The Dragon Ascendant: NO SV: Welcome To Another Viserys Targaryen Quest (A Ck2 Quest)

[X]The Sunset Invasion: The Ghosts of the Past are coming back to Haunt Westeros. Brandon the Shipwright found something in the west, and then he died. But it seems whatever came from the West is coming east. To enact Vengence for a crime no one knew was commited.

I was thinking on voting the "End of history" option. Something about "Humanity being the bringer of its destruction" ringing with me.

But I can see why it could be the less ground-breaking of the options, so I'm going to vote for the one less than nothing is known. The West.

Besides that @Magoose can you tell us a little more about our enemies on The Box is Broken and The Fire of the East?

Because for your description both of them seemed like the classical cult of Apocalyptic Morons, who want to wake up the Ancient Evil which will destroy the world just because they are morons...
Thank you. Didn't noticed the double vote

Yes because those people were blood thirsty savages that butchered half his crew on first contact, held him prisoner for twenty years and used his blood to fuel an ancient complex that literally gave these people magic super powers and his Kings blood could make the so powerful that they wished to take over their continent and later the world.
Dammit, I just realized that fucking Melissandre was right all along, and if with the blood of a single King of the North those fuckers manages to do all that, what the can do with the blood of several ones... Or worse, with the blood of Jon Snow which is the combination of Stark and Targaryen

So if the leading option wins, next turn we need to take this option, get Jon Snow to remain in King´s Landing, and make sure to recover our bastard sons and her mothers from Volantis (if we find out about their existence).
[ ] The Lonely Dragons: At the moment, the entirety of House Targaryen consists of you and your infant child, your sister, and your nephew. Is it possible that there's more family out there? Your father and brother may have had bastards, and who knows how many female relatives married into other families? Your knowledge of your family tree is woefully incomplete, and you would know more. DC 50/75/100. Reward: learn more about the branches of the Targaryen family, ??? (15,000 Dr)

TBH these Aztecs seem to have a significantly better reason than the others to do their shit...

The Fire of the East?
They are your bog-standard, Valyrian restorationists, with a bit more crazy then usual.

To be completely honest, they are the ones who wish to cleanse the world in fire, so they can rebuild on the ashes, that sort of shit.

The problem is, they would rather make Dragons the dominant spieces again and then become Dragonborn/ Dragon human hybrids.

Basically, they are for "We are Dragons, because we want to be."
Now that is a fun one:

You see if the Box is broken that is an interesting one.

See the God that lives under there has been slowly pushing for his return for thousands of years, and has taken a significant interest in the Last of the Dragon Lord Families.

The Targaryens. See he wants to destroy them, and whoever works for them, because the last time he tried to take on the Dragon lords, he got fucked by the Targs and they became Dragonlords by slaying a God.

Now this wasn't uncommon back in the day, but it bears mentioning.

The Targs, before they became Dragonlords of Valyria, were the family of DnD protagonists every generation, doing insane shit because the Empire demanded them to be such.

Once they became Dragonlords, they calmed down.

But the badass blood within the Targ Family, and within all the Kings of Westeros' family (even the Baratheon's) Basically make them prime magic DnD charecters.

And they need to be dead, before he can take over the world.

[X]The Fire of the East: You saw a great flame consume the Great Grass Sea. A Fire was rising all over Essos that was consuming everything in it's path. And leading it was a Monster you thought you would never see. Typhoon, the Mother of Dragons. The Doom was coming again, and this time, it would consume the Entire World.

Now, that is so fucking cool!!!

I hope that it gets more votes, it certainly sounds awesome, and it is my favorite Apocalyptic Threat by far...

Bleh, the fire if the east sounds really boring then. I do want to slay a god, but i can accept magical not-aztecs as well.

It's one of the main Reasons Stannis the Mannis is so awesome!

He's Literally a fucking LV 20 strategist, that duel classed as a warrior.

Hell: Viserys by DND standards is only a LV 15 rouge.

[X]The End of History: He showed you nothing. No great clash, no monster to fight, no invasion to stop. There was only Westeros. There was only you. And in the end, there were only the people under you, that could cause the most brutal thing you could witness. The End of Westeros. The End of a Dream that Aegon Started. The End of, some might call, history itself.

WEll now. I can't say I'm a little surprised, but hey, who am I to challenge the will of the voters.

Plus hey, a foreign invasion plot is always entertaining. Especially when I have a great deal of plans to go with it.

So I hope you don't mind, but The Power within omkae...

I'm going to be honest, I uh... am not satisfied with it after five drafts. And I want to get to the rumor mill, because I feel I've bogged myself down with far to many interludes and I don't want this quest to die.

I'm just going to give you the rewards so I can finish Viserys Verbally bitch slapping all the delegates of the East with Facts and logic, and realpolitic.

Reward:

You now have a beginning of a Greater bond with your Dragon, Ebrion, and can now summon him by calling out his name anywhere within Westeros.

He is far more likely to listen to your commands while you are by him, or on him.

You can now Ride your dragon without fear of being thrown off and eaten. You think you feel a great power within you that you can channel.

Dany and Egg have the same feeling.

You can now study Fire Magic. You are immune to almost all forms of flame and fire damage (except for lava)

And I see that cancelling the interlude is totally logical, but I have to say that I would have loved seen Bill and Viserys discovering that sor of bond
I just really really could not write the magic scenes. Okay.

Besides, I just wrote five pages of Viserys and Tywin being amazing together. I am not stopping until that is done.

Interlude: Neutrality Above All:
Interlude: Neutrality Above All:

Lord Tywin was annoyed, and at this time, you could get used to that look of both displeasure and curiosity that was on his face. He had cleaned himself up a little, his mutton chops were thankfully shortened to a respectable length that didn't look like he was trying to have a fucking Lion's mane.

Gods, you wondered if you were foolish for not ordering that bastard to shave his muttonchops to assert dominance. It would have been fun and it would have been amazingly hilarious to see a beardless Tywin try to hold court. It may have been even intimidating, but you were wishing for the man's help, not his anger, enmity, and hatred.

As much as you already have when you removed him from the West, stole his son, and placed Tyrion on the Rock. Well, Jaime placed Tyrion on the Rock, but you were certain that he blamed you for that.

But sitting here, with Tywin before you, was an odd occurrence. You did not remember Tywin Lannister as the hand of the king, but you remembered your father's rants and raves when you hid behind your mother about how Tywin was the man who ruined his legacy as a great King. By being competent, and the true power behind the Throne, the Economy, and a great deal of the improvement you were sure history would credit to your father. If they were uneducated or bothered to ignore this man's talents.

You were certain enough that if he had it his way, Tywin Lannister would write his own history. In fact, you hoped for it. A Lord of the West, to a Master Diplomat, quite change of fortune if one squinted his eyes narrow enough to not see the demotion. A healthier one for you, he was still alive after all. Perhaps they may remember him as a man who put the realm over his ambition. Like a certain Spider who shall not be remembered as anything more than a footnote for your return.

You scratched your chin as Tywin finally broke the awkward silence. His green eyes were like a lino that just caught sight of its prey. "We must answer them with strength. They will not respect a Westeros that will not defend its own interests."

"After two wars Lord Tywin, what interests could we possibly have that is beyond treaty and protecting the seas from pirates? We are near decimated from those conflicts" You wanted to pick his brain, to figure out if there was more than just the raw, nacked ambition of Tywin Lannister, trying to restore his influence to court. You needed to know if there was the man who would do anything to keep Westeros safe and prosperous in that mind.

"Westeros has always had its shores protected from the East, from slavers and pirates from the strength of its armies that could be called upon, veteran forces that know nothing but war, even when supported by the smallfolk that know nothing of it." Tywin started. "The Royal navy is the second most powerful force in the world, after the Bravossi Fleet when one factor's in the iron and Redwyne fleet if under control of the Master of Ships." Lord Tywin was telling you things that you already knew, and you were quiet as you contemplated the words carefully.

"Yet you still have not answered my questions, what are the Interests of Westeros?" You replied.

Lord Tywin, uncharacteristically, spoke immediately after the words left your mouth. "It is your will, in the very end. But one must remember that others do not share the same interests. Many, if they feel threatened, may wish for war, or an expedition of some sort to secure their own interests."

"So there is no unified interests of Westeros. Just my own and others?" You asked. "I could have told you that?"

"Yet you did not, and you ask for my counsel." Tywin stated.

"I do not wish for there to be war in the East, not after so much war here in the West." You stated. "That is what I wish for, and there will not be any arguments from you. And you will assist me in making that known, to all that come to negotiate."

Tywin, for a brief moment, looked impressed, beneath the stony glare that he wore on his face. "And how may I assist you, your Grace?" He stated.

Slowly a smile rose on your face. "You know some of these men or their type, do you not?"

Tywin realized what you were doing. "What do you plan?"

"Simple, bait them in, have them make promises, find out how desperate they really are. Then I will come and make things clear that despite all their promises, their bribes, and they're most assured begging. I will not yield a single man of Westeros, to fight in their wars." You replied.

Lord Tywin, showed something you know is a rare sight. A smile. "Vey well your Grace. I will see it done."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two weeks. Two weeks of purely difficult and utterly asinine negotiations. You could count over a hundred times that you wanted to just throw these so-called diplomats to your dragon to have Ebrion eat them.

These were not diplomats, they were just men parading around, eating your food, sleeping in your castle, and trying to marry Dany off to one of their merchant princes.

Now you would not have minded such things if it were not for the bribes.

The copious amounts of bribes that would have made Robert Baratheon salivate at the idea of fighting them all.

The Braavosi diplomat, fresh from having a great deal of money returned due to you paying off all the debts, was adamant that he could secure a loan of 10 million gold dragons, at 1 percent interest, if you joined the Braavosi fleet in Smashing Pentos into dust and retaking Andalos from the Pentosi. When they tried to bribe Tywin, they made no simple remarks about removing Tyrion from the Rock permanently and having Tywin reinstated.

You had learned that, despite the possibility of that happening, even Tywin was not stirred enough to accept such a proposal. Every man had his price, but it seems the Braavosi had yet to find Tywin Lannister's. But they might have.

Magister Illyrio's man was much more… clued into your ideas and made no such promises as grandious. Only offering to "Remember that I know your name"

You had told Tywin it was a joke, and that he had stolen a book a long time ago. And you made sure to have that man killed when he stepped off of Westerosi soil. Maester Bill even prepared a poison to be used just in case you wanted him to suffer.

The rest were rather meager promises of gold, debt forgiveness ships, even land. But none of them really phased you as a truly remarkable thing that you wanted to have or wished to spend lives to obtain.

And all were equally boring.

But on the final day of the meetings, you had called them all tho the throne room, and you lounged on the throne, looking bored and lazy, but attentive, putting up a mask that all but Tywin Lannister thought legitimate. It was your plan after all.

Finally, you sat up. Everyone became quiet and attentive, you held them all in the palm of your hand. Just as you liked it. "My Lord's, I am going, to be frank with you. To utterly dismay and sense of decorum because have shown nothing of the sort while you were here. In fact, with the numerous bribes, the insulting ways you have tried to court my sister, and the threats against my court, the reason I don't kill you all and send your heads back to your masters, is because I am not my father. And that I do not fear the east."

"Your Grace, what is it that you mean?" One asked as you smiled, the trap finally laid bare.

"Because Westeros is not your backwater to use anymore, to steal the wealth of the nation that rightfully belongs to my people to see it used by decadent slavers who hold no value or honor to anything but coin." You stated as you stood. "I have seen your cities, grand as they are, but the city is the only grand part of it. Its people are nothing but a cesspool of filth that has never faced true terror, horror, or war in three hundred years. They think war is a glorious business that can be fought by those who will be bought and paid for."

You walked to face each and every one of those men. "You think that coin can buy anything. Yet it will not by my support or that of my lord's." You tilted your head as you saw all the diplomats prepare to argue.

"You- Your Lord, Tywin promised!" one shouted.

"Promised what? That I would consider the offer made, accept it for the poultry amount of gold and silver you can offer? To make my kingdom, ravaged by war, somehow wealthier when i lose all the free cities save one, from my choice?" You frowned. "Do not take me for a fool."

"Westeros is neutral in the bidding, the wars, and the conflicts of the east, and will be backed by Dragonfire if need be." You stated.

When it was silent again, you merely gave a mocking bow. "Go back to your masters, and tell them you failed."
---------------------------------------------------------

Lord Tywin was not amused by the theatrics. "You should have been more diplomatic."

"I was being very diplomatic. I didn't feed them to my dragon." You replied.

"You harsh statements and proclamation will not endear us to the east." He replied.

"I know, but that is something we will need to cross when we are ready. I will inform Lord Stannis to double his patrols and to make sure that any slaver that may be coming our way."

"You expect trouble?" Tywin asked.

"I expect it to find me Lord Tywin, ask your son how that tends to work out for the trouble." You replied.

All that left was a confused Tywin as you walked to your room, and to Arianne.
------------------------------

Reward: You have strongly proclaimed Westerosi neutrality to the rest of the world during this time of strife in the east, Making little friends in the East.

The East burns, now that there is no West to come and tip the scales.

You have a strange feeling that the Eastern Cities are not happy with your decision, and will do anything to change your mind, but lack the will, the support, or the balls to do it themselves.

Westerosi ships are not at the moment under threat from Eastern companies and Free City impounding.

Lord Tywin, while a bit mad you were undiplomatic, is impressed by your ability to make the Diplomats look like fools, and ruin the Free cities reputation all over Westeros.

Your Lord's love the show of strength and are behind your decision to maintain neutrality.

I love that as long as Viserys isn't as bad as Robert or Aerys he can get away with so much.

Out of curiosity, how is Aerys thought of now that Robert is the more recent terrible king? Have people softened on him now that there's been a king in between and a few decades passed, or is he still considered as bad or worse than Robert? Absence probably wouldn't make the heart fonder in this case, but Robert is at least more recent.

Well, the thing with Viserys is, his reputation as a mad lad draws other mad lads to him... With his whole stick of stopping robert butchering and committing genocide, he's actually gained a lot of supporters of the more... minority's of Westeros, like the Northmen, the Dornish, and ironically enough the riverlords.

The Ironborn love him because of his just clearly badass attitude and his willingness to face death and anything that comes at him with a wink and a smile.

Robert will go down in history as "Bloody King Robert" Not only for his genocidal actions in the final years of his reign but also for his overreaction at the Ironborn rebellion and the destruction of pyke. He may have had a few years of peace, but it was characterized by corruption, mass spending, and decadence that has not been seen since Aegon the 4th.

The fact he liked war more then anything else also may color future historians perceptions of his rebellion as well.

As for Aerys, well...

He reigned for well over 20 years and until he burned Brandon and Rickard... he actually could be considered a very good king... or a decent one with a fantastic hand.

Most of the time, Aerys grand ideas were placated and measured by the Brilliance and political savvy of Tywin Lannister, and if any history is written about this time period, it would be remembered for the duel nature of these two men, and ironically enough, Tywin will possibly live much greater in history as Aerys Hand, then he will as lord of the West. As many of his reforms and centralizing power grabs there had to be slowly eroded in his later years, when he decided that Tyrion should not get the rock, instead of doing his damndest to make the transition as smooth as possible.

As for... a future possible plot...

Well You'll see.

The Rumor mill 1 (298 AC Half 1):
The Rumor mill 1 (298 AC Half 1):

The Three-Headed Dragon flies triumphantly in the summer breeze as the Targaryen Restoration defeated the Usurper Robert Baratheon, and brought the Lonely Dragons to their rightful home! King Viserys promises to usher in a new era of stability and prosperity, of laws and justice. With highborn and smallfolk alike begin to wonder if perhaps this is a king who means what he says, with varying degrees of comfort with the idea.

The North:

  • House Stark has marshalled the North to pride of place in the King's allies, and Lord Eddard now serves as Master of Laws in the Small Council, with rumours abounding that either of his eldest children may wed one (or even both!) of the spare Targaryen heirs. Apart from the (expected and unregarded) bitter grumblings of Barbrey Dustin, the lords of the North are proud to have taken part in the Restoration, though some second sons and younger brothers have (very quietly) groused about feeling as turncoats against the Usurper, Robert Baratheon. Under the leadership of Lord Stark, the North has become an economic powerhouse to rival the Reach, and the Northern lords are making the most of this newfound largesse, as they all know well, "Winter is Coming."
  • Lord Gerion Lannister of Long Lake, "The Lion in Winter", has welcomed his second child and first son, Jacen Lannister. Work has now begun in earnest on his keep with the end of the war and his return to the North, and he hopes to have his little family out of Winterfell, and the Starks' hair, by next year's end. It is said that young Lady Sansa thinks of young Lady Joy to be like a sister to her, and is displeased at the idea of the Lannisters departing.
  • Domeric Bolton is said to have come down with terrible sickness after returning home from the war. Lady Dacey has managed the Dreadfort in her lord husband's stead, apparently causing some uproar in the town by dismissing many of the old lord's favored servants and burning old heirlooms and keepsakes in a bonfire far from the castle's walls. The smell is said to have been repellent, and to have lingered for days.
  • Jon Snow, the Bastard of Winterfell, has made great waves within the North as a warrior. In the Winterfell Melee that happened earlier this year, held by his brother, Robb Stark, in honor of all the men and women who fought in the Restoration. In over 2 hours of bloody combat, a marathon of fighting of over three hundred men and women, the melee went to a bloody conclusion, as Jon Snow, beat Great Jon Umbar as the last man standing, winning the victors purse of 50,000 dragons.
  • Lord Theon Greyjoy has requested to return home, and Lord Stark did not feel the need to say no. He is already one of Lord Starks most loyal Captians in the Sunset sea, and with the great change that has come to Westeros, the threat of violence to keep them in line is no longer needed. Balon cannot even control the men and women in Pyke, those that are still alive rebuilding the keep, and preparing for his return.
  • More news from Winterfell, as the crippled yet intelligent Lord Brandon Stark, seemed to be having prophetic dreams. In his dreams, he claims that he is flying, not on the back of a dragon, but within a crow. And that beyond the Wall, someone is calling for him to come North. His mother refuses to allow him to do so, but there is a lot of Talks throughout the North, that Brandon Stark is the Next Greenseer of the North. The Prophet of the Old Gods.
From Master of Laws: My Son has had dreams his entire life, detailing facts that are to frequent and detailed to just be simple dreams. I have always been careful to never press my son in details about what he sees, as I fear that such pressure will cause him a great deal of pain. But he is the one who helped Ser Jorah find all those years ago. And I believe that, in certain circumstances, his dreams should be taken into consideration, when making a decision of more… mysterious. While I have already talked to my lady wife from keeping many of the more, religious among our Lord's from causing more tension in the south than there already is.

My Son Jon has always been a warrior, a prodigy with the sword, and on foot. I did not think he would have been foolish enough to join a melee at his young age, but it appears my thoughts and wishes on the matter were ignored. After I scold him in writing, I will make sure that he puts some of that money away for charity.

Despite everything that has happened. I fear my wifes' reaction to this new… magical world we live in than my son being declared a prophet.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Vale:

  • Jon Arryn returned home from King's Landing a broken man, and was not improved by sending his only son to King's Landing. This act, along with Ser Brynden's departure for the Kingsguard, led to such a fight between Lord Arryn and his wife that even the normally taciturn and insular highborn have remarked on its ferocity and cruelty from both parties. Many say it only ended because Lord Arryn struck her with enough force to separate her jaw. A heavy silence has since reigned in the Eyrie, some suspect only because of the bandages keeping the lady's jaw in place and mouth closed.
  • Hill clansmen have been making a greater nuisance of themselves than usual, some even daring to attack the Bloody Gate. This has left many highborn of the Vale on edge, none more so than Lady Lysa. Whispers about the apparent weakness of Lord Arryn in the face of such brazen raids cannot be traced back to her, for obvious reasons, but suspicion lies squarely on her nonetheless.
  • An unnamed keep on the smallest of the Fingers was said to have been burned to the ground by a party of twenty cloaked men. Lord Royce Coldwater led his men to apprehend this party, but found none of the arsonists. Upon returning to Coldwater Burn, however, he had in his company some dozen wandering orphaned children. Lord Royce fed and housed them for the night, saying he wished to "question the little birds" about who or what they might have seen in the morning. He claims to be deeply embarrassed that they all somehow slipped his grasp before the following dawn and could not be recovered.

The Westerlands:

  • The rapid one-two punch of Tywin's arrest and Jaime's abdication has left most of the Westerland lords reeling, which may have ended up helping Lord Tyrion claim power, as demonstrating calm and consistency seems to be the balm the Westerlands needed. Lords have come to proclaim fealty, and to renew offers of unwed daughters (notably, some have been of less high stature than the offers made only months ago to then-Lord Jaime – fourth daughters instead of first, and so on). Lord Tyrion has graciously accepted the former, and politely but strenuously rejected the latter.
  • Ser Raynald Westerling brought the fealty of his father and the offered hand of his sister to the new Lord Paramount, but has remained by Tyrion's side after swearing said fealty and receiving polite refusal of said hand. Apparently, the new lord and young knight have taken a shine to each other, which may be the most advancement Lord Gawen can hope for, for the time being.
  • Men of Fair Isle have claimed to be seeing lights near the horizon of the Sunset Sea in the dark of night. However, no ships have come from the direction of these lights, and no ships sailing forth have found anything or anyone when they look. The Ironborn have been accused of some kind of shenanigans, but Lord Harlaw swears that no Ironborn are in that area, and none have any interest in harassing House Farman anyhow.
From the Master of Ships: Your Grace, I must state that the men of Lonely Light have seen the same light on the horizon. And while we know next to nothing about the lands further west of Westeros, I must say something of a rumor, an old tale that has been told by Ironmen since the beginning of time immemorial. The Great Ones put up a barrier to prevent us from going further west. And it has been broken, according to those same legends. And something horrible lies beyond it. But they are just stories, and stories are not what I take stock in.

  • Lord Keaven Lannister has finally gotten through his drunken stupor, at the orders of his brother Tywin, and despite him being more in the bottle than before, he and Tyrion are working closer to maintain the West, and it's new King.
    • From the Hand of the King: Tyrion is actually now joining my uncle in a great deal of time drinking wine, and developing new ways to handle the situations that may come up. My father may have despised spies and agents when he did not neef them, Tyrion has built himself up quite a network of friends and allies all over the West by being himself. Something I never thought i would say without irony. But life has a way of proving us wrong.
    • My father should not be trusted with a great deal of power or influence within the court if you do not want factionalism to start dividing your court. Use him if you must, but make sure you remind him that he is alive because you allow it, and you wish to keep Westeros whole.

The Iron Islands:

  • Maybe it's the return of the old dynasty. Maybe it's because King Viserys took down Robert, the bloody butcher of Pyke. Or maybe it's because he took down Tywin Lannister, and to their minds he did it "like an Ironborn", paying the Iron Price rather than with gold or with words. Regardless, the Iron Islands sit as firmly by the new king's side as any dragonseed. Calls for independence or renewed rebellion now are not quietly whispered at taverns or bantered between lords, but thoroughly beaten out of whoever was stupid enough to voice aloud the idea of turning on their now-beloved "Stormbreaker."
  • The Iron Fleet, once destroyed by the Baratheons, is now reborn and sailing the seas alongside mainlander ships instead of hunting them. Under Lord Harlaw, many of the Ironborn have become privateers rather than raiders, accompanying mainlander ships as paid protection through pirate-haunted waters. Some at home might grumble about the Gold Price replacing the Iron Price and the Old Ways being waylaid once again by old Lord Quellon's ideals, but any captain asked seems thrilled. Baelor Blacktyde is claimed to have said, "We get as much gold to shield these Greenlanders as we would from boarding them, and we get to practice the Old Ways on any pirate stupid enough to cross us! Iron and Gold do us better together than either did alone."
  • Balon Greyjoy is, by the words of the few servants that see him, unwell. What little hair he clings to is wiry and white, he is barely eating, and his mind seems farther afield with each day; he is said to fall silent for hours, staring out into the bay, then without prompting or incidence begin to scream at his father, or his brothers, or his sons, or simply put forth incoherent frothing while rushing about the ruins of Pyke; other times, he is said to be found scrabbling for bugs in the stonework or noisily slurping at standing water. It is quickly becoming a question of when, not if, someone new will sit on the Seastone Chair.
The Crownlands:

  • Succession is the word on the minds of all as many Crownlands houses are now in question – chief among them Rosby and Duskendale. Renfred Rykker, the last Lord of Duskendale, died with Robert at the Trident, leaving behind two daughters and a pregnant wife. Rosby, meanwhile, has the sole remaining member of its house rotting in the Black Cells. There are no less than seven claimants unsubtly waiting in the wings for Lord Rosby's inevitable death and loss of his seat.
  • Éoland Wendwater, a veteran of the Golden Company, has claimed the vacant Wendwater seat and quickly begun gathering unlanded horsemen and archers of the Company to his side. Lord Éoland speaks of forming a company of men to mind the Kingswood and protects smallfolk within from predation by bandits. Others, however, are distrustful given that they remember the Kingswood Brotherhood … among them the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard and the Hand of the King.
  • In King's Landing, the Man who could be safely called "The Dragon Knight" Continues to evade capture, with many of the Guards thinking he is less a man and more a myth, a spirit of the great knights who lived in the city. Some even think he's Aemon the Dragon Knight come again. Others think he's Daemon Blackfyre, taking revenge on the city that should be his.
    • From Chatya: I have seen a great number of rumors in my life, but none of them have ever struck me as odd, like this. A Man beating up criminals for no reason other than that they are scum. And need to be brought to justice, and your Watch is utterly incompetent to anything about it? Madness. But I can't say I don't approve of this Knights's actions. My girls feel safe walking the streets at night, and that is something I have never heard before in this city.

  • In Dragonstone, The Three Dragons have gone into the Volcano of the Dragonmount and while they came out a few days later, no one is sure what they did there. But they came out looking bigger, and stronger. No one can explain how that happened, and no one understands what it will do to you?
    • From Maester Bill: I have read theories about Dragonlore, and how that Dragons that are closer to the fires of the earth absorb the heat and energy from the Planet themselves, and they use it to accelerate their growth. But we do not know if it will be temporary, or not. But I beseech you to be careful.
The Stormlands:

  • New hope rises for House Baratheon! After finding its future on a knife's edge with only a greyscaled daughter (and countless bastard nieces and nephews) to Lord Stannis' name, Lady Selyse has sent word that the blessings of R'hllor shine upon her house – she is pregnant. Rumors fly around, most being variations on themes of Lady Selyse being a witch who has gotten with dark powers for her new baby, but no rumor is quite so wild as the one that says upon receiving the news, a smile came to the infamously stony Lord Stannis' face.
    • From Stannis: Any man who claimed that I smiled will earn Twenty Five Lashes. Except for Ser Davos.
  • On Tarth, Lady Brienne of Tarth is said to have battled the shadows that sprung against her Father and her stepmother, attacking the pregnant woman with dreams and deadly poisons not of this world. But Brienne had been blessed by the Light of the Seven and with the armor of light and steel from the Smith itself, she battled the evil and purged it from the lands. The Seven have blessed their champion on this world it seems, and it is the ugly Daughter of Tarth.
  • Another Ship crashed into ship breaker bay, but no survivors were found. But there have been reports of the plant life in and around the castle, are being drained of life. The Smallfolk are fearful that darkness has been summoned, with the Iron Throne being destroyed.
The Reach:

  • Septons in the Starry Sept have taken to giving sermons about the coming end times, with the Magic of the World returning, and how the Faith needs its strength to face this great trouble, and defeat it with fire and steel. The Inquisition of the seven, an institution that was outlawed during Maegor the Cruels reign has reformed again, with its inquisitors, acting without your authorization, to act as judge jury, and executioner to any they consider "Cursed."
  • The High Septon has denounced you as a Heretic, forsaking many of the great traditions of the Seven and the Seven kingdoms with your wants of fancy, and breaking of many traditions within the long history of Westeros. Nine members on the guard, eight on the Small Council. A King who is lacking in faith and in control.
    • From Lord Tyrell: These are rumors, nothing more. The faith has always respected the laws of Westeros and your rule in it. Even with, radical changes that you have done during the first months of your rule. There is nothing to these rumors. I promise you that.
  • Samwell Tarly, of the Citidel, an acolyte that has been a prodigy in many of the subjects of his choosing, had invented something that may change the world. He had seen stamps from Yi-Ti, stamps that would print single words onto a page or scroll. He started making a few letters for Westerosi Common, and then, using a wine press, modified for his usage then he made a page on the Seven-Pointed Star. Than another. And Another. In less than a week, he finished the Book of Angels. Two weeks the Letters of the Saints. Four Weeks, the entire book. He has invented something that can, with time, print books.
    • From Maester Bill: He is the most brilliant man who has ever graced the citadel. That is All I can say. And if we can recreate his invention, there will be more books than the world will know what to do with.

Dorne:

  • Lady Mellario has returned from her long summering in her homeland of Norvos. She has sent a raven congratulating the King and Queen, and expressing regrets she was unable to attend their coronation. Her letter also speaks of many gifts that she hopes to bestow upon her daughter and grandchildren when she can see them. She has taken up residence in the Water Gardens, to accommodate the large household and retinue that accompanies her, but she makes her way to Sunspear with regularity.
    • From the Master of Whispers: A palanquin of hers does, at any rate – it arrives early in the morning and leaves after supper, with Martell men escorting it each way. My brother's wife continues to be unreconciled with our family, but she at least has the good sense to keep up appearances. I suspect she sends our men away from the Water Gardens each day so she doesn't feel like she's being watched by us. I am doing nothing to dissuade her of that fantasy.
I likewise suspect she waited until crowns actually sat upon your heads before she even commissioned a ship from Norvos, and hopes to bend my niece to her will now that Arianne is Queen Consort. These things I cannot prove, but I know enough of Mellario to trust not one word from her hand nor one breath from her mouth, and neither should Your Graces
      .

  • Lord Edric Dayne, of Starfall, has taken Dawn, and has become the Sword of the Morning. This comes after an unknown person attempted to steal the blade from the Vault of the Stars. The Blade then began to fly through the air, and towards the North, and the Dornish Marshes. Before being etched into the Stone outside the keep of the Lightning Lord. Many men tried to claim it, but the Boy Lord pulled the sword from the Stone and felt the power within him that only Dawn could give. And the Blade spoke to him, "The Dark is coming. So Bring the Dawn."
    • From Maester BIll: I have no idea what happened, but it seems that Dawn is more powerful than any believed. It may be wise to investigate before things get stranger.

The Riverlands:

  • House Frey is ascendant! Despite entering the war on the wrong side, somehow the ever-present house has turned its fortunes around. There are now six Freys in contention for lordship of keeps across the Riverlands, with young Olyvar Frey taking lordship of the Twins, supported by the younger generation of Freys against the other heirs and claimants. Called Olly the Unlikely by the local smallfolk, the rise of Walder Frey's eighteenth son (and 50th in line!) was as unexpected as it was bloody: after their elders wrought destruction upon themselves, the youngest Freys took to arms and raised Olyvar to the lordship, putting down any that stood against them and hoped to continue fighting against the Dragon and his allies.
  • Meanwhile, Lord Hoster Tully has been gracious about being stymied in his longstanding attempts to see his brother the Blackfish wedded off. Young Lord Edmure has become well-regarded among formerly aloof Riverlander lords, after his brief but successful tenure aiding the King as the Acting Master of Laws. Arranged marriages have started to be offered at a greater rate than he previously received, but Lord Edmure has been noted to spend a great deal of time in the company of Lady Roslin Frey, who has acted as Lord Olyvar's emissary and has become a confidant of the heir to Riverrun.

Elsewhere:

  • At the Wall, There is a rumor from the Lord Commander. The Wall is… strengthening. The men who work there are feeling a sense of duty that has not been felt since Raymond Redbeard's invasion. The new recruits see a new life and accept it as if they know that they are fighting something darker beyond the Wall. But there is also news of something more sinister. Winter is coming. Prepare.
  • Beyond the Wall, There is talk of a new king beyond it, a former ranger who has won the respect of the tribes. Mance Rayder. You do not know anything about this man, but he is said to defeat the White Walkers king in single combat.
  • In Slavers Bay, there is talk of an influx of tens of thousands of slaves. Alesander's conquest and destruction of the Dothraki were as complete as the destruction of the Sarnor, thousands of years ago. The only ones who survived were in chains. This was no war. This was Genocide. And it was complete in less than a year.

AN: Enjoy.

Chirst that took a while.

Alright I'm taking a week off to prepare the next turn, because no way, am I going to write Essos right now.
