As you look about the stores, you decide to go for items that will aid you in the upcoming task. The first item of the day is armour of course as no one wants to go into battle without some protection if they can help it. With that in mind, you go looking for a basic combat suit as while it provides minimal protection, it is cheap and undoubtedly a significant degree better than no armour. It only takes you a few minutes to find a combat suit in your size and a changing room to put it on.

The next item of choice is an energy shield. A common item these days thanks to how effective it is against blasters and lightsabers, it is easy enough to buy a basic version. With a few minutes of protection for each of its five charges, it would let you take a few blaster shots or lightsaber hits, making good in an emergency.

From there, you focus on items to help you with scouting the slave ship and you start off by going for a stealth field generator belt. While far from perfect, it is relatively cheap and makes sneaking about much easier. It will certainly be useful in the next couple of hours and you are confident that there will be future occasions where it will also come in handy.

After getting your new belt and making sure it works, you look for some new headwear. You have a bit of internal debate on whether or not to get a breath mask or one of those Bothan sensory visors, but in the end, you settle for the latter. You figure that it could help out with infiltration because that is what Bothans are famous for. That and other spy stuff.

Beyond your new gear, you get some extra items that will hopefully go unused. You grab a computer spike and security spike in case you come up against some security that you really need to hack. The other items are a couple of medpacs, one the standard version that gets used to treated minor injuries while the other is the antidote kit that is geared out to deal with every known poison and probably a few unknown ones as well.

And then to top off your shopping trip, you decide to get yourself your own datapad. No more relying on Temple datapads or whatever terminal you got access to at the time, you will have free access to the HoloNet so long as you got a signal. And in this day and age, it is hard to lose a HoloNet signal. At least anywhere civilised. You wouldn't be surprised if you lost a connection in an uninhabited system or somewhere in the Unknown Regions.

The only issue was the price. Your purchases would use pretty much all of the money that Dad gave you before you left on the Nova Wayfinder with Mum. Not necessarily something you need to avoid, but far from ideal. Fortunately, you inherited Dad's way with people and as a charming young lady, it wasn't that hard to talk your way into getting some discounts and you managed to save yourself a solid thirty credits.

With about sixty credits left between your pockets and your bank account, you go with Kira to get a rental. The Ithorian businessman is more than happy to let a couple of young ladies rent a swoop bike for the day, provided that one of you is willing to pay up twenty credits and some form of extracting further payment in the unfortunate event that you don't return the swoop bike. While Kira is more skittish on the matter, you are more than happy to agree to those terms.

***

"Why are you piloting again?" you ask from your current position behind Kira as you hold on to her by wrapping your arms around her as the Togruta woman pilots your rented swoop bike, "I am the one who is renting it."

"I know where we are going and I make for a terrible back seat driver," replies Kira, clearly having too much fun as the two of you fly though the busy skies of Nar Shaddaa.

"Hmph," you huff, but you let the matter drop as pettiness is unbecoming of a Jedi and the issue is already resolved.

"So what is it like being a Jedi?" inquires Kira.

"Good," you answer, "At least it was an Initiate. I got a strong connection to the Force, the Order makes sure to look after my needs and I got a good education. I've only been a Padawan for less than a week now and I've been involved in both more and less than action than I was expecting."

"How does that work?" asks Kira.

"Today I got involved in stopping the Exchange gunning down some protesters while yesterday I helped stopped the Exchange delivering a Sith artefact to a Dark Jedi here on Nar Shaddaa," you reply, "I didn't expect to have to face such dangerous threats right away, but when I did see them, they had less action than I was expecting them to. I just talked down the Exchange thugs earlier while Mum and I just broke into the quarters and stole the holocron before leaving the ship without them realising. So, what is it like being a smuggler?"

"I'm not much of a smuggler to be honest," replies Kira with a shrug, "I just took up the job because I couldn't exactly get a legal one and piracy was a bit too violent for me. Didn't feel joining a gang either so I turned to smuggling. I don't do too much, just keeping my ship running and-ah, I probably shouldn't tell a Jedi about that."

"Probably not," you agree, "Not that I am going to arrest you or anything, Jedi will often arrest criminals. We don't always do that depending on the circumstances, but we only really let criminals go when there are bigger problems to deal with."

"Like this slave ship?" inquires Kira.

"Like the slave ship," you confirm.

***

Th slave ship in question turns out to be a decent sized one. The transport is easily large enough to fit a few hundred people on board and docked on a landing pad, you can tell that there are a few guards strolling about outside and you are confident that there will be more of them inside the ship as well.

"The Impulse Deliverer," says Kira with a slight growl to her voice, "Kriffing slavers. Too many of them for me to take on my own."

What does Luka do?
[] She takes the safe approach and watches from afar until either something happens or Bastila gets here.
[] She makes use of her new stealth field generator and attempts to scouts out the landing pad.
[] She makes use of her new stealth field generator and attempts to sneak about the ship itself.
[] Write-in.

Having done your shopping, you are onto the main part of this subplot. There isn't much going on and the vote is pretty simple as you choosing how much risk you want to take versus how much information you want to get. You can attempt to take greater risk in order to get more greater information, though no option is entirely safe or does any option get you all of the details.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.

As safe as waiting for Bastilla would be, I think that at least having some idea of our objective would be extremely helpful for us and Bastilla before sneaking in.

free access to the HoloNet so long as you got a single
signal. This is at the part about our buying a Datapad

it is hard to lose a HoloNet single.
In the same paragraph

but when I did say them
have them. It is when PC was talking about what had just happened on the ship to Kira.

I just talk down the Exchange thugs earlier
talked, same paragraph as the one directly above this one.

No matter what we do I'm expecting the dice to go horribly wrong.

I assume this won't entirely drain the stealth field generator for a later infiltration?

I assume this won't entirely drain the stealth field generator for a later infiltration?

It won't. The downside of stealth field generators isn't the charge, but rapid movements disrupting the effective meaning that things like running or fighting break the stealth field. The stealth it provides also isn't perfect and it is still possible for you to be detected while it is active.

Revan on Ord Mantell - Part 2
Revan on Ord Mantell
When he arrived back in the capital of Ord Mantell, Revan found a hot mess. While he was away from Worlport, the enemy had made another move here even if he couldn't tell just what that move was. Calling up the local HoloNet, Revan found out that the Worlport had suffered multiple attacks by mercenaries. The local law enforcement had their headquarters get partially levelled by a company of mercenaries with civilian landspeeders that had been upgraded with heavy weaponry while another band of mercenaries had attempted to storm Government Circle, the district that Ord Mantell's government operates out of. Fortunately Dustil Onasi had been meeting one of the local leaders at the time and your fellow Jedi had led a successful defence of Ord Mantell's government district even if there was some fatalities and plenty of damage.

Other governmental place got hit as well. A few government agencies had buildings get hit by a squad here and there across the city while a couple companies of mercenaries with a trio of starfighters attempted to take on the Worlport's military base. Fortunately General Savid was on top of things with flak cannons taking out enemy aircraft whilst the Republic soldiers on duty were able to repel the attackers before they even breached the walls. The Republic military has come a long way since the last war and as the Supreme Commander of the Galactic Republic, Revan is pleased to say that peace has made the military stronger not weaker.

Regardless, the Sith agent has made their move and while he hasn't got all of the details yet, Revan suspects it is a desperate one. The mercenary assault wasn't likely to succeed, but even if it had, Ord Mantell's government would have been thrown into chaos. Even then, said chaos would have been temporary and Revan is certain that his foe is attempting to salvage something of their original mission. Given the overall failure of the attempt, Revan isn't sure what his opponent will do, but he is confident that it will be bad.

Hiding into an empty alley, Revan calls General Savid.

"General Savid," says Revan as General Savid answers almost instantly, "What's the current situation? I am aware of the bombings and I am more interested in how we are dealing with them."

"Under control Supreme Commander," replies the general, "I have mobilised all of my forces and have squads going to reinforce the hit sites. My special forces are heading to the areas that still have hostiles. I have all of my starfighter squadrons ready to intercept and shoot down any ships attempting to leave the planet."

"Do you expect any backlash from that?" inquires Revan as he reaches out with the Force.

"Before the attacks, certainly, but not now," answers General Savid with letting out a dry chuckle, "These attacks have certainly validated our choices. I was fielding complaints about causing unnecessary paranoia and not doing my job when I declared a planetary blockade. Now our foresight is being praised and nobody is questioning us apart from a few moof-milkers. Given the current mess, the Central Authority is talking about extending the blockade to declaring martial law as well."

"Is that going to cause any issues?" asks Revan.

"Only that I don't know how to go about catching the person responsible for all of these attacks," admits General Savid, "I can deal with more attacks and stop anyone escaping the planet, but I'm afraid that nailing the scum behind all of this is going to be up to-what?"

"General Savid?" says Revan as the man stops talking and he himself feels something wrong.

"Commander Revan, we got a situation," says General Savid, "A Dark Jedi is attacking the Central Authority. I've already lost a squad and a minister has been killed-"

"I will go and help," interrupts Revan before ending the call as he breaks into a run.

While it was rather rude of him to cut of the general like that, Revan doubts that General Savid will hold any ire towards him as he runs through the unusually empty streets. The Jedi Master isn't surprised that so few people are about the ordinary bustling streets of Ord Mantell's capital as with multiple mercenary attacks and open firing throughout the city, most people will be staying at home. Given that it makes moving through the streets much easier for him, Revan can't complain even he would rather not see one of the Republic's worlds in this state.

Government Circle is a warzone when Revan reaches it, The wealthy and showy district is fill of debris and corpses from attacking mercenaries, government guards and civilian bystanders while not all of the buildings are still intact. Revan doesn't need the Force to tell him that there is a force of darkness here.

As he reaches the square before Government House, Revan finds the Sith responsible for all of this as Dustil duels a human man in black armour with a double-bladed red lightsaber as a squad of Republic soldiers in the red and yellow armour that is signature of the Galactic Republic's military. While Dustil is holding is down for now, it only takes Revan a couple of seconds to figure out that he is being driven back and there is no question about the Republic soldiers being no match for this highly capable Sith.

"Hey!" shouts Revan even as he calls upon the Force to yank the Sith towards himself and away from Dustil.

The surprise doesn't last long and the Sith recovers quickly enough to land on his feet, but Revan has successfully gotten his foe's attention.

"This is your last chance to surrender," Revan tells his opponent, doing the Jedi thing and offering one last chance for a peaceful resolution even as he knows that the Sith will reject it.

"You!" growls the Sith as he turns his full attention on the Jedi Master, "You have ruined everything! I will make you pay! For the Empire!"

And with that, the battle is joined. Revan doesn't wait for the Sith to make the first jump as the Jedi Guardian leaps right at his foe even as the Sith begins to charge him. The other man barely begins his lightsaber up in time to block the cyan blade of Revan's own weapon. He stabs with his bronze blade, but the Sith is able to parry so Revan slash from angle before slashing from another. The Sith blocks both strikes with his own blade, but the effort has driven him back and Revan counts that as a success for him as it will certainly antagonise this Sith further.

Revan feels his foe drawing on the power of the Dark Side as the Sith snarls. A moment later, he fires off a burst of Force Lightning at Revan, who simply blocks it with his cyan lightsaber before throwing his bronze one at the Sith. Barely realising how trivial Revan is dealing with his latest move, the Sith barely halts his Force Lighting in time to block the thrown lightsaber with his own red blade. Revan charges at the Sith agent even as his bronze lightsaber returns to his hand and the melee battle starts up again.

Revan slashes and hacks away at his foe and while the Sith is certainly skilled, Revan is just better. Eventually, he pierces the Sith's defences with a stab of his lightsaber only to find that his opponent has an active energy shield.

"Really?" asks Revan in barely irritated voice as another of his attacks is parried, "What sort of Sith relies upon an energy shield?"

"What sort of Jedi wears armour?" demands the Sith in return as he makes his first lightsaber attack of the duel.

"The kind that becomes Supreme Commander of the Galactic Republic," replies Revan as he casually blocks the red lightsaber.

"Die you Banther-kriffer!" snarls Sith as he scrambles backwards.

"I'll have you know that I only engage in that sort of activity with my wife," retorts Revan as he catches his foe on the shoulder, only to have his lightsaber be blocked by the energy shield again.

"I said die!" roars the Sith as he reaches out with his hand and before he can move, Revan feels a force, no, the Force begin to choke him as the Dark Side begins to cut off his air supply.

"No," states Revan simply and he sends the Sith flying backwards with a Force Push, "Grenades!"

While a few of the watching Republic soldiers are startled by his sudden and unexpected command, but the majority of them are sharp enough on the uptake for there to be several frag grenades to be thrown at the Sith as he rises back to his feet. The resulting explosion engulfs the Sith, briefly obscuring him from view as he howls with pain. Yet his presence in the Force is not extinguished so Revan leaps in with both of his lightsabers and plunges the blades into the man's chest as he staggers forth.

"Die..." mutters the Sith in a coarse voice even as he makes one last attempt to slay Revan with Force Lightning.

It only lasts for a moment and Revan simply ignores it. The majority of it is blocked by his armour and what remains of it is nothing to sort of pain that Revan is used to. He doesn't feel a thing, but knowing that there might be some injury left by it, he uses the Force to heal himself anyway. And speaking of healing...

"Where are the wounded?" calls Revan as he deactivates his lightsabers and walks away from the dead Sith.

***

And here is the second part of Revan on Ord Mantell as the Sith agent makes his move and Revan deals with him. I probably could have done so more, especially since Dustil got such a little screen time, but what I wrote in the first part didn't really allow for that. Ord Mantell was mostly done and this was just wrapping it up. I will try to flesh out this universe a bit more.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.
