Ah Spinosaurus. One of the most inaccurately designed dinosaur in Jurassic Park, though like the lack of feathers that's because JP3 predated new fossil evidence(not to mention certain executive decisions based on JP3's dinosaur expert(a man with a grudge against both the T-Rex and the depiction of his expy* in JP2)). For anyone interested this is what Spinosaurus is now thought to have looked liked.

No way is that thing going to move all that far from the nearest river/lake. Really goes to show the truth about Dr. Wu's statement that the "dinosaurs" in Jurassic Park/World aren't real dinosaurs but just artificially created hybrids based on what people thought that dinosaurs looked like at the time of their creation.

If someone could please tally the votes, it would be much appreciated. Thanks. I will try to have the next part out sometime soon.

Anything you want me to cover in this discussion with Father? I'm already going to cover asking just what happened, though I'm sure JP gaming fans already have some idea of what they were. Just fishing for content and ideas here, don't mind me too much.

InGen File: AF.02
InGen File: Death's Pac Man Frog

Codenamed AF.02: Specimens of AF.02 were one of a few concept proofs that looked into the possibility of resurrection extinct species by use of genetic samples and genetic engineering. The Death's Pac Man Frog, in particular, is an example of the necessity of the single gender procedure in use in InGen's dinosaurs today. The AF.02 specimens were created to replicate the fossil of a recent unnamed discovery believed to be a giant frog. Due to the uncertainty of how large the unnamed discovery is, the creator of AF.02, [REDACTED], aimed for a larger size estimate of 2 feet in length and weighing 6 kilograms at which point he had instructed the genome to introduce a growth inhibitor to prevent further growth.

Originally released onto [REDACTED] after being shown to investors as part of the de-extinction showcase as a cluster of five specimens, one male and four females, the population of the AF.02 specimens is rapidly becoming the highest density it can on the island, replacing the smoky jungle frog as the dominant predatory amphibian on [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]. While it is not currently known how the specimen species managed to reach [REDACTED], it is suspected that it managed to do so by human accidental means. As a result, it is now InGen policy to inspect every incoming and outgoing ship and plane for any potential specimens to prevent a potential new invasive species from either coming or going.

The Death's Pac Man Frog was originally created using the Pac Man Frog as a base genome and adding the growth gene commonly found in male lions to increase size. As of yet, no genetic samples of the aforementioned unnamed fossil frog have been discovered so the Death's Pac Man Frog is the result of pure genetic tampering and was used as a proof of theory for that. Thankfully, from what has been observed of the wild specimens thus far, AF.02 have continued to follow the genetic template of reaching 2 feet, 6 kilograms quite consistently though some of the scientists in InGen believe that there may be outliers living deep in the wilds.

AF.02 specimens will readily consume any prey item that comes into its territory, and are quite thankfully quiet ambush predators that prefer not to move that much like their Pac Man ancestors. Unfortunately, like their Pac Man ancestors, the Death's Pac Man Frog also has tooth like projections in its jaws that act a little like teeth and can inflict quite a bite on an adult human being. These projections in the frogs jaw make it near impossible for any prey item to escape once swallowed. It is quite fortunate that AF.02 specimens are a canniballistic species and also quite prone to attempting to eat prey items larger than they are, which help keep their populations lower than they otherwise would be.

AF.02 specimens are often a bright green that helps them to blend in with pond scum or the jungle foliage and are covered in dark black/brown spots that help to break up their image and aid in camoflague. AF.02 specimens also come in other shades of green, with the occasionally yellow frog being spotted. The lifespan of AF.02 specimens is estimated from 1-4 years in the wild with plenty more added when raised and kept in captivity. Vocalizations are one of two differing traits held by this species. Males being more vocal and, unusually for a frog species, larger then their female counterparts. The size difference is believed to originate from the lion genetic implant, in which the females of the species hold the limiting gene for the growth gene.

Specimen AF.02 is often nicknamed by staff as the Green Blob, Death's Most Unwanted (DMU), and the Hopping Terror. They are not poisonous and not venomous, however bites can lead to serious infection. It's advised that humans avoid interacting with this invasive species beyond reporting sightings to superiors. Some of the InGen advisors are suggesting introducing this specimen into the pet trade. There is currently debate about the ethical issues of releasing an artificial species into the pet trade industry and the possible repercussions of unresponsible ownership could have upon the reputation of the company.

QM Note: I apologize it's taking so long for the next chapter to come out, but IRL has been crazy and I haven't had any time to actually do much. I hope to have the next chapter out tomorrow but have a file to read in the meantime.

Chapter 3:8
Chapter Three: Part Eight
Questions

Soundtack: N/A

Slowly, the normal chittering of your pack begin to dominate your immediate surroundings as they reassure one another after the terror you have faced together. Mother and her sister each take their time to speak to the siblings they carry before letting them down to make the rest of the journey on their own. Before Father can let you down, you wriggle just right to loosen his grip and free yourself without injury.

Absorbing the impact of hitting the ground in the manner you've been taught, you transition into a swift spin to look at Father. It's a bit unfortunate that you underestimate the amount of force the drop gave you, resulting in you accidentally tossing yourself to the first floor. Father chuffs to himself as you huff to yourself in embarrassment before shaking yourself of any clingy loose soil. As you look yourself over, you can hear one of your siblings chuffing alongside Father. You don't care too much about that, entertaining moments like this tend to happen to everyone at some point or another. You are sure that soon enough the circumstances will shift in your favour.

A wet, strong, familiar object presses itself against your head, and you whine, "Father, do we really have the time for grooming now?" You don't really understand why, but for some reason being groomed by anyone's tongue other than your own in front of everyone else feels a bit more embarrassing than it should. You are sure you will get over it sooner or later.

Getting over the 'embarrassment' of being groomed as Father continues his self-appointed task after picking you up in his claws so you cannot escape, you hear your siblings asking the closest Grown to them a bunch of questions. Some ask questions about what the Hunters were, while others chitter about why the Odd were there. You move to ask a question but get a tongue to the face before you can do anything but inhale. You feel an incredibly tiny trail of saliva make its way down your face as you examine the face of Father, noting the look of entertainment there.

You wipe the saliva trail off, and chirp to Father, "What were those Hunters back there, I do not remember anything like them in the stories we have been told," gesturing with your head to your siblings when you say we. Father curiously looks you in the eye before replying, "Those were Unseen Hunters (carnotaurs). Did you not recognize the horns as we described them to you in the tales? Did you disbelieve us about their ability to vanish from sight," you continue to look at his face and watched as it shifted from the look of entertainment from before into a questioning gaze, "as we told you? Or did the disagreements between Second Female and her sisters about the existence and appearance of these Hunters confuse you?"

You are unsure of how to respond, this being a topic you do not like to think about. The existence of Unseen Hunters was always something that the Boulder Sisters and Second Female argued about. Second Female, from what you have picked up about her journeys before and after the Change occurred, had apparently wandered through a few jungles and never scented or saw anything that hinted to the presence of an Unseen Hunter there. The Boulder Sisters had traveled with Second Male at one point, for a reason you cannot recall at the moment, had gone to the plains and had seen an Unseen Hunter tempt a Strider into it's dark domain before devouring it. The disagreement was so strong between them that sometimes they were brought to the brink of fighting over it.

Father can see the indecision in you, feel it in the tensing of your muscles, and does something you do not expect. He drops you. You hit the floor and squawk in surprise. You look up at Father and see him toss you a questioning look. Apparently you had been quiet too long. "Their disagreements did make it a little hard to figure out what was truth," you answer, deciding to go with the truth.

Father seems to mentally note something as you walk with the pack, before you ask your next question, "Are the Unseen Hunters Imimoya?" Father seems taken aback by this question before catching himself. "I do not know. Mother got that word and some others from her journey while I underwent the Miracle. I only know what you do about Imimoya. However, I am sure that the Unseen Hunters are just as much flesh as we are." Decidedly content with the answer, you continue on, "Why were there Odd in the jungle? I thought you said they didn't come out from behind the Grey Vines that they patrol?" Father readily answers, apparently having an answer ready, "That is another thing I have no answer for. I suppose those Odd were intruders from elsewhere, coming to challenge the ones behind the Grey Vines. They did not smell the same as the ones I know from the pack's time amongst the Odd."

That answer is something that you feel a little confused about. Did that mean there were Odd elsewhere in the land upon which you lived? Where would they hide, that they hadn't been found yet? Before you can ask Father these things, Mother clicks for silence. She is ahead of the rest of the pack, taking point and leading us toward the clearing that will be your pack's new nesting site. She points at a bush with her snout and Father goes to the forefront of the pack to join her. Father joins her by her side, scenting the air and noticing what Mother has found. The rest of the Grown scent the air with him, all noticing the same thing. You would try to do the same but you and your siblings do not have the scent collection really needed to judge things as accurately as the Grown do. You swear you will in time though.

You are torn from your self assurances by a sound you have never heard before that sets the pack on edge.

QM Note: Sorry that it has taken so long to get this bit out guys. I was struggling with an idea for a while, but finally figured out how to go about it. Anyways, you might have noticed there is no vote options available. That is because this is only part one of this encounter. I am just finishing that part up, so you will probably see it sometime tomorrow. Anyways, I tied in a sound effect for the sound the pack hears because I can't really think of the best way to give you guys the ability to hear what I imagine is going on without it, without also giving away what it is your hearing. I like to keep you guys guessing, it means more talk in thread. (Here's a hint, its not an elk and something like it can be found in the JP fandom).

Enjoy and as always, please point out any mistakes that you can find. Discussion is greatly encouraged and tends to speed up my writing process. :)

Chapter 3:9
Chapter Three: Part Nine
Soundtrack: N/A
Second Male and Second Female are the first of the pack to investigate the strange call. As they approach the location of the bugle, the low lying vegetation around it rustles. Second Female barks, "What are you," at the bush, because the call sounded similar enough to a Precise Claw (raptor) call to warrant the question. Maybe it was a young Precise Claw that had fallen from the trees wrong, or something.

Surprisingly, two slender, rounded snouts poke out from the underbrush at your height, and click and hiss at the two. Large eyes accompany the snouts, seemingly struggling to survey their surroundings. After a few moments of observation, the Hunters seem to judge the potential threat of your pack as too great and duck back into the underbrush.

Curiosity gets the better of Second Male, who moves attempts to move the branches around so that he can better look at the hidden interior of the undercover. Despite the seemingly soft leaves, the branches themselves are stiff enough that the moment he tries to shuffle the brambles of the undergrowth around he gets smacked by them.

Second Female goes about her curiosity in a more productive manner. She leans down to the spot the snouts rubbed against the leaves of the vegetation and memorized the scent. She also examines the ground where she estimates the hind legs of the unknown Hunters would have been. Moving herself around so that light hits the spot she thinks prints would have been left in the soil underfoot, she examines them too.

She motions for Mother and Father to look at her find. Afterward, she engages in a rabble of Silent Talk conversation that goes at such a pace that not one of your siblings can get a clue of what is being shared. Mother and Father seem to come to a conclusion and signal for the pack to carry on.

Nothing else interesting occurs on the way to the clearing that will become your pack's new nesting site.

QM Note: I apologize for the small size of the chapter. I originally thought it would be longer but nothing came out, which is part of why it took so long to get out. Anyways, hope you don't mind.

Alright, vote is now closed. Normally I would call for a vote tally but I think it's obvious that the Threat B vote won. It should be out by the end of the weekend

I'm kind of surprised no one has connected the dots I have littered about in the last few chapters about what is going on but then again no one has really been asking questions lately. I'll just have to try harder to intrigue you guys.

Chapter 4: Interlude 1
Chapter Four: Interlude One
Soundtrack: Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

Somewhere far from Isla Sorna a meeting goes on as the world turns, unaware of the planet's most recent thinking members. Much of the world will remain ignorant to this for a long time. The aforementioned meeting, however, is being held by those that are...interested by the potential that Isla Sorna and its inhabitants hold.

This meeting is held in a typical board room; having biege coloured walls, a long wooden table and many chairs to seat the important people in the company, and a side table with treats and drinks for satisfying any hunger or thirst from the employees and keeping their attention in the room. Most important of all, though, is the large chair at the head of the table, where the boss, the CEO, seats himself.

At this moment, the CEO of the company is putting down a paper with a stunned look on his face. He looks to the man who brought the information contained within the papers to his attention. The informant nods, and makes as if to say something before being interrupted by the CEO, "How the hell did something this big go so long without being found out by our spies in InGen! A project this large, this expensive should have been found out long before now. It looks like InGen is only months from completing the first stage in a large scale renovation of the animal industry as we know it."

He makes as if to smash his fist into the table before stilling himself, fist halfway to the table. He takes a deep, calming breath before focusing himself on maintaining his control. Brushing imaginary dust of his dark suit, he turns his gaze to the head scientist of his company's genetics division. "How far off are we from managing a similar advance from what InGen has accomplished? Is there a chance we can replicate there feat in the next year?"

The white robed scientist adjusts his glasses, "I am afraid not sir. Hammond and his company have always been the top dogs in the genetics field. Ever since the discovery of DNA," the sight impaired man rambles on, in an almost professor like manner. To the average person, it would look like she was showing off her intellect, but the CEO could tell she was mentioning all this information to help inform the less...intellectual employees in the room. "Hammond has been funding the research and development of the best in our field. It would take at least a couple years of research before our scientists would be comfortable enough in their knowledge and abilities to begin to do what InGen has here. Even then, we would hav-"

"Enough," the CEO interjects in a poised manner, not raising his voice but making himself heard throughout the room. He turns to his...less than reputable, unofficial employee and asks, "Do we have anyone in InGen high enough in their hierarchy to get transferred into this project. I'd prefer to get someone into their genetics division, but even getting someone into their transport division would be fine. I, we need someone close enough to potentially grab something of worth." The person the CEO's gaze is upon slowly shakes his head.

Gritting his teeth, in frustration or some other emotion, the CEO leans forward with an elbow on the table and a hand pinching the bridge of his nose. A moment passes as the CEO's attempt to pacify the coming stress-induced migraine. "What of our attempts to get a hold of one of their giant, patented condors? Any success there?" The meeting continues onward in this manner for hours before it concludes. At its end, the CEO calls for the head of the genetics division, the head of his company's espionage department, and a few others in his inner circle to meet in his office.

The office is a surprisingly large area, with a redwood desk with a sufficient computer and several chairs to seat those in the room. The CEO sits in his comfortable chair as his inner circle seat themselves. Turning to the genetics department head, he asks, "How long would it take to really catch up to InGen?" The white robes man answers, "Probably a decade to get close to where they are now. More if we want to be at the point they will be at in a decade. It's going to be near impossible to close the gap between them and us unless we get some inside information on their processes."

Nodding, the CEO turns to the espionage department head. "Any clue how something this big went unknown for so long?" The CEO's piercing gaze makes the man gulp. "N-n-no clue sir. If I had to make a guess, I would say that they played this project real close to the chest. No digital data, to prevent any hackers, a tight inner circle, to prevent leakage, and high pay for all involved, to keep mouths shut and employees content. We haven't found any construction companies tied to the project, so it's likely InGen hired the construction either locally or privately. We haven't found anything on employees involved in the project so it's likely all very off the book."

Sighing, the man rubs his eyes in exhaustion. Its likely that the exhaustion comes from overexamination of how a project this large went unnoticed so long. "The Argentavis side-project was likely a ploy to attract the attention of our espionage department, to keep us from wondering why they were investing so much into their de-extinction project. The Argentavis is a more recently extinct animal so they used it to keep us from thinking of deeper applications of the de-extinction technology."

"The only reason we even found out about the," he makes finger quotes, "'Jurassic Park' Project, is because on of our spies got transferred last minute to do a boat job for cargo to Isla Nublar. From there, he made connections with more frequently used boaters who informed him of the renovations to the Five Deaths island chain. From what he has told me, it seems like they are attempting to control the entire animal entertainment business. The 'Jurassic Park' project is stage one, with the Five Deaths island chain being a potential stage two through four project. My best gues is Hammond wants to make a big play onto the safari scene by controlling the world's only dinosaur safari. Modern safari's already cost upwards of five thousand for a week with two people. Hammond could rake in even more because of the exclusivity of his saurian safari."

"This is not even including the potential advances Hammond could make in pet trade, animal care, museum exhibitions, and such. What's worst is that it seems that the intellect of some of the dinosaurs on the islands are displaying signs of high intellect, primate levels of intelligence." The espionage head cradles his head in his hands for a moment, before continuing "That means that InGen might even get into the intelligence research field." The blank looks given to him by everyone but the genetics head cause the man to groan, "The scientific field with the hand signing gorillas." Looks of understanding light the room, even as the genetics head chuckles into his hand.

"I managed to land multiple teams of men on to Isla Sorna to get a look around at the conditions of the island. The first group I got there were your average poacher team, with a bug that transmitted sound to a receiver in my office. They lasted a couple days in the bay of the island before They encountered what I think were dilphosaurs. The transport informant got some base knowledge of some of the inhabitants was given a tour of Isla Nublar, so we have some knowledge of what InGen has." Padding some sweat off his brow, the spy head continues, "The second group I managed to get to Sorna was another poacher group. I informed them of the dinosaur threat on the island and convinced them to avoid scaling the sheer cliffs by telling them of the bay. They stayed there, before informing me of a giant crocodile that was sighted sharing the drop off point with them. They attempted to capture it for the hide of the animal. Only three men of the fifty man sized party survived. My most recent group were a twenty man troop composed of mercenaries. I haven't had a chance to reconnect with them since they lost seven of their party to raptors in one of the prairie habitats on Sorna. We tried to connect last night but a bout of bad weather prevented such. I hope to retrieve some good news from them later tonight."

"Lastly, I have put one of my best men on garnering with a disgruntled gambling employee of InGen. Hopefully we can manage to get something out of him." The espionage head relaxes against his chair at the smile the CEO is giving him. It's a good sign that he won't be fired because of the inability to sniff out the 'Jurassic Park' project long before it got to this stage. The CEO looks at the espionage head with a sudden look of question in his eyes. "Who is the man garnering with the possible infiltator?" The sudden question puts the espionage head off guard, before answering, "I put Dodgson to it." The answer causes the man to sigh, whether in frustration or in contentment is hard to tell.

"Forget it," the CEO says, "just make sure he doesn't screw this one up like he did in Chile. That is the reason I moved him from research to your department after all, to put him in an area where he can actually get something done right...and to prevent another mess. Keep your screws on him. If he makes a mess of this, I want any evidence of his connection to BioSyn after the Chile incident erased and him in jail unable to testify a connections to us after that point. Am. I. Clear?"

The intensity of the CEO's stare frightens the espionage head, causing him to shrink back an inch. "As crystal, sir." He answers. The CEO nods, "Good. Meeting dismissed."

This is what you get when you don't ask questions. Smacks to the face. The BS roll stood for BioSyn roll. The six men that died in the jungle, BioSyn poachers. I have hidden similar hints for the other rolls elsewhere in the story. Use logic and you may or may not succeed in answering the unanswered questions.

Eh, don't worry. The stuff you guys missed wasn't super important stuff. It was mostly just stuff I was tucking into the background, waiting for a suscpious reader to question and potentially over-analyze. Things like random people showing up in the jungle just in time to distract the Carnies, or injuries and behaviour within the pack. I have a whole world in my head and hidden in my notes, so sometimes I forget that I have only gifted my readers with just a limited view of what's going on.

When I remember (most often everytime I write), I hide little bits into the chapter and leave it to eventually be found. The labelled rolls I mentioned were just stuff I was kind of hoping would create a small panic when I posted the last couple chapters. It didn't, but I have hope still that someone will make the connection eventually. Just remember that if a roll has a weird or ominous name, like Ch4Di or Hunger, then there is probably so,etching I'm hinting at. The Ch4Di roll, for instance was just real short form for Chance for Distraction, while the Hunger roll was to see just how hungry the Carnies would be (hint they were really hungry).

I apologize if I sounded a tad upset in the QM Note, I was just a bit frustrated at something I read online and that accidentally transferred into my last bit of writing.

I'm Going to Extend the Voting Period by 24 hours Expect the Vote to Close tomorrow at 7PM (EST).

Is there anything I could do to encourage more talk in thread? I've noticed that the last few chapters have not had much chatter going on and kind of want to nip that in the bud before it reaches 5+ chapters of little chat. Also, do you guys know where I can find the Ad thread? I kind of want to request an ad for this quest.

I dunno. I think it's pretty common for quests with an interesting premise and ok execution to lose voters over time, especially if updates are irregular. And the less active the thread is, the less the thread shows up on the questing front page. And the longer the thread already is, the tougher for new players to read it all the way to the newest update. =/

Personally, I'd have liked to have more time skips, with only 2-3 story posts for each stage of his life. But that's just my preference. :)

Vote Closes in 2 Hours. Get your vote in while you can.

;) I'll see what I can do. No promises if a Surprise Event roll goes in the direction I want. Those happen quite a bit in the background BTW. Remember back at the river with the Mega Croc? If you guys had crit failed back then you would have been swept away down river to start an adventure home thing. Expect rolls that can go wrong that way to go that way.

Alright, vote is now closed. If I could get someone to do the vote tally for me, it would be much appreciated.
If no-one gets it I can do it tomorrow morning. It's not like its a big one this time.
