real reason: I didn't know we could share a hex. But that does make sense, the GDI is going to be making controlled Tiberium 'farms', but it's still close enough that the GDI and EU could have conceivably have met and be allies.

I don't like either of these, for one the first one explicitly contradicts both the backstory and one of my advantages

For another, the second one puts me at a disadvantage against an end of game NPC that no other player has.
