Casualties Of War
Casualties of War

You kneel before the image of the Lady, hands folded before you. "I thank thee, my Lady, that in our hour of darkest need you have sent to us your greatest warriors."

As you finish, Yvain walks in. Wordlessly, he hands you a scroll of parchment.

You unroll it-- and then your eyes boggle.

Casualties of the Hobgoblin Attack:
10,000 Men at Arms
4,000 Yeomen
500 Yeomen Wardens
300 Villien
50 Coruer De Bois
8,000 Bowmen
5 Househould Knights
150 Knights Errant
50 Knights of the Realm
25 Musketeers

The Entire Levies of Baron Armistead and Rainier

20,000 gold in Damages to the development of the Duchy, by plundering

Loss of Tax Revenue as Barons Rebuild

30% Malus on income for Turn 21, 15% Malus for the next five turns

Yikes :o

Well, this was a huge victory nonetheless, and it's going to be a very long time before the Greenskins are a threat in Bretonnia as a result.

We're still stupidly wealthy from the counter-raid on the Druchii, right?
I did the math and you have:

(Drum roll, please)

16,500 and change Golden Gilles in your treasury.

(Well okay, assets and labor worth that much, but you get my point.)

I have also updated your people's opinions of you. Some are more permanent than others.

So, are the army numbers also updated now? Mostly wondering because Barons Armistead and Rainier are still listed as having expected levies of 4500 and 600, respectively.
EDIT: Also, oh boy our Freemen do not like us.

So that is half our men at arms, 2/3rds our yeomen, 2/3rds our yeomen wardens, 3/5ths of our bowmen, almost half of our villein, 2/9ths of our Coureur de Bois, 1/3rd of our household knights, and I couldn't find the number of musketeers

I have updated the military and added in how many Musketeers there are at peak strength.

Hey @Voikirium , since you said you hadn't updated the economic side of the state of the realm after turn 21 results, did you update the military part of things back then? Because if you didn't we added a whole bunch of soldiers during Turn 21.

I did update the military, because that was rather important for what was to come.

Cool, I wasn't doubting whether you would do so or not I just wanted to post that to give perspective on just how crippling this was to our military
;);)

>A timeline of MFW I realized the results of you adding so much food and not actually having drawn on your Men-At-Arms until the absolute latest opportunity I gave you

Turn 21 Old World News
Turn 21 Old World News:

Bretonnia
WAAAGH! Morglum Slaughters and Is Slaughtered: The dread forces of Wurzag Da Great Green Prophet, Morglum the Slayer of Errants, and Grom the Paunch alike rose up to assail the Kingdom. They slaughtered a million souls-- and the already white-bled flower of Chivalry grew even more pale.

But before all hope was lost, Philip Folcard, August Knight, Bane of Greenskin, and Clearer of Mountains beseeched the Lady for aid, as did a million other souls-- and embraced in her bosom and love, he, the Good Knight, slew Gtilla the Hobgoblin, and destroyed the horde.

Denied the cavalry aid they would have needed to draw defenders away and pinch both King and Enchantress in between their forces, the two attacked still; both were slain. Morglum's helm has found its way to the mantel of King Josu; while the Fay Enchantress shifted the form of Wurzag into a chicken before giving him away to the Duke of Bastonne, Bohemond, who had him cooked into a feast on the anniversary of his brother's death.

The only part of that axis of evil to still live is Grom, whose assault upon Parravon, though mighty and terible, was arrested by the Wood Elves, drawn from their forest by Duke Louis in return for the deaths of a dozen spirits of the Court Chaotic, who battling side-by-side with the Bretonnians forced the Goblins to flee deep into the mountains.

Though the native greenskins still yet rampage, they are being pushed back and quelled, burnt up and destroyed.

Duke Gorlois Is Dead: Duke Gorlois, lord of Courrone, died in battle against the Iron Orcs after they stormed his castle. Now the barons are divided between wishing for Arthur, a known eccentric, more fond of riding boats than horses; or his uncle, base-born but reliable. Phillipe has not declared anything-- but it would be...befouling, if he did.

The Clerics: The Clerics-- those male-born children of Bretonnia with the gift of magic-- have returned in a storm of hooves and fire and roaring mounts, slaying the greenskins. They number perhaps twenty-thousand as a full host, one not often drawn together-- but their mounts are terrible, their magics potent, and their blessing layered enough that, even so, they have put much of the enemy to flight.

In their wake, destroyed forests and species are flourishing; unicorns and hippogryphs and pegasi more fecund than ever before; and the dread tarasque, long extinct and driven so by King Jules, has returned, its wrath less bloodthirsty but yet still mighty indeed.

More Montfort Spawn: Godfrey Folcard, hero of the Border Princes, has had yet more offspring-- two sons, and a daughter, named Bertrand, Gauvain, and Ysolt.

Kislev

Rebel, Rebel: "When laws are unjust and we break them, we are called heroes.
When people are unjust and we fight them, we are called saints.
When rulers are unjust and we fight them, we are called rebels.
Let us be Rebels."

-Mieszko First

Ungol forces have thrust out Tzar Pavel's men in Praag, and put Mieszko up as ruler of that place. He has sworn he will build a new land for the Ungol, a place where they can be free.

The Border-Lands

The Missing Kids of Khypris: King Guillaume, in order to celebrate his coronation, held a tournament within the lands of Khypris. But as the celebrations raged, a small- but potent- force of Dark Elves attacked.

As the adults were busy, by some fell sorcery the noble children of Khypris, there to celebrate with their parents, were kidnapped by a Druchii sorceress. A thousand children were taken by the foul Dark Elves, for unknown purposes; among them was the King's son.

The Mercenary Lord has sworn that he will have blood for this.

Albion
Sanglo Surrender: King Cuidighthigh of the Sanglo has offered the white and gold crown of Kingship to Arzhur, bending the knee to the Dux Bellorum after the new High King beat a hundred of his finest soldiers in a single day, sans Excalibur or any of his other magical panopoly. Now, the South of the land has been unified; and named Tŷovaeren, it has been filled to the brim by soldiers and warriors as the two peoples mingle to deny the whole of the Isle to Bretonnia.

Edited in a thing I originally forgot that's kind of important.
This for refrence.

From what I just looked up, the Sanglo's were the Empire aligned faction in Albion, adopting their use of guns and cannons. Whelp, guess Arzhur's packing heat now.
