So yesterday when I came back home, I spent my time doing one of the fanfic ideas from one of my commissioners, and then writing a short story for it. It only has 58 chapters with a total word count of 290,000 words.
That's about 3,200 words a minute on average (not counting little things like stopping to think or replot things - which she might have not done anyway because of her mental skills.)
The record for words-per-minute (in the English language, which is easier for me to find data about) is around 300, so Yumeko is typing at about ten times the world record.
In addition, Yumeko is probably not using a PS/2 keyboard, which has a rate of 10kHz or 909 scancodes/s, as her average typing speed would give a rate of around 800 scancodes/s. And because that's an average, certain key combos may mean that her key inputs are ignored or given in error because they're happening too fast.
The slowdown is rarely with the hardware and more with the software of the OS. The OS also has a buffer of pushed keys not yet processed for the current program. If it's Windows it's called 'Windows message pump'.
You can actually get the keyboard to type faster than the screen or program displays but if you fill the buffer/pump windows will 'ding' at you every keypress until it has room.
Looks like she's getting away with typing so fast because:
1. Her computer (keyboard included) was custom-made in Yumeko's Lab.
2. In a previous chapter she realized that her skills must be warping reality in order to have their intended effect.
And she's using her godlike power... to write fanfiction. Yumeko knows very well what her priorities are!
This one is true. If the intended effect for the ability can't be done by the tools or stuffs she needs to do it, the ability itself will make it so it is possible. This is also true to any of her production or artistic type abilities. Along with making her extremely skillfully and knowledgeable to it, she also becomes faster in it everytime she levels it up.
EDIT: Anyway, got a bit busy but I will definitely upload a chapter today. Please wait for a bit!~
Hayami is in the middle of responding when she stops midway and then raises her head in confusion for a moment. After awhile she remembered what she is doing and then started responding once more.
Though before she could do that, Yumeko seems to have made another reply to her. This time telling them that they should be careful as something important has distracted her and that she will be delayed for awhile.
"Did something happen to one of her techs?" Hayami muttered in wonder.
Others think that Yumeko's capability is being extremely talented in everything. She is a super genius that can create wonders, and they think she mostly relies on hi-tech stuff she created to help her with her problems.
So it is understandable why they would think like that.
The others only glances at her and then shrugged their shoulders before Honomi asked. "What should we do now, Hayami-san?"
The mysterious fixation they have over saving the hostages themselves is now dulled, though they still felt somewhat obligated to go and do something helpful.
"... I think the police won't like our presence if we show ourselves again..." Hayami muttered to herself.
Even with her limited knowledge about it, she knows that the four of them messed up at that entrance. Now that they are thinking straight, they can contemplate it carefully without their mind being weirdly fixated on saving the people. The police will have words for them, and they might even be stopped before they can explain themselves. Even arrested because they almost jeopardized the lives of the hostages inside with their stunt.
"By the way, Yumeko-chan gave us a book, right? Who is holding it right now?"
"Me." Shiro responded to their vice president's question. "I'm grateful I read it. I think it saved me..." Shiro said.
The white-haired girl unconsciously touched the part of her torso that has been healed a short while ago.
".... We should have read that book. Yumeko-chan is right, we are getting arrogant just because we have powers!" Hayami lamented before looking up in determination. "But let's not dwell on that and think of a solution to this problem."
"Look..." The two of them look at where Shiro is pointing, gasping in surprise when they saw that there is barely any crowd surrounding the bank.
"What happened?" Hayami tilted her head in wonder.
"I'll look into it." Before they can stop her, Shiro quickly vanishes from their sight.
"Wait.... ugh, okay, let's wait out here." Hayami said before turning to Honomi. "Let's think how we should tackle this."
"Mhm, let's do so..."
And so as they wait for Shiro to come back, they decided to plan another attempt. This time in a careful manner. Saki is feeling tired of using her powers. She is constantly using it in fear of Negai suddenly running away from her. She has tried to pull her somewhere, but the girl is surprisingly stubborn.
'I'll stop using my powers for a bit... it is giving me a headache now...' She thought to herself and decided to disable her telepathic link to her.
Just as she did that, she felt her nose becoming a bit itchy which causes her to sneeze unintentionally. Due to that, her grip on the girl's shoulder lightened for a moment.
And as if fate is conspiring against her, it is the same time Negai attempted to pry herself away from her which she did with ease due to the loss of the weight of her hands holding onto her shoulders.
"Waaa!?" Saki gasps in surprise, but it is too late.
As if she had completely forgotten her, Negai runs away from this alleyway. Making her widen her eyes in shock.
"W-wait!" Saki immediately tried to follow, though she still felt a bit lightheaded. Having used her powers for awhile now. "I don't know how, but it seems like the crowd lost interest in this incident." Shiro told them after she came back.
".... Isn't that fine?" Hayami decided not to think much about it and take it as a blessing.
With lesser civilians staying this close to an ongoing bank robbery slash hostage situation, they will feel more confident about doing some bolder moves.
"I also heard that special forces will come soon to take care of this event." Shiro simply said.
".... Then, is our presence needed here?" Honomi asks in wonder.
Hearing the word Special Forces, even if they actually don't know what it fully meant, they think this city is taking this seriously. Hayami also thinks that they shouldn't interfere anymore if something like that is going to respond to this situation.
Though Shiro seems to think otherwise.
"It is needed. With our powers, we can easily neutralize every threat!" Shiro said before continuing. "This time, I am going to catch them with my darkness!" Shiro laid out.
"But I thought you said it's impossible to sneak inside without being seen by those criminals? How come?" Hayami tilts her head.
"I'll just try harder..." Shiro simply said coldly before continuing. "You can leave now if you want, but I will take care of this..." She simply said.
It is unnoticeable by them but Shiro's hands are clenched into fists, shaking softly as she was reminded of that painful burning feeling from her torso awhile ago.
Though the reminder of how she was healed, and how the one who has healed her seems to be carrying some sort of burden and still wanted to save all of those people within the bank makes her push her scared heart away and try. She feels it will be incredibly embarrassing if she, someone who has an admittedly stronger power than a child whose power is a detriment to herself, cowers in the face of adversity.
"..... If you are going inside anyway, then how can we leave? Let's do this together!" Hayami said.
"Right, and we also made some plans that might help neutralize those criminals inside!" Honomi chirps into the side.
"I see, then we must start the operation before the Special Forces appear." Shiro declares.
And so they conveyed the hastily made plan they thought of. Shiro thinks it is very ingenious when she heard the full details.
"Then... I will prepare the insects." Shiro said, not minding it. She is someone who isn't afraid of insects.
"Thanks. Please do so." Honomi bowed her head in thanks.
After that, Shiro left once more. This time to collect what they needed for their next attempt of rescuing the criminals. "Ugh... just where did they go?" Ototsuki Megane grumbled under her breath as she walks to the side of the road.
She tries to go beyond the school cordon but was immediately stopped, and heavily chastised by the officer who saw her. There are a lot of them so she can't sneak off even if she wants to.
There are also no more reports about the girls with supernatural powers. They just vanished as quickly as they appeared after the criminals retaliated. Even the reporters seem to have lost interest, making her conspicuous to the eyes of the others as she is one of the few who are still staying to look at the ongoing incident.
She is just trying to go back to the Occult Club's President to report the lack of presence of the supernatural girls when she suddenly bumped into someone.
That someone has a familiar strand of silver hair, making her easily recognize her.
"Negai-san? What are you doing here?" Megane asks in surprise.
Negai is also surprised at bumping into her, though she quickly holds onto her wrists.
"Do you want to save the people from the bank?" She asks while glancing up at her. Her facial expression seems distressed as she stares at her.
"Uh... more than that, I want to find those superpowered girls first!"
"If that is so, then your wish will be granted!" She seems incredibly excited as she quickly clasps her hands and seems to glow for a bit.
Megane blinks her eyes for a moment, before shaking her head. Though before she could recover, she notices that Negai vanishes from her eyes.
".... Huh? What happened...?"
As that is happening, Negai is still in front of her. Though she notices that Megane somehow can't see her. Thinking that this is another price she has paid for the wish to come true, she quickly left the place and tried to go above the police blockade.
She is just soldiering on the persistent pain searing within her torso. Mostly trying to ignore or endure the pain as she got to the side of the police. It also seems like they don't notice her too, making it easier for her to get past through their cordon and into the entrance to the bank.
Just before she can enter though, she heard someone speaking. A police officer it seems.
"This is such wishful thinking, but I really hope every hostage is safe!" He muttered that with his breath, not really wanting someone to hear it.
Though she heard it all the same. Her ears are sensitive to words that contain wish, hope, or anything that has to do with wishing or hoping.
And feeling obligated to do so, she clasped her hands once more.
"Then I will grant your wish!"
It is her life's mission to atone for her sins and save as much as she can until her body expires. It is her self-imposed goals that spur her to continue on this suicidal path.
Another aspect of reality seems to have been rewritten just so the wish can be accommodated, though the price is unknown. Negai didn't think much about it as she goes further into the place while leaving the police who suddenly looks around after hearing her voice that echoes around.
'I have to make sure....' There is a certain madness within her gaze as she takes a step forward. Her eyes set on the entrance being blocked by the large vine created by one of those girls.
I would be really glad if I have at least Yumeko's Typing and Story Making ability. That will totally help me a lot!
Anyway, I'm sorry for the short chapter... I got incredibly busy reading a certain let's play series on SV. It's full of nostalgia to me. Also, life in general...
Hope you still have fun even if nothing much happens in this chapter....

Shiro has come back along with different types of insects she found from each corner of every building in the vicinity of this district. When she came back, she was surprised when she was met with the panicking Hayami, Honomi, and surprisingly Saki.
"We have to go inside the bank now! Negai is in danger!" Saki looks incredibly serious and her voice is tinted with irritation as she says that.
Shiro stares at them for a moment, before narrowing her eyes and going to them. Tapping Honomi to her shoulders.
"The insects are here. What is happening?" She said, dropping all the insects she stored within her shadows.
Honomi quickly did her work while Hayami explained to her. It seems like, through unfortunate coincidences, Negai escaped Saki's clutch and seems to have gone to the bank.
"If she goes along with this, she will die!" Saki exclaimed.
"... Does it have something to do with her powers?"
"Half of the reason. The truth is that she is going on a stupid martyr complex!" Saki said in anger. "She wanted to die! What kind of messed up thinking is that!?"
"Huh... why does she want to die?" Hayami exclaimed in surprise.
"She thinks it's her fault she killed her parents!" Saki bluntly said, much to the horror of her friends and Shiro's apparent indifference. "Most of her memories get on the surfaced of her mind, and reading her thoughts is incredibly unpleasant!" Saki spat, shuddering for a moment at the recollection.
"That's what I am saying! I can't understand why she wanted to kill herself in a roundabout way. It wasn't clear on her thoughts!" Saki shakes her head. "But we have to stop her!"
"Right... I think we can pull this off." Honomi said as she turned to them. "I talked to every insect you brought Shiro-san. I'm sure they know what they have to do!"
Saki tilts her head, then makes a mental connection to them for a moment before slowly nodding.
"Uh... that might work... but that doesn't solve our problem with that girl. We have to save her!"
"I'll take care of it." Shiro said simply. "Do your thing while I look for her." Shiro added as she gazes at Honomi.
".... Be careful, Shiro-san..." Hayami said to the side.
After that nod, she looks at the thousands of spiders, cockroaches, and other types of insects below the ground before they simply sink into the darkened concrete ground. Then Shiro followed along with them after awhile.
The others can only wait for Shiro's return. They can't do anything other than believe that their plan might work. "Listen, everyone! If you don't want these people to be harmed, you will let us go!"
"What is your demand!?"
"We want all of you to stop blocking the roads, and let us get away. We will let go of these civilians if you let us go!"
".... We want you to release the hostages first!"
"No! Leave us alone or else something bad will happen!"
"If you do that, then things will get bloody! Let's do this peacefully!"
"Cut the crap! We know that you can't afford for any civilians here to die!"
"We can end this peacefully... you just have to let go of the hostages, and we will try to accommodate your demands."
"No! Take off those blockades and if I find another trickery from you lot, someone will be killed!"
It is a neverending circle of shouting through their megaphones. The police trying to de-escalate the situation and the criminal leader who is threatening them. Knowing that they have all the hands, though their time is running short.
When those from the Special Forces arrive, regardless if they have hostages, they will be screwed. It might become bloody, but the battle will lean on the police's side rather than theirs, and the public backlash they will get will be minimal because those from the SAT are specialized in this situation.
Of course, the young Negai doesn't know all about it as she walks straight inside the bank without anyone seeing her. Their eyes coincidentally avoiding her figure as she walks straight to the people still kneeling or prone to the floor, some sobbing and others trembling.
"Goddammit! We are stuck here!" The leader grunted in anger.
"Shit! We have to kill someone to make an example of!"
"Stop it, fucker! Stay put and let me handle this!" The leader turned to the man in a skull mask before raising the megaphone he got inside the lobby counter, and then shouting on it again to raise his demands.
They still don't know if they have snipers or something. They wanted to ensure that their path is clear before they can drive away from this place. The plan is to drag some of the hostages with them as they drive away from here, making sure to threaten the police to kill them if they ever follow them.
It doesn't guarantee that they will escape, but it increases the chances for them mostly as the rules of engagement for the police in this country don't include car chases with a hostage in them. They know it, and people won't normally find themselves in that kind of situation.
"When can we leave, leader?" A tall man asks.
"Just wait. Give me a moment!"
Negai ignores it and looks at the people huddled around on the sides. Her eyes widened when she saw an old man who is incredibly still and a child who is now sleeping. A bruise on his face and still seems to be clutching the hem of the clothes of the old man's shoulders.
She gasps in surprise, before reaching out. Shaking the child for a moment and wanting to hear his wish. There is an obvious connection between the young man and this old wounded man. She thinks the child might just say something she is thinking of.
Before she could do that though, she flinches when multiple gasps were heard around her.
"What the fuck!? What's happening!?"
The one with the skull mask and sleek rifle exclaimed as he flailed around. Seeing some insects leaving his body.
It was also the case for the other robbers. Insects suddenly appear within their bodies. The slight prickling feeling of their limbs touching their skin within makes them shudder, mostly because they are very tense after that large vine that suddenly knocks out two of them.
"Shit! Shit!" Some of them quickly take off their shirts or tops, before screaming as they saw even centipedes just dropping from their clothes. Some still sticking to their body.
The chaos ensues, and some will panic enough that they will lose their composure and forget where they are putting their fingers. Like one of them accidentally pulling the trigger of the gun.
Though nothing happens. Only the crunchy and squishy sound was heard within the pistol they are using when they pulled the trigger. This is also the case for the others who also accidentally pulled the trigger. Even rifles seem to have been jammed and then malfunctioned. Causing the bullet container itself to explode when the mechanism mistakenly shot while some sort of obstacle is blocking it.
"Where did all of these come from!?" The leader exclaimed in surprise and slight fear as she rips the body armor and the clothes he is wearing. Seeing worms, cockroaches, and even spiders on his chest and stomach and causing him quickly wipe them away from their body.
Negai looks around, and it is only for a moment but she noticed some of the criminals vanishing within the darkness. As if someone is dragging them to the side, or on the floor.
Then her eyes widened when the old man and the child who is groggily waking up were also sunk into the ground.
"No!" Negai tries to reach out to them, but it is too late. They quickly vanished as quickly as she blinks.
"... What is this? Is this another one of those power bullshits!?" The leader exclaimed as he pointed his gun anywhere.
Taito, the man in a skull mask is roaring around too, before he seemingly sinks into the ground as if it was a deep pool. Then Negai noticed that the whole place has become eerily silent as everyone is finally gone other than the leader.
And without showing who they are, the leader gawked as some sort of dark feelers wraps around his ankles before he vanishes in a blink of an eye.
And with another blink, the white-haired crimson-colored-eyed girl reveals herself. Looking around her surroundings.
"Where is she?" Negai heard her mutter.
Negai tries to stand up and walk up to her. Wanting to take her attention before she gasps as she suddenly heard the sound of flesh being torn extremely close to her ears. The next thing she notices is the blade of a katana reflecting the dim lighting of this room brightly, creating a glittery sparkle around the room with its appearance alone.
And that blade seems to point extremely close to the white-haired girl who froze in shock at its sudden appearance of it. And then the next one who gasps is her who finally noticed that the blade started on her body. Specifically on her shoulder.
"Ugh!?"
"Hmm.... curious." A girl seemingly slightly taller than her, which is still short, said. The girl has a fox mask covering her appearance.
Shiro's eyes widened for a moment before quickly jumping away from the place, sinking into the darkness.
Negai grunted, stifling a scream as the sword was yanked away from her shoulder and then the girl with a fox mask looks around. Before her voice hitches for a brief moment as shadows seem to entangle her limbs.
As Negai fell to the floor with a thud, a series of sharp noises pierces through the air before the shadowy feelers vanishes from her ankles. Along with the surroundings seemingly creating multiple lines that stayed for a split second before they vanished.
"Tsk! Surprising... you can hide your presence well!" The girl with a fox mask says before continuing. "Though useless. It will only take some time before I finally catch you with my blade." The girl in a fox mask says.
On the side, Shiro only stares at her. Tilting her head in wonder at what she is talking about.
'I, the Hero of Darkness, am only looking for my savior. What is this girl talking about?' She thought in wonder before she perks up as she felt multiple people getting within her range of shadow senses. 'She is not here anyway, so I might as well...'
And so she leaves the place by sinking into the ground, while the girl in a fox mask gloats about how she is some minion of some higher being. When the police reaches the place and saw her, the girl in a fox mask, Azunamaru, gasps in surprise.
"You coward!" The girl screamed as the police told her to stand down with loud voices. 'This is bad. I can't make a lot of commotion here without getting to my objective!'
While still feeling angry, she sheathed her sword and then suddenly becomes a blur to the eyes of the police. Vanishing from their eyes without them knowing where she even goes other than the breeze of wind that passes through them.
All of them are briefly stunned before the scream of their commanding officer quickly pushes them to secure the whole area around them. Indicating that they have acquired the criminals that Shiro seems to have transported somewhere.
"No...." No one noticed the girl who is lying on the ground. Clutching her bleeding shoulder. Her eyes looked incredibly downcast. "I failed... I didn't save them...." She muttered under her breath in a crestfallen manner.
She is unable to even blame them because they can't see her. So I definitely don't want to fight. If I was forced to choose between living a boring and unassuming life or a thrilling but dangerous one, I will pick the first option any time of the day!
Like why do people want to do something dangerous in their life? Do they want to shorten their life so much just for that sense of thrill?
Well, it's their own interest. I don't care. I mostly want to live by my own principles, and that principle is having a happy life without any troubles!
So what am I saying here? Where am I going with this?
You see, I am facing a literal Outer God! I'm not making that up, he literally admitted that he is one of the Great Old Ones!
That meant a huge thing! He is from the beyond, not some Elder God or Old God living in this world!
This directly references one of the mythos from my past life. Specifically, one that has been written by H.P. Lovecraft. While I am not well-versed in that literature, I have some knowledge because some games and anime love to reference creatures from that literature.
I should have read Cthulhu Mythos on my past life if I know I'll be facing a real Outer God. This is just ridiculous!
So anyway, what I am doing now is more ridiculous than that. You see, this Gysphilles whatever their name is extremely interested in me. So much that he wanted to pull me to some other dimension and see if I can survive somehow.
Of course, I don't want that. I will definitely not go to any dimension that an Outer God chose for me. That will end up in suffering and insanity. No thanks!
But I can't just snub this being. They can simply call for my existence to be erased, and I don't want to die a second time right now!
So what I did is so simple and yet so stupid if someone heard about it.
"Are you ready to play now, Shinozaki Yumeko?"
That ever-changing facial expression of that mask is really creepy, but the majority of the expression seems to indicate he is amused or even happy.
"Yes. Remember, no tricks. We will only rely on pure luck."
"Of course."
And so the two of us stares at each other, and then at the floor of the table that I provided through my inventory. On the table are two dices.
I, a reincarnator with a cheat power, and he who is an Outer God, is playing with the odds.
The stakes?
He leaves me alone and everyone I consider my friend if I win!
If I lose though, I'll become a Shambalac, whatever that means, and serve him for eternity.
I don't have to worry. I just used up some of my AP to get an edge on this. I hope I win somehow.
Shambalac is translated as "Eternal Slave" to the Outer Gods of this series.
This might be the only chapter I can write for now. I felt incredibly tired writing this specific chapter.
I don't know... this has taken many revisions as I wanted to write some scenarios that really doesn't work because of the consequences of the other actions from the past chapters.
It's a mix of sudden realizations as I wrote the chapter, like the part where Negai is invisible to everyone's eyes, the one where instead of everyone from the GDC going to fight the bad guys it's only Shiro because it makes sense that she is the only one who will go there and the others will only be a burden even if she takes them along with her, Azunamaru not noticing Shiro because of the Fame Manipulation, realizing that Shiro was already stated to teleport criminals straight to jails so she can do that to the criminals within the bank, etc.
Yeah... I am still unsatisfied with this chapter, but it is taking too long that I want to finish this one right now. The next chapter might be easier to write though, because that is the part I really want to write!
I hope you have fun with this chapter...

Author, I came to this story to read the shenanigans of Yumeko, but the last few chapters have just been about some stupid side characters and their stupidity. Like entire chapters filled with only these side characters. Please tone those down.

Sorry if it feels like Yumeko is being sidelined on these recent chapters. I think it is needed to show the other characters and not just her perspective, but I will try to tone it down if the readers didn't like it.

You're doing fine, in my opinion this was a needed section to highlight how bs Yumeko is. Without her around the good guys struggle, and as soon as she shows up it's basically a near effortless win. One Punch Man does something similar.

IMO, side character chapters work best when they're giving another viewpoint on the main character, showing how crazy their OP powers really are and how ordinary people react to them, rather than when the chapter is just showing the side characters going off on a sidequest.
