Unexpected Glory (A CK2-style Quest)

[X] To a lowly barmaid. (Gain Trait: Not so Common After All)
[X] Capital City, Alkaden (Gain Trait: Political Gossip, Gain Trait: Cityborn)
[X] was your guitar. You whiled away the hours in song. (???)
[X] who you can't recall. But he left an impression. (No Mentor, Gain Trait: Self-Taught)
[X] With your instrument (???)

To celebrate the new site and Ricky being our protagonist, I thought it's only fitting to contribute a ballad:
I Shall Never Give Thee Up (WARNING: YE OLDE BUTCHEREDE ENGLISHE)
Rick Roll starts to play

I just saveth thee from harm
Thou hateth the Orcs
and so do I, (do I)
A big promotion's what I
asketh thee of,
I wouldst be better than
any other knight!

I... just haveth my talente and belongings
But I hopest thou understand:

I shall never give thee up,
I shall never let thee down,
I shall never flee from towne and deserteth thee!
I shall never let thee die,
I shall never stray from lighte,
I shall never tell a lie,
or curseth thee!

Our acquaintance hath been not so long,
There's a dragone, but
Thou art too kind to slay it! (slay it)
So let me tell thee every-
thing through song,
I have a scripte and I
shall performest it!

Aaaand if thou asketh how I liveth.
Don't tell me thou hast no
eyes to see!
...

@StormyAngel Sorry.

You had better be. I just got done convincing myself that this was a completely serious quest and then THAT happened.

Here, have a cookie: +10 Radicalness

On an...unrelated note:
Spoiler: RickRolling
Rick Roll starts to play

Things like this are the reason I invited everyone to come up with a new name. Then everyone voted to change the last name, which was totally not what I meant.

You people are already thwarting me and we've barely begun.

[X]write in: To a family of tailors (Gain trait: Fashionable)
[X] Capital City, Alkaden (Gain Trait: Political Gossip, Gain Trait: Cityborn)
[X] was a local squire. He loved your stories, and would always listen to your troubles. (???)
[X] of some renown, named Lelliana the Nightingale (+Diplomacy)
[X] With your instrument (???)

Should have seen it coming with a name like Rickard.
Who names their kid that? Don't they know they'll be the ancestor of an Internet meme in the far future? :V

And I would have gone Rickon or Ricky or Richard or Riddick, but they were not very in-theme with the setting. So... yeah.
We'll create our own memes in this quest, I can smell it!

Ah, well I've learned my lesson. If I ever start another quest, I'm not providing any suggestions for the name. That way the puns/memes can be the players' fault.

...if only it wasn't too late for this quest.

Don't worry, I'll be sure to fill this quest appropriately with ballads :3
Our protagonist needs to utilize his radicalness and challenge the local authority with wits and rhyme!

Local authority. Lol. He is the local authority.

Er...what's that? We haven't got that far yet?

Never mind. Nothing to see here.
I mean we are in a CK2 quest, so there's always some authority to challenge. Especially if it's one of your neighbors, who have land you want.

Can we challenge rival neighbors to rap battles for territory?

Eh, the only difference I would of made would of been "Self-Taught", but I have no problems with it. That and being from a family of Tailors does sound interesting.

Sure. I'll just list that in the Radicalness options when we get there. :p
Note to self: remove write-in option during ck2 votes

More seriously though, you can, but I doubt you would enjoy the results.
Hey gotta find some way to use my cookie. Nom.

Ha. True. Maybe I'll let people add Radical Cookies to a roll of their choice, where if the roll succeeds the outcome is slightly more...radical...than it otherwise might have been. Especially if the Radical Cookie made the difference between success and failure.

We'll see. I'm still working on the exact mechanics anyhow.

I liked self taught Too. However the mentor option gives us a slight reputation boost and a actual contact who has renown of her own.(intrigue stuff) .
Also having a mentor who is Skilled teaching you , often means your better off then someone self taught unless they are some sort of genius.

It also means we prob picked up whatever knowledge she passed on, including songs, instruments , vocal tips, places and people and all sorts of new things.

Alright, I'll be away at work for the next 9 hours or so, and then I'll close the vote. Right now it looks like this vote tally system isn't working right. Here's me eyeballing it.

This plan sounds good, pretty interesting too, son of tailors who can demolish everyone's horrendous taste in fashion.

Dispatch this thug in brutal fashion,
That all may hear of your arrival!
Their taste is bad like blinded chicken,
Our senses are without a rival!
