[X] My name is Khagan Feruza. Nice to meet you all. My dream is to survive the ninja world and (hopefully) retire peacefully. My goal is to learn everything I can to help me survive. I'm pretty good at Taijutsu and I know some decent Lightning Manipulation. I'm also good at chakra control. I hope to get along well with you all. Please take of me.

Also being ~6 years old probably makes her overall less effective in hand to hand combat.
Also sort of disagree on the dream and goal thing, Personally my goal is to have Feruza take out an S rank combatant or tailed beast, preferably by railgun to the face. Not sure what exactly everyone else wants for the protagonist though.
[X] Yes, I'm Khagan Feruza. I have good chakra control, a moderately trained lightning nature, and above average agility. Please take care of me.
Gotta say, great improvement already in characterisation.
I'm guessing that Fumio is from a clan and already heard about us from some relative or else is just good at going with the flow.
Well, IIRC, Kakashi did, and it made him the youngest ever graduate in Konoha, and maybe even the elemental nations. Depending on exact birth dates, we might have beaten him out for the title. So yes, even in a topsy-turvy world that includes wartime deployment of nine-year olds, we're pretty freaking weird.

"Yes, I'm Khagan Feruza. I have good chakra control, a moderately trained lightning nature, and above average agility. Please take care of me."
The Jonin nodded. "Right. So I'm Kuga Kyou, and I'm your team captain. Whilst you should certainly focus on your own abilities awareness of how to operate in a team is essential, particularly during a war. An important part of that is working your strengths and weaknesses together so you have a battle strategy and preparations in advance of actually get into any conflict. Too many get caught up in winning their individual fight and forget that the conflict is always larger than a single person. So in order to deal with that you'll discuss your team now and what roles you think you're suited for."
Fumio raised his chin. "I'm assuming you already know what we're best suited to, Kuga-Sensei?"
"That's correct. I feel it's important you discuss it for yourselves now. Certainly I could just tell you, and then offer an explanation, but ultimately I feel you'll operate much better if you figure it out what will and won't work for yourselves, and most importantly, why that's the case. Now I'm going to get my lunch, you've got half an hour to discuss things before I get back." Kuga headed to the door and gave a little wave before heading out.
Fuji raised her hands. "Before we get into that, I have to know why you're here with us Feruza-chan, it doesn't make sense."
"Ah you're right. Money is the answer. I bought my way onto the team by having my family make a huge donation to the village."
Fumio solemnly nodded his head. "It really is a tragic indication of the corruption of government when it comes to money."
Fuji let out an exasperated scream. "Seriously! I need to know! No messing around!"
"I was involved in a small scale incident during a trip with the academy. In recognition of my role in that event and my advanced skills I was permitted early graduation."
"...well, okay, that...sort of makes sense, but what was that whole thing with the delivery or whatever?"
"I figured if I showed up and said I was going to be assigned to a team that most of the room would react like you have. I'd be answering questions forever. Easier to just let them dismiss me as unimportant."
Fuji furrowed her brow and made as if to say something else but Fumio interrupted her. "With that out of the way, we should get on with it, yes?"
You both nodded and he continued. "Well, it's probably most convenient to look at the objectives teams are expected to fulfil. Front-line combat, Tracking, Pursuit, Sabotage, Disruption, Infiltration, Defence, Scouting, and Courier. Immediately we can eliminate front-line combat, for that we'd all have to be combat specialists. As a Genjutsu user I'm best suited to making the enemy vulnerable to a finishing attack. What can you do with your lightning Khagan-Chan?"
"I don't have many ninjutsu as yet, a straightforward attack and one that makes a moderate region dangerous to move through, so area denial I guess, limiting mobility."
"With Fuji to engage and take down targets, that sounds like the beginnings of a plan. Thoughts?"
Fuji spoke up again. "I'm pretty confident in my Bukijutsu, at least against single genin, so as long as we can keep control of the engagement...I guess that sounds reasonable."
Fumio continued. "So with all that in mind, I think Disruption is probably where we're best suited, souring battle lines to bias engagements against the enemy. We don't have any tracking abilities, I wouldn't say we're overly stealthy, courier duties would be a waste, and defence is deprioritised in Kumo battle doctrine. We might do alright for scouting or pursuit maybe, we'd have to actually see how we do, I think we're alright as long as we're in a position where we can control the engagement and not where we can be overwhelmed. Well, I say all that but we still don't know all that much about each other's abilities."
You speak. "It's all going to be conjecture. Theory and a plan are good, but for things like this we'll have to practice together to get used to it, and well, no plan survives contact with the enemy and all that."
You all spend the next ten or so minutes discussing combat roles before Kuga returns, and you tell him your thoughts.
"Well you've put some effort into thinking about it, which is good. You'll have a chance to try it out and see what you can adjust. We're going to be doing some team exercises over the next week, but then we're going to be moving out of the village to the front, so make sure you're prepared for that."
Caution - You have only one week of time remaining in village before moving out, so consider what you want to do with that time carefully. Make any purchases you want to make, and allocate your time. As always, each day of training time equates to a d10 of skill points. Most any book will take a day to read through and fully digest the content.
Plan
[] Write-in
Edit: ((I really need to stop writing updates so late in the day, I end up fatigued and totally lose steam halfway through the update. Better than getting sidetracked and going days between updates I guess, but still))
[] Basics Plan
-[] Spend the week acclimating to working with the new teammates when they're available.
-[] Work the rest of our free time making E-ranks seal-less, with priority on Replacement.
These are also possible but I don't know if we'll have the time.
-[] Spend a day reading Basic Taijutsu.
-[] Spend some time working on X stat or skill.
Basic Taijutsu will probably give 20%-ish to training up to 4 or something.

Seems good, maybe purchase a storage scroll before we leave as well.
Also if Feruza is going to work on making a technique seal-less (not a bad idea) it would be good to see if she can work with the tutor she was spending time with before, which should work since they seemed to get along before.
Well, it's possible that since we have seal-less Body Flicker already, seal-less Replacement might be much less useful than it is in some Narutoverse material. Getting rid of the smoke on those techniques would be good too, unless we already did that by dint of our superior control.
Either way I really don't expect making relatively simple E-ranks seal-less/smoke-less to take much effort, since we did them off demonstration first try Itachi-style, and we have better chakra control than some chunin even.
First thing first we should probably gear up some. Right now we have 2170 to spend, and at the very minimum I think that we should get some kunai and perhaps some wire. In our inventory we are stated to have 50cm of wire, but I don't think that it is proper ninja wire. Furthermore, there might be standard list of gear that we should pick up, that might be something to ask our teammates about. Feel free to suggest modifications to the plan if you think it could be improved and/or point out any typos.
[X] Platypus Plan
-[x] Purchase 3 kunai for 1000
-[x] Purchase 2 meters of ninja wire for 1000
We aren't skilled in the use of ninja wire currently, but due to our trait "Adaptable weapon fighter" we won't take any penalty. Furthermore, it provides a good medium for delivering lighting attacks from relative safety.
-[x] Spend day 1 researching our jounin-sensei
It would be prudent of us to get some background information on the individual who will be our commander for the next several years. We should spend the day trying to get a feel for the man from third party sources. This could mean looking to see if there is some public record of his achievements, but it probably simply means asking around. Maybe Yamaguchi knows about him, maybe some of our old academy classmates knows a guy who knows him.
-[x] Spend day 2 experimenting with wire
We bought this new wire lets try it out some. We aren't going to become instantly profficient, but we at least get a feel for it. We can also ask our teammate Fuji for some input.
-[x] Spend day 3 reading Basic medical text
There probably won't be anything of imediate use in the book, but it might open up the start of the medical path. I don't really want to turn the character into a medic, or recreate the Tsunade super-strength approach. However, medical jutsu is a great way to get more out of our high chakra control. If we become sufficiently skilled it could provide a strong defensive combo with our high agility and speed. If we are not outright incapacitated by a hit we can dodge out heal up some and reengage.
-[x] Spend day 4 learning genjutsu basics
The days title is somewhat misleading, we aren't really learning genjutsu just asking Fumio about it. We can start sounding out how viable it is for us. For example, is it possible to incorporate genjutsu into our rapid style of combat or does it take too long to cast? Perhaps ask him about how one would go about learning genjutsu. Equally important is asking him about the basics of recognizing and countering genjutsu.
-[x] Spend day 5 experimenting with new techniques
We have new shinies lets mess around with them. This is time to learn the capabilities and limitations of what these new techniques can do, not the battlefield. We might also want to try to figure out exactly how they work so that the character has a better understanding of the underlying theory of lightning jutsu.
-[x] Spend day 6 practicing chakra control
You know me, I had to put this in somewhere. It is important that we maintain some momentum in our self development even as we ship out. We might want to take time to ask our Jounin instructor for advice.
-[x] Spend day 7 practicing chakra control
Chakra control best control!
Edit: From this post forwards I will be trying to explain my reasoning for each vote I cast. After a couple votes tell me if you like the idea or if it is just cluttering stuff up.
Edit 2: Day 1 changed from socializing to background research on jounin-sensei. Day 2 changed from sparring to wire practice. Day 4 changed from reading taijutsu book to asking Fumio about genjutsu basics. day 6 changed from sparring to chakra control.
[X] Plan Khepri -[X] Spend the week learning how to work as a team with the new teammates whenever possible. -[X] Spend the rest of our free time trying to make our E-rank skills seal-less, with the biggest priority being the Replacement technique. -[X] Buy a storage scroll(if we can get it/have the money)
Will add more ideas/actions if @deadcrystal says I can add more/I don't have enough actions for the week or if someone has any other good ideas.
[X] Platypus Plan
As much as I want to take a peek at Fuinjutsu to see the mechanics, I admit that if we want to prepare for what's in store it won't be much help.
I really hope that there's some battle experience - cause if missions only bring money and clearance it's kinda lame.
-[x] Spend day 1 socializing with teammates.
For this day the objective is to get to know them as people. Additionally we should try to see what if anything we missed out on by skipping so much academy time. This is the time to get basic background info questions answered. For instance, what is the basic gear load out? Do we need to purchase it ourselves or is it supplied to us?
-[x] Spend day 2 sparring with teamates.
Here we are trying to sound out their capabilites, and see what they are capable of. Right now we probably are one of the weaker combatants as we can't fully leverage our high lighting skills without proper techniques.
This is another spend of free time, you'll be doing stuff during the day with the team mates, so you don't need to worry about this overmuch. All equipment is self-purchase, most academy students are from a clan or have a family, or handed down equipment, so you're in somewhat more of an awkward position than most of them, having a fairly meagre stipend for living expenses. Food will be provided via supply lines on the field, if all is well. You missed out on some stuff by missing academy time, mainly knowledge stuff and other non-combat skills. There was also the chance you might have picked up some other jutsu, if the instructors had felt like it.
-[x] Spend day 4 reading taijutsu styles
It is only a 1 day investment for some decent knowledge. I don't think we will ever be a hand to hand power house, but some melee skill is useful.
In this case this was if you wanted to pick out a variant taijutsu style in particular to use. I'm ruling that the elemental villages basic styles have stylistic differences, but are mechanically the same for the sake of simplicity. I should actually drop some more info about taijutsu and styles here so I'm going to do a bit of an infodump.
Edit: From this post forwards I will be trying to explain my reasoning for each vote I cast. After a couple votes tell me if you like the idea or if it is just cluttering stuff up.
I am always in favour of people reasoning things out, speculating and discussing things. There's still bonus points going for anyone who figures out what's been happening in the background (Granted this isn't actually that easy given the limited information you've had access to.)
a/w, infodump.
Taijutsu you can increase to a base maximum rank of 4. Ranks beyond that you have to gain in a specific style which will have situational advantages and disadvantages. You are only using the generic standard kumo taijutsu style atm. You have the Discharge Strike variant, but that's not a style that's just me saying you dump an electric charge into someone on skin contact
If you're have an idea for a taijutsu style you think works and is neat, feel free to just make up the details.
Nature Manipulation! Whenever you convert pure chakra you lose some to inefficiency, working as such.
S Rank - Perfect conversion
A Rank - 1/5 Lost
B Rank - 2/5 Lost
C Rank - 3/5 Lost
D Rank - 4/5 Lost
E Rank - 9/10 Lost
Water, for which you have a secondary affinity, whilst you can get to S rank you can't get perfect conversion with. The three elements for which you have no affinity you won't be able to get better than a 2/5 loss ratio, even if you somehow break the B rank cap on non-affinity elements.
Part of the reason Kakuzu was such a broken-ass character is that he effectively has an affinity for every element, allowing him to toss around S-Rank elemental techniques for all elements like god-damned candy.
Every element has intrinsic qualities you can make use of, or that would have effects when channelled through special chakra-metal.
Water - Flow, crushing force.
Fire - Burns stuff good.
Air - Cutting, insulation, distributed force.
Lightning - Vibration, penetrative force, shock, speed.
Earth - Defence, construction, gravity.
Whenever you reach S-Rank in any Chakra skill (however far off that might be) you can pick up a special trait from a list. Whilst you can't exceed S-Rank, you can continue improving that skill and eventually pick up an additional trait, and then on. Similar to Legendary skills in 40k quests in that regard.
Right then. I will be back later tonight to edit my plan post to take into account the new information.
It sounds like this would be great time for us to begin to discuss exactly what we want to do with taijutsu. I for one am fine with never leveling it past 4. Our agility and speed should allow us to dictate the distance most fights happen at, and as I have said I don't see this character becoming a melee specialist. Furthermore, I believe as a general rule that what can be done unarmed can be done better armed. However, if anyone has some interesting ideas about a taijutsu style or simply what they want to see done on the two days that have been freed up please share.
