The problem there is that the benefit of having an outpost in the Massif is obvious and probably worth the cost, while also being extremely dangerous and far cheaper. The same cannot be said of a Badlands colony, which is pretty transparently an attempt to kill her without getting your hands dirty.

the brand to mark her as untrustworthy, and the Massif to give her a chance to either be useful or fail

Literally marking her with a visible sign that says traitor, liar and kinslayer. Nobody, including traitors would associate with her, whether for fear of being seen to be like her(traitors), or in disgust for her.

We will have severe consequences for virtual death sentences even if she doesn't just slip away outside our surveillance.

[X] Make your sister brand her husband. Then send them to an out of the way holding preferably near the inquisition. If she does this none of their children (if any) will suffer the brand.

Hmm, unless we got a better write in, this is what i am going for.

Keeping our enemy close would be good as well and i sure ain't risking her going to the Massif when we were just given the chance to work with them.

As much as i'd love to execute her (Kinslayer guys, thats one of the big No-No's especially when your nobility) and as much as i'm sure we can minimize any damage executing her would have (She arranged for our father to die and then tried to murder our children/Her Nieces and Nephews. Even the nobles that hate us would have a hard time painting that as bad move), branding her will result in her being a social pariah and if she tries again, well thats what gallows and guillotines where made for.
Edit: We can't revoke peoples titles or disown family members can we?
 
Maybe we should do thing we threatened her with, wend her to kill stuff as penance.

I'd also really recommend taking What once was as at this point without siege engineers we can't build siege engines. That's whole arm of military we don't have.

I really don't care about justice or revenge, I just want her to never be a problem again. And executing her would achieve that, no matter how many other problems are created.

This offer from her husband worries me. If he supports her to this extend then he wont drop her after the branding. She seems to hate us beyond reasonable self-preservation, as seen by her talk in a situation were we held all advantages. I don't think either branding or banishment will permanently remove her as a threat.

Besides even those ignorant beerdrinkers know that a traitor can only deserve one fate.
