The Radiant Shepherd - A Warhammer 40K God-Emperor Quest

Isn't this a local single-sector conflict? Very tragic, very sad, trillions died, completely and utterly strategically irrelevant. Why is this deserving of half of our action points? Is there some sort of worthwhile mcguffin there? A hero who'll domino effect some Great Victory later on?
As others have mentioned, stopping the Arch Arsonist Snagrod is actually more the goal here, dude creates one of the largest ork empires of this time. without the freak bad luck that hits the Crimson Fists we could prevent numerous Imperial worlds from falling.

-[] Commute (4 point)
--[] Trajann Valoris, Captain-General of the Adeptus Custodes:
Calling for him and the rest of the Custodes to resume his duty, for the Emperor is the Imperium, and to defend the Imperium is to defend the Emperor. Cancel the Edict of Restraint and let the Custodes glaives and Volkites faces the enemy of humanity once more

-[] Send Visions (5 Points)
--[] Pedro Kantor of the Crimson Fists:
A vision of Burning green beasts rise and direct their lust for war against the red fists of Dorn, their war cries echo across Rynn's World with flame and inhuman glee. Battle rages as a stray missile strikes and brings destruction to a great fortress. Victory comes with great cost, but there is no one path, and another can be taken to greater victory with less loss.

-[] Blessing or Curse ( 1 Points)
--[] Creed:
Already gifted with the potential of military Genius, his fate shall be gifted with some favor of fortune to survive the coming battles. A missed bullet here, a Chimera unexpectedly sped up before an explosion there, keeping him safe from random death. So that may his path lead to salvation of many and the Death of the enemies of Mankind.
I like it, each action accomplishes something for us.

As mention, it's to try and get rid of Snagrod. Without his empire ( again, rival with Gaghzkull ), there will be more force in Ultima available to deal with Kraken

It's REALLY cute you think that crushing the Tau would lead to the AdMech actually inventing stuff. The AdMech is very hostile to invention and innovation, doubly so for Xenotech. Even if some toaster boys do snag some of their tech, they're most likely going to just hoard it and sit on it b/c they'd be killed if it was publicly known they have it and Forge Worlds love to monopolize stuff.
The Admech SOP is to destroy Xeno empires, and then a few year later rolling out new tech based on it, just with the numbers filed off. It so common that the Admech wind up destroying more Xeno's then the IOM does, because new shiny.

FTR.

Here are some of the lesser events in the approximating time period. While it was not actually figured into the plan and hopefully plays out similar w/o blowing up into bad stuff, it worth to be seen for some side info on what's to do next.

- Calgar was maimed fighting a Behemoth splinter, Hive Fleet Perseus, which then later drift outside the galaxy to never seen again.
- Cadian 8th ( and Creed ) gained a major series of victory .
- St. Celestine appears and saves a victory for Salamanders and the Ebon Chalice against the Black Legion
- Ragnar Blackmane assume the rank of Wolf Lord after avenging the predeccessor
- Helbretch officially becomes Black Templar High Marshal, opening campaign is declare a crusade against Cythor Fiends in the Ghoul Stars ( which imo kid of a waste and should have more use elsewhere )
- Lamas Campaign, 15 years war between the Imperium and Biel-tan, with participation of Assasinorum agents.
- Blood Angels recieved intel about DAOT genetech libraries on the Planet Pandrax III, and then, seeking a hint to cure the gene-flaws clashed with the Alaitoc Eldar . The war ends when the Eldar Farseer blew up the data library rather than let it fall into human hands

it'd be useful to know how long our turns are, would make planning for events easier, cause i don't want to miss big things because we mistakenly focus on a bunch of smaller things

For the Tau, is it wasteful to talk to their head of state and say that we're real and what they should be doing instead of what they are doing? For tech, could we not just bless anyone from Mars and expedite the spread of whatever they invent? How expensive would a blessing that gives someone the skill to perfectly interpret Tarot be? Also, is there no direct way to actually receive information from our people beyond Commune?

Without certain knowledge of how much time we have left until it's all over, we shouldn't be taking Observes that would only benefit us after several turns of setup.

Hmm, should we do something about the Severan Dominate? They are a rather large rebellion that is diverting resources to deal with it that could be better spent elsewhere.

Still, they're pretty damn tiny in comparison to everything else. They only have like what, a few subsectors in the Calixis Sector? They're beneath our notice in comparison to the Black Legion, the Plague Fleet, the Tyranid Hive Fleets, Necrons, major Ork Empires, etc.

It's Commune, not Commute. Also, amending the Edict of Restraint may be easier than cancelling it completely.

Would blessing the Crimson Fists instead of warning them get better results, you think? Giving them both would be best obviously, but would likely be an inefficient use of points.

It's a matter of letting them know years (Maybe?) ahead of time, if it's just a bless, then the same unfortunate events could probably play out that happened regardless of skill. though i am unsure what sort of things we do with a Bless, so i could be wrong.

I do think we should put more critical thoughts into the voices we're hearing since past experience with Azel has shown even minor details could be important and those voices don't seem minor

I'm assuming they are aspects of Big E, some he likes others...he'd rather not be around. I presume they are from all the worship of him and his different "Selves"

If i had the time i could probably list which ones i think fit which kind of Big E people worship.

For the voices

"How much more can we dare ask of these people? Of our people... we swore to protect them, and the most we can do is shine the light for them and wheeze half legible portents; there exists no words for the depths of our failings"

"Too slow... too subtle.. you can't risk delays not anymore"

. "More! This is not yet enough for the imperium!"

"The morning will come, see its rays spread."

"How amusing, Fulgrim believed his Emperor's Children embodied you most, yet it seems the Lion's spawn may lay claim to that honor

"So frail and so human, poor poor Cain... He deserves a blessing, right...? Please..."

"In some small way, he's a damnably wise man in avoiding that which he neither wants, nor, from his point of view, needs - a small comfort when it renders him neutered and inoperative.

"More like him is needed. Heroes and geniuses rising from amongst the common folk of the Imperium, with true concern for their people that nobles prepared since birth and genetically modified transhumans lack."
I...actually dont think these were the Chaos gods..

Wasnt the Cersei quest got sth like this ? WHo are those voices there btw ?

Now that we have a better idea of when we're in the timeline we should do a list of the incoming major wars that the Imperium is set to experience. Once we do that we can start doing triage over which of those are so pressing that they demand our immediate attention and how much of it.

So far the next Big thing we've been discussing has been Hive Fleet Kraken showing up, with some discussion on if it's worth it to try and stop WAAGGHH! Snagrod

Yeah. I just did.

The upcoming major events includes:

Damocles Gulf Crusade
Rynn's World , with Snagrod bleeds the Crimson Fists
And the big one, Hive Fleet Kraken, which will be preceded by a flood of Genestealer rebellions.

The smaller ones, still worth mentioning are

- Calgar was maimed fighting a Behemoth splinter, Hive Fleet Perseus, which then later drift outside the galaxy to never seen again.
- Cadian 8th ( and Creed ) gained a major series of victory .
- St. Celestine appears and saves a victory for Salamanders and the Ebon Chalice against the Black Legion
