[X] Tyranosaurus Rex: The Tyranosaurus Rex was initially created by InGen as the primary attraction to the park. While the discovery that the find was a tyranosaur was extremely uplifting and promising for the future of the park, the question of what to graft to the genetic sequence puzzled the scientists. It was eventually decided that DNA of frogs and the secretary bird would be grafted alongside some DNA from tigers would be added when the first generation of tyranosaur came out mute. The roars that resulted satisfied John greatly and reinforced the 'unusually' hollow bones the first gen had. The unexpected addition of stripes to the scale hide of the resulting tyranosaurs. They are kept in a paddock far enough away from the staff facilities that both the staff and the animals are comfortable.

Well, if the votes continue like this, then we are going to end up being a raptor, which is the usual for me. Except if we end up female then it's a completely different beast.... If you disagree then all I can say is this.

[X] Tyranosaurus Rex

Enough of these overhyped raptors and upstart Carnotaurs, time for this island to remember who's on top.

Hail to the King, baby.

Honestly, I'm torn. The T-Rex is amazing, but it's also not super likely to win, because for some unknown reason people seem to want to play the smallest, least threatening on its own (we're playing a singular dinosaur people, not a pack), dinosaur on the list.

We'll be away from prying eyes in our remote little paddock, and we don't need vision with our great sense of smell. I see no downside to being a Rex.

The only reason the T Rex has bad eyesight is because InGen were morons and spliced in frog DNA.

Which is also why so many of the dinosaurs could breed; some frogs can manipulate their procreation equipment and don't need a partner to have babies.

wanted to play as Sam Neill... but being a pack of smartass birds sounds awesome!:lol

That great sense of smell was absolutely useless when the Rex was was a foot away from Grant and Lex, and sniffing them.

Yes, normally their sense of smell is awesome, better than a dog's, but this is Jurassic Park.

I agree, the fact that the Rex couldn't smell stinky humans a foot from it has bothered me from the moment I learned about how well tyranosaurs could smell. For the purposes of this Quest, I'm going with the belief that, that Rex had a cold or was just playing with its food and screwed up and tossed it over a cliff by mistake at the end of that scene.

Thankfully, Jurassic Park themselves recognized their mistakes here and fixed it in the Lost World sequel by having the Rexes chase the human party down throughout the island, by scent, and hasn't really brought up the movement based vision thing again in a serious manner.

Edit: The reason I brought up the movement based vision thing is because while that may have been caused by the frog DNA, it was relatively easily fixed by T. Rex just by cocking its head or moving its eyes whenever it thought it needed to see something that wasn't moving. Plain old walking on its own could also solve the problem relatively easily. Sorry if I offended anyone with my blunt way of stating this. Further apologies if my apologies feel odd to anyone... I'm Canadian and saying sorry, on my part, can't be helped. It's a bad habit I'm trying to kick but am failing at.

I was tempted to vote for Triceratops to gore things to death, but I wanted the biggest baddest meanest mothereffer on the island instead. Which sadly doesn't look like its going to happen.

I would say that in regards to importance and danger, if not literally physical size, the raptors take that spot. Highly dangerous and awesome in 3 movies soon to be 4, the very first dinosaur introduced in Jurassic Park (and with a bang) and of course none of them got offed two minutes after they appeared in any of the movies :p

Just realized that we are going to be born on Site B... which we all know what that means right? We are going to be on the island where the 2 first sequels took place, so we are going to be living and eventually encountering overly aggressive comps, a mated pair of T-rexs, and a bloody mutated Spinosaurus.

Run for your bloody lives. It's still alive!!!!

Mutated how? Either way, it's several years early, the Spinosaurus might not be fully grown yet...though, I still wouldn't want to try and fight it without a handicap or something as Super Velociraptors.
