The Dragon Ascendant: NO SV: Welcome To Another Viserys Targaryen Quest (A Ck2 Quest)

'Sniffs dispprovingly'

The only form of diplomancy that religious extremists understand is fire and steel, and we better be the ones to open up dialogue first.
Well, Tell that to Martin Luther.

Henry the VIII.

Or any of the other post CAtholic and orthodox denominations.

And tell me that they didn't just say "Fuck the Church!" and do their own thing.

We are in need of Protestantism
I don't think starting a religious war in Westeros is a good idea. at least not this generation.

After, let it be our sons problem.
Ed is channeling his inner Tully and doing something unexpected…Yey!
Ironically enough, it might actually be a good thing.

At least he isn't fucking up the entire fabric of Westerosi society...

At least... I hope he isn't.

We are in need of Protestantism
I disagree, the great thing about religions with a clear leadership and hierarchy, is that if you control the head you mostly control the whole religion...

If you go for the Universal Priesthood route, the chances of having a charismatic MOFO who can fuck things up increase a lot.

You forgot to mention that none of those guys had dragons (AKA coolest WMD in Fantasy)

It worked really well with Meagor...

We don't want to start a war... But a good old fashioned Purgue sounds great.

Yeah, but the problem with purging is, if we leave any alive that aren't totally fucking terrified of us, we will make an enemy with an institution that will really fucking end our families time in the sun.

Plus you know... what happens in the future, if we have another Baelor?

Well Meagor also was kinda... really fucking insane and paranoid at the end of his life. At least however, he did very good things like defang the Faith.

It is not like you can only purgue an institution once...

Either that or make sure that the guy who is not afraid of us shares our vision on how the Faith should be and make him high septon
Plus you know... what happens in the future, if we have another Baelor?
Hopefully the Faith that we leave behind will be so different that it wouldn't really matter

And since we have melted the Iron Throne, the influence that turned a traumatised young man who seek some answers in religion, into a religious fanatic who locked away his sisters because "they could be a temptation for men" and staved himself to death

Well good news:

We've got a few names.

Bad news... The mainline Faith do not like these boys whatso ever, for their "Low status"

and "Lack of a Sept"

Fuck them, Meribald is the best therapist in Westeros.
Hopefully the Faith that we leave behind will be so different that it wouldn't really matter
With what we might do (what we can do), we'll make Maegor the Cruel look like Baelor the Blessed by comparisson.
And since we have melted the Iron Throne, the influence that turned a traumatised young man who seek some answers in religion, into a religious fanatic who locked away his sisters because "they could be a temptation for men" and staved himself to death
Baelor could have actually been a damn fine king.

Too bad his trauma turned him into a fanatic, and his idea of good rule was... "Theocracy"

Baelor being a man who chose peace over war.

Oh, it is a shame that we can't remove them, or make something about it..

Oh wait, we are the fucking King of Westeros, we have loyal military forces, dragons, the smallfolk loves us, and we are not afraid of playing dirty or soaking our hands in blood...

So why is that a problem again?

Well, at least he had a damn good Hand... The Best One, actually
I mean... I would argue that Viserys the I was not the best hand. If he was, perhaps Baelor could have stayed alive and not died.

Or prevented his son from fucking over the realm by... fucking every girl in the realm.
Or we can Blackmail them...

We own all the brothels in King's Landing, after all
Well the current High Septon is known for his... Worship of the Maiden.

Fuck them, Meribald is the best therapist in Westeros.
I have already told you, @Magoose Septon Ray is basically Meriabald 2.0... He has the same wisdom, kindness, humility, skill as a therapist, reasonable views about religion, and the same ideas of what the Faith should be... But he has a much better sense of humor, and he is significantly better looking and classier (he is the goddammed Ian McShane)

Brother Ray is the next High Septon if I have anything to say about it

Dammit, I wish that we have also recruited Ser Jorah... Viserys Eleven sounds much cooler... Well, we can always try to recruit Gendry or get Batman Dragonman to join later, once the Tradition about the number of Goldcloacks is broken, why stop there?

Yeah, the unfortunate reality of having to dismiss most veterans of an institution because they were corrupt as fuck...

I am sure the greenhorns are doing their best, but we need to train them up to our standards ASAP.

Let´s be honest except for Mace, our Small Council is fucking amazing (and let´s be real, we all know that he is not really in charge there)
We have the most competent small council Westeros has ever seen and that is not something I say lightly.

Our men may not be the best in their given fields, but they are diligent as fuck in making sure things run smoothly.
Dammit, I wish that we have also recruited Ser Jorah... Viserys Eleven sounds much cooler... Well, we can always try to recruit Gendry or get Batman Dragonman to join later, once the Tradition about the number of Goldcloacks is broken, why stop there
We have but one problem with that: Jorah is off North doing gods know what while trying to control Maege from becoming a mother for the 5th time.

Plus Ned needs his man working to find… Littlefinger.
Jacelyn is totally commissioner Gordon now, and let´s hope that we can talk with Bonifer soon... Besides that, now that we have the Mountain let´s hope we can resove things peacefully, because Sandor and Oberyn want to kill him and they don´t like sharing
Jacelyn may be the Gordon but that totally means Mathos is the Bulluck.

And that either means fun time as ahead of the cesspool of our city will eat him whole.
Well, everything here is as expected...
Yep.
Well, most of the Crownlands support us, let´s hope we can change those cold and neutral opinions
Soon.

Also the Crownland houses are a bunch of weirdos that will flock to us if we meet them any sort of way.
Yeah, the unfortunate reality of having to dismiss most veterans of an institution because they were corrupt as fuck
KLPD: We're not curropt the city is. TM.
am sure the greenhorns are doing their best, but we need to train them up to our standards ASAP.
Soon.

Also something to say…

Our council is the least curropt in Westerosi history.

It's actually kinda sad.

Dammit, I wish that we have also recruited Ser Jorah... Viserys Eleven sounds much cooler...

I mean counting Viserys himself there are 11 of them, which is certainly enough for a heist protection detail. Viserys certainly will be participating actively in his own defense should someone be so foolish to try to assassinate any of our family.

Our council is the least curropt in Westerosi history.

Is it also the most skilled? Are there any people in history that would have higher skill levels individually in your opinion? Also, I know that everyone we picked is at the cream of the crop (hopefully) but what does the average Westerosi look like in comparison?

Much to his own king's guards' dismay, because they want to keep him alive, and well. Because it's their job to protect him

Now if Daeron was threatened... magic powers or evil shadow assassins from the Faceless men won't be able to stop Viserys.

No seriously. V's magic when protecting his family is bullshit powerful.
Is it also the most skilled?
No, not a chance in hell. Hell the most skilled was during the regency of the Aegon the 3rd. and they were fucking everything up and playing powergames.

The best council overall, was under, ironically enough, Daeron the Good, when Baelor Breakspear was hand. Because Baelor smash head was a fine hand... and kept Bloodraven in line. For what that is worth.
Are there any people in history that would have higher skill levels individually in your opinion?
For one, Tywin Lannister, Daemon the Rouge Prince, and the Oakenfist himself. Those boys are in a league of their own.

Currently, Tywin, if you wanted to live dangerously. is the best hand alive, and with you on the throne, could see Westeros into a golden age, if you decide to restrain him.

Now not to say Jaime isn't competent, but he is no Tywin.

Now, if there was one thing I will say: Your council is not corrupt, or looking after familial interests but are looking after Westerosi interests. That is huge.

And while it may not lead to any nationalist sentiments or Pan Westerosi identity, it will most assuredly make progress.
Also, I know that everyone we picked is at the cream of the crop (hopefully) but what does the average Westerosi look like in comparison?
The Averege Westerosi Lord, is around 10.

Averege Smallfolk... 5.

We are with the Creamdelacrem in terms of Advisors and court right now.

Though with the way the Riverlands is Rolling and how Edmure seems to have cultivated something terribly bad for continued stability...

He's also got himself a really really good fucking court.

Fuck... That is the Tully Gene taking over, isn´t it?

Damn those trouts, one moment you have a perfectly rational and intelligent human being... And suddenly, for no apparent reason, they do something so stupid that any 6-year-old could see how stupid it was, and that literally screws everything for everyone...

Ironically enough, the people he hired are sane, sensible and loyal.

Just the ideas they are speaking are pretty insane by Westerosi Standerds.

What is... (Looks at rolls) Popular sovereignty and Accountable Government, and courts with a jury of their peers?
