The Jedi Crusader - A Star Wars Quest (Post-KOTOR AU)

You'd think producing a sith lord and accompanying major conflict twice in as many generations would make them realize they need to change on its own, not simply as a political maneuver. At least they don't appear to be doing anything stupid.

the council reflects and considers change.
Zez-Kai Ell must be delighted

Also, the reference to Vanon reminded me, does the exile exists in this quest? Not as with her Canon story, but does she exist as part of the mandalorian wars? And is she still in exile or has returned to republic space, as far as Luka knows

To be fair, they did make changes after the Great Sith War to avoid a repeat of Exar Kun and they did work. At the very least, the rise of Darth Revan was different to the rise of Exar Kun and not something the Jedi High Council could have avoided as it was the result of something they had no idea existed and couldn't have predicted. Like Revan and his Revanchists falling to the Dark Side was the result of Darth Vitiate mindbreaking Revan and Alec and the Jedi couldn't have prevent that.

Yes. She is a member of the Revanite Jedi and sits on their version of the High Council. She also has a commission as a general in the Republic military and Revan uses her as one of his top fixers. That said, my knowledge of her character comes from reading the wiki and watching YouTube clips of Kotor II.

Well, I played KOTOR 2 and I still drive most of my knowledge of her character from the wiki. I simply couldn't understand the game's explanations
Also, the wiki said the Revanchists fell to the dark side as a result of the dark side energy of Malachor 5 wound, which Revan later used to corrupt captured jedi too on the Trayus academy

He only fell to Vitiate after he went to the unknown regions, after the game plot in Canon

It's been a while, but wasn't the wound created from Revan destroying any who couldn't be turned along with what was left of the Mandalorians? Pretty sure he was already dark by then. It was also probably retconned somewhat by TOR.

It was sort of retconned. In Kotor 2, you got one version of events of Revan and Alek falling to the Dark Side at Malachor V, but the only source of that is HK-47 or secondary sources who weren't there in person from what I can find so I would put that as unreliable narrator. Meta-wise, that was canon until The Old Republic MMO/the Revan novel where they soft-retconned it by replacing the canon that was previously hinted at with more directly given canon.

For this quest, I am having it so that Revan and Alec became Darth Revan and Darth Malak after travelling to the Unknown Regions to confront the Sith Emperor. Malachor V stuff like Trayus Academy would have happened after his Fall at Dromund Kaas.

The fact that he got turned to the Dark Side against his will alongside most of his forces is the reason that I am having the Revan of this quest not rush off like he did in canon. Since it clearly didn't go well at all last time, he isn't going to just try the same thing again except completely on his lonesome.

I just Rereached that part with Bao Dur conversation now, in a new playthrough. Revan's main fleet was stuck outside the system, and Meetra's forces were alone and going to be decimated by the mandalorian. Seeing no hope of getting Revan's help in time, Meetra activated the mass shadow generator, killing all troops and destroying most ships. The trauma of sensing so many death through the force, including her soldiers, from up close, caused Meetra to subconsciously sever herself from the force as a defensive reaction, while all the other jedi died, save for Nihilus, who somehow survived by draining the force of all around him, and became a force of hunger, as the masters thought Meetra herself did(and she did not, she regrew her connection to the force through facing that trauma and others and putting them behind her). The wound turned Malachor to a lifeless planet extremely strong in the dark side

"I am Luka Shan, Jedi Padawan of the Jedi Order," you reply, deactivating your stealth field, "I was investigating the ship while I waited for my master to arrive when you showed up. Since you seemed to have the situation handled, I stayed hidden and let you deal with the matter whilst I followed you in case you stopped having the matter handled."

"Shan," repeats the Jedi in an emotionless voice as he gives you a hard look, "You are one of the heretics on the Telos."

"Heresy is a relative thing," you retort, sensing no actual ill or hostile intent from the Jedi even if he is certainly wary of you, "And currently, I am not on Telos, but Nar Shaddaa. I also still do not know who you are. I presume you are one of the Council Jedi?"

"I am Jedi Knight Vokru Gendi," replies the Zakrak, "I am here on a mission from the Jedi High Council."

"To free these slaves or investigate the rumours of the Dark Jedi operating on Nar Shaddaa?" you inquire, taking a guess that he is for the same reason as you and Mum or he is going to be interested in why you and Mum are here.

"The latter," admits the other Jedi after a moment of eying you up, "You as well?"

"My master and I have already confirm that there is some truth to the rumours," you tell him, "There is at least one Sith operating on Nar Shaddaa and they have some cooperation with the Exchange though to what degree is still unknown. We got lucky and found a Sith holocron being transported by members of the Exchange on the same passenger ship that brought my master and I here. Ensuring that the holocron is safely dealt with is what my master is currently busy doing. Or at least they were. Given the time frame, she may be on her way here now."

"That is useful to know," replies Knight Vokru with a slight frown, "I've also been able to confirm that there is a Sith operating here on Nar Shaddaa with the assistance of the Exchange. I haven't personally encountered here yet, but I have found Exchange records regarding their involvement with one Darth Malice."

"Darth Malice," you repeat, "That is the first I heard of that name. So are they an imminent problem or should we discuss what to do with all of the people slaves here."

"We should free them of course," states Knight Vokru as if it was the most obvious thing in the galaxy.

Which to be fair, it was pretty obvious. However, the choice here wasn't so much about whether or not to free the slaves, but how to go about doing so.

"So what is your plan?" you inquire, "Just let them out and tell them to make it on Nar Shaddaa on their own?"

"Of course not," protests Knight Vokru, "I am planning to give them some credits taken from the Exchange."

"While that isn't the worst idea, I do not feel we are properly rescuing to them if we just abandon to the mercies of the Nar Shaddaa," you say, "Mainly because Nar Shaddaa has no mercy to it."

"Do you have a better idea?" asks Knight Vokru.

"Wait for my master to arrive," you reply, "She is a Jedi Master and has plenty of experience upon being quite well-connected."

"I suppose it cannot hurt," agrees Knight Vokru though you can sense his reluctance.

It doesn't take long for Mum to arrive and despite Vokru's wariness when it comes to Revanite 'heretics' like yourself, he does come around to listen to Mum despite some slight scorn when he finds out that your master is also your mother.

You and Vokru meet with Mum in the bridge of the slaver ship with Mum bringing Kira along with her. Your new smuggler pal seems a little an intimidated by all of the Jedi and you can't help, but feel sorry for her, especially when her reaction is get subservient around the rest of you.

"We should deliver them to Lantillies using this ship," says Mum, drawing startled looks from the rest of you, "I am aware that it is unpleasant to keep them aboard any longer, but Lantillies is only a single jump away and has a substantial Republic garrison there. I can make a call to the local commander let them know about the ship and to get ready to dealt with the former slaves. We got programs set up to help newly freed slaves start a new life and they will be far better off than if we just let them go on Nar Shaddaa."

"It sounds good and I believe you have the authority thanks to your Revan's connections," says Knight Vokru, "But what about Darth Malice? We cannot just leave Nar Shaddaa without dealing with her."

"That is true," agrees Mum, "I was hoping that Kira here would be willing to pilot the ship."

"Uh, sure," replies Kira, startled to suddenly be the centre of attention as all three Jedi turn to her, "I can pilot the ship fine. Just one little problem. I'm a smuggler and that is kinda of illegal, which may be an issue if I am flying to a military base."

"You don't have a record and you will be working for me, a Jedi General of the Galactic Republic," answers Mum, "You will be treated with respect as a contractor for the Jedi Order and the Republic military."

"Oh, that is good and means that there is no problems," says Kira, "Not me for anyway."

"Still it might be a good idea to send someone with you," says Mum before turning her attention to you, "Luka, would you like to accompany Kira to Lantillies?"

What does Luka do?

So like reasonable people, you and the Jedi Knight had a nice civil discussion. Now you got a plan of action and Luka/the players get a bit of a choice in how the story progresses. Options seem pretty self-explanatory as you either continue to hunt the Sith on Nar Shaddaa or you help Kira deliver the slaves to freedom on Lantillies.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.

For the moment, I believe that with two trained Jedi Knights in Nar Shaddaa the Sith should be easy to deal with. Meanwhile, the slaves have a much harder path for them, so I think that we should go and free them.

Wow, this is more one sided that I thought it would be. I guess people don't want to help fight a Sith. Then again I'm one of those people and I just want to see our adventures with the now former slaves.

I mean, we will almost surely do little against him by the sheer fact that there are other two highly trained Jedi Knights with us.

Not much of a room to do anything.

The slaves are mostly an 'anything can happen' adventure without supervision.

It's not that I don't want to help fight a Sith and more that this is a thing that needs doing. Kira is a smuggler with no official connection to the Republic or their military and Luka is the daughter of its Supreme Commander and a Jedi in training. She can smooth out any wrinkles and make sure these people are taken care of. In the grand scheme of things it's probably a drop in the bucket compared to the number of slaves on Nar Shadaa alone at this very moment, but it's still important. It will suck if we miss out on the big Sith fight but it is what it is.

I bet things will happen on Lantilles too, and also, I don't want to disobey Bastila on this. By the way, from what I understood Luka is already a jedi, but ranked padawan, not knight. This still means she is a full jedi however

Please note that getting to Lantillies is a single hyperspace jump. There isn't going to be any trouble on the actual trip barring being intercepted on the way out from Nar Shaddaa or there being trouble at Lantillies when you arrive there.
