She probably earned 90%+ of that exp from that one nonhuman girl participating in the competition. That being said, you're more likely to find crouching tigers and hidden dragons near any kind of tournaments, sooo
That was what I am currently looking within my mind after I got 11 levels from winning on the first round. I am very surprised it is that much. It seems like it counted every participant that lose on that round. It is hundreds of times better than just playing MOBA.
Maybe I should think about going on competitions to grind EXP? Though I shouldn't stop doing my routine! I have to constantly upload chapters and my art if I want to spread my name on the world!
Hmm.... I'll have to look at competitions that are scheduled on weekends. It's the only time I am free. Or maybe wait for summer break? Though I'll have to wait several weeks before that happens....
Anyway, going back to the perks, I actually planned what I wanted to choose already. The new perks are very tempting to choose, mostly that Gacha Shop. That's one of my banes since I played my very first Gacha Game, which is Princess Connect! Re: Dive. If it's not obvious, I am addicted to Gacha Games.
Though I decided to shelve that thought and think of choosing that next time. For now, I want to choose Daily Level Ups.
I already think it through. I might have become blindsided with Inventory, but I still have to think about the future. Grinding EXP won't matter as I got to higher levels. It won't take long before I have to grind millions of EXP just to raise my level by 1.
No, I have to take that Daily Level Ups now before that happens!
[Starting today, you will level up everytime the date changes!]
So I chose that, at the same time I am listening to the announcer as they announced the beginning of the second round. It seems like less than 90 of us remained out of the original 500 participants awhile ago. The weird green haired girl with beautiful golden eyes is now besides me, grinning confidently at me.
[Your Ability "Parallel Thought" has leveled up!]
I don't know what's her deal, but I decided to ignore that as I look at the large amount of staff that is carrying a large porcelain bowl. I can smell that fragrant aroma of the broth, and with my knowledge of cooking, I immediately realized that it is a soup meal with beef in it.
[You learned "Super Olfactory"]
Uh.... why did I just learn a smelling ability? I should have already learned that a long time ago!
I really can't understand my powers....
"This round's dish is an extra large serving of beef ramen! With a high grade beef and lots of toppings in it!"
Just as he said, there are a lot in it that it looks colorful. The timer starts after he said it, and then the announcer continues, saying the name of the restaurant that serves it and how much it originally costs. So they are truly promoting those products as we are eating here.
I gave my thanks once more as a form of respect for the food before eating it. I also heard the girl besides me doing it at the same time as me, and notice her starting with the soba first. It's the same as me, as I also wanted to taste the main face of every ramen, which is the soba.
We have a time limit of thirty minutes once more, though it is understandable. What we ate awhile ago can already fill the stomach of five to six people. We only have a ten minute rest before this round started, so with my passing knowledge for how digestive system works, I can definitely say that most of the surviving participants can barely finish it without taking some rest on themselves.
So it is a surprised to see this girl managing to keep up with me. While I was eating my ramen and savoring it, I can't help but notice how she enjoys the food itself. If I am the cook, I would feel honored to see such a cute girl enjoying what you prepared.
Well, this is a competition, so her expression might not be seen that much. I'm sure most of the people will be more focused on those bulky people (I refuse to call them fat because they are not that fat at all!) who is eating those ramen without a care on their appearance. Truly, they ate like slobs.
By the way, about the ramen itself, it is delicious. As expected of a high grade restaurant. Though even if I say that, with my own cooking knowledge, it felt lacking. Though I don't want to say any criticism for it because people have different preferences in their taste. Personally it just felt lacking to me, and they should add another egg just to give it that perfect blend in the taste.
I still took care of eating everything within it. There is no need to waste food, and I can eat a lot more now that my Overeating is at level 3. I just don't feel that full anymore despite eating as much as I can.
It only took awhile before I am done drinking all the soup of the ramen. After putting the large porcelain bowl on the table, I also heard a large thud besides me.
I glanced at the girl besides me, seeing her lick her lips and then wipe her mouth with the sleeves of her long silk dress. "Great! You piqued my interest, child!" She talks a bit high handedly, which I just shrugged and will just attribute it to her childishness.
"Thanks?" I really don't know how to respond to her, though there is no need to antagonized the girl so I'll just respond neutrally at her.
"As a show of respect, I would like to know your name first!"
"Uh... I'm Shinozaki Yumeko. How about you?"
"Yumeko? Such a cute name for an interesting child like you!" Is that so? "Very well! You may call me Ryuseigen!" She said, crossing her arms and looking down at me (or up? She is just the same height as me!)
"Okay.... Uh, Ryuuseigen-san?"
"Good!" She nodded at me. "Try to keep up with me, child!"
"Okay."
Right, she seems to have some sense of rivalry with me. Is it because I ate a lot faster than her?
Well, this is my first time encountering someone who can eat that fast too. So that's how fast I am from the outsiders. My scientific knowledge actually stated that was impossible due to the body structure that she has. So that means I'm also doing something impossible for the human standards.
Well, there are a lot of incredible people out of this world. So it is not surprising, regardless of how much my acquired knowledge denies it.
"This is such a surprise! They are the first two who finished their meals once again! It looks like these two are having a higher chance of becoming the champion if they keep this up!"
The crowd cheered at us, as the reporters comes closer to us once more and shoved those mics in front of us.
"Amazing! Both of you managed to pass the second round! Can you tell us about your impression for this tournament?" This question again?
I tried to answer them as politely as I could, while glancing at Ryuseigen who is also answering them proudly.
"Do you think you can win against the other participants?"
"Of course! No one can beat me when it comes to eating!"
She is really confident about that.
I decided to ignore that and continue answering the reporters. Questions like urging me for a reaction about whether I will win is answered with "I hope so" while other questions like what I will do to the cash prize is "I would use it to support my dream". When they asked for my dream, I simply answered with "A lot".
I don't want to answer them that much. They're gaze are a bit unpleasant, like they are looking at a sponge they want to squeeze dry instead of a person. They might be smiling and talking to me like I was some small child (Well, I am), but I don't like the way they try to lead me to questions that will usually elicit some reaction to someone.
[You learned "Acting"]
[Your Ability "Deception" has leveled up!]
Just what did my power meant for Acting? I am not acting! I'm trying to make them lose interest on me while answering them politely!
With that, I passed the time talking to reporters or just sitting on my chair while waiting for this round to finish. [You acquired 12,100 EXP]
After that round, only fifty of us remains. We quickly started the third round after ten minutes. The third round only has twenty minute time limit. The food we are going to eat are a tray full of takoyaki with some special sauces.
The third round eliminated forty more. Making the remaining participants ten. I am still in the count of course, and so the fourth round begins with three trays of different prepared chicken. One being chicken teriyaki, another is yakitori, and the last being chicken karaage.
[You acquired 5,000 EXP]
Eight of the ten participants has fallen for this. Those who fell are the bulky contestants along with us. Now it is just me, and surprisingly Ryuseigen who still looks like she is still raring to go for more.
"Hehehe! I knew you can keep up with me, child!" She said as she wipes her mouth of the sauces that remained from it with her sleeves.
"Ah... right..."
I'm surprised, this child can actually keep up with me who has a cheat ability. Even though I have level three overeating, I felt like I might reach my limit soon if it doesn't level up.
"The next round might be the deciding factor!" The crowd got hyped as they heard the announcer said that. "Now we present to you, the ultimate beef from Iza. The Izagyu Beef personally picked and raised by the Juouin Industries!"
Wait, Juouin? So they take care of livestock?
I actually didn't know because I'm not that interested at looking deep into their company. Yumeko also has no interest, so she barely knows what that company do. Only that the company is the largest in this city.
"Oooh!~ Out of everything that's been served, this one looks delectable!~" Ryuseigen exclaimed besides me as she rubbed her hands together in excitement.
I also look at the plate presented on my table. Feeling surprised as I saw that delectable meat that has been perfectly cooked to perfection. It seems like we are going to eat finely sliced, lightly toasted Wagyu... I mean Izagyu Beef.
"Now ladies! You only have 5 minutes to finish this delectable steak!" The announcer stated, before they started the timer.
Taking the steak sauce and then pouring it evenly around the array of slices of steak, I took one with my chopstick and put one slice in my mouth.
"!?!?" The taste is incredible!
Despite being lightly seasoned, the texture of the steak and the juices it releases on my tongue as my teeth bit into it exploded it's true essence and rich taste within my mind. This is truly a top quality steak!
Though, I think I can make this more delicious if I added something. It should be cooked whole in a grilling pan. This steak is indeed top quality, but I felt like the cook didn't do their best with this.
I wonder how much does this cost? I would like to buy one and cook something for myself!
Even as I am thinking like that, I tried to savor it as much as possible. Though it is a shame as we only have a short time left. I actually can't finish this all. I've reached the limit of my overeating.
And while I can level it up through my AP and brute force my way into this tournament, that would be unnecessary. I only attended this tournament to grind my eating ability, and in hopes to acquire EXP (which I now proven as possible)!
So I decided to take my time and just raised my hands after being almost done on eating it. As for Ryuseigen, she is already done and is looking intently at me.
"Sorry, I can't do it anymore." I said, much to the shock of the audience.
By the way, why are Hayami and the others looking as if they can't believe it. I actually felt full now! There is no need for me to force myself!
"What a turn of events! The favorite of the crowd has thrown down the towel!" The announcer dramatically announced. "It seems like we have a winner folks! Give an applause to the one and only, Mina Ryusei!"
Oh, so her true name is Ryusei? So she is just really using an alias awhile ago!
I mean, what kind of name is Ryuseigen? That sounds a bit on the nose, and too chuuni!
"Hehe! It is natural that I claimed victory! None can surpass my appetite!" She said rather proudly, though I felt like she just called herself as a glutton. "I would have preferred to eat more...." I heard her mutter quietly, and only managed to hear that through my Keen Hearing.
"To the top two contestants who remained on the competition, please go to that side to get your rewards. After that will be a closing ceremony for the event!"
Well, it seems like that's the end of this event. The event ended after we got our rewards. Ryusei got the promised 200,000 Yen and a large trophy with the words "Yomi's Best Eater" in it, while I only got 50,000 Yen and a silver-colored medal that says 2nd without anything in it.
I actually can't get my rewards due to being a minor. The person, who seems to be a trusted men of the mayor, asked for my parents first and after calling my parents and telling them about what happened, my Dad took care of it. It seems like they will be the one who will hold it officially, even though I saw on my phone that the fifty thousand yen has been quickly transferred to my bank account.
My parents really trusts me!
"Hey you!" I perked up, looking at the green haired girl behind me. "I like you, Shinozaki Yumeko! You have proven yourself worthy in my eyes!" She grinned. "If you ever come to my home, I will welcome you with open arms!"
"Uh.... I see...." I don't know where she lives, but whatever.
"Then, I will be expecting your arrival! Let's meet again on Mt. Minakami!"
After saying that, she turned her back and then laughs uproariously as she left the place in joy.
Well... that just happened...
"Yumeko-chan!" I turned around and saw my friends coming closer to me.
"Hi." I simply greeted, before leaning my face as I felt Saki grabbing onto my shoulders and getting closer to my face.
"That was freaking cool! You can eat, girl!"
"Uh... yeah, anyone can?" What is she talking about?
"You're such a dork!" Saki said before she pulled me into a hug. That surprised me.
"Congratulations on getting second place! I'm sure you did your best, and getting to second place is really impressive!" Honomi quickly added to the side.
"Amazing!" Shiro simply said besides Honomi.
"You did great Yumeko-chan!" Hayami said to the side.
Well, it seems like they are happy with me so whatever. I just smiled at them and enjoyed their company for awhile. After that, we decided to celebrate my placement on the tournament by going to the nearby restaurant. Though I didn't eat. Can't really do it anymore as I really felt full.
With that, the day ended.
I was thinking of cutting it in the middle first, but decided that I should write the remaining part of this eating contest so I can get back to the school.
I hope you have fun with this chapter!~

Demon Priestess Duo: "Our little girl is already starting by herself her first youkai extermination. They grow so fast! Nice first step, obtaining the respect and trust of the target..."
Wow, I did not expect that ending. Dragon friend get! GACHA!?!?!? That's my vote next for suuuuure.
Also, if you want some Perk ideas. Some might be better as AP purchases, so who knows. Or both options?
Statistically Speaking: Unlock core attribute stats (Which would be Str, Dex, Wis, Int, Luck, etc... and bonus points for leveling and associated activities. Her dex would skyrocket from gaming, art, and typing. It doesn't mesh as well with your writing I think, at least not at this point in the story but would still be an option to include. On the other hand: Milestone abilities!)
Already Working On It: AP Purchases are discounted for having associated skills and their levels. ("Observe" for example may get points off for having high Analysis abilities, knowledge, and even Sense Danger. Spidey Powers Package discounted for strength, endurance, Adrenaline Rush, Sense Danger, Athletics, etc... This would be a neat way of making superpowers faster to acquire but also not exactly OP. Also is a lot more interesting choice as opposed to adding another perk to triple AP gains instead (an evolution unlocked for Hogger)).
Questionable Content: Unlock Quests. (Meta ones she gets a hint of, daily ones based on her behavior, slight precog hints for it when they're assigned. Limited time events!).
Reading Rainbow: Skill Book feature unlocked. (Gain levels for skills by reading books associated with it. An elementary school level Math book for example may only offer one or two levels, but a Calculus textbook would offer more.)
Eyes Like a Hawk: Unlock HUD. (This seems like a feature that wouldn't be picked for a while because most of its uses synergize with later choices, and also it might even just be an AP option if not.)
Occupational Hazard: Job System unlocked. (Knowing how much her system loves her, it would let her switch almost anytime with no loss of progress).
Blockbuster: Titles unlocked. (Passive bonuses granted for various achievements and rewards. Let all their bonuses apply since having someone forget or have to change it per situation is already a hassle. They're already a rare reward with minor benefits, no need to make it harsher or more complicated).
In a Jiffy: Fast Travel unlocked. (Instant movement based on something, like points of interest, frequent or friendly locations, etc. Not Bethesda's Time Skip Walk).
Round is a Shape: Gamer's Body unlocked. (Going by your theme, damage would show and happen but still heal rather than the impervious avatar with HP only being affected).
Alchemical Solutions: Gain the ability to combine skills for results greater than the sum. (Have fun with this one. Might help with character sheet bloat).
When I woke up, I saw that prompt appearing in my face. It seems like the prompt will appear whenever I woke up, so long as the date changes.
I quickly stood up and look at the time. Seeing that I still have an hour before the school opens, I take my time leisurely preparing myself.
Taking care of my uniform, cleaning myself, cooking breakfast, and briefly looking through my computer.
When I got to my CURVE, I was surprised to see the representative from Eijicon talking to me. It seems like they are fine with me continuing on the direction for the character designs. I'm glad that happens. It will be a bit troublesome if they ask me to change something, as I already made completed artworks for these characters.
Then checking my Sakka account, I saw that it was now being promoted by the Sakka frontpage. I even got notification in my messages on this site, stating that my story will be featured on their best ongoing series.
I found some messages directed at me from some users, requesting I make some stories or fanfiction for their favorite series. I really didn't want to do that right now, so I decided to politely decline them all. My Typing speed helps me at replying to all of them.
After that, I look at my Harena account, and I also found that someone has left a private message to me. There are three of them at least, and all of them are reaching out to me, wanting to play with me again. It seems like they are some of the players who I played it some days ago.
I replied to them that I'm only available at night, before finally shutting it down.
Next, I go to my laboratory where I made all the peripherals, and the desktop computer itself.
I actually have to repurpose these machineries again. I changed them some days ago to make those different peripherals, though now I have to return their functions for creating the desktop computer itself.
Normally that would be impossible. Each of these precision machines, and other things are very delicate. One thing missing and everything goes wrong. Though that wasn't really an issue to me.
I totally remember every intricate details about the machines I made, and it might be my engineering or improvisation, but I can also think ways how I can repurpose every of these machines to do the other things I wanted.
As expected, having abilities is just cheating!
I easily managed to disassemble every of the machineries, mold some parts within it, rewire some of it, and a lot of things. That only took me half an hour before I am done. Now they can be used again to make desktop computers.
I'll do that next time when I have free time. I only have a little time left before the school gate opens. I have to go now! Izanese Literature doesn't give me any levels on my skills. There is my Keen Hearing and Japanese Language that's slowly increasing, but it's a negligible amount for it's level to rise.
"And so, the dragon god exclaimed "You have done well to have come this far, oh brave wanderer! For you to best my strength with your skills, I commend you!" The brave Yanjiro exclaims "With my blade, I shall slay you and free the land from your tyranny!" and thus their battle begun..."
That's what they are teaching us. Folklores from this country. It somehow relates to Shintoists beliefs, but the long I heard it, the more I can confidently say it definitely have nothing to do with Shintoism.
First of all, the two gods of creation of Iza is known as Kazunagi and Kazunami. Then the gods that they sired are Amanotsukama, Tsukuyoru, and Bofutsujin.
No matter how much I heard that, instead of the venerable gods of the far east, it sounds like they are a family of ninjas. That's how weird their name sounds.
Even other religions are very different despite having the same names as the religion from my old world. They might as well be different religions that only uses the same name.
Now about the current folktale that our teacher is telling us, it seems like it is about one of the Seven Dragon Gods of Rokone. Rokone being the old name of Iza before it became Iza. As for the god being depicted, it seems like they are called Yamashima Taishoku no Mikoto, and in their conceived mortal form, they are regaled and feared as the great and infamous Minakami Ryuseigen.
Minakami Ryuseigen seems to have become addicted to mortal food that she descended from the heavens just to eat everything that a human cooks. Due to this, a brave wandering swordsman by the name of Yanjiro travels around the old lands of Rokone, defeating the followers and direct attendants of the dragon god until they finally faced each other.
Yanjiro fought them for three days and three nights. Wearing the Veil of Wakamo that protects him from the strong suction force of Ryuseigen's Swallowing Fangs, the sandals that he got from Tawanomikata which automatically moves him away from the vicious strikes of the dragon god's claws, and the dragon slaying blade personally created by the God of Metal Kanezokunomikata, he finally struck down the dragon god and so the mortal world has been saved from their tyranny.
Despite being killed, the divine spirit of the dragon god praises him for managing to kill their mortal veil, and thus decided to reward him. They promised that they would stop hoarding every food that humanity eats and will behave themselves if they ever come down again. Also, they gave them one of their treasures as a form of respect for Yanjiro's strength.
Yanjiro then married to the Princess of Wakako Province, thus ending the tale of the Brave Yanjiro.
How did I know all of that? Because I read the whole material while waiting for my teacher to be done! Speed Reading helps me with that!
[Your Ability "Speed Reading" has leveled up!]
Oh, I leveled that up!
And it seems like our teacher didn't even tell the full ending as his time is up.
"You have to study the rest for yourself. This story will also come up with your midterms two days from now!" After saying that, he left our classroom.
That was unreasonable, but I'm sure most of our teachers doesn't care. We still have to submit the projects they gave us last week, and it seems like most of my classmates aren't done yet.
Me? I'm already done! It's on my inventory! It's not like I'm not doing anything after I am done with my daily routines on my weekends! I specifically did all of my project on Saturday after my friends left on that day!
So I don't have to worry about anything! "This is bad!"
Just when I entered our club room, I saw Hayami looking distressed as she shouted like that. Glancing behind her, I can see that even Saki is frowning greatly, and Honomi looks troubled. Shiro is still busy on her laptop with the same gloomy appearance that she has.
"What happened?"
I have a bad feeling about this...
"Our supervisor said that the Student Council President notified her. They said that the school will be shutting down our club if we didn't show any remarkable achievements yet! What should we do!?" Hayami said, clutching her head as she trembles.
What?
"They told her to convey that to us as she is our supervisor. I'm sure they just wanted to get rid of this club!" Saki grumbled.
"The student council gave an ultimatum. They said we need to show results for our club within this week or the club will be forced to close down!" Honomi said to the side.
"The end is near..." Even Shiro, who sounded monotone, felt a bit melancholic based on my discernment of her.
What the hell!? That's impossible!
".... Why don't we make another club then. They can close this down, but we can still create our own club, right?"
Hayami shakes her head, making me frown. "It's impossible. Presidents from disbanded clubs can't create another club for a year. This has been made so people just doesn't create clubs willy nilly...."
"Then let's establish a new club with one of us becoming the new president!"
"Even if we do that, will someone even accept supervising us?"
"I'm sure there is. It's not like the teachers are conspiring against us, right?"
Hayami still seems very unwilling. Which I can understand. She seems very attached to this club.
Though we have to make do with another club. That's the only solution I can think of.
For now, I will try and find someone to supervise the club I am planning to create. Then we can go and think about what to do next after that. Apparently, they are conspiring against us.
After I tried looking for teachers to supervise the new club I am planning to create, all of them harshly rejected me, and some are even shameless enough to "suggest" I just join the Track and Field Club.
Holy, what the hell is wrong with them!?
This is so obvious that even I can tell they are specifically targeting me! The club itself is becoming a collateral just so they can force me to their desired club!
So I go directly to the Student Council despite classes already starting. I actually don't care. Our club is more important right now!
"Oh my, fancy meeting you here, Shinozaki Yumeko. What can I do for you?" The Class President seems amused as she stops whatever she is doing, and then clasped her fingers as she looks at me with that mysterious smile and calm expression that she has.
"That ultimatum. I think that was unreasonable! Can you please retract that?" I wanted to confront her, but decided to calm down and talk politely. I'm an adult here, even if it doesn't look like it.
"But it is reasonable. That club hasn't contributed to anything in this school."
"Do you think developing games is easy? That takes a lot of time!"
"And the school don't care about that." That makes me frown. "It's been three years since it's foundation, and other than the failure they did on their first year, they haven't shown anything that is worth it's continued operation. Just at the right time, there are some club applications that looks more worthy of it's foundation than your club that haven't shown anything yet but a failure. Do you think the school would just waste resources on something useless?"
"I don't recall the school giving us any resources...."
"But we are. The room you are using, the tables, the electricity you used, even the internet, all of it uses the resources of the school. The school pays for all of that, you know?" The way she smiles at me felt somewhat mocking.
".... Then if that was impossible, I would like to establish my own club."
"That's fine, but you have to find a supervisor for the club you wanted to establish first."
"That's the thing. I can't find anyone that wants to do that."
"Then unfortunately, I can't help you with that."
This girl....
"Then what's stopping me from not attending any clubs?"
She smirks at that. "Nothing. You can do what you want in this school. It's not like we hold your freedom here." Then she leaned her back on her chair in a relax manner. "Though, that might impact your future. Not just yours, but everyone from your club. Club activities are important for school, you know?"
"What does that have to do with me?"
"Well, it will reflect on your bio. Clubs are there to train children to become respectable members of society. That will reflect poorly on you, and your friends too if they haven't found anything yet."
I see. So she is going to that angle.
I can simply ditch the club and call it a day. It's not like it is the end of the world even if our club disbands. Though this is Hayami's last year in this school. Later she will go to Senior High where she have to think of her future seriously.
We can just continue our game on my house, though as she said, club activities is important. Even if I can find the time for it, the same can't be said to the four. They will have to find another club just so it doesn't reflect badly on their bio, and that will make them more busier that they won't have the time to make games on my house.
As for not joining any clubs? As I said, it will be bad for their future!
Though, even if they have a hard time in the future, I think I'll just hire them to my company that I'm planning to establish in the future.
"If there is nothing else, you can go back to your class." My silence seems to have been taken as my defeat as I can see the smugness deep within that smile she has.
.... You know what, screw it!
"Wait..."
"Hm?" She looks at me straight without flinching. She still have that look as if she holds everything in her palms.
First, I have to record this. I quickly operated my phone within my pocket as I speak with her.
"We only need to get a remarkable achievement, right?" It seems like I have to force myself to do this.
"Yes. If your club can produce something worthwhile for this school, then it can continue it's operation." She shakes her head. "Though midterms is near. Can you afford the time to think about that club?"
"Would you like to bet on it?"
[Your Ability "Intimidation" has leveled up!]
Now I felt a bit satisfied seeing her being surprised for once.
".... What kind of bet?"
"Simple. If we can make a game that will become popular, I think that's enough to call it remarkable, right?"
"Oh... confident huh?" She nodded at that. "Then, if you lose, I want you to join the Track and Field Club. I also want you to do your best when your on that club."
"Sure. And if I win, you have to fulfill a single request from me!"
I have a plan that will stop this whole school from trying to harass me. I just need to win this bet and get her promise for that.
"Then, I will stake the name of Juouin to honor our bet. I hope you also keep your word when you lose." And done, I got your promise now!
"Sure."
I'll show you. The full power of my cheat ability!
Uh.... I wanted to add a lot more, but I wanted to take a rest for now.... it's really hot in this country....

Hey I just wanted to mention that uhh you missed a word in this sentence in chapter 19. Our MC blew off the rising star of the school as in she dismissed her and uhh I think you can see the problem in this sentence now that I mentioned this little grammar error.

Yumeko: "You're closing the GDC? Well, it doesn't really affect me."
President: "And what if it affects the people you care about?"
Yumeko: "...You have chosen poorly."
Maybe their "game-in-a-week to save the Club" could be something educational, like Baldi's Basics but a bit more serious and less creepy.
Yumeko: "So we have to make a game and study a lot... What if we make a game that helps you study?"
There's definitely an alt timeline where Yumeko decides to join the Track club instead of fighting it, does really well and as time goes by becomes the star. When the final tournament is happening, she signs up for as many as she can and then...
She runs like no one has ever seen. She would be record setting except every time she reaches the finish line she stops short and waits for everyone else to finish.
Every. Single. Time.
Of course, this gets attention and an interview where she talks about how they threatened her to join and all wanted to do was make video games with her friends but the school forced her to do this.
And then accidentally in the interview reveals her artwork and suddenly all the game fans who love her characters get up in arms. The school's reputation tanks.
Hayami suddenly shouted before clutching her head. The others widening their eyes after I told them what happened.
"What are you thinking... we can't possibly do that within a week!"
I know that it's impossible, president. Though, I can't really say anything because I felt a bit guilty about that.
My emotions got to me. When I heard that president casually threatening to include my friends here, I felt like I have to do something. I don't want her underestimating them.
I mean, she doesn't really directly insulted them. Though the way she casually disregards the club might as well be spitting on their name. It's only me they are after that this club got into their eyes.
".... Sorry." That's why, I have to apologize.
"It's fine, no need to cry over it!" Saki suddenly stated.
"B-but.... our club will be shutdown, and Yumeko-chan will be forced to join that club!"
"It's fine, I have a plan." I suddenly said.
"B-but...."
".... Well, Hayami-san. I think we should try our best! We still have a week after all!"
".... What about the midterms exam? It would be bad if we fail our first semester because of this...."
I did it on my own volition, so I should take responsibility for this.
"You don't have to worry about that." I saw them looking at me. "I told you, I have a plan!"
".... Then... what is it?" She tilted her head.
"You said that it was your brother who established this club right?" With her nod, I continue. "Then, did the former members of this club made a game? Did they finish it?"
"Uh... Yes. They made a short RPG game, but it wasn't well received. Barely anyone downloaded the game on the first month, and then it died on the following months."
I can easily see the sadness from her as she says that. It seems like the failure from the former members of this club is also getting to her.
"I see. Let's improve that!"
"Eh? What do you mean?" Hayami seems confused.
"Let's download that game, and then improve it. I'm sure we can do that if we spent all our time in it!"
"But... wouldn't that be impossible!?"
"I have the game." Even as our president is stating her doubts, Shiro seems like she doesn't care as she showed me her laptop. "It's the reason I joined this club."
I look at the screen of her laptop, seeing the pixelated image of a sword stuck in a rock on her desktop screen. The title of the game seems to be Hero of Alms.
"Okay, I would like to play that. Can I borrow your laptop, Shiro-senpai."
After getting her permission with her nod, I take a sit as she leaves it and then hover the cursor to that icon.
"Yumeko...." Hayami still seems worried, so I have to assure her.
"Believe in me, president. I'll make sure that this will succeed!"
[Your Ability "Charisma" has leveled up!]
[Your Ability "Persuasion" has leveled up!]
When did I used persuasion? I'm trying to be reassuring here!
Whatever. Hayami seems to have bought onto my reassurances. Now I have to actually show results to solidify that.
Talking about results. I already swore within my heart that I will take this seriously. That's why, there is no need to hold back anymore. For me, I consider this event as an emergency crisis.
That's why, I have to use my AP to deal with it!
I'll put every abilities I need into level 9. I could have gone for the tenth level, but I felt that is being too hasty. I still wanted to grind these abilities because it is fun. That's why I will only stop at Level 9. I need a lot of EXP for it, so I think that will be plenty of grinding!
So the abilities I chose. Computer Knowledge, Composing, Digital Art, Sound Editing, Programming, Teaching, Typing, and Story Making are all needed to make this work.
Computer Knowledge gave me all those neat knowledge about everything computer, and that means it will help me try and find a way how to make things work with these lowtech computers.
Composing and Sound Editing is for music, Digital Art is for drawing. Typing, Programming, and Story Making are all needed for improving or revising the plot, and also for writing and actually knowing every codes and useful knowledge we need to make things smoother.
As for Teaching, it's simple. This school underestimates this club because it didn't contribute to it. It is understandable because clubs are a serious matter on Iza. It's like an on job training site for students so they can become respectable members of society.
Like, if I remember right, literally every activities in clubs can be used to succeed in life if students just become serious in it. Sports club are obvious. They can become representatives of the country itself, which is a huge honor and they can get a lot of money for it. Even leisure clubs like those who focuses on chess or those who focuses on art can also become successful in the future.
It seems like those type of clubs exists here, and while I haven't checked the state of affairs from them, I can confidently say that they are faring better than our Game Development Club.
This club is a failure. It doesn't contribute anything for these past three years. Like, even if I look through Yumeko's original memories, I can remember those clubs having done some meaningful events and they seem like they are being supported by the school itself.
The only thing I haven't seen are this club, and some others I heard from passing that doesn't really contribute to anything like the Occult Club. In fact, we are becoming the same as those useless clubs who I heard are also being on the verge of shutting down.
I have to take off that image that this club is useless. It won't just go away if I am the only one moving here. My friends also needs to contribute if we want the school to recognize that this club can actually produce useful talents for the society!
So Teaching. Teaching makes it easier for me to convey my knowledge to the others. What better way to convey it than literally telling someone how to do things the way you do it?
And so, as I play the Hero of Alms, I begin talking to them at the same time. Telling them to listen to me, and slowly teaching them the ways how to code, draw, make music, and make stories properly. Hayami blinked her eyes, before gasping in surprise as she noticed that she is within a house. A house that she is definitely sure is not hers, but something familiar.
"It's Yumeko-chan's house...." She muttered to herself.
"President, are you listening?" She got startled after she saw the emerald eyes of the purple haired girl gazing at her with a pout.
"Y-yes! I-im listening!" She squeaks out. 'Even if I don't, I can still understand what you are saying, Yumeko-chan!' She thought to herself.
That's the weird part. They always are given suggestions by Yumeko, and it is easy to remember all of it and even learn a lot of new things through her suggestions. Though it seems like today has become very different.
Instead of just having an easier time to understand what she is saying, her words felt like it is being carved through their mind. Regardless if they haven't heard her properly, her words still sounds so clear, as if she is talking on their ears directly.
The weirdest part about it is the amount of knowledge she is spouting, and their minds actually comprehending what she is saying instantly. They weren't even feeling any headache on the new and advanced knowledge that she is just spouting out, it just felt like it clicks within her mind.
Already, she felt like she has improved leaps and bounds. She can confidently say that what she knows about coding this morning is just trash compared to what she is learning and comprehending right now at the deeply impressing words of their newest member.
It seems like they got so immersed that they are unconsciously following her even to her house. Like their minds are craving for the knowledge that she is spouting, and her willingly giving it like a saint giving a drink to a man in a desert.
"President, this is clearly abnormal!" Saki yelled within the sudden telepathic connection she established to her.
Even when she is surprised that she flinches at the sudden telepathic shout, she still decided to act like nothing happens as she tries to compose herself and talk to her through her mind.
"Do you think so too?"
"Well.... I don't know, but I just felt it is very weird we still understand her even when she is speaking high level stuff! Like just awhile ago, I know nothing about musical language! But now, it felt like I am very familiar with it!"
"I think Saki is right, Hayami-san. I don't know half of what she is saying awhile ago, but now I think all those complicated code strings I have problems with felt so simple now!"
"This one agrees. My knowledge cannot compare to my past. Through our newest member's wise words, my knowledge surpasses the normal me!"
Hayami thinks about it carefully. Yumeko's words felt so profound in their ears. Understandable, but impossible to imitate if they were the one to do the teaching. There is a certain weight to her words that makes it instantly understandable to their ears, that instead of cramming knowledge to their brain, it just felt like recalling something they have long forgotten and is just starting to realize it once more.
"Still.... this can't be a power. Don't tell me, is she a super prodigy!?" Saki exclaimed.
"That can't be possible.... wait, I think that might be possible!" Honomi also goes along with it.
Hayami can get the logic. If the four of them suddenly got powers out of nowhere, then who's to say a super prodigy doesn't exist?
A person who can do anything with barely any effort. Someone like that can't possibly exist. Though if the fantastical is real, then a super genius is not a farfetched idea to exist in this world.
"Then... does that mean a super genius just coincidentally joined our club?" Hayami gasps after those words left on her shallow parts of her mind.
"That does sound very impossible, like something out of an anime!" Saki said, before she hums for a moment within their mind. "You know what, getting powers is also a cliche in anime! Wasn't this forming into something big!?"
Hayami felt like they are suddenly missing the point entirely, though she ignored that feeling as she also believes Saki's claim. It can't be just a coincidence after all.
Even if they are teenagers now, they are also pretty young. While they have some ambitious dreams that can be reached so long as they have the talent and patience for it, they are still children who also wants to live in their dreams. Like Hayami who once, when she was a child, dreams of becoming a magical girl just like those anime shows for children that she watches some years ago.
It can't be helped that they will focus on something ridiculous like actually being special on the grand scheme of things.
"I think you're right. It felt like it was fate that we meet each other. Is there some sort of purpose that we suddenly got powers?" Hayami is now thinking like that.
"Well, what else would be the reason how we got it? There is no way we will just get a power for no reason, right?" Saki stated.
"We know this already. We have been chosen by the darkness! We must vanquish the evil forces of light, and protect the peace of the world!"
"Shiro, sometimes I can't help whether to think of you as cool or dorky..." Saki muttered, and she can see her now staring at Shiro with a deadpan.
"Girls, can you please concentrate and listen to me?"
When they heard her words, they somehow felt like they understood. Their body quickly straightening in tandem as their attention comes back to her.
".... Anyway, as I was saying...."
Hayami still don't know what's with Yumeko. As time passes, she kept showing feats that are incredible for her age. Even though they got powers now, they still felt a bit inadequate to her.
'Well, even if there is some deep and mysterious reason why we got powers, or why you joined our club out of nowhere, I won't change how I see you. You will still be our friend, Yumeko-chan!'
Hayami reaffirmed to herself once more. No matter how special they became, they should still treat each other the same. She can't let just having powers get to her head, or the knowledge that they have some bigger purpose on this world or something make her think that she is important than the others. Is this how the teachers feels when doing their lecture?
I can easily discern whenever they are distracted, and it is troubling whenever I noticed that their minds are somewhere and are not listening to me.
We are in a pinch here, you know? I'm doing this so that school won't underestimate you!
The thought of someone underestimating these amazing girls just doesn't sit right with me! I want to show them how amazing these girls are!
I hope Hayami and the others also think the same. It will be bad if they are thinking about something irrelevant...
Yumeko knows her abilities have cheat-like capabilities.... she just doesn't know how much of it is ridiculously BS...
Yumeko thought that teaching just makes it easier to teach others and make them learn something easily. She didn't know how it actually works behind the scenes.
This is one of the things I debated within myself when I am writing this story. One of the things I like to think about are the abilities themselves and how they function.
I think teaching is just conveying knowledge to someone. You told someone something with your own knowledge, and then they must comprehend it depending on how you worded it. If you did it right, they can learn it. Though if you did it wrong, then you will just leave them confused.
Then I think how I can improve the meaning of teaching, and I decided "Why not just exaggerate the conveying the knowledge part?"
And so Teaching became an ability that literally conveys what she knows to the others. It became so potent it might as well be magic.
By the way, this is also the case for other abilities. Well, not really the same, but the equivalent of it. Like Typing just makes you type on your keyboard faster because it is the only thing I can think of about typing.
Teaching doesn't really give anyone she teaches the supernatural stuff she can do, like typing 500+ wpm on a keyboard, or creating mini factories out of literal scraps, and even repurposing those same mini factories to do something else.
What teaching can do is just conveying her knowledge about things to them, which is already a huge leapt as she got a lot of it through her own powers. So the club members thoughts about improving a lot is only about the knowledge thing, and not really about the magical stuff like suddenly being capable of something supernatural with those talents.
I hope you understand my barely coherent explanation. I'm not really good at explaining things....

The only thing I haven't seen are this club, and some others I heard from passing that doesn't really contribute to anything like the Occult Club. In fact, we are becoming the same as those useless clubs who I heard are also being on the verge of shutting down.
Occult Club: "We heard about how you managed to save the Game Development Club. Please, you have to help us too!"
Yumeko: 'Hmm, this would let me grind a completely different set of skills...' "Okay!"
