The Dragon Ascendant: NO SV: Welcome To Another Viserys Targaryen Quest (A Ck2 Quest)

[X]The Vale: Robert Arryn is not in the Vale right now, he is with his Uncle Ned, and is quite a bright boy, if childish with a fine future of peace and tranquility in your court. The Vale is not the same. Hill Tribes are raiding and taking territory, Gulltown has a threat from Eastern Merchant and slavers are on the Fingers. To say nothing of Jon Arryn's mysterious, if expected death. The Vale is a powderkeg that needs to be handled delicately. Also, there is a very horrifying rumor… Dragon eggs in the Vale.

The last thing we need is Littlefinger doing Littlefinger things to the Vale from far away.
Good point. Something tells me he's still manipulating Lysa. Maybe we can put an end to that.

To See and Quell the Flames
To See and Quell the Flames

(Alister Sarawyck POV)

I knew that migrating would be hard…but this is a situation.

You looked to your castellan and sighed. "What are the damages from the most recent riot."

He looked at you with some form of sympathy.

"M'lord…understand that the damages are still being compiled. And we have yet to-." He said.

You slammed your fist against the throne of your house and you sighed a great deal. The stare you gave bore into the man with a cold fury as the flame of the candlelight on the table. Your castellan had helped you with a great many things in the time it took you to build a small community in your father's hall and city.

It was the least you could do as a reward for causing the family such damage…first from leaving and joining a foreign religion following a massive rebellion to ease your very guilty conscious about alot of things you regret most horribly.

Lambert Weaf was one of the few servants actually comfortable around you and that was a rare thing given your current dour disposition.

Secondly in the causing damage to your family…your brother Gawen died in the Targaryan Restoration during the Stromland Marches…not by your hand but by one of the mercenary companies the restoration needed. Still apart of you still feels responsible for it all.

"You will give me a straight answer Castallin, who caused all of this?" You said sternly.

"The Faithful Inquisition my lord…they are out of control…and not just here I'm afraid, from the old ruins of the Rayne's and Tarbacks to Lannisport itself. They are running rampant across the entire Westerlands." Lambert said calmly.

Your good cousin Ryman Sarwyck walked in as Lambert explained and threw a head onto the floor. You looked at it as it thudded and rolled.

"Whom was that? Ryman?" You said.

"Well that was an Essosi Merchant from Volantis that had moved here to oversee a trading post for the Maegyr Family, that head is all that remains of the trading post itself…we're still trying to clean out the bodies that were burned alive in the Wearhouse." He said solemnly.

It was getting worse, the rebuilding of Riverspring had taken most of the year and you knew the new merchant quarters by the river was growing far faster then you anticipated. Who knew your local merchants and new arrivals would get along so well?

But alas…it was all going to the hells now. "Have you identified the point of origin for these attacks?"

Ryman shrugged. "Alister this is a Town with Two large septs and three smaller shrines in the old tavern districts. They could be striking from anywhere and the Town Watch barely has the resources for defending the East district and your strange fire-worshiping friends."

You facepalmed at that. "Ryman, they are not just my friends and foreigners looking for work they themselves came to live here and escape their own wars and troubles and came to me with homage to living under my protection…they are my subjects and yours."

You then stared at him with all your anger. "Do see that you give them proper respect."

He nodded. "Alas…I am in need of more men. The coffers provided arn't enough and most of the guards mustered out to go back to their shops and fields and all that is left is a gagle of lesser guardsman."

"Well I cannot provide such funds, we are in need of paying off the damages and restoring the worse of the damages." You said. "Its autumn harvest and I need to be sure the grain is full for the long winter to come."

He nodded. "Well then I can only delay the wider crisis to come, the riots will boil over and I will be forced to cut them down until the river itself is bloody…perhapse the banners and the Hedge Knights need to be called to-."

"Out of the question…if we escalate the situation we run the risk of the Inquisition flocking like vultures upon us. Lord Tyrion recognizes that they WANT us to play right into their hands to justify their radicalism and fearmongering." You said.

It was as always getting worse as the days grew longer and the faith they had in your protection grew ever more thinner. It was not to say you yourself did not try to mediate this disaster before it started and nip the flower of rebellion.

You did try to get the problems of state finished, but again, you had obligations to work and prioritize, be it your lordly duties.

Or your Priestly ones.

Oh you did not stop your duties just because you were lord, as leader of the R'hallorist community, you had to at the very least see to their spiritual needs, it was a duty you prided in as you learned heavily of the traditions it required…from the Nightfires to the funeral customs. It was something you attempted to balance.

With many failures in between. "We will play them into our hands they will soon grow careless and overconfident, and then they will fall to us."

"When will that come Lord Sarawyck, your people are dying, and they are running free singing the praise of the Seven that let them do it. " Ryman said.

"We are starting tonight." You said. "I will finish my affairs for the week and see to this matter personally, call upon and deputize many of my temple goers and find those among them who know how to use a blade…we will forge them into something that will break this mob."

Ryman and Lambert were both confused as you made a clear statement of escalation, "M'lord…you just explained earlier-."

"This is not a true escalation of tensions, we are going to forge your guards and the new trainees to deal with this matter…a mixed unit of sorts, both faiths wish to live in dignity do they not?" You said. "I mean to turn this division into unity and drive these heretical septions into the dirt. And we will do it in a way that even the faithful in our lands will respect."

It was a gamble, some barely spoke the language, and others barely knew which end of the blade to use.

But if given a common enemy…that could threaten and has already proven to be a threat to all of them, a solution of fire and steel could be found and exploited.

And a united Riverspring would be able to weather such a catastrophe no matter what form it took.

AN: The first look into the "On the Ground" POVs I hope to make, using characters from various bits of asoiaf media to show how the Targaryan Restoration and its aftermath effect certain regions.

First off, Aleister Sarawyck from the Westerlands, and his struggles as a lord with a foreign religion dealing with ethnoreligious tensions caused by the flight of people fleeing essos for the west.

Something that rarely happened in ASOIAF but I am assuming with the Dothraki gone, and Eastern wars starting up again in a way not seen since the century of blood, I'm assuming they have options on how to run.

Also, Fuck the Inquisition for being dicks.

Nice, any plans for Mor westford and Jeyne Greystone?
I belive Jeyne is in the Clear, probably going to be a Day in the Life of Kings Landing as she tries to be a single Mother in what is basically Gotham.

I'm probably going to use her as a way to show how Aegon gives normal people hope for a better day.

any plans for Mor westford
Mors is a Tricky Goose, he's probably chilled out a bit with the Influx of Actual Knights and professional soldiers at the wall and is trying his best to "Be a decent Role Model" so his rather violent behavior isn't going to cause a problem with the recruits.

As for what he's actually doing I'm gonna need the GM's help for that.

Probably I'll make a Char sheet before I make another Omake.

So...anything else you want to ask.

Jeyne is safe.

And actually now is a caretaker at the King's Landing Orphanage that Aegon and dany started.

The reason you didn't know about it... Well i wanted to make it a secret.

Also.... She knows Gendry. Hell she helped him get his job at Tobo Motts place in this timeline.

Mors and chill does not belong in the same sentence beyond describing the weather.

But you are correct.
So...anything else you want to ask.
All I ask is maybe give me what Tyrion thinks of the new religious minoraty in the West?

Is Viserys or the jester aware of her?
Viserys knows that his father had more kids, but they are none entities due to them... not being insane, important, or frankly... Wishing to become Relevent.

They have no deseire to be Targaryens or part of the family, because they don't consider themselves part of the family.

As for the Jester... Well he's the Joker, ill leave that to you.

Edit: my second choice, actually, but noone seems interested in going to the westerland, so,,,

[X]Dorne: Prince Doran has stated quite firmly, that there are not many problems in Dorne. And Oberny Agrees. Sure Lord Edric is the youngest Sword of the Morning in almost a thousand years at the age of 10, Lord Tor has said that the river is flowing again after unusually wet autumn… and then the Elephant in the Room. Arianne's mother is in Dorne. Everyone says not to trust her? But is it for politics? Or Personal reasons. You need a vacation... and Dorne can provide it.
[X]The Riverlands: Ahh the Riverlands…a place of chaos and disorder, first order of business, what is this shit you hear about Free Cities in Westeros…the Matter of Harrenhall's future as Lady Whent… is selling the castle, the titles and the lands… and the growing political disunity as a new small landowner class is calling for something called a Carta. Some kind of government document…and there is a massive revolt against the new Frey Lord's (Another Uprising of an elder Claimant) and a massive… What the fuck is this? The Peasants of The Blue Fork are claiming a free territory, and declared the Republic of Forks? Edmure, what the hell did you do!? What the hell are you doing!?

I mean your spy network is good, very good in fact.

Just not omnipotent to the point where we can stop rebellion with just words.

So... uh... I rolled the dice. Everyone but you, Dany, Arianne, Jaime and Barry the Bold and Aegon did not like traveling on dragon back. Mostly because we took too many people for three young dragons to carry comfortably and the distance traveled.

don't worry, since you are king, they will get used to it, and we're going to be able to rest for a few weeks in the Vale...

When not dealing with crazy shit.

The Royal Progress 3: Vale Progress
The Royal Progress 3: Vale Progress

You were sitting on the East road, looking in the distance towards the Mountian of the Moon and the Vale itself. "I have never seen a valley like this before." You muttered as you scratched Ebrion's scales. Everyone was happy to be off the dragon and marching around to the nearest keep on foot, and you stayed far behind them, with your dragon. "Have you?"

Ebrion blew out a puff of smoke and let it fly into the air. Making a ring, before it dissipated in the wind.

"Don't be a smartass." You said rubbing a scale softly

You allowed yourself to rest these days. It was quiet. Calm. The Vale itself from the air and below were quiet, humble, and forested. It was like the Andels themselves could not tame the wild beauty of the south of the mountains itself, and mealy took what they could control.

"Well, at the very least this will be productive." You said. "The Vale shouldn't be too complicated."

Well, that was a lie you were trying to convince yourself to believe…the situation was…complicated.

Jon Arryn was dead. That much was certain when you were planning to leave, and decided to make it your first stop. You needed to control the chaos and make sure Robert Arryn would stay not only safe, but alive when he inevitably returned home.

His mother was strange, confusing, and utterly unpredictable. She had seized power almost immediately and had made several attempts and vague threats to you about returning her son, appealing to your familial duties as a father, and then, to outright political demands for her son to be returned. You had seen the likes of it before. She wanted to make sure her son was safe before she did drastic political actions within the Vale, when she had full control.

This was a classic "I Rule though my son, my word is the law." Sort of regency… it's been done before, and it normally has terrible consequences for the kingdom at large. Civil War most commonly. Well either that or a clear dissolution of power and Usurpation.

Unfortunately for you, Westeros could not survive this type of chaos. Three wars in one lifetime were enough. And everyone was tired of it. You knew it, she knew it. All of Westeros knew it.

And she was trying to leverage those fear for power…and was challenging you to stop her.

But now was not the time to be thinking about that. You needed to rest right now. And talk to those you care about.

Who do you talk to? (The Court):
(Choose 2)
[]Arianne: She took to traveling by Dragon back rather well, considering she was with Dany the entire time. She was not uncomfortable, but she was also not entirely happy. She missed holding you, and you did too.
[]Dany: She is exhausted from the travels and hopes that you will have several weeks staying in one place, so she can rest and recuperate from the travel. She was not used to traveling like that for long distances or time. She also says that she has a new song she wants to share with you.
[]Aegon: He smiles. That bastard loves riding his dragon so much that he doesn't even care about… well the discomfort of his other companions.
[]Bonifar He looked at the dragons, stroking the scales gently as he looked deeply into your face. "Out of all the miracles in the world… Dragon's coming back wasn't the most unexpected. It was you."
[]Oberyn: He will freely admit, that while the experience was worthwhile…he would have trouble going with the dragon again. There is also a report that he wishes to talk to you about.
[]Jon Snow: He is quiet. That much was certain when you rested, but he has something he wishes to speak to you about. Something that is clearly… weighing heavily on his mind.
[]Sansa Stark: She was in awe, staring at you always when she thought you weren't looking. And she had finally gathered the courage to talk to you.

Who do you Talk to? (The Guard):
(Choose 2)
[] Barristan Selmy (Lord Commander): He coughed. "I take it you wish to see me about… arrangements with the local lord's to be camping on their lands?"
[] Brynden Tully: His old bones were quivering from the traveling. "Solid Earth where men belong. Oh your Grace, what is it?"
[] Jaime Lannister: Jaime looked at you "Next time…I'm sitting in the Saddle with you."
[] Arys Oakheart: Arys was quiet, trying to not throw up again…oh my, you guess he had a hard stomach to please.
[] Mandon Moore: The Silent knight finally spoke for the first time in your memory, to you. That wasn't a grunt of some sort. "Hm. It seems you finally remembered I can talk."

Where do you go in the Vale?:

[]Runestone: The Royces have always been honorable and steadfast members of the Vale nobility, and they have always been the first line of defense when it comes to the Hill Tribe incursions. Going there would be a stark political statement. You wanted soldiers and masters of arms.

[]The Sunderlands: House Sunderlands are notorious for piracy of the North, their strange customs, and otherwise hatred for all Eastern Ships. You need to harness that and use it for the Good of Westeros.

[]The Fingers: The Old Keep of Pyter Baelish, and one of the only physical legacies that could be ascertained from his flight…mayhapse a visit will open something of the mind of Littlefinger.

[]Gulltown: The Seat of…House Arryn of Gulltown, the people the Graftons are trying to get their home back from… are a bit more mindful and trade-oriented than their martial cousins, and they have deep ties to Bravvos. Troubling but realistic. The Graftons have been setting their sights on at least buying much of the city to try to force them out. So… there is a great potential… for horrible things to happen, and you need to stop it before it gets worse.

[]The Eyrie: You need to See Jon Arryn off. There is also the very real possibility that you can reign in Lysa with a show of force, rather than letting it fester. The Eyrie also has a very magical aura about it. In a way that few places in Westeros have.

AN: Enjoy, Plan format.
