It would because the Sith are not the only Darksiders around. And the Jedi are not stupid they wouldn't name someone a Sith if they weren't one. And no you really can't be a real Sith and not be a monster. At that point you are nothing more than an imposter that got lucky because the actual Sith were too busy to kill you or you are just barely got any of teachings and think you are a Sith. All that is irrelevant because the Jedi are about to find out that their completely delusional "fact" that the Sith were wiped out is wrong they are going to start looking for any Sith connections. Something that name and its history will count as. The last thing we need is the Jedi slowing down and interfering in our business when we are trying to stay solvent as a company. It is literally just making trouble for ourselves for no good reason.
Ignoring the whole Sith doesn't equal evil debate, i don't think the Jedi will care even if they notice I don't know a lot about Star Wars but I believe they were caught blindsided most of the time regarding the Sith at least in the movies though I could be wrong. But anyway I very much doubt the Jedi will cause a big problem even if they do notice they at most will send a Jedi to check on us and then leave.

Forgot to vote.
You realize that it isn't anything recent and the Council of Knowledge hasn't sent a Jedi Shadow in a thousend years. The name and its origin are at the moment only a historical footnote in both chases.
I doesn't matter if it is recent the moment the Sith are revealed the Jedi began a very intensive investigation of everything that has it footnote or not. You are seriously underestimating the level of paranoia the Jedi have to the Sith. They spent all 10 years between Episode 1 and the start of the Clone Wars looking for anything and everything on the Sith even when they found nothing they kept looking. The war is the only reason they stopped.

No they caught blindsided because they were looking for the old Sith not the new Banite Sith. And because our Sith Lord is very much an old Sith that would get a major check. And even a single Jedi going to investigate our planet and shipyard will not only cause delay but is the kind of bad press we cannot afford. Also no the Sith are very much Evil it is the darkside that doesn't equal evil.

The update said that the company was named after the shipyard, which was named in honor of Lord Vulkan before the Ruusan Reformation, meaning the name has been there for almost 1000 years. So no, the name is not a recent development.

Seriously? Dude the Sith are revealed recently not that the name is recent where did you even get that from. And the Name is from the New Sith Wars as in the last most bloody and destructive wars the galaxy has seen until the clone wars. This guy's was fighting during the time of the Jedi Lords which is the last 100 years of that 1000 year conflicts. As in the time where the Sith had wrecked so much that it threw the Republic and the galaxy into a dark ages with spears and other medieval weapons being the primary weapons. The Jedi would remember all of this and again any investigation into anything to do with the Sith even being named after one will bring attention to us. Which is only bad because it will delay production and carries the risk of bad publicity.

i somehow doubt that the Jedi would have a perfect record of all of the Sith Lords of a piece of history from a point of time that is ancient by the point from which this story takes place. You seem to hold the Jedi up as some all knowing organization that will know the most ancient and trivial of knowledge when they lost and forgot important parts of their history all the time. This wasn't a member of the Sith council. This was one Sith ruling over one planet a thousand plus years ago. And this guy according to the last chapter was known for surrendering to the republic to save his people's lives...Its not like we named the company after a member of the dark council or a major big bad evil Sith. And the Jedi would most likely, if they ever came to our system and wanted to know what the name means, go huh interesting and move on.

What you are saying would happen in my mind is like somebody a thousand plus years from now naming a small car company after the mayor of a German town in WW2 and then the full night of the CIA coming down on them for trying to restart a new Nazi empire. Why would they care, how would they know and who would take offense to it?

The classical Design is the boring but practical one. It won't wow people but it's a safe pick.

While true, our company needs business and it is needed fast. And I'd argue that's precisely why we do need to wow people, why we ought to make a ship that is truly our brainchild, so people go "Whoa, this looks amazing!" and would buy our products over the other regular shipbuilder, perhaps even be willing to invest in us to see what else we end up making.

I doesn't actually match our own. For one because they have been around for so long it is far longer before things are forgotten. And the fact that a Stith surrendered for what is considered humane reasons would be flagged as an anomaly and well documented. A 1000 years in star wars is nowhere near enough for people to forget they still remember horrors and wars from the very start of the Republic a thousand years is nothing. And again the Jedi will fully check out everything to do with the Sith no matter how minor it is because that is what they did canonically after Episode 1 they spent ten years looking for any an all connections to the Sith and only a galactic war stop their private investigation and eventually led them to using special teams to find the Sith (they succeeded by the way but Sidious killed them before they could report back). But any investigation will hurt us if we were more stable it wouldn't matter but we are literally on the edge of ruin any and all extra problems need to be avoided and taking a Sith Lord's Name as a point of pride is a problem waiting to happen. You can not compare our own world to the star wars universe for one it is very different and two the Jedi are not a secular organization they are a major religious order that is very much dedicated to the eradication of their enemy the Sith to the point they have hunted every rumor of Sith and killed them since the end of the New Sith Wars. It is why they thought they were extinct they spent all their time after making sure. It wasn't just Bane that went out after Russan and started killing surviving Sith the Jedi did the same.

I assume people are immediately voting for making a new frame, somewhat against Pinagg's advice, due to the fact that we have Frame 2. I disagree with the sentiment, because I think stretching to apply our stats to all situations is kind of gamey and, in many cases, actually suboptimal.

Jedi Lords are cool, so
[X] "He was a Jedi-Lord, the last of the Temaris Chapter. He led many daring raids and offensive from this world until he was killed – or so the legend says."

I strongly disagree with you here. For one, even if the Jedi would look for a so small footnote it wouldn't be anything that would lead to a stop of the construction. More likely they would march up to your character's father to chat a bit with him. Secondly, it is a thousand years ago and there are many more prominent leads they would follow. And thirdly you view of the Jedi and the Star Wars galaxy is a bit too absolute in all matters. We see plenty of things that had connections to the Sith and weren't much cared for by the Jedi. For example, a Mercenary Company that was still sworn to the Sith and actually Sith artifacts on display in Palpatine's office. If the Jedi don't do something against such things, I don't think they will come down like the thunder of god for a simple name that has a connection to an obscure sith from over a thousand years ago.

In the end, if you choose Jedi or Sith, it is mostly there to give a tie in for the name. I thought you and the others would like to have a connection for the name in-universe after the last discussion. It's a bit of fluff, don't think too much about it. This is me, given you options to shape a part of the world.

What this comes down to is this: Is the QM going to go out of his way to screw us over right out of chargen because of the results of what's the next best thing to a flavour vote?
