The Gamer of Defiance Quest (Gamer/Defiance/SI)

Can you tell from what will protect this armor? Normal earthly firearms? Normal edged weapon? Or armor adapted to protect against technology of Votan?

Votan tech. Not going to resist cold fire or energy weapon used by the Votans, but it does act as sort of bulletproof armor for a short while. It can take a few bullets, but not much more than that.

Also, the charge blade does have a dagger option. When Datak uses it, it seems like he has the option of sword form, dagger form, and maybe more.

It's still better than plain clothes. What about protection from melee weapons?

I'm not doing the math on how melee weapons compare to bullets, but ordinary metal weapons will probably be able to pierce the armor I'm thinking of. Not really sure. The armor I'm thinking of would be able to take early 21st century level weapons and bullets for a while before breaking, but would get wrecked by Votan stuff.

Well, it sounds pretty reasonable. In the end, no one expects that we will buy power armor for 200 scrips:). Thank you very much for your answers.

weren't we supposed to start with a set of N7 armor and an Avenger assault rifle?

I mean the other option was superpowers and we have neither

I'd say 200 scrips minimum for a good set.
So jcw3, since you didn't toss out a tier list out there. Might I ask if this rough idea for a armor tier system could work for us?

- Shield rank: N/A
- NBC Protection: N/A
- Mobility: Great
- Misc: Straps

Raider Tier - ???
- Armor rank: Decent
- Shield rank: N/A
- NBC Protection: N/A
- Mobility: Poor
- Misc: Straps

Lawkeeper Tier - ???
- Armor rank: Basic
- Shield rank: Poor/Poor/Basic
- NBC Protection: Yes, though only when shields are active
- Mobility: Good
- Misc: Straps

Merc Tier (PA) - ???
- Armor rank: Good
- Shield rank: Decent/Basic/Decent
- NBC Protection: Yes
- Mobility: Poor
- Run time: 4 hours combat and 20 hours basic
- Misc: Internal Coms and GPS

Military Tier (PA) - ???
- Armor rank: Good
- Shield rank: Decent/Decent/Good
- NBC Protection: Yes
- Mobility: Good
- Run time: 8 hours combat and 40 hours basic
- Misc: Internal Coms, GPS and scanners

Bleeding Edge Tier (PA) - ???
- Armor rank: Great
- Shield rank: Great/Great/Great
- NBC Protection: Full Countermeasures
- Mobility: Great
- Run time: 16 hours combat and 80 hours basic

Shield rank break down
Poor

Armor Ranks
Poor
- Gives limited resistance civilian grade fire arms and simple melee devices
Basic - Gives resistance to civilian grade fire arms and simple melee devices
Decent - Gives good resistance to civilian grade fire arms and simple melee devices and limited resistance to military grade arms and powered weapons
Good - Give great resistance to civilian grade fire arms and simple melee devices and resistance to military grade arms and powered weapons
Great - Immune to civilian grade firearms and simple melee devices and gives good resistance to military grade arms and powered weapons

Mobility Ranks

Yes, that could definitely work. Thank you very much!

+1 Stat Point of your choice. I'll include it in the next update, and Myst can add it to the tally.

Glad to be of help here then. :D

As for my point, could I maybe trade it out for a skillbook find instead?

I can give you +30 to a skillbook roll for the bookstore. Meaning that instead of having to roll a 40 to get a book, you have to get a 10. 90% chance of skillbook next time you go to the bookstore.

EDIT: You'll have to specify what skill you want.

Alright then, as for the skill I wanted here, I wanted to aim for either a Danger sense skill or Huntsmen/outdoorsmen skill.

Since both would be of great use for us and help with the whole dealing with things in the bush/random encounter grinding. :)

Add it to your vote. I'll have a 90% chance of it dropping as a piece of outdoors loot. I'll have it be Huntsman, if you don't mind. Sort of a ranger sort of deal. Increased proficiency with archery, hunting guns, hatchets, machetes, as well as with tracking and hunting in general.

@jcw3

Oh and jcw3, there is no law against wearing armor in town like there is carrying around firearms right?

Alright then, I'll add that edit to the plan here.

Okay, guys. I'm going to give y'all a choice in lore for tomorrow. I'll write it up during school if I have time.

Choose between the Cascadian Cooperative Zone, Kingdom of England and Wales, or the United States of Africa.

[x] Kingdom of England and Wales

Shouldn't we be able to just make our own armor and weapons or least repair/fix them?
Just buy the broken things we need and then fix them which should help us grind up our Skills.

Where are we exactly?

Defiance isn't shown on the map. The map only shows polities with more than 10,000 people. There aren't really many places on that map near Defiance, in fact. Fayetteville, Oklahoma City, and Wichita, maybe the Kentucky Foundation, they're pretty close.

Look at the green and black rectangular shape sort of in the north center of the South, then go north a couple dozen pixels. That's about the location of Defiance.
