Ominous councils of doom are boring, i'd rather just see capitalism be destroyed and completely freaking out by a totally bimboheaded chuunibyou just because optimal profit and 9-to-5's leave not enough time for videogaming and novels, so they're problems to be solved.

I just got the junks I ordered on the nearest junkyard, and was currently messing around with it. I extracted the needed materials within those junk so I can create the machines I needed to create the parts I need to create a CPU. It's a really long process, and because I don't have enough money to buy the necessary equipments for it, the only choice is to create it myself.
Within the first three hours, through my surprisingly incredible array of knowledge on technology, science, and computer, along with my improvisation, I managed to create the extraction device to further make it easier for me to extract the basic components from the junks I have.
Another three hours in, and I just finished creating the machine that I will be using to create thin strands of wires for these coppers, silvers, golds that I managed to extract on some of these junks.
Despite the incredible efficiency I can do these stuff, it still took me six hours, and I barely started on creating the CPU itself!
I decided to take a rest for now and continue tomorrow. Going to my computer and booting it up, I was just browsing some of my accounts on the internet when I got to my Piciv. I noticed that another message is coming to me. It's someone with named the Lead Developer of Eijicon Games.
I tried to look at their bio first, and was surprised to see he is actually legit. It seems like this account is just for business only.
Having finally verified that he is indeed someone from a company called Eijicon, I finally decided to read the message he got for me. Reading the contents, it seems like he wanted to commission to me for their upcoming game this June.
It seems like they are going to create a mobile Gacha Game, and they have been looking for some artist that can help them. I am one of the artist that he discovered, and he wants to commission my service for some arts for their game.
Gacha Games is at it's infancy on this age. I tried looking for some, and I barely find anything at all. Yumeko's original memory have two games that can be considered a Gacha Game, though both of those already ended their services just this last year.
I'm actually fine working for this. Though, I have to asked him first whether they are fine letting me work on my age. So I replied to his message, telling him that I am interested, but that I am unsure because I'm still a middle schooler.
Surprisingly, I got a quick reply after a few minutes. The reply states that it is fine for them, but just to be sure they will have to contact my family first.
Family huh.... Yumeko's parents are both working overseas. Specifically on US. Yes, I'm actually surprised the name of that country is still the United States of America. It's the only one that retains it's name.
Anyway, I think that is reasonable. I just have to call them. Yumeko has a good impression of her parents. Well, it's actually a selfish reason because she only wants to be free of their sight and just focus on her own hobbies. Still she has a good impression, because her parents are incredibly supportive of her own decisions.
I'll use the smartphone that Yumeko always uses. I still recall the number my father has with Yumeko's memories. While calling my father, I also replied that I will tell my father soon, and ask if he will be fine to take the deal in my stead.
After awhile, my call got through. Behind this number is Yumeko's father. This will be the first time I will be talking to him... Gregor Islands. An island that exists on the side of the Gregor States. On the coast of the island, in it's sandy shores, a man with Izanese features is taking a smoke. His emerald colored eyes look a bit solemn as his light brown hair sways gently on the tropical breeze.
He is surprised when he heard the sounds of his phone ringing. Quickly taking it, he widened his eyes at the number calling out to him. His solemn expression quickly turned bright as he accepted the call, spitting the cigarette propped to his lips before he puts the phone besides his ear.
"What is it, my sweet angel?~ Do you want a new console, my little darling?~"
Shinozaki Tooru. This is the father of the original Shinozaki Yumeko. Though he is usually serious, when it comes to his daughter, his expression always shifts into 180°. Becoming a doting father to his only daughter.
"Uh.... first of all, how are you Dad? Is Mom fine?"
He gasps in shocked when he heard the words of his daughter. Though she sounded a bit unsure, as if she is looking for some words to say, it is still surprising to her hear actually conveying her concern to them.
Since she became ten, she has become fed up with their constant doting of her. Though he will admit what they did is too far, they can't help it because their daughter is so cute and loveable in their eyes. They always want to keep spoiling her as much as they can.
This might be why their daughter actually demanded to live by herself, and while they tried to deny her for a few times, they relented after their daughter didn't talk to them for a whole week.
They didn't have the heart to harm or discipline their daughter. She has been their treasure since she was born. There is reason why they want to treasure their daughter so much, so they didn't want her to hate them. So in the end, they finally gave her the house.
It's also just right, because it is getting dangerous for them to stay with their daughter.
Hearing her concern is like a flash of lightning striking his body. It is that surprising!
"Aaaah! Do you miss Papa and Mama? I'll book a flight to Iza as soon as possible!"
"It's not like that, Dad. I was just asking.... hmm, by the way, I actually got offered to work on a game company for my arts. I wanted to accept, but I'm still twelve, so I was hoping if I can get your permission and take care of the deal?"
"What!?" He exclaims in shocked, before quickly narrowing his eyes. "Who is it? How dare they make my precious daughter work!?"
"Dad... I want to do it. No one is forcing me here...."
".... Wait, are you sure?" He is confused. He knows the lazy nature of his daughter. Though he tries to be blind to it, he is familiar how she hates doing anything other than her own hobbies.
"Yes Dad. So can I?"
Another surprising thing is that she is actually asking for his permission. Normally his daughter will just demand for it. It might be their fault because they spoiled her too much, though now she seems to have turned for the better.
"Y-yes.... of course! If you truly want to do it, then I will fully support you! Just leave it to your Dad!"
"Thank you, Dad!~"
With that, the call ended. Though he still stayed in his position for awhile. His body frozen.
"Honey~ I'm done taking care of it.... hm?" The beautiful voice of a woman called out, before stopping. Her golden eyes rising in confusion. "What is it?"
"Aaaaaah! Yumeko-chan actually thanked me! I can die happy now!~"
"Yumeko-chan!?" The woman exclaimed in surprised, before her body blurred and then instantly appears besides him. "Did our little darling call!? How dare you not call me!?"
He grasps the collar of his formal attire roughly, shaking him repeatedly as she glared at him.
"W-wait... I can explain!" He said in a stutter, his words echoing as he was shaken around.
It took awhile of explaining before she finally calmed down. Though now she looks a bit depressed.
"Our sweet angel didn't ask me... does she hate me, does she not like Mama anymore....?"
"Come on now, Dear. I'm sure she will call us soon. You can talk to her as much as you want the next time she calls!"
His words perks her up from her moping, and she quickly stood up. "That's a promise, okay!" He nodded awkwardly, though feeling relieved to see his wife finally happy once more.
After that they look beyond the waters on the beach. Seeing the silhouette of the vessels approaching their location. He looks serious once more, and his wife's expression turned cold after seeing that.
"It's a shame we can't get near our little angel." He said with a sigh.
"Right.... it would be dangerous if they learned we have a daughter..." She said with a sigh.
The boats stops on the shores near them, the serious looking group of men in military combat suits jumping and then getting near them before saluting.
"I heard the details awhile ago. Good work, you two. You can go back to the base now." A man with blonde hair, and a mustache with the same color says as he walks calmly to them. His military coat swaying behind him as he walks.
"Thanks, General. We appreciate it." Tooru smiled mysteriously at the general before he walks to the boat presented to them.
As the two of them walks to the boat, the general glances at them before looking on the forest just beyond the shores of this island. His eyes narrowing for a moment, before a small smirk formed on his lips.
"As expected of the Demon Priestess Duo. They make short work of these types of cases..."
Deep within the forest, there is a broken slabs of rocks within. The rocks has some weird engravings in it that are now cracked, faded, or broken to pieces. There are smidge of blood and other unknown fluids surrounding these area. Though nothing else can be seen other than that.
The General nodded at that. One of his eyes that seems to reflect some sort of geometric patterns dimming and returning to their dull blue ones.
After that, they left the scene. All of them leaving the island and letting it return to it's peaceful silence.
Finally, this is the introduction for the supernatural side. This has been planned since I wrote this story, though I just don't know how to write it.... I hope this is fine...

The next day, after I am done just eating lunch and cleaning my house, I heard my phone ringing. Taking it, I saw that someone is calling me on my CURVE.
Hey girl, are you free?
Oh it's Saki. Maybe she wanted to invite me to go out?
Though, I don't have time. I already scheduled weekends as my sole grinding time.
Hey girl are you free?
I'm currently busy
Eh? What are you doing?
Told you, I have a lot of dream
I'm busy writing and drawing stuff for my dream!
Cool!
Then we will visit you in your house then!
Tell us where you live!
".... Huh!?"
Wait, are you sure about that?
What is it?
There is nothing interesting you can do in my house!
No way!
I want to see what you are doing!
Even the president is curious!
Wait, the president is along with you!?
Along with Shiro-chan and Honomi-chan!
All of us are having a girl's day out!
.... Well, if she insists. Then might as well.
Okay fine.
Yippee! Now tell us your address!
After telling them my address, I turned off my phone and then decided to locked my lab. Can't let them see me doing something ridiculous as making my own mini factory.
My house is already clean, so the only thing I need to do is to prepare some snacks and drinks before they come. My cooking ability will come in handy here! I don't know why but I am somewhat on an artistic mood right now. I made some chocolate almond cookies that has different shapes. Some complicated ones like the umbrellas, stars, human shaped, and even this cute chibi bear shapes I made.
It has become easier to mold them with my fingers. Maybe because of my Ambidexterity, or some sort of ability. Likely even my Crafting skill?
[You learned "Sculpturing"]
And I got another ability. I'll have to think of how I can grind that...
I also made some cheese cakes. Then a pudding on the remaining eggs I have after those cheesecakes. After that, I finally made some wafers with strawberry and vanilla fillings.
As I am preparing for the juices, I heard the sound of the doorbell ringing. I quickly moved to my door and push the button that lets me see who is in front of our gate. Seeing the familiar faces of my seniors, I opened the door.
"Hello, Yume-chan!~" Saki waves her hand enthusiastically.
All of them looks fashionable. I can see that Saki only wears simple combinations of clothes, but because she is slender, so it still shows her appeal. As for the vice president and the president, both of them have good style. Shiro wears a hoodie so her appearance can be barely seen, but she is still cute and it looks fitting to her sleepy looking expression.
"Sorry for suddenly visiting..." Honomi is the one who said that, and I have to wave my hand in dismissal.
"It's fine. Come, I made some for all of us!" I said, before opening the gate for them.
"Wow, your house looks so sparkly!~" Saki exclaimed as I let them enter the door to my house.
"Amazing~ Do you have someone cleaning for you?"
"Uh no, I cleaned it all myself."
Answering my president like that, she seems shocked before glancing around once more. I noticed them looking a bit fidgety. Why is it?
"What?"
"Uh sorry.... it really looks clean that it felt a bit hard to step inside...."
"Pfft. Don't worry about it! You're my guest now so just enter!"
With my words, they finally take off their shoes and step on the wooden floors of the entrance.
I led them to my living room, where I told them to wait. Though it seems like the president and vice president decided to help me as I got to the kitchen.
"Mmm.... what is this? It smells good!" Hayami exclaimed besides me.
"I made some cookies and cakes for us. Hope you like it!~"
When they opened the oven, I can hear them gasping in surprise. I felt somewhat amused at their reaction, before telling them that we should put it on the living room.
It took awhile before everything has been set up. I take a sit on one of the sofas, and the president and the vice president sits besides me. While Saki is already on the opposite cushy chair. Shiro is also on another, though she seems busy in her laptop now.
"""Thank you for the meal!~"""
After saying that, we begin partaking on the sweets I made.
"... So, why did you actually visit me? There is nothing to do in my house!"
Actually, I have some game consoles in my room. Well, it's Yumeko's originally but because I'm the one who owns this body now so those consoles are now mine too.
The president snaps, she seems immersed at tasting the cheesecakes I made. After wiping her mouth elegantly with her handkerchief, she turns to me.
"Actually, we originally plan to go shopping on the Zipangu Mall. But hearing that you can't come, I... felt a bit curious about what you're doing and decided we should come here to see."
"Eh? Why are you curious?" No really. I think I'm not that interesting?
"Well... I want to see how such a talented person like you lives. Maybe we can learn something about it?"
"Right! I want to see what you meant from writing and drawing stuff! Come on, show us Yume-chan!~" Saki suddenly pipes up besides us.
"Uh.... it's not really interesting."
"We still want to see how you do it!"
Hayami seems serious about it.
Well, I think it's fine. It's not like something had is going to happen if I just showed them my daily routine.
"Well, if you are fine with it." I said before recalling something. "Oh right, if you are getting bored, I have a lot of game consoles in my room. You can just go there and plug it on in this room." I told them.
After that, because they actually told me that it is fine, I booted up my computer and quickly take a sit on my chair. Leaning on my chair and making myself comfortable on my seat as I move the mouse to get to Sakka.
I felt the familiar presence of the president and Saki behind me. There is also Honomi who is also coming closer as I logged into my account.
"Eh....!?"
"What?" What is it? Why is the president sounding surprised?
"You're Hitoko-sensei?"
"Huh? You know my handle name?"
Her eyes lit up before leaning closer. Wait, your too close, president!
"I'm a big fan!"
"Huh?"
Wait, she is a big fan?
"You read on Sakka too?"
"Yes!"
Oh, so she is one of my readers.
"What is your handle name?"
"Uh... it's Kirikiri98."
Kirikiri98? Oh, so she's the one who only reviews with a single or a few words?
I'm surprised. To see one of the readers of the story in front of me.
"I can't believe it! So you're actually skilled at writing too!?"
"Huh? You read her stories?" I heard Saki asking with a tilt of her head.
"Of course! Didn't you know, Hitoko-sensei is one of the most promising newbie writers on Sakka! The ranking of her story is even getting near to the top 100s!"
Right. I also noticed that. Yesterday it's only at the rank 2,300 or something. Now it's getting closer to the rank 1,000. My story has just started last week, so this pace is actually incredible.
".... So, I will be writing now...."
"Ah, sorry! We won't disturb you then!"
It seems like the president finally relented on watching me. Though she is glancing on my side after she takes a sit on the sofa once more.
Actually, since I got the level 5 typing, I always write at least ten chapters everyday. Though I only post five chapters and storing the others so I can upload it later. Today I will be writing ten chapters again. I'm pretty fast when I'm writing so it is just right to do that. As the girl is typing on her computer, Saki can't help but become curious.
'Is it really possible to type that fast?'
She thinks it is a talent in of itself. The way her fingers blurred and the computer itself somehow recognizing each of her inputs is insane. It is also mesmerizing to hear that rhythmic clicks of her keyboard. The speed felt like it is a remix of some sorts.
She watches her writing her story. Looking a bit surprised as she saw that paragraphs upon paragraphs are just flowing so fast it felt like it is being printed on a bond paper.
They mostly think that Yumeko is just that good, though she is becoming a bit doubtful. When she tried to think about it carefully, even computer itself should have a delay between it's inputs. The way she types is a lot more faster than a person holding a key and letting that same letter appear on their text file.
"Hm?" She widened her eyes for a moment, as she felt her vision crossing out for a brief moment.
She felt somewhat dizzy, though she doesn't know why.
"... I think I'm just tired." She muttered before calling out to Yumeko. "Hey, Yume-chan! You said we can use your consoles right?"
"Yes. Feel free to play with it."
"Yippee! Come on girls! Let's look at her stash!"
Yumeko already gave her permission, so Saki thinks there is no need to be reserved. So she quickly asks where her room is, and Yumeko helpfully told them about it.
After that, she rushes to the second floor to look at her room. She heard the president exclaiming, and Honomi trying to apologize, though she thinks they are being too reserved. Yumeko already said they are free to do it.
Entering her room, she can see that the room actually looks neat. There are some posters of some popular games like the Dragon Brave, and the one with that super fast blue hedgehog she forgot the name of.
Quickly she found the boxes with a neatly arranged consoles within it. Her eyes lighting up on the first console she found and then carefully taking it out of it's container.
Just as she was doing that, Honomi and Hayami entered the room. They are looking at her with a bit of a frown. Though she has no time for that as she shows them the console.
"Look! Isn't this the latest model for PB2!" She said while showing them that smooth rectangular console.
".... Wow, she actually have something like that." Hayami exclaimed in shock.
"Right... I just noticed this awhile ago, but isn't her computer looks like that one video that is always promoted to be the most optimal setup for gaming?" Honomi stated with a curious expression.
".... I wonder who her family are?"
"Talking about family. Where are her parents?"
The two girls asks in wonder, though Saki doesn't really want to trouble herself with those thought. She only think of Yumeko as a new friend. That's what is important for her.
"Come on, help me bring this to the living room! It'll be bad if it slips in my hands!" She said.
The two girls also nodded on her words, and they helped her carry the console along with the controllers and the disks along with it.
They are just getting to the stairs when Saki felt suddenly lightheaded. Her steps wobbles for a brief moment, and it causes her foot to slip.
"Uwaaaa!"
Despite being careful, she still fell down the three steps on the stairs. Though it is low, the sound of crashing can be heard. Then the scream of the two girls behind her resounded.
"Ah... whu--?"
"What happened!? Are you okay?"
She saw the familiar purple hair and that emerald colored eyes gazing at her in worry. The girl younger than her by a year supporting her to stand up, and then leading her to a sofa to sit.
"I'm sorry! I'm sure she didn't mean it!" Her mind felt a bit distant, though she can still somewhat hear the president asking for forgiveness on her stead.
"It's fine.... though, why do you look all pale?"
"Huh...? We don't know...?"
She tries to look up and she can see that the two girls seems a bit paler than usual. She tilted her head at that, before shaking her head.
"Uh.... sorry, I think I'm really tired today..." Saki said, looking a bit sad.
"No, it's fine. There is no need to worry about it!" Yumeko said to them. "I'll take care of that. You should just sit here and take some rest."
After that, Yumeko insisted on taking care of the mess. Taking the PB2 and checking it out rather professionally. She seems to say something about it only having some complications, and something about her fixing it later. Though she can't hear it clearly.
Saki wonders why as she leaned her head on the sofa. She felt a bit dizzy suddenly. Though it's not so much as to give a headache. There is just this slight dizziness that causes her surroundings to sound distant or feel a bit lightheaded.
She noticed that Shiro seems to have stopped. Her head is also leaning on the side of the pillow on the sofa, looking mortified it seems. Her laptop close, even though she is looking at it.
'Hmm.... maybe I shouldn't have eaten that pudding on our refrigerator last night....' She wonders to herself.
In the end, they only stayed for a short while before they were forced to leave after all of them felt strangely tired or lightheaded within her house. As they take the buses back to their districts, their lightheadedness slowly dissipates. Though they didn't think much of it. Mostly wanting to go back to their home and take some rest.
Don't worry, I have a plan for this.... I just hope I managed to make it convincing....
If you want to support me, you can go to my kofi account here.
After that awkward farewell, I began to think about it carefully.
Seriously, what happened?
They look very energetic awhile ago before they entered my house, but when they entered they suddenly become lethargic. How did that happen?
[Your Ability "Radiation Resistance" has leveled up!]
..... You know what, I might be wrong altogether!
I thought that radiation resistance originated because I am very focused in front of my computer screen. There is low radiation in it, I think. It's only harmful for the eyes on prolonged exposure.
Though now I think it's actually not that. My Radiation Resistance is still moving slowly everytime I come within the living room. Why is it increasing slowly whenever I come here?
I haven't noticed that because I'm mostly focused on using my computer and looking at my other abilities. Though I should have put my focus on it at my earliest convenience!
I think something is hidden within this living room. It's wasn't really increasing when I'm on any part of my house other than the living room.
Should I break the flooring of my house? Maybe I should?
Having decided that, I started working on it. [You learned "Dismantle"]

Through various abilities that I have, I managed to skillfully take off the wooden flooring of my house without breaking them down. When I saw the experience for my Radiation Resistance trickling a bit faster than awhile ago after I got into a certain corner of my living room, I quickly take the shovel, pick, and hammer we have on our backyard and dig through it.
Beneath the floor is a solid concrete. I somehow know where to hit it without breaking it fully. Just make enough hits that I can create a hole to it.
I still need to make a large enough hole though so I used a lot of my strength. It might be why I learned that Power Smash skill. Because after learning that, I managed to slam the hammer I have to the pick, and cause the concrete to shatter below it. Demolition has also been learned after I did that.
I continue doing that while taking care not to hit any of the pipelines I have. Finally, I got deep enough that I reached the dirt part of my house. This is where I used my shovel to dig deeper. Getting the Digging ability along the way.
As I got deeper with my digging, my exp for Radiation Resistance is rising a lot more faster. Despite needing 1,000,000 EXP for it, it's flowing so fast that it seems like it will level up soon.
It took me awhile of digging down. What I'm doing is actually dangerous as I'm digging straight down instead of making it slanted. In my estimates, I might have dug 20 meters deeper.
"Hm?"
[You learned "Sense Danger"]
I felt something ominous when I got to a certain depth with my digging. Though, as I wanted to take care of it, even with this reluctant feeling within my heart, I still continue trying to dig down.

Whatever it is, this might be the one that's the cause for the increase of my Radiation Resistance for this past week. If that is so, then this is very dangerous. I have to pluck down whatever is causing this!
I narrowed my eyes, gritting my teeth as I take the fallen shovel and dig down for a bit more. Holding onto my breathe even as I wince at the stink and the slight burning feeling within my lungs as I continue digging.
The short time I tried digging while surrounded by these fumes felt like an eternity before I felt my shovel sink deeper than I am expecting it too. The dirt crumbles into it's weight, and gazing directly below. I can see a glowing fungus of some sorts with a flat mushroom head. There are at least three of it growing on that small damp opening within that darkness.
Mushrooms, and if I have to guess, they are radioactive in nature!

There is no need to think about it. I have to deal with it right now!
I tried to reach out to it, before feeling something burning within my body. It felt like there is something trying to reject within my body!
I'm such an idiot! I thought I can handle it because I have a high level resistance for radiation!
No, I have to continue! I can't just bury it in the ground and call it a day! It's already leaking out despite being buried deep underground!
What to do with it?
[Your Ability "Thought Acceleration" has leveled up!]
If it's radioactive, then it can be used as an energy. It is volatile enough to produce something this strong. I think it can be used to produce a lot of energy!
No! My mind is getting nowhere!
I need.... a miracle!
My eyes look at the AP that I have, and then use it without hesitation. Every skills can be upgraded with a single AP. So I decided to put it all on Radiation Resistance.
Though it seems like it's maximum level is ten, so I only managed to use one. Surprisingly, a prompt appears in front of my face.
[Do you want to upgrade "Radiation Resistance" into "Radiation Immunity"?]
There is no way I will decline. Of course I accept!
The feeling of discomfort suddenly vanishes after I maxed it out.
After that, I decided to take the mushroom. My idea might be stupid and ridiculous, but I don't want to leave it to chance and let some people be affected just because I leave it alone.
So I grabbed these mushrooms and pluck them out of the ground. Raising them up above me.
It tasted like dirt and something I can't understand but it is gross. It makes my body shudder just recalling it's sticky and gummy-like texture in my tongue.
Maybe because I ate it all, the smoke somehow dissipates slowly until the whole underground becomes clear of the fumes. There is only darkness, with the only source of light being the hole I made that is now above my head.
"..... Ah.... I did it...."
I thought it would be a simple thing like some abandoned nuclear bomb or a plutonium reserves that somehow existed below my house. Who would have thought it would be some extremely potent radioactive mushrooms?
What kind of mushroom it is, anyway!?
"Ah-re....?"
Why is my vision tilting? No, why am I facing the dirt now?

Ugh.... I felt so drowsy despite having resistances for it.... I have to... stay awake....
As stated on the premise, she is someone who is prone to bad decisions in life even if she thinks about it carefully.
It will sound good on the start, but it will later come biting her in the ass when the time comes.
So about this one, I actually just wanted the radiation resistance to come from the computer itself. I read on wiki that any digital device have low radiation which is not really harmful unless you stay stuck looking at it for longer hours.
Though someone from the comments kept saying that there is some nuclear or atomic bomb somewhere on her house because of the radiation resistance that she got and that got me thinking.... that is actually a good idea!
Though it might be mentioned later on, but this new fact will connect to the fact how Hitoko reincarnated on the body of Yumeko. I actually don't have any plans to make some reason how she got reincarnated to the body. Though thanks to that idea, I finally have some reason.
So thank you for that xD
By the way, those are magical radioactive mushrooms. So they are that potent.
I hope you like the chapter....
If you want to support me, you can go to my kofi account here.
Good choice! Her parents keeping a mini nuke and it's casing getting cracked which would have killed her predecessor and summoned her to use the granted superpower would have also been a solid choice if you didn't, but mystery radioactive mushrooms that she eats is such an amazing "what's the most right sounding but wrong decision I can make?"
this is actually nice because now she can work on her nuclear and fusion reactors from the inside.
Except, you know... all the irradiated stuff, and the cancer to her friends. Speaking of that, grind medicine to make cancer vaccination (yes, it's possible - if complex because of the thousands of cancers possible - as the mRNA tech is proving).
You know, I was confused for a second why Radiation and Mutation Resistance were not the same because Radiation causes the DNA in our body to break apart and produce faulty cells and that is called mutation. But I realize that Radiation Resistance is how good your body is at resisting external forces trying to change your body's DNA and Mutation Resistance is internal forces like your cells creating faulty DNA (a natural process) and DNA fixing cells being less effective as your age

Hm? Where am I....?
Just as I open my eyes and saw the claustrophobic walls of dirt around me, recent events quickly flows through my brain. That stink of fumes, the glowing mushrooms, the radiation....
"Crap, what time is it now!?"
I have to look at the time. Though I quickly noticed that I didn't have my phone with me.
".... Oh, I have to climb up to this.... huh..."
I was digging straight to the source of that radiation, so I didn't think what would I do after that.
...... Well, for now, I'll just climb. [You learned "Climbing"]
[You learned "Parkour"]
[Your Ability "Climbing" has leveled up!]
[Your Ability "Parkour" has leveled up!]
[Your Ability "Athleticism" has leveled up!]
"Ugh! Finally!"
Finally I managed to climbed all the way from down there. It seems like digging it in a cone-shaped as I dug down is a good idea. Well, there is no way I can put the dirt I dug somewhere if I didn't do that.
Though it is pretty steep. The cone-shaped hole is irregularly dug as I climbed up there. Sometimes it's perfectly vertical instead of the slightly slanted diagonal that I did. Likely because I filled it up with dirt as I dig down.
Almost three fourths of the living room is covered by the large hole. So it seems like I have to fill it up.
Before that, I have to see what time is it now.
Just when I am thinking about that, I heard my phone ringing. Quickly moving to that, I look at the time.
"..... Oh crap..."
It's afternoon now, and on the next day to booth! I quickly called school to call in sick. After that, I look through the series of text that I have.
It seems like along with my family, my club mates are also texting me since this morning. In case of my family, father told me that he was just done talking to the lead developer of Eijicon, and it seems like they got into an agreement on how much they will pay me. It seems like they will pay me 500 Yen for every image they commissioned for me.
That's pretty generous. So I am fine with that.
As for my club mates, they are asking how I am and if I am doing fine. It seems like they got worried after I didn't visit the club, and later learning that I didn't attend my class. I told them that I just felt feverish and is quickly recovering now.
Somehow, that ended with them deciding that they will visit me after school. I only have three hours left before to fix this whole mess before they came back.
So that forced me to brainstorm some ideas, and because I felt that I don't have enough time, I decided to use the shovel and fill the hole back with the dirt I have accumulated on my living room. Most of the dirt I dug has been put here, and others deeper are on the shallower parts of the cone-shaped hole.
It is only thanks to the weird instinct and knowledge I have that I learned how to solidify the foundation of these dirt as I dig down. It will be bad if it buried me while I was digging down.
I also know how I can quickly let these dirt fall and fill the hole of this cone-shaped hole. Using the weakness I found within these dirt that I flattened with my shovel, it easily comes crashing down like an avalanche below.
After that, I continue using the accumulated dirt on the shallower parts of the cone shaped hole, slowly filling up the depths until it turned into a rectangular hole that is five meters deep now. The only dirt remaining is on my living room and some on the floors of my kitchen.
I quickly took it all with my shovel and put them all evenly on these rectangular empty area on my living room. Making sure to flatten them with the back of my shovel. I repeated that.
[You learned "Architect"]
I don't know why I just got that ability. What's the difference between it and Engineering?
Though regardless of my confusion about how my powers categorizes things, I continue filling the remaining hollowed area of my floor until I managed to take all the dirt that accumulated on my living room.
[Your Ability "Digging" has leveled up!]
.... It wasn't enough....
I just recall that I also need concrete. I did destroy the concrete that acts as the solid foundation for the wooden flooring of my living room. It seems like I'm quick enough that I managed to do all of it within two hours. Though I think I don't have enough time to put a replacement for the concrete I destroyed. Even if I put another cement to cover it, it will take a long time before it dried out and become solid.
Now what should I do to hide it on their eyes....? The sound of the doorbell ringing resounded on my house, and quickly I moved to see who is it. Confirming that it is my friends from the club, I let them enter my home.
"Wow, what happened to your living room?" Saki is the first one to ask that after they got to the living room.
In my living room, there is a large rectangular section of it that are barricaded with a crude imitation of railings for construction. These one are made of wood only. I hope they don't recognize it, as I made sure to skin those wood so it doesn't resemble the wooden flooring of my floors.
"Remember yesterday when you slipped on the stairs?" Saki froze when she heard me say that. "Actually, I asked for the good hearted uncle I know that works on construction to check on it, and he said there is some problem with the construction of this living room. I'm grateful because he will be fixing that for free!~"
Right, if there is nothing I can do about it, then I should just lie. There is no way I can create something that will help me fix that area in such a short time!
They are just middle schoolers. I think they will easily believe that, right?
[You learned "Deception"]
So I just learned that.... Is this the first time I lied to someone? I wonder why I just learned it?
"Ah... is that so?"
She seems a bit uncomfortable talking about what happened yesterday. Well, she did break an expensive console that I own, so I think that is a bit insensitive of me bringing that up.
But sorry, I want you all to be distracted enough that you won't ask or be suspicious of what's in it!
"Anyway, are you all fine? You all look pale yesterday before you left?" I have to derail the topic right now.
As we can't take a sit anywhere on the living room, all of us go to my dining room where we took our seats. Unfortunately, I don't have any snacks prepared for them though it seems like they are fine with it. So whatever.
"We're fine. We're just tired yesterday." Hayami said simply before turning to me. "How about you? You said you felt feverish? Are you okay now?"
"No need to worry. I think I'm already fine an hour ago. I'll be going to class tomorrow." I said, trying to sound casual.
"That's good. I thought something bad happened to you...."
Hmm, I wonder why. I felt like they wanted to tell something to me but are hesitating. Is this my discernment ability at work? What do they want to say that they can't, I wonder?
Even if I'm feeling suspicious, I also need to take their minds off of that large section on my living room. So I decided to try and make small irrelevant talk to them. While making sure to reassure them that I am fine.
I am also a bit concerned about their exposure to that radiation, even if it's for a few hours of time. Though it seems like they are perfectly healthy. So I think I don't have to think about it. They are not pale anymore, and are not displaying any signs of being inflicted by radiation.
I somehow know the signs, likely due to my Scientific Knowledge, and they lack any of it. So it is fine.
It took an hour before they are finally satisfied and left me alone. Thankfully they didn't ask about it anymore and are satisfied with our talks.
Now I just have to fix my living room. The storage of my house somehow has three sacks of cement in it. So I'll have to use that to fill it up, and create a dehumidifier to quickly dry it out and make it usable. As for the flooring, I'll just order some planks and use it as replacement for it.
I have a lot of things I need to do! "Are you sure you won't tell her, Hayami-senpai?" Saki asked to the side.
Hayami shakes her head. "Well, I think it's fine. Maybe next time when I'm ready...." She said, looking a bit solemn.
"A shame..." They heard Shiro muttered to the side of them.
"Well.... I also thought she suddenly acquired powers.... though it seems like that was not the case." Honomi shakes her head after saying that with a sigh.
Hayami still recalls it. When she woke up this morning, she suddenly found out about this weird feeling within her. It somehow can be moved by her will so she tried releasing it. She is surprised when she releases a green orb of light in her hands.
She is surprised that she throws it on the pot of bonsai tree that she has on her room. Surprisingly, the dying bonsai tree suddenly bloomed to life. It also felt like she is now connected to it.
She tried using these weird energy she has within her on other things, and it seems like everything that her light orb touches suddenly grows some sort of plant or vines in it. Even on the water cup that she tried it on somehow acquired a weird water lily on top of it.
It felt like she drained her source of power after using it a lot on her house, and she quickly tried to hide it all before her brother finds out. She still felt amazed that she somehow got something that only exists on games she usually reads. Though having done that much, she has fully accepted that she got powers.
When she got to school this day, she suddenly felt a tug in her heart. Following this weird tugging feeling, she found Honomi who seems to be coming to her direction too.
It took awhile before they finally realized that this tugging feeling also affects the other two club members. Saki and Shiro seems to feel somewhat connected to them, just like them who are also like that.
Then they learned that they also have powers. Hayami seems to be capable of creating plants of some sorts. Honomi seems to understand animals right now and she can also talk to them, and reach a mutual understanding to each other. Saki seems to have acquired telepathic abilities, and she can create a connection of some sorts so the others can talk to each other through their mind, though she can't read minds. Then Shiro, as far as they can understand through her lacking explanation, acquired teleportation (they assumed).
Hayami can only frown as she didn't feel the same connection as she have to the other club mates on Yumeko. She thought she might have also acquired her powers after they heard that she hadn't attend the school, though it seems like it wasn't the case after seeing her.
"Well, it's uncool that she didn't get powers.... but I still think she is amazing!" Saki said with a grin. She is not using her powers currently as it seems to be mentally draining for her.
"Right. Even if she didn't have powers like us, she is still a member of our club! We shouldn't act differently on her!" Honomi said.
Shiro only nodded to their side with a thumbs up. Making Hayami chuckle softly before looking forward.
She don't know how they got these powers. They felt a bit suspicious about their sudden lethargy and lightheadedness yesterday, though she thinks it has nothing to do with Yumeko's house itself. They did visit some place on Yomi before they go to her house. So there might be something there.
Regardless, she thinks even with powers, they can still live normally. There is no need for them to advertise that they have powers.
'I mean, there is no way someone got powers like us, right?' Hayami thought.
As I said, magic radioactive mushrooms.
It has the properties of a radioactive material, but it's effects is esoteric that it might as well be called as bullshit.
Sorry for the delay on this chapter. I took a rest after getting my first injection for rabies bite. I got bitten by the four to five months old pup of my relative and while it didn't bleed, it still gave me a wound that looks like it did. I honestly don't know how my hand didn't bleed with that deep wound, but I am still paranoid enough that I go to the hospital to get my shot.
Even if it didn't hurt that much, I really don't like syringes. It just scares me....

Mysterious parents and suddenly powered friends! Hah, would the novel genre change from gamer slice-of-life to shonen?
Edit: Wait, it could also be running in parallel. But really, I don't even know what genre is the MC pov running on. Slice-of-life... isekai? Gamer fic but peaceful? Only know that the MC doing things and leveling makes me feels comfy, like on a slice-of-life.
Five days since then, life has returned back to normal.
After my Dad took care of the talks on Eijicon and the commission prices for it has been decided, I started making the arts based on their requests. The requests are pretty simple enough. They only wanted the details to be as high quality as possible. At least on the quality of those top tier visual novel CGs.
They gave me ten written drafts for the characters that I will be drawing, all of them being girls obviously (as it is a Gacha Game). Whoever wrote them is pretty good as I can easily imagine how they look like. I only need to add my artistic flair on it. It seems like I need to draw at least three versions of each character. One needs to be a bit plain, the other must look a bit detailed, and the other must look like they are a premium version of themselves.
I just got these drafts yesterday, and it seems like I can submit the finished product anytime until May 30. They told me that I can even upload it earlier if I want, as it would be better so they can check it and also add for some changes before the deadline.
As I have a lot of time, I decided to draw something I like on Piciv for once, and then draw the commission they gave me once on a daily basis. So this will take me a month before I am done with these commissions.
I think that's a reasonable timeframe for a solo artist like me?
School goes on normally. Lessons goes on and it seems like we will have a test next month. Physical education on this week seems to be swimming, which gave me the Swimming ability and I managed to upgrade some of my abilities too.
As for my club activities, the others seems a lot more eager at developing their games. Well, Shiro seems a lot more distracted at something, but the others are more active on completing the game. Both the president and the vice president seems to be adding new contents on the game, while Saki is a lot more focused on editing a lot of public domain sound effects to create a new BGM.
This whole week they are mostly creating new content, so there is nothing for me to fix. They said it wasn't ready yet, and they will ask me if there is some serious issues with the next patch of the game.
I don't know why but I always felt like they are hiding something from me. Whenever I look at them, it felt like they somehow know what each other are thinking, and they are deliberately clamming their mouth shut after we talk about certain topics. Topics like the mysterious increase of flower pots in our club room, or the fact that there are a mysterious amount of birds staying just outside the window of our club.
Shiro is a lot more mysterious than them. I always suddenly felt her presence instantly appearing besides me. She also just vanish whenever I wasn't looking. Did she learn how to kill her presence or something?
I really don't know what's with them today. Just that they seem to be acting differently. Or maybe this is how they usually act, and I am just seeing it now? I did just know them for two weeks!
Other than that, my usual routine of writing and drawing whenever I came back home is still ongoing. I fixed the flooring on the living room for a single day, and then continued my work on creating the hardware after that.
Buying those planks costs me some, though thankfully I can somewhat cook decently now.
Skills from level five are a lot more harder to level up. It seems like I will need a few weeks or a month before I raised their level. The EXP needed for them is a million after all.
And now it is Saturday once more. My schedule for today is simple. I will be going out and meet up with my club mates.
Yesterday, they managed to convince me to come along with them on a trip. It seems like they wanted to try the new arcade that opened on the Seventh Nether District. It's on the northwest side of this city, which meant I need to take a bus to get there.
They like games themselves too, and it seems like Saki and Honomi prefers arcade games. I just learned about it, along with Hayami who specifically prefers IRPG (Izanese Role Playing Game) and Shiro who mostly prefers sandbox games.
I also wanted to look at the arcade of this world. Though there is a nearby one that's just between my way to the school and my house, it's small that my friends will feel like they haven't even gone on a trip if we go there. So we are going to that new arcade that seems to be larger.
I already uploaded the latest chapters on my web novel, and I have drawn my daily quote of digital art and uploaded it on Piciv. I can just focus on resuming the production of the CPU tomorrow.
For now, I'll have fun with my friends! The Seventh Nether District is pretty large. There are a lot of shops that deals with books, electronics, appliances, and dresses. It is very crowded in here, and the roads are well maintained, along with the marbled paths to the side which is pretty wide. There is even a fountain leading to the large commercial area where the newly established arcade is located.
On the fountain, I see the familiar shades of orange, black, white, and blonde hair. All of them seems to be wearing a different set of clothes. Well it is still pretty near on the outfit they wore when they come to my house, just that the colors seems to have changed like they did a version of a color palette for a character.
"Oh! I see her!"
I heard Saki exclaiming on the distance and saw her waving at me. The others looks at me and smiled. Shiro only gazes at me, before returning her gaze on her phone. I can see the four of them drinking some sort of cold sweetened drink. Likely a milkshake?
Getting near them, they immediately crowded around me.
"Sorry, did you wait long?"
"No, we just got here." Hayami replied to me with a smile. "Come on, the arcade has already opened awhile ago. We wanted to see what kind of games are in there!"
All of them seems strangely enthusiastic at it. Well, they like games too so that is understandable.
"Sure. Let's go!"
With my words, all of them nodded happily before we walked together to the building that looks like a dome. The words "Cyber Field" with neon lights that is thankfully not lit right now hung above the dome-like structure.
There are a lot of people crowding the glass doors that led inside. There is a security guard who is checking the people first before they entered. The process is quick enough that we didn't have to wait before we entered after a brief cursory check. Well, it's only Hayami and Honomi who brought a bag with them.
It is really wide now that I entered inside. This is the first time I got inside the arcade of this world. The air inside is pretty cold though, and the interiors is filled with neon lights, or just some other colorful lights around.
"Wow! It looks so amazing!~" Honomi and Saki seems especially excited as they entered the arcade. Their eyes are practically shining as they look around.
"It's very crowded here, so we should stick together." Hayami is being the responsible one among us.
Shiro is just staring. Or maybe she is just deep in thought? I sometimes can't get how she thinks!
Cyber Field seems to use 100 Yen as a token, which is extremely expensive for middle schoolers like us. Already I can see the girls looking at the stated costs in horror.
".... We actually need 100 Yen?"
"Well, this is a foreign franchise, so that might be why....?"
Saki and Honomi muttered amongst themselves. They seem strangely depressed.
"... I only brought five hundred with me." Hayami stated on the side.
"Two hundred for me...." Saki said next.
"I think I have four hundred here...." Honomi said next.
Shiro on the side shakes her head as she made an X sign on her fingers.
"How about you. Did you bring any, Yume-chan?"
It seems like I'm the only one who brought a lot here. Well, it was from my family. Though there is that time I got eight hundred yen in total from Mizunosurugi. I got my credit card on my pocket, and it contains my whole allowance for this month.
Though there is no need to use my budget for this month. I've already deducted a lot of my budget by buying those replacement wooden flooring and those junks. So I'll only use the money I got through my commission. It is the money I earned, so I think I can use it for my leisure.
"I have eight hundred yen that I can use."
"Wow, I think that's enough to play a lot!" Saki said with a weird sort of enthusiasm. "Then let's go! I can spare at least a hundred to play one game here!" Saki said.
"What should we play first?" I'm pretty curious what they wanted to do.
"Rhythm game!" Saki, obviously.
"Shooter game!" Surprisingly it is Honomi who said this.
"I think those platformer games...." That was Hayami.
"Fighting game...." I am also surprised about what Shiro said.
"... Wait, I thought you don't have any money, Shiro-senpai?" I look at the white haired girl.
She only stares at me. There is a strange pressure in her as she looks at me.
"Come on, don't be like that!" A strange noise escapes Shiro's lips as the president smack her on the back of her head. "Sorry, she is always like this whenever she wants something!" Hayami bowed to me.
"Huh.... no, it's fine. I think I'll treat her." I shrugged it off.
It would be bad if one of the club members didn't have fun with our trip. We are here to have fun after all.
"Though you have to pay me back later, Senpai." Of course, there is no way I'll just let her go. It's money after all!
Shiro nodded quickly at me while I heard Hayami sighing besides her as she shakes her head.
"Okay, who is first?" So we explored for a bit until we found what Saki is looking for. Surprisingly, this arcade has a nice arrangement of their games here. We got to the rhythm zone of this arcade, and it seems like just besides the rhythm zone is also the fighting game boxes arrayed on the side. So Saki and Shiro can play what they like.
I already gave Shiro two 100 Yen coins so she can play. It seems like she picks a game titled "Arena Fighters" which I think is the equivalent of Street Fighters in this world. They even have Ryu and Ken lookalikes within that game when I saw Shiro starting the game.
Saki on the other hand is going to play Taiko no Tatsujin. I'm surprised it retains it's name even though this is an alternate world. Seeing her grinning confidently as she grips the taiko sticks is a bit amazing. It seems like she actually knows what she is doing.
The three of us watches from behind. We only have a limited amount of money to play, so we didn't want to waste it on our fancy. Well, that was true to Honomi and Hayami, though actually for me, I think I can spare a single token to play.
"Right, I'll also try that fighting game." I specifically chose the box where a person from the opposite side is playing too.
Each of the box are paired to each other, and they are facing the opposite sides. It means they are connected. Which means PVP is possible. I take a brief look and I saw some fighting the players facing the other side of their arcade box.
Honomi seems curious as she followed me there. It's two boxes besides where Shiro is playing, so it's just near. Hayami decided to stay so she can still lookout for Saki who seems to have become focused on playing her first song on that game. She might missed us as there are a lot of people around so she wants to stay near Saki.
The title of the fighting game is different. It seems to be the equivalent of King of Fighters in this world. It's title being the Queen of Fighters. Though I am unsure because after putting my coin and getting to the character selection screen, I noticed the lack of male characters in it.
What the hell, world? Why are there only female characters in this game? Is it because it is called the Queen of Fighters?
"Wait, are you sure you want to fight someone? It will be a waste if you lose!" Honomi seems to have finally noticed that someone is playing on the other side of this arcade box.
"It's fine. I'm just having fun."
If this is the equivalent of King of Fighters in this world, then I might have an edge here. As I said, I'm quite a dedicated otaku in my past life. I have 200+ hours on playing this game, even the newer ones. I main Kyo, Terry, and Kula, though I also know how to use the other characters competently.
I'm not pro level, but I think I'm good enough that I can beat average arcade goers like this person on the other side. I just have to find out who is who on this game, and then use my old knowledge from my past life.
It took me awhile until I found the Kula lookalike in the game. I cringed slightly seeing the name. It is Kula alright, just her surname is Emerald instead of Diamond.
Why, world? Why?
The person on the other side picks a very large woman. I don't know who she is even resembling as on my past life. I just have to fight blind here.
As the game started, the player quickly rushes towards me. Though with my ingrained instinct, I did the usual inputs to counter it quickly and punish her with a large health draining combo. The opponent seems incapable of doing any rolls or counters, so I easily managed to beat them on the first round.
[You learned "Fighting Game Mastery"]
Second one is also easy as I'm the one who initiated. Rushing with ice slides and somehow the opponent being fooled by my simple upper strike twice then lower strike once. It seems like I'm playing with a noob, as I easily beat them and get the win.
How? Is it because I won on a fighting game? Is there some sort of criteria?
Having thought of that, my eyes narrowed as the next challenger appeared. I'm still feeling shocked about the level up prompt that I almost lost my time and just pick someone random. At least she looks like Terry, if heavily fashionable and busty now (I felt myself cringing just seeing that).
As expected, the character's moveset is very familiar to me. It only takes a bit of finagling before I managed to master her in no time. Then I beat up the second challenger without giving him a chance to fight back.
[You acquired 240 EXP]
[You leveled up!]
[You leveled up!]
[You have reached Level 10. You can choose one of the perks available!]
You will acquire 10 AP instead of 5 every time you level up!
I think XP is the best investment. Doubling AP per level or leveling twice as fast are almost identical, but getting levels faster reduces the time till the next perk.
I think XP is the best investment. Doubling AP per level or leveling twice as fast are almost identical, but getting levels faster reduces the time till the next perk.
EXP to the next level seems to be 10*level, which means that the total EXP required to get to a certain level scales quadratically with the level. So in the long run you need to take the square root of the EXP multiplier to get the equivalent AP multiplier. So AP Hogger is superior in terms of AP.
Hmm, why did she level up so fast indeed. Is it because the system is finally implementing the skills she already had now that she's using them?
...Or is it because she's battling other people?
And since the other two perks have been covered, I think minimap would be quite nice. I wonder if it would let Yumeko finaly cotton onto the fact that one of her friends is literally teleporting around?
So let me think about this carefully. It seems like reaching level 10 will give me a perk. These perks that I can choose are all neat. AP Hogger and EXP Hogger doubles the amount of what I can get on their respective effects. As for Minimap, it literally unlocks a new function for my powers.
I'm surprised. There is other functions for my power other than learning and grinding them. I can buy abilities with my AP though abilities that looks really powerful like telekinesis costs a lot. At least 1,000 AP to buy a level 1 of it.
It is a good thing I can upgrade every abilities with 1 AP.
But going back to what I am talking about, even though I have this kind of ability, it felt like it is lacking somewhat. It looks like those UI panels you usually see on MMO, so there should be something with it. Like an Inventory, a Minimap, or even a Quest function.
I don't know if it will have other functions that I can unlock other than the Minimap, but I have to lookout for it on the next ten levels I reached.
For now, I have to think what should I take.
All of it sounds very useful. With Minimap, if it functions the same as I'm thinking about, it will be very useful for me. I can track every people around me, and it will be easier to find my way on my location. It might even have a very convenient function of automatically filling out every areas that I have explored and I can look into it anytime I want.
Though EXP Hogger is useful too. The EXP needed to level up is getting larger and larger. If I don't have any level cap, then on higher levels it will take me a longer time just to level up once when the time comes.
Both of those are really useful. Though I can't take my eyes off on AP Hogger. If I take it now, I'll get the benefit of getting 10 AP everytime I level up. If I take either of the two that wasn't AP Hogger, then I might not have a chance to pick it anymore, or I will have to wait for the next ten levels to choose it.
I don't know. My powers didn't have a user manual or something!
In the end, I decided to choose the AP Hogger. While at the same time, defeating the AIs I am fighting on the arcade.
[You learned "Parallel Thought"]
It will be suspicious if I gaze into emptiness while Honomi is watching me, so I have to continue playing. Also, everything is still in motion so I obviously have to move and play the game even if I am busy thinking about what perk to choose.
[In this current stage, your AP will increase by 10 everytime you level up!]
After that helpful prompt, I am finally free of playing once more without distraction. Though my mind is still analyzing about my observations on this game.
It seems like defeating an AI won't give me an EXP. I actually need to defeat someone to get it. Which means I need a challenger.
There are a lot of games here where I can compete to others? I wonder just how much I can stretch the definition of "Competition" based on the system? Did I find a reliable way of farming EXP?
I have to find it out myself! After finishing the arcade mode without getting any challengers, I quickly moved to play another fighting game where a player is also playing to challenge them. The game seems pretty similar to Tekken in my past life, though this one is titled the "Martial Fist".
I am not that good at this kind of fighting game. In my past life, I barely got 10 hours of total gameplay in it, and I haven't completed all the Tekken games. So I can't display the same skills that I have awhile ago with the Tekken version of this world.
It is why this might be thanks to my Fighting Game Mastery ability as I managed to somehow snuck a win against my opponent.

And I got to Level 12. Instead of 10 AP, I got a total of 20 AP with that two level ups!
I was hoping for someone to challenge me again, though sadly no one did after I defeated that player. So I was forced to finish the whole arcade stage on this Martial Fist game before standing up and changing places to find another competitive game.
Along the way, I can feel the familiar presence of my friends following besides me.
"What happened?"
"I don't know. Yumeko-chan just suddenly goes around and sitting on VS arcades. I wonder why?"
After hearing our sound designer's question and our vice president's response to it, I felt the presence of our president getting closer to me and feeling someone poking at my shoulder.
"Yumeko-chan, are you looking for competitive games!?"
I just smiled at our president's question. "Well, I wanted to test my skills at the other games. It's been so long since I played something!" I said, before I noticed a certain arcade on my periphery.
It was actually Tetris! Not just that, it is an arcade version of Tetris VS!
There are a lot of people crowding there, and it seems like a lot wanted to play and compete to each other. So I decided to line up too.
"Wow... you're actually going to compete on that game? There are a lot of pro players there!" Hayami whispered behind me.
"It's fine. I also want to have fun too!" I said with a smirk.
Just like she said, there are a lot of professional players playing there. Currently we are watching the side of the player who is incredibly quick at setting up their sides before filling it in a combo. Based on the bar that I am seeing besides them that are getting filled up each time they filled a row, it might be their way of throwing trash rows on the opposing side.
I actually don't know. I only know the game through watching it from YouTube. I haven't played Tetris even in my past life!
"You'll just waste your token. Those players are monstrous!" Saki bluntly stated to me.
Right, what if I lose on the game? Won't I get any EXP?
"You know what, if you want to play competitive games, you should just play a MOBA game. I think MOBA is getting popular these days." Hayami suggested to the side.
"MOBA? There is a Massively Online Battle Arena Game in this world!?"
"In this world....?" Oops, my tongue slipped. Thankfully Hayami just shook her head before continuing. "Well, it is the main meaning of that game, though you should know what I meant from it if you are a Gamer. I'm talking about Mythical Offense!"
"Mythical Offense?" First time hearing that.
"It's full name is Mythical Offense: Battle Arena or MOBA in short. It's a pretty popular map on the game Highcraft! I'm sure you will find plenty of competition there, and you won't have to waste a hundred yen just to fight someone!" Saki helpfully explained to me.
Highcraft.... Ah! I recall now!
Through Yumeko's original memories, I managed to remember about that game. Yumeko seems to barely know about the game because it is actually popular, and Yumeko seems to have some weird elitist mindset with her that rejects any "Mainstream Games" trending on the world. She have this weird mindset that mainstream games are just a normie game, and not something a real otaku should play.
That's a lot of arrogance coming from a first year middle schooler.
Well, I am Yumeko now, and while I'm just a casual player, I have a love/hate relationship on MOBA in general. I have played Defense of the Ancients and Onmyouji Arena in my past life so I know the basic rules of MOBA.
It seems like Highcraft is the equivalent of Warcraft in this world, and MOBA should be the equivalent of DOTA.
Now that I think about it, I haven't played an online competitive game since I reincarnated in this world. Maybe I should try and see if I can get an EXP through that?
"We should just enjoy ourselves!" Saki stated besides me, and I can only nod on her words.
Right, we are here to enjoy things, not to go full maniac on challenging of every players in this arcade. It will be a waste of money and none of us wouldn't have fun.
"I think you have a point. Then let's go and try that arcade there!"
Having decided to stop trying to challenge someone, finally the five of us are having fun once more. We decided to go to a two player light shooter arcade box called the Mansion of the Corpses. Saki decided to watch while the four of us played on both boxes. These two boxes seems to have different versions of Mansion of the Corpses.
Shiro and Hayami are going to play on the Mansion of the Corpses I arcade box, while me and Honomi goes on the Mansion of the Corpses II. Taking the gun controller for it, I pointed it on the screen before feeling satisfied with it's light weight.
After we put our hundred yen there, we started the game. Saki is cheering behind us as we played while we tried to make ourselves used to the operation of the game. Reloads are just pointing the gun away from the screen, and then shooting is just pulling the trigger of this gun controller.
The accuracy of this gun seems great. So I can confidently point the muzzle on the screen and actually hit whoever I am pointing it. Unlike the one I recall in my past life which has a really horrible aim recognition on it's screen.

It seems like I won't get any EXP despite trying to compete to Honomi. I tried to tell her playfully to compete who can get the most zombie kills, though it seems like after being defeated due to being hit by the enemies on the screen, there is no EXP prompt showing on my face. That's also the case for Hayami and Shiro. Despite trying to compete who can get farther on their game, no EXP prompt occurs.
So trying to compete who can kill the most enemies in the game or last longer on the game won't give me EXP. Then what is the criteria? Is it only for facing someone head-on?

I managed to finish the game by my lonesome while only getting hit twice in my whole game. Getting it to level two seems to have helped me a lot as I managed to quickly react to surprise zombie jumpscares or ridiculously small weakpoints from some particular bosses.
The others seems surprised about it, though I only told them that it was just me being addicted to games. Surprisingly, they believed me!
After that, we moved around for a moment and then I watch Hayami and Honomi play an arcade game called Iron Snail. It surprisingly looks like Metal Slug, which is a game I like since I was young on my past life and has played literally every versions of it.
I didn't play. I was feeling a bit excited to go back home and try playing that Mythical Offense game on my home online to see if I will try get EXP after defeating some of the players there.
It didn't take long before we are finally satisfied and decided to go somewhere. It seems like this large dome structure of this Cyber Field wasn't only dominated with different kinds of arcade games. Just on the side near the entrance, there is a wide open entrance on it that leads to the food court. Seems like they also let other franchise in so the people going inside can eat too.
"Uh...." Hayami seems to want to say something.
Well I can understand. Looking at the listed prices on those food courts, all of them are pretty expensive. They are beyond the budget range of middle schoolers.
"It's fine. I'll treat you all. It would be a shame if we quickly left without eating something, Hayami-senpai."
"Eh! You don't have to...."
"It's fine. I just want to treat you all!"
For giving me that idea about playing MOBA, and also for letting me discover that I can actually get EXP through playing games.
"Come on, just order anything. It will be my treat!"
"Well... if you insist..." Hayami seems reluctant.
"That's cool! I want spinach pizza!" Saki seems to have overheard as she got closer to me and pointed to one of the food courts there.
"Sure."
I can see that they are accepting payment through card, so I'll just let them order. I still have enough spare to treat my seniors.
With my insistence, the others also ordered their own. It only costs me a total of 3,000 Yen before we take our fill.
Me, Hayami, and Honomi took proper meals. The one with rice, fried shrimp, fresh salad, flavored soy sauce, and a small cup of sweet. Saki got her pizza for a single person, and then Shiro just ordered burger and fries.
"Okay, thanks for the meal."
I noticed Hayami almost choking when I was done eating.
"What!? So fast!? We've just started eating!?"
Well, there is only a small amount of food in our order despite it being that expensive. Also, I can actually cook better than this.
"Well.... it is a small amount..."
Oh right, it has become a normal thing for me, but my eating speed is actually abnormal huh....
"Don't tell me... are you...." Hayami gasped besides me.
Though Saki quickly finished it to her. "You're a big eater, Yume-chan!"
Just call me a glutton, there is no need to say it in a roundabout way!
"Well, if you are that fast at eating, maybe you can join that eating competition."
"Eating competition?" Okay, that piqued my interest.
"Right, there are billboards of that just outside here. You can see one of those outside the windows here."
With Hayami's words, I look out on the window and saw the large poster of it just propped to the side of the wall of a building just near this arcade. It is a bit far, but with my Sharp Vision I can easily see it.
"Next week."
I read it. It seems like it will happen on May, on the Fifth Nether District which is the center of this city. It seems like it is a city-wide event, and there is a prize money of 200,000 Yen to whoever will win in it.
I am a bit interested at the prize money, but there is something more important than that.
Competition! And I'll have to defeat the contestants from it!
I don't know if it will be recognized by my system, but if it is, then I will get a lot of EXP if I join there!
Moreso if there are a lot of contestants in it!
"Right, I will join that then!" I said, and they seem a bit surprised. Though I heard Saki chuckling.
"Wow, I didn't thought you have a competitive streak!"
"Am I? I think I am capable of it, so I wanted to see how I fare against others when it comes to eating!"
After that, they finally decided to finish their meals while making some small talk. Then we left the arcade and wander around for a moment. Looking at the dress shops and some interesting shops that sells computer parts, before we finally parted ways to get back to our home.
I can't wait to go back home and find out if I can actually get EXP through beating people online! 'I had fun...'
Shiro mused to herself as she sinks, and appears once more on another location. Her senses felt vast, ever changing as the light of the sun creates a shade on the buildings and trees, and the crowds walks around.
She is now within an alley. Her crimson eyes glancing around her before trying to sink within the darkness. Though she stops as she heard a soft whimper deep within the dark alleyways. With her expanded senses within this darkness, she tried to hear clearly.
The sound of a female crying, and a grunt of some man. Her eyes narrowed as she sinks partially into the darkness, and then half of her body appearing near those feelings. Her eyes narrowed into disgust as she saw the scene of a woman being cornered to a corner by a man covered from head to toe with different outfit like glasses, cap, and a scarf to hide his whole face. Something is glinting on his hand and it seems to be pointed very near on the woman.
A small frown appears on her lips, before she stretches her arm to the beyond.
'Within this darkness, I own the space. Prepare yourself, villain, for I shall carve the essence of despair deep within your very bones!'
"Disappear."
With a simple word uttered, the man who seems to be trying to do something to the woman yelped, before he suddenly screams. Though that scream is brief as he was pulled to the ground, his body vanishing in an instant before the woman could squeak.
She recalls about the map of this district, and then quickly expanded her senses. Before peeking through them, her eyes lighting up after finding that claustrophobic room isolated with the bars. It is dark enough that she can feel her hold coming true, and then with a flex of her will, the man fall screaming on the floor, as if he was spitted out by the corners of the ceiling.
With a job well done, the white haired girl nodded to herself before sinking into the darkness once more. Moving through the shades that moves along with crowds. Appearing on places where the light is absent.
'I, the hero of darkness, shall save the damsel in distress! Villains tremble in fear, for I shall scour the land and sky, seeking out your filthy kind and exacting justice for the weak!' Her eyes lit up after that thought. 'Mhm! Ideas are coming to me! I want to draw it now!'
Feeling very satisfied of herself, she continues moving through the darkness.
Sorry again, I got hooked on some fanfiction yesterday, and spent my whole day reading that....
Hope you like this chapter!~
If you want to support me, you can go to my kofi account here.
Thank-you for the chapter! Honestly I kinda like the protagonist being a bit of a ditz XD All those hyper focus gamer and that mentality are kinda boring. She actually seems like what a normal person with no real pressure could do. Of course some time she's extra ditzy, but that's the charm of this character. Each time it happens it just affirm what kind of person she is, a fun and a bit silly person!
Only one question, what fanfic where you reading? I need some more fix now that the chapter is finish
I'm reading Rezero fanfics currently, mostly the ones where the characters from Rezero reacts to Subaru's life when he got transported to their world. I just read the whole six chapters of "Viewing his Trials" on the Rezero section on FFnet, and it's really great. I got hooked xD
