Personal preference. I am not a fan of their units or mind magic. A bit to mechanical and i don't like the lawful good image they have. My least favourite faction in any game.

I also consider the faction garbage due to their success rate last round.

Nature, while unfavorable does match well with defence and amassing resources we are currently doing.

Death can be neutral, like us.

I can understand the first part since personal preference is personal preference. But the second point doesn't make sense to me since Dace's success rate was pretty garbage last round as well.

The advantage here is that if we get the anchor, there is one less death anchor to go around. Making either Riddle or Voldie to pick something else .

We could potentially avoid the backlash of being death of we wait revaling it. Since we just have to better than the shadows.

Irl, economy is destroyed before and after the war. Just because there's no open fighting yet doesn't mean that everything's okay right now.
Australia, I agree, is extremely dangerous, and that's why I'm insisting on getting rid of it asap. Ranches are not accessible, so might as well sell them. I'm repeating myself but i think Australia probably be destroyed soon and as Penguin already proved , she's not above kicking us while we're down.

While I would like to reinforce inner security, I think it's too early, because factions are still forming. Furthermore, nothing guarantees the canonically incompetent Ministry of Magic will survive to the midgame, especially considering the numbers given by the intrigue option.

Also, while I do admit there are nasty beasts there, I thing you're overestimating the ability of a few hundred australian wizards. Not upgraded units, just baseline wizards whose magic gets no-sold by any HoMM hero. And we still don't know where Fable mechanics come in yet.

That's why I'm advocating getting what we can, whils we can, instead of dwelling in maybes.
The Australian Wizard we had in the first timeline was so tanky that our Combat-specialized Hero with a talent for Melee combat and insane Luck/Morale procs had trouble putting him down.
He came to Wales because he wanted to take a look at HoMM3 Dragons appearing back into the world. Said Dragons were larger than Harry Potter Dragons.
Granted, he was immune to fire so that just meant he had to endure their teeth and claws.

These are the kind of people that choose to live in a land filled with Xenomorphs and genocidal wildlife.

Yyyeah, nipping that in the bud right now, that's because Oliver was level 14 when Martha attacked and it has to do with his own build and abilities as a holder of a special class. He really isn't someone you should use as an example of anyone, especially not as an example of wizardkind, considering he's a hybrid, and so is Hagrid.

Alright, I did some rereading of the thread because some of the discussions here are rather... Uninformed, compared to the list of information I gave out in the discord, so allow me to put up a few points that should have been brought out.

What the discord knew:
I'll start with the obvious. What saved the Ministry last quest was Scrimgeour. Scrimgeour who, in 1980-81 was in America. Madeye is still alive and in Dumbledore's pocket.
The one who trained the maids in combat was Madeye.
Land of the Dead is a staple of Death faction, regardless of what intentions you have.
OG Cerridwen is firmly opposed to anything that wouls muddle the natural order of life and death.
Speaking of which, you ought to start thinking about those guys too. They're kinda important, since, you know, they can choose to share intel.
Nature and Life are Empathy related factions. Keep that in mind.

Without Elizabeth with you, you guys don't have a safety net anymore. You will have to commit to a path and stay there.

Yeah... Contrarily to you, Scrimgeour managed to avoid a game over, so technically, that puts him above you on that point. Lily doesn't count since she was intended to be the proof of concept of the 'poor compatibility kills' principle.

Ah, something else from the discord that hasn't come up. You know, Scrimgeour last quest found the anchor on his paperwork. After a bit of time, anchors will form and move by themselves. Which means that it's effectively pointless to try and cockblock Riddle on that front as he's the one with The Greatest Death affinity around. It will literally fall onto his lap when the time is right, and contrarily to Dace, he's aware of the fact. Unless, of course, you feel like wasting mysticism actions every turn on it.

Sure, Oliver was an outlier given that he was the head of the preserves.
But if we were to get Druids again, I'd expect most of them to be good candidates. And probably skilled enough to not suffer the untrained malus.

Which is why I called it an army, not an I Win Botton.

I could go along with that plan if it was death.

Death is wisdom in my eyes, while order is intelligence.

Since there is a 24 hour delay .I will make that plan with death instead.
 
Empathy can be trained(even if it probably requires us to spend time getting to know our Subordinates first so we can play matchmaker) and I'm kinda hoping that some of it can be recovered by sorting out his memories of the other timeline.

If the issue is more the Nature Anchor than the city, I'd be willing to go Order just fine.
Alternatively, we could go Chaos Dace and kick things off with a trolling rampage. Wreck absolutely everything and watch the world burn. We might "lose" to the Shadows but it'll probably be a fun ride nevertheless.

I do take issue with not going for the big city though. Grails and Anchors aren't exactly inconspicuous, the Economy won't last long and the massive project at least comes pre-fortified and self-sufficient.

Mainly, this plan is a counter wagon of sorts against Order, and since we have obtained some new info on nature. Mainly the affinity trouble. That's why we are going death.

First we got contacting the ministry. Mainly to let them know we are preparing for bad times. They already suspect it, so telling them it won't hurt. It will suspect worse things.

Next we got salvaging ranches. Chance of some unexpected boosts, and money in the short term. Big project for the school I am intending to bring over. Things that goes together has a bigger chance of making the action succeed. It also makes the Abbots likes us better, which is positive I guess.

Security chief, because we don't want to offend the ministry, and might give us something interesting. The chance of succeeding is also higher.

The Rumor mill gives us info about what happens around us. Its rather useful. Spying on Voldie might give us a bonus on the Alfie action. Maybe give us a clue on how to fix that curse.

Death Anchor. Obviously. The faction that most likely have something that can delay HB.

Dace's rebellious daughter, very impulsive, she did, however become more agreeable after her graduation from Hogwarts and seems to be trying to connect with Dace. Her learning recently about Dace's disability had her becoming more docile. Still, her marriage with Rosier causes their newborn relationship to be strained.

SL3: Divine Wrath: Aife's hatred of Evil in all its forms lead her to teach your people techniques she learned from somewhere to fight them.

Aife will hate us if we go Chaos or Death and training Empathy might be a big part of getting her on our side.

The same might apply with regards to Social Linking and/or keeping Dumbledore from becoming our enemy.

Death comes for all, and for those who welcome it, safety. A cradle. A bed where all will lay to rest, even the world itself.

- -1 Morale to all living units passing through dead lands. Will spread indefinitely if left unchecked.
- Impossible to cast spells over level 1 for everyone, including death faction members.
I think people might care if the land starts dying due to Dace's existence. Might make us additional enemies unless we find a way to keep it in check.

No spells does make battles more predictable though. And the fog machine is great for keeping your true numbers hidden.
 
Individuals have magic types that they are more or less aligned towards and anchors tend to seek out like-minded individuals.

Ah, something else from the discord that hasn't come up. You know, Scrimgeour last quest found the anchor on his paperwork. After a bit of time, anchors will form and move by themselves. Which means that it's effectively pointless to try and cockblock Riddle on that front as he's the one with The Greatest Death affinity around. It will literally fall onto his lap when the time is right, and contrarily to Dace, he's aware of the fact. Unless, of course, you feel like wasting mysticism actions every turn on it

Perhaps my infodump wasn't clear enough?
