So I had some thoughts last Night. I'm pretty sure I know how the setup is supposed to work.
We've got Test Subjects, Independant Variables, and a Yandere- three of the classic four elements of experiments. This indicates, but does not confirm, the existence of a Control Group.
However, let's look at the wincons.
IV
probably has a classic scum wincon, but details don't matter. What's relevant is they all seem to have killing roles.
Test Subjects want everyone else dead.
Yandere, very plausibly, wants ItzNarcotic to stay alive. Yandere
probably wins when nobody other than their obsession is alive; this fits theme and gives an actual game end condition. Killing IVs is their top priority.
Control Group, supposedly, wants the killing to stop. Killing IVs is their top priority.
Now, this all makes the existence of Control Group much more plausible.
We have Test Subjects want people dead, we have Yandere wants a
town killing role specifically to stay alive, and we have Control Group who wants that
exact town role dead. There is some compelling symmetry here- it sets up a scenario where Town is aligned with Yandere, mostly, and Town is aligned with Control Group, mostly, but Yandere and Control Group are explicitly enemies.
That said, the existence of Control Group does not mean
Nictis is Control Group, and Nictis has been coming off as rather Scummy. I am increasingly skeptical of their claim.
@OneStopChopShop ,
@RaptorusMaximus , if either of you is Control Group, claiming now will assure the win.
