The Radiant Shepherd - A Warhammer 40K God-Emperor Quest

I think we should give a blessing to Creed. The description we had for him from the observation says that while he has the potential to achieve great things, his fate might still end up being dying as a mook somewhere before he can get to that point. IMO we'd want to point a finger on the scale to make sure the former happens rather then the latter.

[]Plan: Let bless the fortunate and observe the without
-[] Observe (3 points)
--[] Eldrad Ulthran
--[] Trazyn the infinite
--[] Fabius Bile
-[] Blessing or Curse (variable)
--[] Bless the Valhallan 597th: May my soldiers be led by the people who care for their lives and can lead the well, and may their gratitude be the shield that protects said leaders (2 points)
--[] Bless the officer corps of Cadia: May they act with forethought, may they promote people based on their skills, may they be protected from fickle chance ending their stories too early and may their strength of character be strengthened so they can oppose the great enemy. (2 points)
--[] Curse the corrupt and ignorant leaders of the Imperium in the Segmentum Obscurus: May those who do not understand the basics of logistics be cursed before they cause thousands to die in vain or, worse, fall in the hands of the great enemy; may their sycophant cries fall on deaf ears; and may their misfortune be measured and dealt by the tears and blood of my faithful subjects that they harmed(1 point)
--[] Bless the efficient and righteous leaders of the Imperium in the Segmentum Obscurus: May they retain their virtues in the face of the great struggle; may the plans of the corrupt turn into a chance for them to advance; may they be forwarned from the schemes of their enemies and have a chance to oppose them (2 points)

Observe:
  • Eldrad: learning that slaneash is about to be shanked and maybe helping him with that in following turns
  • Trazyn and Fabious: Maybe getting the perfect clone of fulgrim
Bless:
  • Indirectly blessing Cain and Creed as to not let chaos known that we are paying attention to them
  • Get logistics in order for the 13th black crusade because just warning about it won't help us much if the mobilisation is subverted by chaos or fucked over by stupidity of mankind

As for Yarrick, in the time period 2nd Armageddon is a bit dying down, and he might be soon captured then released in the Battle of Golgotha. I do agree Creed should be blessed.

But again, we should not focus too much on Obscurus atm. Remember, Kraken is come barreling in

[] Plan of Angels, Creed and Fists
-[] Observe (1 point)
--[] Helbrecht of the Black Templars
--[] The Lamenters
-[] Send Visions (5 Points)
--[] Pedro Kantor of the Crimson Fists:
A vision of Burning green beasts rise and direct their lust for war against the red fists of Dorn, their war cries echo across Rynn's World with flame and inhuman glee. Battle rages as a stray missile strikes and brings destruction to a great fortress. Victory comes with great cost, but there is no one path, and another can be taken to greater victory with less loss.
-[] Blessing or Curse (3 Points)
--[] Creed:
Already gifted with the potential of military Genius, his body shall be gifted with strength and health to withstand the coming battles. May his path lead to salvation of many and the Death of the enemies of Mankind.

How does this look, i figure giving a warning to the Crimson Fists would be a decent move, and looking at what the Lamenters and Templars are doing so we could do some stuff for them next. And well i figured making sure Creed more tanky can't hurt. I am however unsure if my Vision could use some work or not.

Just give Creed some kind of good luck blessing so that he lives long enough to become Lord General. Don't make it complicated.

I somewhat like it, but we still needs to address Kraken.

Contrary to what people think here, the Tau while should not be crushed utterly, should be shown some consecquences for their expansion into Imperial Worlds, least of all to prevent a snowballing threat in the fringes. But maybe some assets wasted in Damocles Gulf would be better use dealing with Kraken instead.

Which they will comes in first by seeding the Eastern Fringes with gene cults and probing fleets

None of these plans include communing with our custodians which seems like a relatively easy way to actually communicate clearly and potentially put our custodian guard back into play.

Not so sure about trying to warn the Crimson Fists. While cool, ultimately they aren't all that relevant and we're better off using those visions for someone else like Marneus Calgar for the Plague Fleets or Hive Fleet Behemoth or Kraken.

This.

Tell the Golden Bananas to stop moping around the Palace and go out and do shit, like impressing the importance of securing Cadia so no one can deny the severity of it.

TBH the goal we should aiming forward is the warning the Crimson Fist get got Snadgrod killed. Splintering Charadon means we actually clears out a major Ork empire that rivals Gaghzkull in strength

my rational is both the prevention of a Major Ork WAAGGGHH and ensuring that any forces in Ultima that would have been focused on that can go deal with Kraken later, granted i do understand that the second one is less likely and would probably be better spent on doing something with another force, like giving a Templars Crusade leader the vision of Kraken emerging so they can go in.

But this is why i did not vote, just put up the idea for discussion.

any forces in Ultima that would have been focused on that can go deal with Kraken later,
Nono, this a great reasoning. ANd yeah, any forces that is not have too hang around to keep the Arch Arsonist in check are more forces that are free to atleast dealing with the virtual sectors-wide wildfire of Genestealer revolts that preceeds Kraken.

And another reason it has to be focus on is in canon Kraken eaten Sotha and lead to the final destruction of the Pharos.

Which should have been immense help

I really do think that we should do custodes communication/repeal edict of restraint, as their direct participation and authority as direct servants of the Emperor could speed up a bunch of things along. Nvm their prowess. They are wasted rn.

Other than that... Could we speed up Guilliman's resurrection? Bless Cawl, point some important people at him, etc. Or maybe poke Lion a bunch of times. We need systemic improvements more than we need one-off victories in local conflicts of modest importance.

In the same vein, we could take a look at High Lords.

One of the key for G-man resurrection is Yvraine, who is at the moment killing people in some Commorragh arena. Maybe later .

And honestly, blunting one of the great tyrannic war is in and of itself a kind of systemic improvements.

But I do agree that the Edict of Restraint needs to go tho

Maybe E's intervention could sub for Yvraine's efforts. We seems to be somewhat more free to act than canonical emperor. If it could work, then it is "definitively now."

Doing something about Kraken would be good, but there is no plan that does anything about tyranids rn.

Is there any bad weakness that could be exposed if we let our guardians go and ways to remedy them? Also, could we tactically displace Kraken to somewhere else?

I mean in canon the Edict of Restraint was only throw away with...after the Great Rift. Terra is no more safe then than now, but the Galaxy was already gone to shit

I want the Tau crushed, so the Admech will start inventing their tech. They have a method of short ranged FTL coms. That would greatly empower fleets, and connect the IOM.

Calling for him and the rest of the Custodes to resume his duty, for the Emperor is the Imperium, and to defend the Imperium is to defend the Emperor. Cancel the Edict of Restraint and let the Custodes glaives and Andrathics faces the enemy of humanity once more

Already gifted with the potential of military Genius, his fate shall be gifted with some favor of fortune to survive the coming battles. A missed bullet here, a Chimera unexpectedly sped up before an explosion there, keeping him safe from random death. So that may his path lead to salvation of many and the Death of the enemies of Mankind.

In general, free custodes mean being able to directly get one of the most respected and powerful institutions in the Empire to go tell people to do X, instead of having to use vague premonitions via tarot or expensive direct visions. Finally, we could get them to get people to our throne room, where we could clearly communicate by using 3 AP instead of 10.

It is an action economy upgrade, as far as I can see. Action economy is king.

For the same reason Legion of the Damned is interesting; we could use a force we could point at [Mess that Needs To Be Resolved Number 9999...9] and at a relatively low AP cost.

Isn't this a local single-sector conflict? Very tragic, very sad, trillions died, completely and utterly strategically irrelevant. Why is this deserving of half of our action points? Is there some sort of worthwhile mcguffin there? A hero who'll domino effect some Great Victory later on?

As was said, Yvraine was also a crucial part to it, so unless we can get a substitute or wait until the events play out which lead to her being chosen and on somewhat amicable terms with us, that's a no go.

It's REALLY cute you think that crushing the Tau would lead to the AdMech actually inventing stuff. The AdMech is very hostile to invention and innovation, doubly so for Xenotech. Even if some toaster boys do snag some of their tech, they're most likely going to just hoard it and sit on it b/c they'd be killed if it was publicly known they have it and Forge Worlds love to monopolize stuff.
