With the talk of Edith being a timestop maid one day I wonder if there is a Chronomancer class as a subset of wizard or something. Focus on effects like slowing the enemy, speeding up allies, "echo" attacks, sending the character back a second to avoid attacks, lower casting times for spells as a passive, etc. There's a lot of cool stuff you can do with time effects other than just stopping it.

"Unyielding Mountain": There will be no half-measures or compromises when you make your decisions. Your will is dominating and unyielding. You go all the way, or not at all. Once you take a decision, you will stand by it even if the Gods themselves disagree. Such is a Will to defy Heaven. Your place amongst the Gods is assured and irrefutable, none can deny it. Eitri, born into the prestigious and declining line of Brokkr and Eitri/Sindri of legend and descended from the Sons of Ivaldi, was a talented blacksmith from a young age. He grew up hearing stories of the Dwarven 'golden age' where the Gods themselves came to his ancestors to forge their Divine weapons and accessories. But, he grew disillusioned with the shadowy plains of Svartalfheim and wished to follow in his ancestors footsteps. He wished to forge for a god.

He'd heard the rumours that the realms were being visited by Gods and Goddesses so he went searching, hoping to find one that would he would be happy to forge for for the rest of his life. Sadly he was unable to find one in his home realm and he had to expand his search. He decided to explore Midgard first, home of the mostly mortal races and 'playground' of the Gods and through a string of bad luck he was captured by a God and his followers. Dirty Goblins.

It was then that he was rescued by another god, StormDoom, and after watching her fight the enemy God and his followers he decided he would follow her and be her personal blacksmith, finally fulfilling his ambition to forge tools for a God just like his ancestors of old.

Are you a mind-reader that can reach across the internet? That's exactly the name of the possible classes Edith can get which I thought of a few days ago.
Although, that didn't stop you from making a typo. It is Chronomancer.

Just curious if this backstory would work or if I'd need to change it?

Ulrad was correct, the Chronomacer is a fighter variant that hits time until it stops moving :V:V:V.
Okay, that was a good one. Got a good laugh out of me once I understood the joke. :V

It's perfect. No need to change it. If you want, you can even choose his appearance.

If someone can turn this into a NPC then I'd be ecstatic. I'd do it myself, but I'm about as creative as EA.

So what do we get as a first level Monk?
I'll show you two abilities at once when you reach level 2. You'll have two APs to either unlock both of them or unlock and improve one of them.
Mostly doing this to not clutter too much with that kind of votes. This is like the second update and adding a third one isn't on my list to-do things.
It gives me a bit of time to prepare other things too.

Being always there on time is a natural Maid/Butler skill!

Item Idea:

Spell Eater Necklace
Bound in silver and runes it may be, but you can still feel the huger radiating from this Wolf-Headed necklace.

Three times per day, when activated this magical necklace's maw opens wide to satisfy its hunger, absorbing all the mana used in a hostle (Teir 6 or lower) spell against you and converting it to health.

I'm down for the man eating rabbit thing that some people wanna get later on. It seems like a cool item.

Don't think I really want it to be a magical girl though or whatever. Just sick of them lately, feels like every other quest on SV is infested with them and I'm not really that big fan of them to begin with.

Thats just personal preference though.

I like the idea of it being a harmless animal or stuffed you that turns into some monstrous form and wrecks shop.

Edit - though if having a bunch of npcs spreads us to thin then id prefer her to focus on her own development for now. I don't think we necesarily need one at this point in time when we seem to be doing okay on our own and we have Edith and our friends to rely on.

Interlude II
Incoming!
I wanted to make a rather short interlude and then move on to YGGDRASIL but it kind of went out of hand as you can see. Apologies about that.
We'll get back to things right up next time.

You don't have to think much about it. It is rather easy and that Shawn fella is really making an attractive offer.

"Okay, sure. Why not?" you respond and Mr. Shawn's smile widens.

You smirk predatorily in response "When do we start?" you inquire and he answers almost immediately, barely leaving you the time to finish your sentence.

"Now." he makes a sign for you to follow him and you do.

Soon, you're out of the mall and into a rather expensive car who's going through the city pretty quickly. You're not sure if it is an expensive car either, it could be just a lambda one for all you know but the seats are certainly comfortable and it is airtight so you don't have to wear your breathing masks inside which is rather wonderful. You're pretty sure, your face will start to crunch up with how much you wear that mask every day for years now.

It doesn't take long for the car to reach its destination as it enters some sort of big garage, you notice even fancier and more expansive cars inside. For the first time in your life, you rode on a car, it was certainly awesome a luxury rather. You wonder if this new job would allow you to afford things like this, perhaps even be the one who's driving it? You're pretty sure you'll have a lot of fun driving it around. It seems like the perfect way to get an adrenaline rush outside of the virtual world. Mr. Shawn soon rushes you out of the car, you get into a rather fancy elevator with the most annoying music you've ever heard. You're glad to get out of that glorified cage it as soon as possible.

"Okay, we're here. Girls," several women are waiting for you as soon as you exit the elevator.

"Take Miss Natalia to have a bath she needs one," Mr. Shawn said with a smirk.

That asshole! You don't have the luxury to own a bath so you just scrub the filth off you in the crappy shower and then use whatever cheap shower gel you can find in the market every three days or so, you can't afford any more than that.

"And then to the dressing room for her outfit," he says.

You don't even have the time to bark back a reply to Shawn before two of the girls took a hold of both of your arms and dragged you to where the shoot would be. Why the hurry though? This is rather disorientating. An hour or so later, after taking the most relaxing bath you ever had in your life and then the most horrible dress up session in your entire life. You exit the dressing room and Mr. Shawn is waiting for you right in front of the door with that smug smile on his face. You feel like punching him for no reason what so ever but you stomp down that urge unless you want to lose that job before even getting it.

"The USMC doesn't actually make their marines wear this kind of armour, do they?" You ask incredulously.

Mr. Shawn chuckles and you have to stomp down another stronger urge to punch him again, "Of course not," Mr. Shawn said with the same smug smile, "we're making a commercial so we have to appeal to youngsters to join up. They won't join up just to meet beauties like you but it does offer the right push to actually make them go to the local recruiting centre."

You scowl unhappily, you walk up to him quickly and intrude on his personal space aggressively with a provocative finger pressing down on his chest. You don't tower over him as you aren't that tall but you're pressing your finger down on him hard, which does make him take a step back in fear.

He raises his hands placatingly, you could even see a sweat drop on his face, "Let's make something clear. I'm not a whore or stripper who's gonna jiggle her ass on TV or paper. Are we clear?"

He nods pretty damn quickly, "Crystal clear, don't worry Miss Natalia, there would be nothing explicit in your work. We do have standards and without your direct approval, we could get sued for things like that so I'll rather not get into trouble. This is just a bit of a warm-up and if you feel uncomfortable wearing that suit, you could just go back home and refuse our job proposal. Don't worry at least to make it up for you, we'll cover this day for you," he says reassuringly and you manage to calm down. Well, you're supposed to be a model, as long as it is kept to this level and nothing more, you guess you could be okay with it.

Mr. Shawn waits patiently, although even you can tell he's pretty nervous as to what your answer would be. You settle for not saying anything and just nodding. He visibly relaxes as he starts walking to... somewhere else. The corridors of this building is rather confusing.

"Follow me, please. We'll go to the studio where we're gonna start. Hopefully, we're not too late or the director will start shouting again till one of us burst our eardrums," he mumbles the last part under his breath but your ears catch it easily enough.

You find yourself in a studio, several pieces of heavy equipment of which you know nothing about. You can at least recognize the cameras. You're rather surprised to see an actual USMC officer but that's kind of expected since this is a commercial for them. The officer seems to be displeased as he points at one of those embarrassing suits of 'armor' with a thunderous look on his face. A heavy-set man is reassuring him, that must be the director? You're really not knowledgeable about how things work here beyond the stereotypes you see on the web.

Before you get to actually start shooting the commercial, you're run through several practices of what you're supposed to be doing which is directly supervised by the USMC officer. He makes you go through several stances, at the ready, properly saluting, crouching down, lifting the fake weapon and so on. The embarrassment of wearing this suit was washed away in the practice that lasted several hours from the morning to the afternoon. The USMC officer is stood directly backed by the heavy-set man and your assumption of him being the director was correct. He showcases his famous loud voice and deep knowledge of the English vocabulary particularly insults. One of the actresses actually breaks down crying after the director directly started yelling in her face and she was sent away. You're pretty sure he'll make a good Drill Instructor if he wasn't a random guy directing commercials. You're hardly fazed by his yelling even when it's you who's getting reprimanded. As soon as he turns his back to you, you stick out your tongue childishly and make silly faces at him. Just to relieve the stress of this day and it makes the girls beside you giggle albeit quietly unless they wanted another round of yelling.

Finally, to end the day, The Director decided to make a test shoot of the commercial. You see the main actors, a rather tall white man with heavy musculature and a bald head and a woman, with tanned skin of probably Hispanic in origins with developed musculature that only further accentuate her overall appearance. They're both wearing real USMC uniforms. You don't have much time to get to inspect them since the part that you're going to play is only at the end, where you'll appear for only a few seconds.

"You asked, what is our policy? I can say: That It is to wage war, by air, land, and sea! With all our might and with all the strength that God can give us; to wage war against monstrous tyrannies, never surpassed in the dark, all responsible for a lamentable catalog of human crime." the male lead says fervently with a rather strong and deep voice.

The Hispanic woman is the one to speak up after with as much fervor. If you didn't know this already, you wouldn't be able to tell they were simply acting. "That is our policy! We fight for freedom and unity. Join us today! Many will hear the calling but few would earn the title. We are the few, the proud. The Marines!" she finishes up.

They both then yell, "Oorah!"

Then everything pauses for a few seconds before you hear the Director yells 'Cut!', the USMC officer seems to be satisfied as he claps approvingly. The lead actors after a few seconds of small talk with the director leave the scene soon after. Damn, they didn't even spend thirty minutes here! Your thoughts are drawn as to how all of the United States would see you in this embarrassing suit. You just can't get it out of your mind it's embarrassing.

A few hours later, you do get to see the end result. You see both the main actors as teenagers in a high school who suddenly start running with an upbeat tune playing in the background, they go from teenagers to young adults in a marine boot camp to fully fledged marines standing at the ready in their uniforms where they make their speech at the end. It only lasted a few seconds and you could see yourself in the background there with the other side actors standing there like saluting statues.

You're directed out of the way and you see Mr. Shawn waiting for you with a towel in one hand and with a big smile on his face. You ignore it as you tiredly take the towel to wipe the sweat off you. This is was a tiring day and a rather drastic departure from your usual routine.

"So, your thoughts?" he inquires

You just shrug, "I don't know," You reply honestly.

Mr. Shawn simply nods as if he was expecting an answer like that as he leads you out of the room to the dressing room, for you to change in and prepare before going on stage. Mr. Shawn walks in with you and sits in a nearby chair.

He pulls out a paper, "So this is the contract. If you sign it, you'll be officially in the business, Miss Natalia," he says jovially.

His smile fades away soon enough as he speaks yet again, "I have to be honest with you. I'm rather new in the business myself as a manager. You're the first model I'll ever work with and I'm rather nervous as to how you will answer. If you refuse, I'll probably put back in the last rows again as I wait for another opportunity to take on someone under my wing." he explains, he tries to hide it but you can tell he's looking at you hoping that you'll accept. You don't answer as you silently pick up the contract and read it.

-You will be officially a Model and an Actress.
-Mr. Shawn will manage your daily work and on what type of magazines or commercials you'll appear in.
-You have the right to refuse any of the proposed jobs offered by Mr. Shawn and even pick your own even if it is strongly discouraged. The manager more than likely knows better than you.
-You will be making 60 USD/hour but you will only receive the final payment at the end of the month.
-You will work on an average of 8 hours per day.

What do you do?

[] Sign the contract
[] Refuse to sign the contract.
[] Write-in(Suggestions, questions?)

OOC vote:
This is about Karen's daily real life and how I should represent it in the quest. I'll rather not investigate so much time writing updates like these if my players are not interested and would rather prefer only YGGDRASIL.

[] Keep it as it is with mentions of Karen's daily life and some interludes from time to time.
[] Make Karen's real-life more regular in the quest.
[] Remove Karen's real-life completely and keep only some bare mentions as to what is happening. We're here for YGGDRASIL.

I'm voting to sign it. Yggdrasil is both a Timesink and a P2W game, and I care more about Karen's personal life than how much time she plays a video game.
