Btw, people who are pro-mask you still need to coordinate and get the red option to overtake the plain Full Trade for formalities sake.

[X] Full Trade II

Yeah this is straight up the best the others where finicky but this sidesteps all of that

What sort of aesthetic?

The Street appears beneath you, as the world's stable visage falls away like melting trails of hallucinatory paint. And like that, from everyday monotony, you are transferred to a road leading beyond the horizon. Its composition is endless cobblestones, opalescent like foot-sized pearls. They ask no questions, make no explanations of why you're here: they only sing a constant soft hum, like a celestial travel ditty, to encourage you to move. You walk onward and find other locations to its sides than where you began; the Street grants you the right to travel; to experience this and every other world.
-
The Street - A virtually endless road composed of opalescent cobblestones weaving through space. What you can see on its sides are flashes of various worlds from different multiversal corners, distant as if viewed through tinted glass or a thick fog.
-
The Street appeared beneath Dorian's feet, as the world's stable visage fell away like melting trails of hallucinatory paint; a nightly city with amber lanterns remade into some incomprehensible cosmic space, the interstice between the world's spatial folds.

A song reached his ears instantly, a celestial anthem produced by foot-sized cobblestones, each shimmering with unearthly opalescence. Dorian's head swam with confusion and vertigo, not from the stamina loss of the pursuit, but the sheer and abrupt alienness of his surroundings.

"Where the fuck am I?"

His questioned echoed across the cobblestones, like a message delivered to some distant eternity.

He stood there, pale and confused; after a few seconds of absorbing the foreign environment, he decided to move. Nothing more would be achieved by standing still and staring, or listening to the strange song - whose lyrics he couldn't even hope to decipher - for that matter.

-

He contemplated the nature of this Street as well, and its singing stones. Occasionally, the iridescent sheen on the roadside revealed glimpses of locations he didn't recognize from any book or geography lesson. As Dorian continued to walk the Street, pondering if he'd eventually reach some exit, the song appeared to intensify.

And then, as if out of nowhere, the next step caused him to emerge on a massive yard of smooth - almost paved, yet seamless - stone, some of it strangely painted with intricate rectangular patterns of white lines.
These seem to be the descriptions of the street in the quest so far..

To start with, the most basic techniques are cosmetic shapeshifting (change height, skin color, voice, etc,) and fairly decent regeneration (becoming swifter if you feel threatened, annoyed, etc.)
Just a short note - regarding regen, I'm a huge fan of such ability. Probably my favorite ability there is. I like being aggressive and there is nothing that lets you be more aggressive more than ability to undo any long lasting harm your action might have brought to you. You can just go go go as fast as you regen. Regeneration was one of the main reasons to pick up Viscerality and getting it right out of gate is just great. One of the big issues with Masks is that we need to do something specific to heal, so if we get knocked out while not having exact regen mask on we are in a pickle. Just having regen on all the time fixes this a lot. Needless to say this has a couple of synergies with Crimson Lost; now we can heal other people using our own blood since it is a free resource, and we can store or pull out more of our blood for combat purposes.

Cosmetic shapeshifting might look redundant with Glass, and that is because it is. However once you get past that into basic combat mods two abilities work together surprisingly well. You can give yourself talons, for example, and still make it look like you have normal hands. You could look like Resident Evil boss and most people would still think like you are just a guy. That's pretty decent. We don't want to go overboard with it since it is still -Charisma when you don't have Glass or you are talking with entities capable of seeing through it, but it is still interesting.

Shapeshifting offers a ton of interesting possibilities. For one we will likely want to have some kind of internal storage for our important masks, as well as mechanism that lets us swiftly swap masks without having to use hands(at least until Glass evolves to this point). We could have mask that lets us store different bodies we have, so we have combat body, escape body, talking body etc as needed. Depending on interactions with Crimson Lost we could have blood that is acidic, toxic or the like.

Man I'm really excited to dive into these two systems.

[X] Full Trade II

Dumping morality certainly makes for an interesting build! Let's see how it works out for Dorian. At least this Warlord doesn't more horrific than the competition, and won't be in a position to exploit any backdoors created during Visceral implantation.

With the all the info I could get my hands on, the lack of action that the Zombies are taking seems to suggest that they generally just stopped caring
They could wipe out every other sapient on the planet and not have to worry about repopulation ever being a problem cause they already have a sorta more difficult way to multiply (but who cares if all the opposition is dead?), but they haven't
They could enslave every other sapient on the planet given some effort, but they haven't

Hell, they even bother making fair deals now
I'm not saying the zombie overlords are good (Like Acolyte said "They killed billions") but I would rather sell my magical Warhammer 40k model kit to a evil overlord thats retired then one still active, but either way its not like they're gonna use it for much considering their overwhelming advantage

One thing to consider is Import, as we are likely to get a build vote once we get Viscerality. The question is as always, do we SAVE or spend. There are two things to consider here - the first is our generation rate. If we managed to get a good deal of Import, and we did have decent activity, then SAVEing makes more sense as we are closer to an EFB equivalent. On the other hand, if our generation rate is not that good, basically if we are in 7~8 range, we might consider just getting a FB for values sake, since waiting too much will just harm us. In case we are at 10+ we would get to a point where we can buy 2 possibly synergetic FBs, although in that case we would still rather save.

The second one is context. On the one hand, should trade go through like we want it to, we are in quite a strong position going in future worlds. With regen and ability to craft defensive abilities as needed we should be well set up to survive, and then we just trade with masks and develop our abilities. On the other hand, in this early junction getting something to startup either of our power systems might easily shave off weeks of effort on our end, and depending on which worlds we end up in this might generate a great deal of value.

Speaking of jumpstarting, I wonder if we could copy Warlord's power for a bit to deepen our starting understanding of Viscerality? Even getting two days ahead of the schedule could have important long term ramifications...

I love this idea so much. Totally in character for Dorian to reflect the boss man with no compunctions.

Dare we even add it to Full trade II?

We have meta resource called Import. Import can be spent on build votes to upgrade our abilities in very powerful ways. We generate it in thread with various activity. On April 13th, page 25 we had 5.5 Import. Nine pages later, on April 18th, we had 6.8 import. Currently are at April 30th 15 pages after the last tally, and we have pretty decent activity in the meanwhile. As such we can expect a decent amount of import - even something like 9+ is not out of the reach.

The power of Import is such that expending it correctly is a very important tactical consideration. We can either purchase powerful abilities, or SAVE for even more powerful abilities down the line. The reason for this is that there are three tiers of purchase, of which only later two are important, the FBs (5 point ones) and EFBs(15 point one(??)). EFBs are so overwhelmingly powerful that usually just getting by and SAVEing for them is the play.

In case that our rate of generation is super low(i.e. we are at <8 next vote) we might consider getting FB anyway simply because we would lose on too much value otherwise. Likewise, very specific FBs that jumpstart our Mask/Viscerality power curve might also be useful enough to consider splurging on them. This is what the post you are responding to is pondering.

If Dorian can do it easily he will do it, otherwise no point in doing it.

Not everything has to go in the write in, some things you can just add as tactics.

Someone - Firefrog, specifically- asked that on discord; Birdsie said it would be nearly or entirely worthless to growth rate, except maybe for copying specific techniques.
birdsie said:
If you want full Viscerality, then instruction / flawed copying is kind of beyond a worthless waste of time.
Viscerality is vibe-based.
If you want to improve the basis, cultivate your self-interest and anatomical knowledge.
Firefrog ⤷Oh even if we already had it at that point?
Triply so.
Having demonstrations of what Viscerality does is at best useful for particular techniques.
But it's not as if you are an uncreative sort.

That's very important information, actually. We don't have anatomical knowledge, however we are in world that is quite advanced in that regard, so we could see if we could get biology or anatomy book or PDA. I wouldn't be against trading Specter for this, various supplies and a gun, although this is mostly because I'm very high on guns. Guns plus marksman mask that boosts it and gives us accuracy would be very powerful 1st world weapon. But yeah, getting a couple of anatomy books and Sage mask that lets us learn fast could help us a bit.

Speaking of trading masks, I wouldn't be against trading something for Visceral bank actually. This might seem pointless at first given that we have magic itself already, but it is actually crazy good if you think about it. Visceral bank is likely mundane so copying it with magical means shouldn't be too hard, hell we might even be able to transcribe it into Tome of Visceralism. Then you just sell it at high price to other worlds because hey, literally free magic. In general we need to set up basic inventory of stuff we wish to sell to people, which basically means stocking up of easily reproducible stuff that is artifact level tier in other worlds. You have Visceralism bank here, but even something like "download Wikipedia" kind of thing in medieval world civilization would be groundbreaking, and thus valuable.

It is fine if we pass on Visceral bank right now, especially since we can make our own at some point anyway, but in next worlds we should be on lookout on available and reproducible things we could offer at high price in other universes.

I really like writing evocative names for this setting, got lots of room for variety

I wonder if the QM will mind if I make posts with descriptions and drawings of Streetwalker ocs

Given how emotion and feelings power Visceralism we should make a mask of narcissus to give ourselves a full 8ish Potential focused effect solely on making ourselfs as self obsessed as possible to then fuel a grand working of Viscerality to provide the best body possible that we can then just have regardless of whatever mask we equipped.

As to what said mask should look like, uhh I guess a face carved from marble with a mirror on the inside such that we can gaze upon our perfection at all times
