi's chakra is not as easy as it sounds and what happened to the Silver and Gold Brothers was bullshit that Kishimoto made up to explain the Sora Arc. Bijuu chakra is deadly and for good reason. It could very easily kill us and if anyone ever finds out what we did, they'd come after us anyways even if they didn't care about our missing-nin status, because they'd either want to control us/force us to join them/extract the bijuu chakra and make the pseudo-jinchuuriki from their own forces. Plus, I believe the wiki said that Sora had problems containing the chakra of the Kyuubi and again, for good reaason. Only an Uzumaki can contain the Kyuubi without problems and we're not one.
And becoming the God-King is pretty much what everyone else was going for when they chose the ninja route anyways. Going home is too much trouble so why bother?

That was more a comment on what might happen after the quest ends, not right now.
I had similar ideas about being a monk but I'm over it now. We can probably still gain what we want from them later if we play our cards right and we might not have to join either. What was said about their interaction with supernatural entities was very interesting though. I was thinking about how we couldn't summon, couldn't bind others spiritually, or resist breaking ones on others, and then I thought about spirits and demons.
The above originally got me curious, but then I remembered that one of our traits...

So right in the quote I had an extreme idea as to how we might be able to still take advantage of our trait, even though it puts up some resistance to what we want. I was thinking of using some heavy fuinjutsu to bind ourselves to said entities. Basically, we would use non-ordinary spiritual binding; heavy duty stuff similar to getting jinchuriki or curse seals might fit.
If not that, I expect us to make some exotic weapons since we have that weapon bonus, so I thought that we should see if our weapons could gain from the spirits or demons by receiving boons anyway we can. Imagine if we could get a spirit/demon inside a blade or whatever weapons we have, or get them to share some chakra with us or any powers we might want through a weapon. I'd be like an uber Ten-Ten with weapons like Sameheda or some other weird tools, except we'd use them instead of throw em'.
But if that's out too, even talking to them might be beneficial.
And if we can get strength from them somehow, all the better. Might be a question for when we're older but I really want to see if we would be equipped to devour spirits or demons because of our void nature. I'd think we'd have similar possibilities of success compared to the two brothers. Gonna need to confirm the nature of our chakra first though.

We might want to go into Fuinjutsu to develop this technique: Summoning: Lightning Flash Blade Creation
For our Ninjutsu, we should see if we can get access to Black Lightning. It's the Third Raikage's technique and if we're good enough at Lightning manip we might convince him to teach us.
Also, we should check out how Genjutsu is effected by our Void Chakra which would open another area of enhancement. If it makes the chakra harder to detect, we might be able to use subtle genjutsu to supplement our skills.

The first month at the academy feels strangely sedate. Granted you're all around the age of five so it's not surprising exactly, but all the same. The instructors are a patient lot working with you all, covering the material as thoroughly as they can. Of course you just read the textbooks from cover to cover on the first night but you have the advantage of having figured out a good half of it out in advance. They do cover the moulding of chakra for techniques and the hand seals, which is of actual use to you thankfully. No techniques themselves in the book, probably the old principle of not wanting ninja getting caught up in the flashiness of techniques instead of focusing on the fundamentals.

The other kids in the class you're not really sure what to make of precisely. Probably they're all clan kids, they're quick with the material and they've all had training prior to the academy, at least going by their progress. They're still kids obviously, they joke and play, even if there are subtle social reasons that escape you why certain kids always play together, or avoid each other except for being strictly polite to each other. It's not like you know any of them, you haven't exchanged any words with them, nor they with you. You guess they aren't sure what to make of you? You guess you did kind of show up out of nowhere and none of them know who you are. Barring one kid who seems freaked out by you and flinches every time you go near they've not really reacted to you overmuch.
You've resumed an old habit of training your agility through walking on narrow ledges. Granted it's considerably more precarious up here but it certainly works, even if habitually jumping onto high beams and perching on objects might make you a bit birdish. Lightning is more of the same as you ever did, it's just a matter of trying to more effectively convert pure chakra to lightning nature. Control on the other hand you've been developing by adding moulding of chakra to your regimen of focusing chakra at each tenketsu then shifting across them.
