Actually, while funny, this could also be funnier. Like, imagine someone with those actual intimacies.

They're girl-crazy (whether male or female), and putty in the hands of a girl in terms of befriending them and being nice to them. And they have some sort of 'Tragedy obsession' where they like a person more when they find out about their sad and miserable past.

So like some sort of Tragedy Otaku who gets along great with girls but is also a push-over to them.

...it's still a comedy character, but it's one you could almost picture, isn't it? Though it's definitely not Tenten.

I was not entirely happy with the Tenten picture on the frontpage.
So when Tenten mentioned a wardrobe upgrade in the last update, I went diving a couple artists on Tumblr who have a liking for Tenten(and ship NejiTen, but that's not relevant).
I....may have overdone things.

Yeah, Tenten does like them pretty (though years of being on a team with Neji has given her some measure of immunity to their charms). Of course, in terms of personality she likes people who are kind, forward, and open with their feelings. (And if they happen to give her lots of gifts, well that's not a downside either. :V)

Well, I already knew about papabay, considering the pic on the front page is one of his (but not the other ones), but it's nice to have it all collected in one place. So sure I guess.

You might be surprised.
Note that she's paired with Neji much more often than Lee by both the manga creator and the animators of both the Rock Lee and Naruto animes:p

Those are literally what she says her preferences are when Lee asks her in SD series. :V

Edit: And from my recollection (which is admittedly spotty) Tenten gets teased with both her teammates. But of course, it being Tenten they're so sparse you can't really get a clear picture of who she likes either way.

Pay attention to what she does, not what she says.
It's a fact that holds true for male and female preferences across generations, that we will often profess a preference for one set of characteristics, while pursuing another.

And in Tenten's case, she keeps ending up with the snobbish reserved Hyuga.
If kindness, generosity and forwardness were priorities for her(or indeed, most Konoha ladies), Lee and Naruto would be the joint pimp daddies of their generation.

I know that. Though there's really just enough to argue for (She makes a ton of blushing glances at both Lee and Neji, she gave that one impassioned speech to Lee about how he inspires her in Shippuden, She fawns over Neji's genius, in SD she does a shitton of stuff for Lee etc.) and against (She didn't cry at all over Neji's death, Kishimoto heavily hinted Metal Lee isn't her's etc.) both the pairings in canon.

(Oh, and just to make it clear here, I'm completely ambivalent towards both NejiTen and LeeTen. I lack the shipper's heart.)

Edit: Oh, and while she does like pretty boys. Her response to the Reverse Harem Jutsu in the games is her standard Tsukkomi shot from the SD series. So, make of that what you will I guess.

Improved self control is one of the perks she took at chargen?:V

Kakashi is a fan of R18 literature, and has never been affected by any of Naruto's harem techniques either, and IIRC Jiraiya's reaction tends to be to ask for more. So I guess it depends.
