Under the Open Sky (CWMGQ Spinoff)

I think its the charm spell implication.

Ditto. The guy comes across as way too suspicious for me.

Admittedly with Anna's complete and utter lack of romancing skills and tendencies MG Night Sky is probably one of the best bets for romance. For the simple fact we probably won't start it on our own in character, and MGNS is probably the only one who is blunt enough for us to even notice what is going on. Admittedly we would probably interpret casual skinship/sexual harassment as interest if that were the case, but it is a plausible way for us to start one.

Anna's social skills are really bad in retrospect.

... So Flawless Paladin is totally an undercover UD agent, right? She's too nosy by half and in one update Anna got a bad feeling about telling her anything about the attack she single-handedly diverted.

Her bad feelings are usually right/lead to some unpleasant truths.

Also, Night Sky is basically a bully.

Also, we shouldn't really be focusing on raw damage I think. We're a maker level MG, we're never really going to get up there (and yes, I saw the quick and dirty damage calcs kellego did a couple pages ago), but our effects and the Abilities we can stack get kind of ridiculous.

We're basically the scout. Enough damage and skill to go out and come back and the Abilities and Affinities to spot just about anything we need to.

Yeah, Paladin's a spy. I figure they leave her alone so as to feed her false information, and because they don't want to risk the UD replacing her with a spy who's better at their job.

Paladin is a spy.

Everyone knows she's a spy.

Everyone else knows that everyone knows she's a spy.

The problem is if the Unified Darkness tries pulling her out, then the Unified Light will lock down on any chances to slip in a replacement. So they're not doing anything about it. The Unified Light isn't doing anything about it because she's such a bad spy that she's actively hindering the other Unified Darkness spies in the area as well since she actively seeks them out to 'report' and thus revealing them, while she also passively confirms someone isn't a spy by grilling them like she just did to Summit.

The whole thing is a circus of errors, and Paladin is too stupid to see whats happening to keep her alive. She just thinks she's that good when she really isn't.

Kei is skeev. No one likes him. The problem with dude romance though is getting some one with a name who's not shit to get to stepping and stay alive. Traits attractive in soldier Boys aren't conducive for magical girls who are still girls hooking. Like Nepean and James.

Also other magical girls survive longer.

Guys! New shop items! These are expensive but holy shit do they look fun.

Also to chip in on the Kei thing... yeah, I don't like him. He comes off as being a complete creep.

Also is it part of CW's setting that MGs get a free "You are now also attracted to girls if you weren't before" from Gaia or was that just Rukia that added that on?

Huh, those new items look interested. Looking at our current levels, Panoply is level 26, Ceaseless Warrior is level 21, and Aegis Field is level 17. Perhaps we should try to get the three Abilities to level 30, then consider the Super Abilities?

There's still quite a few things we should get before we start banking that colossal 3.5k XP for dem super abilities though.

Namely,
1. Inchoate wave
2. Versatility of Form x 1 or 2 (So more abilities can be synergised together)
3. To Defy the Gods
4. Various abilities in the ability ladder

Though we'd probably want Panoply lvl 30 either way though, since there are some nice abilities gated behind it.

Waves first probably. We aren't scoring that much xp without the ability to kick like a mule
I'm thinking most of our ability to kick lick a mule is actually going to be tied up in all our Slayer attributes + Ceaseless Warrior + Various Panoply Abilities.

We still only get one spell per turn, so every other action is going to be smacking them over the head or using Inhuman Skill to deny their actions.

Also, re-reading, I'm more worried about Kei. Anna seems to be feeling like Kei's effect is persisting, which means it most likely is, I'm just wondering what other effects it may be having. I mean, do we have an XP siphon attached to us right now? And from the sounds of it something was restricting our ability to use our magic in general in our first session with Night Sky, and then... I don't know, she's looking at that same finger and remembering the magic string wrapped around it when she was trying to access her magic as she tells Black about Kei?

Is Kei secretly UD cause they promised him a Harem of MGs and he's restricting everyone he can in some way by casting his Charm spell on them?

I want to buy Love-Slayer right now.

Anna's ability to see Affinities has a slight effect on her, as the sensor, when she sees them. Corruption makes her skin crawl, Evil makes her short-tempered, and so on. Magical Girls have a reduced effect because she mostly notices the growth Affinity, Anna tries to avoid the Epic girls because they make her feel six inches tall (or half an inch for Divinity).

So when there's a boy her age, and Anna hasn't really interacted with boys for a long while, and he has the Love Affinity to tilt her perception...

Valid counter-point, but it doesn't change her instinctive look at... well
You need all the power you can get. Placing your hand over his you let him link pinkies with you and attach some of his magic. A ribbon of violet magic briefly flares into existence between the linked little fingers as he does so.
You draw a part of the Panoply to extend between your hands. You try gathering and releasing magic to work out how to draw it out without purpose. After a half-dozen cycles you repeat the action that had revealed the immaterial string around your little finger. Sparks appear and converge upon the line or disperse.
"Oh? If it's transient it would wear off after when your transformation drops. I doubt a human mage could do anything more than that to you."

You run a thumb over the finger with the effect on it. "I see."
She thinks there's something funny with it, and might be ignoring a slight danger from it if it's affecting her with a Love effect constantly as well actually.

Like I wouldn't be surprised if one of the things we don't know about String of Fate is that we always count as being in castable range for any of his spells.

Also, you never said I was wrong, so I will hold onto my paranoia until proven otherwise.

Well technically we can pick up multi-caster to bypass this limit. But prepping 2 or more wave force at a time seems quite straining.
 Check what Grand Dispel does and consider how it would interact with Multi-caster.

Didn't I mention that at some point?

That uses up the String until it gets reapplied tho. It's supposed to be a panic button if the thread wants some extra power in a hurry.

Kei is not aligned with the UD, siphoning your xp, or trying to build a harem of Magical Girls (those plans are just idle doodles, really).

Messenger of Ruin? Are they just that scared shitless of us cause we just soloed their small army and their boss?
You've only seen her sleeping before, but Abaddon doesn't seem to quite 'mesh' with the other angels. It reminds you a bit of Gabriel, eager but nervous.
... I'm trying to figure out if she's just young or if she's also an Angel we ended up making somehow.

The two swords remaining whole and your foe's black crossbow are Fused as well. Tendrils appearing from your Panoply to grab the items of interest.
I'm kind of curious what we got for this one. Anyone?

"There's a girl that makes dwarfs to do stuff for her." Flawless Paladin explains, "She made a big underground city out of them and used them to help keep the eastern path, Hero's Overlook, fortified. But after a while her dwarfs stop being able to tame the monsters they dig up and great titans of darkness took over the city."
... I missed this the first time through. And so did everyone else. Dwarf Fortress MG? I feel sorry for her.

I don't know where to look this up actually?[/Quote]

Translation, we ain't getting to use multiple Wave Forces in the same turn. We could probably start doing it every turn or every other turn with the casting requirements being vastly reduced with Inchoate Wave. Even without Commander Blacks super ability.

I remembered her at the time actually. I don't feel sorry though. Dwarfs require a stupid amount of attention, only to act stupid anyways. That's not even counting the Happy Fun Stuff that can show up! She fits right on in with the rest of the crazies in MGQ.

Its in the ability bible. IIRC, its an AOE that both disables active magic/buffs and temporarily prevents them from being reactivated.
I don't know where the ability bible is. I might have skipped past it by accident, but I didn't see it under the information tab or on the front page of CW's main thread.

And... Grand Dispel cancels Multi-Caster? It's an Ability, but it's a Magic Ability in a tree that has so far been all about magic. ...*Shrug*
