Titan of Steel (Dungeoncore)

I'm writing this just after reading threadmark 05 - something up with the post because the link to the next part (the >> button at the bottom of the post leading to the next threadmark) doesn't appear. I almost thought there was nothing more to read for a second. Threadmark 06 also doesn't have a << link button. The threadmark list popup has a "..." saying 1 hidden link directly in between these two threadmarks that is empty - I'm wondering if that might be what is responsible. Could be new forum upgrade glitches.

It's forum glitches.

Well holy shit the demons. That's the power of path dependency for you. Like how many demons got killed here, how much of hell got obliterated so they could continue tormenting one shitty planet they'd already effectively lost?

Basically, every chunk of Hell that was accessible from Terra Magnus' solar system got erased from existence. The only reason the entire plane wasn't destroyed in a manner reminiscent of a vacuum collapse is because the density of Hell's planar fabric drops to basically nothing away from inhabited world's.

Notably this method of dimension busting does not work against realms without a strong thematic affinity; there's no combination of Mana types that won't cancel out that are sufficiently antithetical to do the job.

So basically, Hell stuck to the stereotype so strongly that even the laws of physics became evil?

@Graviator do you like where I put the Concert Titan?
I apparently never answered this in thread until now.

The Isle of Storms is probably the only place it can exist as of story start, assuming the isle is large enough to support it.

The part that's subtly wrong is its reasons for not wanting to take up the Storm Titan's mantle. Its power source is adventurers, and while the Storm Titan can spend years trying to explain how dangerous a Grand Dragon is, that only convinces the Concert Titan that it shouldn't let its groupies anywhere near one. While it might be willing to fight a Grand Dragon should one show up and strafe a concert, and might even come out on top with some nasty sonic attacks, the impact of such a fight on its fragile resource base would be so severe that it thinks it could only do so once.

Also, even if the Concert Titan could adequately shelter its entire audience, it is nowhere near mobile enough to defend the whole island. It relies on bicycle couriers to scout adjacent villages.

The desire to look for a peaceful solution where possible is genuine, as shown by the adventurers that are part of its own defenses, but it's not its main objection to the Storm Titan's proposal. I can only conclude that the Concert and Storm Titans were completely talking past each other for that entire year-long debate.

E: If nothing else, the Storm Titan likely did convince it to research some last resort anti-Grand-Dragon weaponry.
