The Jedi Crusader - A Star Wars Quest (Post-KOTOR AU)

Right but if we have access to it why isn't every option being built with cortosis weave where it can be. This arm is going to be top of the line custom to us, not something off the self at a backwater hospital.
I know none of the other options are going to be entirely cortosis but there's going to definitely be spots in those arms surface that having a few inches of it on our arm instead of something else will be useful. Minus the arm that looks like our real one.

OOC, it is for balance reasons as you between either having the ultra-tough arm that can stand up to a lightsaber or punch though an energy barrier or you can choose an arm that does something else.
IC, the cortosis weave prothesis is armoured to a degree, which takes up space that can't be used for other things and cortosis does weird things to energy so having an mechanical arm built out of it can muck up other things you put into it such an inbuilt blaster or energy shield, a bunch of high-tech gadgets or advanced technology that makes it life-like.

The second bit isn't a problem for blades or armour plates because you got what is effectively a single solid item so it won't much any internal parts, but if you build a blaster or a computer out of cortosis or suing a cortosis weave, expected the cortosis to muck up the rest of the machine.

[X] A nigh-indestructible prosthetic made using a cortosis weave.

Considering how tough this galaxy is on limbs, I feel like going the safe route.

[X] A defensive prosthetic that has an inbuilt energy shield with effectively infinite uses.

Maybe we can upgrade it at some point to be like Captain America's shield and throw it around with the force?

No. You can potentially upgrade and customise the energy shield, but the energy shield will be the sort of energy shield that you use in KOTOR and KOTOR II except with a cooldown between infinite uses instead of expiring after five uses.

Coruscant: New Hand
[X] A nigh-indestructible prosthetic made using a cortosis weave.

"So what does the new arm do?" asks Kira as she drives the airspeeder through the skies of Coruscant as the two of you make your way back to the Red Banner, "And does it feel?"

"It feels much better," you reply as you flex your shiny black right hand, "Not quite as good as new since the Force doesn't flow though machinery like it does with flesh and blood, but it is definitely better than the one I got on Kaliton and I shouldn't lose it as easily as I did with my original hand."

"Cortosis is the lightsaber proof material, right?" inquires Kira.

"Yeah, the main one alongside phrik and beskar," you answer, "The former is rare compared to both cortosis and beskar while beskar is more commonly known as Mandalorian Iron and only the Mandalorians know how to smelt and forge it properly. Given how lightsabers are our primary weapon, the counters to it is something that all Jedi get taught. At least amongst just Revanites. I don't know if the Council Jedi teach their own about it."

"Makes sense," says Kira, "Spekaing of which, you aren't going to get any trouble from them right? That Zabrak on Nar Shaddaa was cool, but isn't Coruscant like the main base for the Council Jedi?"

"It's complicated," you answer before giving a more detailed explanation, "The main Jedi Temple is here on Coruscant, but both branches of the Jedi Order have enclaves spread throughout the galaxy. Our branch is based off of Telos, but the Temple there is not as big the one here on Coruscant and Dad has been trying to spread enclaves across the galaxy for a variety of reasons such as spreading our influence, securing important sites and making sure that the Jedi keep in touch with the common people of the Galaxy. So we got enclaves at Ilum, Ossus and Dantooine while talks for more enclaves at Onderon and Manaan are in the works."

"And what about the Council Jedi?" inquires Kira.

"While they are mostly concentrated on Coruscant, the Jedi Order did have a fair few enclaves, praxeums and academies across the galaxy," you continue to explain, "Some got lost and Dad claimed them for our branch, but the High Council retains control over H'ratth, Teya, Truuine and maybe some other places that I can't remember off the top of my head. I suppose I should get back how this relates to our presence on Coruscant?"

"I would appreciate it," says Kira.

"Right," you say as you think over the complicated relationship between the Revanite Jedi, the Council Jedi, the Senate and the Galactic Republic, "The Council Jedi are based here on Coruscant, but so is the Senate and the Galactic Republic. We got more ties to the latter two so Revanite Jedi come and go pretty much as they please because we are usually doing stuff for the Senate or other parts of the Republic so the High Council can't make a fuss without getting into a political fight they would rather avoid. We got sometime of an unofficial understanding. They don't cause problems for us on Coruscant and we do the same for them."

"And that is why Bastila is speaking with those senators right?"

"Senators, admirals and generals," you correct, "Mum doesn't really like politics, but she is an important and influential figure so she takes advantage to improve her influence because we can use that influence to help people and get things done. Mum considers it a worthy sacrifice of her time and energy even if it is a different type of sacrifice to normal."

"What about you?"

"Mum and Dad have kept me and my siblings out of politics. Well, not Vaner, but that is because he has chosen to go into politics and he is even here on Coruscant."

"Could we go and meet him? I would like to meet your brother if neither of you mind."

"I'll think about it. We've only got so much time on Coruscant before we go on our next mission."

What does Luka get up to on Coruscant between now and her next mission? Pick three options.
[] [Act] She and Kira meet up with Vaner.
[] [Act] She and Kira hit the shops for personal gear.
[] [Act] She and Kira look into getting some upgrades for the Red Banner.
[] [Act] She makes a friend with a friendly and idealistic Senator.
[] [Act] She takes the time to learn a new Force power.
[] [Act] She gets called to meditate a disagreement.
[] [Act] She and Kira run into an old associate of the latter.
[] [Act] She joins Kira in learning more about computers and other electronic systems.
[] [Act] She joins Kira in learning how to maintain and fix machinery.
[] [Act] She joins Kira in learning to handle injured organics.
[] [Act] Write-in.

As Kira goes to grab a bite to eat from ship's stocks, you head to your bunk on the Red Banner. While you have taken to equipping your newer and superior silver lightsaber, you do still have your original yellow one thanks to Mum.

While it is nice to know that you have a spare lightsaber, you can't use both of them in your current style of fighting as you fight with only a single lightsaber. It seems like a waste, but do you really want to go to the effort of learning to duel wield two lightsabers at once?

Dad is a master of Jar'Kai, but many Jedi get by just fine with a single blade such as Masters Bindo, Ban and Belaya. In fact, most Jedi only use a single blade when it comes to their lightsaber with Jedi using two blades like Mum and Dad being uncommon through not exactly rare either.

Ultimately, you have a choice to make as you need to come to a decision on this matter.

What does Luka do regarding the fact she now has two lightsabers?
[] [Saber] She sticks with a solo saber style as you have previously been using.
[] [Saber] She begins to learn how to duel wield lightsabers to make use of both your lightsabers.
[] [Saber] Write-in.

Character sheet has been updated with your new arm while old injuries have been removed. You got a nice new arm that is both tough and about as good as you are going to get. I didn't want to show receiving the arm because I don't like writing medical stuff like that so I skipped to Luka and Kira discussing politics and the local situation on their way back. You got a few options to cover what Luka gets up during her time on Coruscant along with a vote on what Luka is going to do now she has two lightsabers.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.

much rarer
remove 'and beskar'

So having a lightsaber proof arm could be used in a lot of ways in solo saber combat like grabbing the enemy's light saber itself to lock it for your light saber to get a clean hit. On the other hand 2 light sabers is usually better than one, the off hand light saber can focus on parrying or blocking while the main lightsaber focuses on offense.

[X] [Saber] She begins to learn how to duel wield lightsabers to make use of both your lightsabers.
I think learning new fighting styles is never a bad investment as it is very likely that we will keep finding trouble.

Updated the sentence to clarify that it is trying to say that phrik is rare when compared against both cortosis and beskar.

Initially, duel-wielding gives a penalty to attack in exchanged for increased damage output and being able to make two attacks at once, but you can migrate that with experience as you become more skilled at duel-wielding.

Not sure it works like that since many dual wielding treatises focus on defensing with the off-hand much more that attacking with both since it is better to have something in your off-hand than nothing at all. Scholagladiatoria has a lot of videos on dual wielding that are relevant to dual wielding.

I'm going by how it works in Star Wars, which makes it harder to hit a target with your weapon with the effect being a bit worse in your off-hand than it is with your main hand.

It is based on the KOTOR system of dual wielding(which is in turn based on the d&d system for dual wielding).

I thought of something more unique and interesting for a write in, if @Oshha will allow it:

[X]Shorten the yellow lightsaber to about half length, and attach it to your prothesis, so it can be used as a secondary dagger like blade, an easy way to deflect shots with the off hand, and performing maneuvers like striking while grabbing enemy lightsabers. Until we can do this start practicing dual wielding

For training, we should take the force power. We are not particularly adept with the force, and having more power is great for us, especially after increasing our force points. Skill on the other hand we improved a lot already, and it was the thing that started as most advanced anyway, and we don't really need new gear, so I am more interested in some of the other things, that will gain us both experience and rewards, in addition to contacts(and Kira relationship with her former associate).

Is approval voting okay?
[X][Act] She takes the time to learn a new Force power.

This a must, pretty much, a must

[X] [Act] She and Kira run into an old associate of the latter

Wanted to know Kira better, didn't we?

It can also be quite interesting anyway, and I wonder who is this associate.

[Act] She and Kira meet up with Vaner.

This is interesting, and could lead to some ties in politics and better understanding of politics

[X] [Act] She gets called to meditate a disagreement.

This is interesting, and it is a situation where Luka needs to persuade without mind trick.

[X] [Act] She makes a friend with a friendly and idealistic Senator.

Getting a new friend in politicd seems good

Also the Star Wars RPG.

You cannot just fuse the lightsaber to your prothesis and trying to do so would only result in damage to both.

Is approval voting okay?
Yes.

I meant to write attach. Don't know why I wrote fuse but it was probably my lack of focus.

I wanted to attach it outside using other some parts, not make it part of it or connected. Somewhat similiar to hidden blades in assassin creed, but a different style of blade and use. The main reason I wanted it on the Prothesis and not the other hand was so it can be combined with the lightsaber immune arm

It this acceptable?

We might need to have some insulation to protect the lightsaber from the cortosis then...

I'm going to say no. Assassin's Creed wouldn't be out of place in Star Wars, but it doesn't fit the theme and character of the Jedi. It would also be far less effective and useful than just using a second lightsaber not to mention hard to learn to use.
