There is also a useful resistance charm. Do not think it will be voted for this time, but as an option.
Body-Mending Meditation
Cost
: 10m
Mins: Resistance 1, Essence 1
Type: Supplemental
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: Until the day ends
Prerequisite Charms: None

Even wounded nigh unto death, a Lawgiver will marshal the strength to rise again. This Charm supplements a dramatic action to marshal the character's inner resources for recovery. This action requires one hour without a stunt or another Charm. The Solar's player rolls (Stamina + Resistance). Success speeds his healing rate by a factor of 10 or, if the character prefers, adds directly to the successes of a physician using Wound-Mending Care Technique on the character. See page 149 for more on natural healing rates.
Characters can activate Body-Mending Meditation when inactive (see p. 143).

Oh yeah, a couple rules updates I wanted to mention (I'll update the main rules posts once I take care of some Staff stuff I've been meaning to do). But in order:
  1. You can buy specific jutsu again, which removes the casting requirements, and means Tenten can always cast them if she has the chakra.
  2. For every dot of Chakra Skill over the Difficulty of the Jutsu, the Chakra cost is reduced by 20%
  3. Likewise, for ever dot of Fuinjutsu skill over the complexity, the prep time is reduced over by 20%

  • Tenten gambling and drinking.

"The Crypt Casino, huh?"

She played with the plastic business card in her hands, eying the stylized purple skull emblazoned on its bottom right corner. She hadn't thought of visiting one of Konoha's gambling dens until she heard that Lady Tsunade frequented them. If her idol thought they were places worth spending time at, then they must be great, right? Totally.

It was an almost surreal experience, walking through the roads she was so familiar with under the light of yellow street lamps.

A rough hand grabbed her shoulder, and she reached for a kunai-.

"Relax Tenten." It was a familiar voice, and her muscles relaxed, knowing that there was nothing to worry about.

"Mizuki-sensei?"

It was indeed him, but even knowing that it took a few seconds to get over the fact that he wasn't wearing the standard Konoha chunin uniform.

"The one and only. Hey," he leaned over her shoulder, looking at the card in her hand, "who gave you that?" His tone wasn't accusing, just curious, so she though it was safe tell him.

"An iryo nin I met. Kasa, I think her name was?"

"That freak?" Seeming to realize what he said, he backpedaled. "Hey, as you teacher, I have to tell you that she's a psycho. Should probably stay away from her."

She digested that, before nodding reluctantly. "She was nice enough when I talked to her."

"Just trust me."

The Crypt Casino was a cold, dark, and smelled delicious, and the moment she stepped in she realized that it would be a miracle if she didn't stumble out of the place blind drunk.

After being abandoned by the silver haired man with a heart of pitch, she found herself alone and no small amount of self conscious in the gaudily decorated den. Some of the paper cutouts spread about the ceiling looked like they were made by children!

She already felt fleeced after paying the entrance fee, so she made a bee line to the jansou, taking a seat and tapping her foot as she waited for her first opponent. She absently swirled the sake in her cup. She was nervous, but mostly because this was the first time she did something like this. Well, that wasn't exactly true...

Crk.

She turned her eyes up to see a young face, a few years over twenty and attractive enough to have her feeling a bit warm. That man really pulled off purple face paint.

Click.

"Pardon me. I just wanted to capture your style."

!

"But where are my manners. My name is Sukea, traveling photographer. Yours?"

"I'm Tenten." Was this guy a creep? She was starting to get the impression that he was a creep.

"Here you go." Sukea passed over the snapshot he got out of her. She adjusted her collar.

"Do you do that to everyone you meet, or just me?"

Sukea smiled.

"Just people I think are interesting, that's all."

Curry and rice were placed on the table, and they began to play.

She trounced him.

Sukea lost so horribly that Tenten wouldn't find it hard to believe that the entirety of his experience with the game was against toddlers.

Tenten walked back home with a heavy wallet and happy buzz. No wonder Lady Tsunade loved gambling so much!

Because all the weapons merchants are filthy barbarians.
Lol.

This is hilarious. Unfortunately non-canon though (They kicked Tenten out because holy shit you're twelve kid). +1 XP to do with as you wish.

I refuse to vote for anyone who does not include turtle summons.

I'm coming, Polnareff!

[X]Plan Take advantage of Trainers
-[X]Monkey Leap Technique [Gai 3 slots]
-[X]3 Chakra Sense Ability Specialty(Awareness) [Neji 3 slots]
-[X]3 Ninjutsu Ability Specialty(Occult) [Sakura 3 slots]
-[X]Stamina [Gai 5 slots]
- -[X]Spend time with Ino

RATIONALE

Monkey Leap Technique combines well with the tree climbing technique and allows us to control the range and angle of about any fight. Stamina is one of the stats affects chakra pool. Neji and Sakura's Training bonus are both best for Specialty Training.

Alright, budget training plan is go.

TRAINING PLAN: Magical Girl Paranoid Stabber[14 slots] +2XP from uju32
[X] Joint Wounding Attack x3[Resource: Gai]: Thrown/Martial-Ready
[X] One Weapon,Two Blows x3[Resource: Gai]: Melee/Martial
[X] 1 dot Athletics x1 [Resource: Gai]: Athletics +1 XP
[X] Surprise Anticipation Method x2[Resource: Neji]: Awareness + 1XP
[X] 2 dots Awareness[Chakra] Specialty x 2[Resource: Neji]: Awareness
[X] 1 dot Occult(Ninjutsu) Specialty x1[Resource: Sakura]: Occult
[X] Training Slots x2: 2XP To Emergency Pool

First Spend Time With
[X] Kin

RATIONALE
I had 2XP from my last omake so I spent it on this budget.
Gai 7/8 slots. Neji 4/4 slots. Sakura 1/4 slots.
2 Training slots unused and XP into emergency pool.

Joint Wounding Attack and One Weapon Two Blows benefit from Gai's discount because they're Martial/Martial Ready charms that apply to MA/Taijutsu( 4XP to 3XP each). They're both attack charms; One Weapon doubles damage, and Joint Wounding dazes/stuns the opponent for the rest of the scene.

Neji Awareness discount applies to Surprise Anticipation Method(4XP to 3XP) and Awareness(Chakra) specialty(2XP to 1XP). SAM is a charm that prevents Tenten from being surprised.

Sakura's Occult discount applies to Occult (Ninjutsu) specialty (2XP to 1XP). Improves her ability to cast ninjutsu.

Extra XP saved for lack of appropriate slots/trainers.
Spend time with Kin because it's been a week since we delivered her to Gai and Konoha Intelligence.
First Kin, then Yugao; the living, then the dead.

Old enough to die under a militaristic regime, old enough to do anything else :V.

I want to buy jutsu so we can do them without seals, but I don't know how much they cost. Anyone know?

Just note that SAM only applies if the surprise has a valid roll for it. Which is not always the case.
Fair enough.
We'll pick up RST as well when we can afford it, but until then....

Each ninjutsu/genjutsu technique costs 5XP without a tutor.

This is probably a bad idea from any perspective.
Why?

None of the Sannin summons are particularly suited to Tenten, as much as she might fangirl about signing the Slug Contract. By contrast, the Turtle is a powerful mythic creature on par with a dragon, with some very obvious applications to our own affinity with weapons and ranged attacks, which appears in a variety of potent legendary roles and which our immediate sensei has experience in co-operating with.

And to metagame a little - if I expected any living thing to recognize a Solar Exaltation, it'd be whoever serves as head of the Turtle Family, considering their connotations with wisdom and immortality. In China, they're said to live 10,000 years. That's an interesting number.

Why Kin? Honestly, what's the interest there?
I can only speak for myself, but as she was a completely flat character in canon, I'm interested on how she will develop in this quest after some friendship-fu.
Not to mention it was already OOC for Tenten to not check on the girl this week. It would be even more so if she didn't try to follow up on her turning. To be fair, not visiting her this week got us Yuugao, but the point stands. Tenten is far too responsible a person to let it go.
