-[X] Land Grants (+Economy)
-[X] Subjugate more tributaries from the [faction] (-??? Martial, ???) [Upriver Tribes (easier)] [Genius]

Damnit people we are warriors.
Bah, we don't need to bow and scrape to these lesser beings, we are the Mayep! We should rule! Did not force of arms and the determination to do what must be done earn us the blessing of the gods when we slew the Corrupt Oracle?
You say we are Warriors but you're spending most of our actions on Land Grants despite the Manpower options not costing any Econ and despite Land Grants no longer being specifically for Veteran Warriors.

At least slot those actions on something like fortify[city] for long-term Martial if you're going after the easy target and not spending any Econ. Or use it for more military training and subjugate something other than the easy target. Or avoid the penalty of taking 4 actions to increase the success rate of subjugation.

Personally, I think a name like Warrior King warrants starting a megaproject like the Grand Dock(the fleet is key for subjugating upriver and overseas, which is everybody except the Nomads and recently-Nomad Alwethi) but that's probably just me.
So for long-term Martial you'd have:

[] Plan Warrior King. Qeq revision
-[] [Genius] Master Warfare - King Selja sees much to be gained in battle during his lifetime, or much to impart.
-[] Military Training (+Martial)
-[] Subjugate more tributaries from the [faction] (-??? Martial, ???) [Upriver Tribes (easier)] [Genius]
-[] *Construct a Temple in Dalwa (-Economy, +Stability)
-[] Fortify [Dalwa] (-Economy, -Martial, +Martial later) [Anye, Dalwa]

Temple for Stability so we have less emigration or civil unrest(and can focus on external conquest). Walls to prevent raiding(and to get another source of warriors like Maye and Gadawa).
Our Military is Mighty and the Upriver Tribes are an easy target. If you want to make a statement about being Warriors? Go for something like the Plainsmen or Oathtribe(formerly known as Oathbreaker tribe) like so:

[] Plan King Over The Nomads
-[] [Genius] Master Warfare - King Selja sees much to be gained in battle during his lifetime, or much to impart.
-[] Military Training (+Martial) x2
-[] Subjugate more tributaries from the [faction] (-??? Martial, ???) [ Plainsmen (???)] x2 [Genius]

Still greet our(potentially hostile) neighbours(and their shinies) without conducting trade in good faith bowing and scraping.

That said, I've made a new variant of Food for Thought that has a bit more long-term Martial:
[X] Plan Fort, Food and Shinies
-[X] [Genius] Master Diplomacy - King Selja has learned from the innovative spirit of the traders and artisans, and though no outsider could equal the King, he has found there is an art in barter he could make use of.
-[X] *Special Mission to Alwethi (-Economy, +++Wealth, -Stability, ???) [Genius]
-[X] *Construct a Temple in Dalwa (-Economy, +Stability)
-[X] Irrigate Dalwa (-Economy, -Martial, ++Economy Later)
-[X] Fortify [Dalwa] (-Economy, -Martial, +Martial later) [Anye, Dalwa]

Basically Food For Shinies with a Fort for Dalwa. Turn it into some kind of second Gadawa(albeit without Oracle) when it comes to city improvements.

-------------
Also, surprisingly few multi-votes or different plan makers so far.

Problem is we have really freaking low Economy.

Problem is we have really freaking low Economy.
We're at Shortages, which is the same as we had during Restoration of Maye.
We still managed to do a -4 Econ plan(Temple, Fort and Irrigation) when we rolled into the next turn back then because we had +++++++Econ(7) against ---Econ(3) in the modifiers.

Right now? We're at ++++++++Econ(8) to -Econ(1), for a net-positive of 7. We just have low food stores from the previous generation.

Ah. Alright then, which plan do you think we should go with?
I suppose that in general, you could say that I am a fan of city improvements. Especially the ones that can be applied to most(if not all) of our cities like Fortify[city] because I'm hoping to embed ideas like irrigating your farms and fortifying one's settlements until our people's mental image of a settlement shifts from "a collection of houses" to "a fort, a temple and a couple of houses."
That said, I understand that Megaprojects are powerful* and that the(so far unique) Anye quarry probably helps a lot with future construction projects.

But I've already elaborated on my own plans, which are all combinations that I am fine with, otherwise I wouldn't have made said plans. If I see a plan that I like, or even a plan I prefer over the leading plan, I might toss an approval vote at it.
Some of my plans go in different directions and some are safer(in return for lower reward) but I'm happy with mine, just as I expect you to be happy with yours. As long as everybody picks the option(or options) they are happy with, this is fine.

.

As for your plan? I gave feedback on it in the post you're quoting.
Essentially? I would strip out Land Grants and would prefer either tackling the Plainsfolk or building the cheaper city improvements like forts and temples in our cities.
That said, if we're going to conquer a lot of tributaries, now might be a good time to start the Palace. Establish an administrative center for tax collection and managing our subjects.

.

*which is why I made a plan to start the Grand Docks. As our Specialized Economy trait means we need Boats to avoid Stability hits and the local Terrain means/meant Boats are the best way to conquer new Tributaries.

So vote tally has spontaneously gone insane, but I think it's 3 votes winning for Food for Shinies?

All I was able to do was use fully unsorted voting. It doesn't track approval votes, but basically nobody does those with regularity on the plan vote.

The Brown Stone
Of all the peoples in the world, Selja found the Alwethi to be some of the most obtuse and confusing. At first, the negotiation nearly broke down when the King's envoy did not come bearing a gift. Then, when their envoys came to Maye, they gave a token gift of food even as they starved, and were then confused when the King didn't offer them salt in return, shouting and claiming insult.

Eventually, it became apparent that the Alwethi had very complicated rules regarding the hosting of guests, and of how they had to speak with one another. The sages and mystics in Maye began asking particulars, and, with Selja almost excluded from things, months had passed without any real progress being made, though the sages did counsel sending some food to them as a sort-of-gift they called a Wemi - a barter-tribute-for-tomorrow - or something like that. On the plus side, all those questions had given Selja enough of a grounding to negotiate in a way they understood, even if it was a little confusing for him.

Unfortunately, the final, agreed-upon trade had some logistical issues, and there was some spoilage that spread in a Maye granary, sparking a minor panic and some laypeople shouting about the displeasure of the spirits. Things calmed after a while thanks to the direct intervention of the Oracle, but it left a mark in the minds of the people. The sages, oblivious, simply poured over the things they learned from the Alwethi, and had begun changing over some older records to use numbers, which was a curious development they claimed had come from elsewhere in their travels.

Later, it turned out the Alwethi's rare dyes and stones were sorely needed, preventing a second panic from the merchants when the Upriver tribes had suddenly begun reducing contact in the wake of a small bit of intellectual (and actual, they argued) thievery. A peculiar stone, shining and near-brown in color, was apparently discovered to be quite resilient and unlike any other stone before it in their surface quarry, hidden by a green discoloration that had to be polished away. From all accounts, and from watching himself, the stone could be hammered into a shape of choice and, were it to deform, could simply be hammered back. Almost by accident and simultaneously, several quarriers and masons had stumbled across a small seam of greenish stone in the Anye quarry that, when cooked in the covered pit fires for several hours, produced the same stone, pooled in the pit like frozen water.

Already a select group of the richest masons had taken to practicing the shaping of the stone, either by hammering or by carefully etching designs at the base of the pit-fires and letting the stone take it's shape. Delicate ornaments, tools and implements, and, perhaps most interestingly, the weapons produced by these masons were of passable quality, and unlike their stone counterparts, could simply be beaten back into shape if damaged or warped. Word of smaller experiments had also reached the King's ears, of warriors with mason family experimenting with the lightness of the stone for use as protective clothing. All in all, the stone seemed to be catching everyone's eyes, everywhere. Farmers, artisans, warriors, traders... who could have expected such a curious novelty to take the world by storm?

Selja had to admit... even if it was a little uncomfortable, the copper circlet about his head certainly looked nice. It would compliment his second emergency trade mission to the Alwethi nicely.

Selja is a masterful Diplomat and still without peer in many other areas. He can manage 3 projects in his advancing age.
The Oracle
**Consult the Oracle (Spends an action, ???)
Push for an Heir [Type] (Spends an action, types the heir) [Administrator, Diplomat, Warrior]

[A consultation is a ceremonious visit to the Oracle's Seat in Gadawa. It looks favorably on the King and all but ensures support from the Oracle, and might prompt strange opportunities, but the political power of that particular King is somewhat diminished for it]
[A push for an Heir prompts the king to put pressure on the Oracle and the priesthood to elevate a particular relative to Prince. This choice will have talents the King believes necessary to the Mayep. Such a choice will upset the priesthood and the Oracle]

Manpower
Military Training (+Martial)
Land Grants (+Economy)
Artisan Trades (+Wealth)

Trade
Mission to [Polity] (-Wealth, ?Wealth Later, ???) [Far-Coast, Upriver, Oathtribes, Alwethi]

Long-Term Projects
Subjugate more tributaries from the [faction] (-??? Martial, ???) [Upriver Tribes (easier), Alwethi (???), Long-Coast Tribes (tougher), Oathtribes (toughest)]
Special Subjugation of the Jade Quarry from the Upriver Tribes (-??? Martial, Gain control of the region)
Settle [region] (-Economy, +??? later) [North Coast (trade), South Coast (trade)] Manpower Limitations
Prospect [region] for copper (-Economy, -Martial) [Maye, Gadawa, Dalwa]

City Improvements (Maye, Anye, Gadawa, Dalwa)
*Build walls for [city] (--Economy, -Martial, slow project) [*Maye, Anye, Gadawa, Dalwa]
Fortify [city] (-Economy, -Martial, +Martial later) [Anye, Dalwa]

Great Projects
*Codify the rules of conduct of the Mayep, making official the punishments for the abuses of the kingdom and it's peoples. Imbue in scrolls every law of the Mayep as from the lips of it's Lord. (+?-Economy/Wealth/Stability/Legitimacy???, counts as two projects, might require extra attention, completes a Code of Laws)
The fleets of the Mayep require a lot of upkeep, and regular replacements. Make plans for a grand harbor to house the fleet at Anye. (-Economy, -Wealth, counts as two projects, begins Grand Docks early wonder)
*Formalize Gadawa as the Seat of the Oracle by expanding the temple there. Such a complex will attract many sages and learned men, possibly from very far away. (-Economy, --Wealth, counts as two projects, begins the Great Temple early wonder)
Build a Palace at Maye to house the ruling family. It will solidify the idea of Maye as capital of the kingdom, and ensure all things pass close to the eyes and ears of her King. (-Economy, --Wealth, -Martial, counts as two projects, begins the Palace early wonder)
We must have the brown stone! Get it all! Rip it from the earth! (--Economy, -Wealth, -Martial, counts as two projects, begins the Metalworks Project at Anye)

Normal projects can be doubled or tripled for enhanced effects.
The King is an unparalleled Genius, and sees more than most in the flow of the kingdom.

Legitimacy: High (Oracle of Gadawa Supporting)

I'd love to see a palace sooner than later. Being able to centralize our bureaucracy and reinforce the legitimacy of our rule should let us leverage more of our civ's resources and ameliorate bad heirs and the like.

[X] Plan: Copperworking
-[X] We must have the brown stone! Get it all! Rip it from the earth! (--Economy, -Wealth, -Martial, counts as two projects, begins the Metalworks Project at Anye)
-[X] Artisan Trades (+Wealth)

Copper tools save a lot of time because they can be repaired i combined the project for them with Artisans as working copper takes skill so training artisans seems to be the smart thing to do.

[X] Plan: Copper working

Let us master copper, and then bronze and keep iron a secret untill it's surely needed to start a massive expansion of our kingdom!

Bronze is so far out it's not even funny. The trade and interconnectivity required to get tin just don't even remotely exist yet.

If we're going to get all chalcolithic up in here the least we can do is do it properly.

[X] Plan: Grand Copper Caper.
-[X] We must have the brown stone! Get it all! Rip it from the earth! (--Economy, -Wealth, -Martial, counts as two projects, begins the Metalworks Project at Anye)
-[X] Special Subjugation of the Jade Quarry from the Upriver Tribes (-??? Martial, Gain control of the region)

Securing more copper and making it more available to work with will probably do more than simply trying to get more artisans working with a very limited commoditity. Moreover, this actually starts getting us the copper supply to replace even basic tools with copper over stone- which is huge. Copper trade goods are only a small facet.

With the way Tally is working, it might be better to remove the X from the subvote brackets and only X the plan name(s) to reduce clutter. Possibly in conjunction with hyperlinking the post that has the plan listed as part of the plan name.

I think these cover the Law megaproject, the Grand Docks megaproject, land grants and... anything to do with foreigners?

Hrm, Transport issues make me really want that Dock. And Boats would make it easier to keep control over the river(and send troops upriver)...

Also, Legitimacy dropped a level. It's still high but might go down to Medium if the King dies, so we might want to take an Asterisk option(Excellent Diplo king could make this a good moment for Law if we didn't just discover Copper).
And resources might go back to being vague once the king dies unless the next heir is well-educated and/or a genius due to the lack of a palace. Argh.
@Powerofmind if we do Special subjugation for the Quarry without turning the Upriver Tribes into Tributaries, does that mean there would still be non-tributary Upriver tribes in the general vicinity of the Quarry even after we conquer the Quarry?
Also, if we were to [Push for an Heir]x2, would that have any effect on the quality of the Heir?

.

[X] Plan: Carrot and Stick.
-[] Mission to [Upriver] (-Wealth, ?Wealth Later, ???) [Far-Coast, Upriver, Oathtribes, Alwethi]
-[] Subjugate more tributaries from the [Upriver Tribes] (-??? Martial, ???) [Upriver Tribes (easier), Alwethi (???), Long-Coast Tribes (tougher), Oathtribes (toughest)]
-[] Special Subjugation of the Jade Quarry from the Upriver Tribes (-??? Martial, Gain control of the region)

Our King is a masterful diplomat and the Upriver tribes could have multiple settlements like us. I'm interested to see if we can sow division while conquering upriver, develop ideas for "peaceful" annexations(surrender or get conquered?), mitigate the diplomatic fallout conquest could generate amongst the remaining upriver tribes(if any) and/or better assimilate the people.

Or we could:
[X] Plan: Ham Upriver Conquest.
-[] Military Training (+Martial)
-[] Subjugate more tributaries from the [Upriver Tribes] (-??? Martial, ???) [Upriver Tribes (easier)]
-[] Special Subjugation of the Jade Quarry from the Upriver Tribes (-??? Martial, Gain control of the region)

Triple down on conquest upriver by training the troops instead.

[X] Plan: Anye's Invasion Fleet.
-[] The fleets of the Mayep require a lot of upkeep, and regular replacements. Make plans for a grand harbor to house the fleet at Anye. (-Economy, -Wealth, counts as two projects, begins Grand Docks early wonder)
-[] Fortify [Anye] (-Economy, -Martial, +Martial later) [Anye]

Grand Dock = ships.
More ships = more warriors boating upriver.
Fortify Anye = More Warriors near the boats in the next generation and safer storage of Anye-mined copper.

Alternatively, it could see an increase in trade to the Upriver tribes and we can buy their copper.

[X] Plan: Open Source Metal.
-[] We must have the brown stone! Get it all! Rip it from the earth! (--Economy, -Wealth, -Martial, counts as two projects, begins the Metalworks Project at Anye)
-[] Prospect [Maye] for copper (-Economy, -Martial) [Maye, Gadawa, Dalwa]

Maye isn't generating any Econ or Wealth at the moment whereas Gadawa and Dalwa are major Econ generators. And if we're going for the -Martial Metalworks, it might not be the best idea to try a single action Upriver conquest of the Upriver quarry, which is probably a pretty important piece of Upriver tribe infrastructure(more important than not paying Tribute at least) and subsequently harder than normal tributary establishment.
Basically, we try to get another source of Copper by digging around the capital city instead of trying to take the most important trade resource site from the Upriver tribes(for now).

Approval:
[X] Plan: Full Diplo

Since we have the right ruler for it, since it doesn't have much negative synergy(aside from the recent bad omen from trading food) and it's Oracle-supported so it should push Legitimacy back up.
Plus, Upriver and Oathtribe missions means more Boats.

The special subjugation would only grab the specific area, ignoring others. Doubling down on the heir thing doesn't affect it. It's a rare one and done deal.

[X] Plan: Grand Copper Caper.

FINALLY WE HAVE WAR
@Gamerlord since you want war, could I interest you in throwing an approval vote towards plan Ham Upriver Conquest in addition to your current vote?

Because Grand Copper Caper only begins the Metalworks project and only conquers a specific part of the Upriver tribes, making us start the next turn with a partially-completed megaproject demanding actions and a (probably?) mostly intact Upriver tribes civilization surrounding our newly-conquered Quarry while being at war with us. Which wouldn't give us much in the way of action flexibility if anything unexpected comes up.
