Stark Transcendent (Iron Man/Marvel Quest)

[X] Hide out in your Garage : Right now, what you really need is a little peace and quiet and some time alone with your gadgets and tools, not people yammering at you over your miraculous survival. You have enough shit to deal with.

Hmmm I'm tempted to get stark to fix his arc reactor before it gives him toxic poisoning.

He has plenty of time till that becomes a problem. Not to mention that he needs access to his fathers model of the future city before he can design the new element.

[X] Go to Stark Industries : You've had a change of heart, and you can't rest on your laurels while your weapons are ending up in the hands of insurgents and worse. You need to put a stop to that as soon as possible.

Prologue Results
Also, these are the notes I kept on the results of the prologue (also updated in the character sheet.)

Prologue Results

Fates

Death
The Phoenix Force
Inhumanity

Possessions :

Chest-mounted Electromagnet with Miniature Arc Reactor (Poor Quality)
The formula for Solution 4, 'Pyre', an efficient and volatile nerve agent that works against Mammals.

Favor :

Ho Yinsen
Involved Yinsen in your plans. (+1)
Used a brutal escape method. (-2)
Saved Yinsen's life. (+1)
Total (0 - Neutral)

Perks :

Ruthless : You have shown a willingness to employ excessive force when dealing with your enemies, which allows you some much harsher ways of dealing with them in the future. This can backfire, however, if more passive allies find out about your methods.

Guilty : You have used tactics that would be seen as objectionable under the law, and must safeguard that the truth does not come out to the wrong people. This makes it harder to make genuine allies, though acting in good faith can eliminate this.

[X] Go to Stark Industries : You've had a change of heart, and you can't rest on your laurels while your weapons are ending up in the hands of insurgents and worse. You need to put a stop to that as soon as possible.

[X] Get in Contact with Yinsen.

Least we can do for him is set him and his village up in the US, someplace safer for them.

So, what are we going to announce. A shut down of all heavy and advanced weapons productions, an audit to find out where the leak is, and a gradual transfer from being a Primarily Weapons Manufacturer to something else.

[X] Get in contact with Rhodey

We don't need to tell him about Pyre, but the whole "bad guys are using Stark Tech and we need to stop it" is a valid topic of discussion. We can pitch ideas at Rhodey on how to avoid this becoming too big of a furball with the DoD, because he's got better insight to their minds.

Also, we can then proceed to get wonderfully drunk and sing off-key with him.

The hidden Nick Fury part is an issue. If Tony Stark starts making the Iron Man armor, that combined with that SHIELD knows Tony or Yinsen made the chemical weapon, would they erroneously think Tony is making WMDs or has lost his shit and is a threat?
Another thing to consider here, and it is perhaps a bit of a hint, is that SHIELD found out about Pyre somehow. They knew to look for it, even...

- [X] Who is selling my weapons to terrorists : People you don't want getting your weapons are getting them. Even if you put a stop to arms dealers from people getting Stark weapons they would still not solve the problem.

@Roarian, how big a hit would Stark Enterprises get if Tony did what he did in canon by having the company stop selling all weapons? How big are the non-military contracts of the company? I am pretty sure Star had a hand in the energy sector and maybe medical if Alldrich Killian wanted to go to Stark with his biotech project.

In movie canon, both Tony & Obi think a 40% drop, and iirc the real drop was a little more than that still. SI is like Lockheed or something, it's got a large military connection.

if the drop is going to be 40% we're gonna want the military throwing everything they can into helping with the audit. Hell when we first run into shield we might want to invite them in too.

The best bet to get the military on-board is to talk to Rhodey, I think.

Why do some people want to hide out in the Garage? We can do that later, if we do it now we lose initiative and the ability to use the publics shock at us getting free to get stuff done.

Decompression isn't required to stop rash actions. We control him, thus we can stop them.

And we can build the Iron Man suits later. We need to capitalize on the current fluid state our reappearance will have caused. It won't last long, and if we want to make any changes this is the best time to do so.
