Stark Transcendent (Iron Man/Marvel Quest)

[X] Hide out in your Garage : Right now, what you really need is a little peace and quiet and some time alone with your gadgets and tools, not people yammering at you over your miraculous survival. You have enough shit to deal with.

Why do some people want to hide out in the Garage? We can do that later, if we do it now we lose initiative and the ability to use the publics shock at us getting free to get stuff done.
Mostly likely so we can get our powah armor. But yeah, I agree we should take advantage of the PR right now, so I'll vote for that.

[X] Go to Stark Industries : You've had a change of heart, and you can't rest on your laurels while your weapons are ending up in the hands of insurgents and worse. You need to put a stop to that as soon as possible.

I don't want Tony to stop selling weapons!

That's why I want him to hide in the garage, to make better weapons!
We won't. We'll just focus on selling other things. Weapons are good, but they will become a secondary priority.

BoSPaladin said:
What will the primary priority be?
Flying cars.

His grandfather fucking made one in the 40s. 'Bout time the future to come along.

...though I realize that this would help terrorists more if they can buy their own kamikaze vehicle at the local dealiship.

Curse you terrorists! Why you have to ruin my future.

Such as? Public opinion means basically nothing substantive to Tony Stark's control over his company, they don't dictate or influence his actions. Disarming Stark Industries will be frontpage news next week, or next month, or next year.

Seizing the initiative here doesn't actually get the things done that we want.
Public opinion always matters. Also, if we wait people will start to ask what we are planning. If we don't tell them they'll start preparing defenses, if we do they'll freak out. Not to mention if we just wait an head into seclusion people might think we've been damaged by our experiences and maybe not suitable at this time to run a large corporation.

No, waiting is not a good idea. Better to do it now.

Alternatively stark walks into his lab and then walks out with an Arc reactor design. I mean the idea that he needs to look at his dads notes to create a scaled up version or one suited to mass power production is utter bullshit.

His small design works to power the iron man suit there is absolutely no bloody reason that can't be used for power generation in exactly the same manner you don't need to scale it up at all you just build hundreds of the bloody things and run them in parallel as I said previously.

No one is going to give stark shit if he comes out of this with a massive 'win' in terms of future projection for money making and it means that the weapons division can be put on hold with out it crashing the stock value because investors will have to consider the actual potential value of something that can under cut the entire rest of the energy market trivially which means billions of dollars in terms of potential revenue.

This, because i came here to play Ironman Stark, not business mogul Stark. I want us ready to launch a replusor beam into the face of Obi, since he might go crazy if we start investigating the whole mess too soon. Remember, Obi won't be happy to be found out, hence it be good to have some protection before running around investigating stuff.

We already know the Arc reactor works. There is one keeping us alive at the moment. Besides, we don't need to announce exactly what we are doing. It would be a press release. Just say we are shifting from Weapons to Robotics and Energy. The details can come later.

We can build the Iron Man suit afterwards. No one is saying we shouldn't. And we can't attack Obi without a reason. He's one of Tony's oldest friends and one of his most trusted advisors.

The current arc reactor he has is a temporary and shitty design built a cave and hand crafted.

He needs to design a mass producible variant and the accompanying plant equipment for it what he has is a working prototype that's not really 'good' enough.

Plus there is more that Stark can work in his lab and I expect Roarian to give us nice and juicy options to work from.

Which we can do later.

Who? Who will start preparing defences? Who will expect Tony Stark to do anything at all?
Planning? The most complicated things Tony Stark plans involve expensive alcohol, expensive women and expensive cars.

The evidence leading to Obadiah is gone it was gone almost before it appeared - and we pretty much saw to the rest of it. Running around making loud noises - that is what makes them ask what we are planning. That is what initiates the backup plan to remove Stark.

And the company is going to be far less inclined to oust him for taking a week of doctor-mandated recovery, than if he calls a press conference and starts being dramatic with a cheeseburger.

He doesn't even know who the real enemy is yet.
Indeed Stark is a showman, no one expects him to do anything quietly. I'd like stark to carry out an investigation on the down low once he's had time to work with Jarvis on something useful towards that end.

Well the Board of Directors for one thing. They may think him a drunk, but they know he's also a genius. And from a meta perspective SHIELD is less likely to be worried if we declare to be stopping weapons production temporarily then if we vanish.

But I see that I'm not going to convince anybody. I withdraw from the argument.

Why will they do that? They only do it in movie verse because he was shutting down the weapons division, we aren't doing that yet. This is literally what does stark do as the first thing when he gets back home.

No the first response won't be to kick him as ceo.

Hey guys, for every one that wants to investigate the weapons leak I suggest holding off for now. The reason for this is because going straight to a press conference or shutting down the weapons division weakens Tony's hand and actually makes things harder for him to uncover the truth.

Going to the lab gives Tony time to create super tech and work with his AI Jarvis. I would like us to try and come up with a plan whilst working with Jarvis to help uncover where the weapons shipments went missing and who is distributing them. I expect this to be much easier if we do this on the sly.

Tony stark's character has always been a braggart and show man, no one will expect him to do this quietly which is why it will catch them by surprise so effectively if we go this route.

As for plausible deniability of what stark was doing in his lab we show case an improved model of his current arc reactor which should be child play for Stark to create

We can some time to make a new miniature arc reactor to put into our chest, potentially start work on the Iron Man project, and it means we'll have had time to mull over the most ideal way to approach the 'selling to terrorists' problem.

Apparently i didn't write clearly enough.. What i meant was that by investigating we might gather Obi's attention, and to protect his secrets he might kill us, as such have something like the Ironman suit as a self-defence / highly advance prosthetic to protect us would be useful.

"So what are you working on now, Stark?"
"Well, ever since Iraq, I've been thinking. None of it would have happened if I had some proper body armour. So I figured I'd make some."
"So, you went and made a powered armoured suit, with lasers and micro missiles that can fly?!"
"Yeah." Shrug, "Body armour."

Yep. Tony Stark channels Cave Johnson. This'll go well :p
Nope, it's a highly advanced Prosthetic, the fact that it can shoot lasers and micro missiles is just a coincidence.
