I don't think the courts are going to have her work for us specifically however.
At any rate, that fighter is a flying coffin we wouldn't want her to pilot even if we hired her. We'll get to see the possible upgrades and price for them, but a more modern fighter will probably ultimately be better.
We deployed first in formation before they spotted us. How the hell did that group get to fire at the Great Fox first before being intercepted? That was the whole point of getting that gunship, intercepting BEFORE they get a chance to damage the Great Fox.
And then the rest moved in to commit mass suicide on our squad.
On larger encounters, I think you may want to revise things a bit...
[x] Accept the enemy's surrender (gain the fighter craft) -[x] Turn her over to the authorities (gain extra cash bounty)
Guys she's a crook which means that'll cause Fox to have that -5 to his rolls? Remember, that's the reason we didn't get the other guy. I really don't think recruiting her right now is a good idea.

Thankfully, this is a "practice" fight, so to speak, so things are not that serious at that point. I'll take your feedback into consideration when I update the combat mechanics.

If I may make a suggestion, you could automate fights as foes appear and get shot down and then pause when there's a command decision to take or something unexpected appear. May not work for all fights, but it would do to imitate a 'standard' stage from the game.

[x] Accept the enemy's surrender (gain the fighter craft)
-[x] Turn her over to the authorities (gain extra cash bounty)
"Stand down everyone," you ordered. "We are going to accept her surrender."
You then looked over to where Maxine's and Nichoe's Arwings are. "Maxine, Nichole, this order includes you two. I have this all under control."
You can tell by the look on their faces on the communicator that Maxine and Nichole are really confused by this at this point about your actions and orders. This next statement should clear things up...
"Hannah, Rover. We are going to bring the prisoner's fighter into the hanger and have her step out of it. When she does that, I want the two of you to escort her into one of the empty rooms in the ship and keep an eye on her so she will not do any funny business until we can turn her over to the authorities. You got all of that?"
"Yes, sir!"
"Crystal clear, Fox. I will make sure that the prisoner will not cause too much trouble aboard the ship while you are... busy."
"Okay," you continued. "I am counting on you two."
You quickly put the communicator to broadcast mode directed at the surrendering pirate fighter.
"Alright you. I accept your surrender, but you will do as I say, or else you are going to be turned into space dust. Got it?"
"Yes... sir." The pirate replied.
"Good. Now these two lovely ladies will escort you back to my ship. You will do whatever they demand of you. You will not cause any trouble or grief for me or else you will regret it. Got that?"
"Yes..."
"Glad to hear that. Now, be a good kid and follow them."
And with that, the pirate fighter followed Rover's ship to the Great Fox, with Hannah keeping a very close eye on the prisoner.
After the two of them started to escort the prisoner, you then turn the communicator to the Great Fox, bringing ROB on screen.
"ROB, the battle is over. Have the Great Fox launch all of the salvaging drones and see if you can find anything useful."
"Affirmative. Launching drones."
You can see four drones zooming from the bay of Great Fox and into the battle site to start collecting valuable salvage.
"One more thing, ROB," you continued. "I have a prisoner who will be on board soon. I want you to guide Hannah and Rover to a secure room and keep an eye on the prisoner."
"Affirmative, Fox."
You sighed as you regain your breath for a second before turning the communicator to Maxine and Nichole.
"Maxine. Nichole. The two of you will join me in investigating that small abandoned station over there that the pirates were using as a base. The pirates were here for some time and I suspect that they have quite a few supplies that we can help ourselves to."
The two pilots said their affirmatives as the three of you piloted the Arwings towards the abandoned base to see what is left for salvage. You got to admit, you felt that Nichole and Maxine has grown a bit ever since you first saw them. And this battle kind of proves their potential. What wonders could you expect from the two of them in the future?
(Maxine: Rank increased to Green!)
(Nichole: Rank increased to Green!)
After-battle loot roll: 54
An hour later, you and the two girls managed to strip the entire "base" clean, mostly thanks to Maxine being a fast runner who can move things around quickly. To tell the truth, there was not much here in the first place. Just a couple crates of life-support supplies and a single computer module that you could possibly offer up for sale or use for yourself. Although you did find a spare Nova bomb that was lying about. You think that the pirates had a plan for it, but you do not know what was the plan, since none of their ships can fire the thing in the first place…
(3 Units of Life support supplies gained)
(1 Units of Computer Module gained)
(1 Nova Bomb gained)
Drone 1: 38
Drone 2: 84
Drone 3: 33
Drone 4: 38
The situation with the drones' salvaging was not all that better. The Venomian Invader MK.1s and the Scout Pods are not that sturdy in the first place, so when they were destroyed, they tend to leave behind only scraps and other bits of pieces here and there for you to gather up. Although one drone did manage to salvage a whole working weapons system from the wreckage of one of the Scout Pods, to your surprise…
(7 Units of Scrap Metal gained)
(1 Units of Space Weapons System Module gained)
With everyone and the drones back safely aboard the Great Fox, you had ROB pilot the ship down to one of the docks at Corneria to turn over the pirate over to authorities for a bounty payout...
Bounty Size: 13
From her voice over the communicator, you can suspect that the pirate is a female of very young age. What you did not expect is that her actual age is quite a bit lower than you ever expected. Heck, from what you have seen when she was lead out of her room by the Cornerian authorities, the Macbethian Vixen can't be older than eighteen! However, despite being so young, she looks like she has seen a lot of action and danger already, judging from the scars on her arms and the tattoos that she sports all over her body.
"Umm… Fox?" Nichole asked nervously to you. "Do you know what will happen to her?" It seemed that the sight of having someone younger than her being lead away to an uncertain fate kind of shook her up at the moment, even though she was indeed eager to shoot down the pirate's craft not a day ago.
"Well," you replied. "I am sure that, even though she is a pirate, she will be granted a trial. After that, I am not so sure. Typically, what they do with pirates is that they'll sentence them to either very long terms in a hellhole of a prison somewhere. But given her age, maybe they'll show leniency to her. Who knows at this point…"
You did her best to cheer her up, but you can tell that Nichole would maybe need some more time to get over this fact…
The bounty payout for the pirate was not that comforting either. Due to the young age of the pirate and the fact her criminal history was virtually unknown, the amount that was paid to you was a mere pittance, but at least it is something, right? Not to mention you get to keep the ship the pirate had…
You had reported the results of the mission to the original poster of the job. A few minutes later, you received a notification that the reward money was added to your account…
(Mission Accomplished!) (800 LD gained!)
Secondary Reward: 94
There was another notification that was given to you soon after you received your payment. The note said that there was an extra reward waiting for you in one of the hangers nearby, with a password to access the locked hanger. With this knowledge in mind, you had Hannah and Maxine accompany you to investigate this extra reward…
"Woah," Maxine gasped as she saw the ship that is in front of her. "The ship's hull was so shiny and brand new!"
"Indeed," Hannah added. "Whoever gave us this Star-Defender light patrol corvette must have quite a bit of spare change in their pockets. Sure, the corvette's on the bargain-bin side of things, but a new ship like this is not that cheap by any means. Someone must have really hated those pirates to give us this for such a small job."
"I agree," you spoke up. You then spied a small piece of paper attached to the side of the hull. "Hmm? What's this?"
You walked up to the corvette and took piece of paper off the hull and read it out loud.
"'Nice work on defeating those pirates! Here is something sweet for you! I look forward to giving you even more sweets! From, your secret admirer!' There is a heart written down here at the end. And it does not say who it is from, other than a 'secret admirer'..."
"Sounds like a trap," Hanna spoke up. "Do you trust whoever happens to give us this corvette?"
You shook your head. "It is suspicious, but I guess if someone went through all of this trouble to get me this, then I guess it would be rude to reject it. I'll have it taken aboard and ROB will have it examined for any traps or other unwanted… things."
Maxine and Hannah nodded and after that, you had the Star-Defender towed into Great Fox's hanger where ROB double and triple-checked the ship, from top to bottom, for anything suspicious or out of the ordinary.
"No abnormalities found. The ship is cleared of any suspicious intentions." ROB reported.
You sighed as ROB gave his report. It seemed that the benefactor is genuine, but you do wonder who it was at any rate as you added the corvette into your growing fleet…
With everything related to the pirate-hunting job all squared away, you slumped into the command chair as you reviewed a list of things to buy. So accustomed into this routine that you have grown into by now that you almost forgotten that it is the end of the week, so there is a bit more time to take care some some more time-consuming items over the weekend…
It is Capricorn 13th, 5 ALW. You currently have 7680 LD in your account.
[] Select the pilots to hire, the ships to buy, and the supplies to also buy. You can list out the ships to sell. As this is the end of the week. Extra options are available.

Gray Market Access: Gain access to gray market missions. Not really illegal, but controversial.
I Know of a Friend: Every Buying/Hiring period, there will be a chance that he will refer to an extra potential hiree that will not be available otherwise. No guarantee that they'll be clean, but they will be good at what they do at least.
Fox: He's still around? Well, I guess it would be smart of him to not cause trouble on Corneria while looking for employment. His skills might be valuable, but will it be worth having a probable criminal on the Great Fox? Who knows.
Level: Green
Hiring Cost: 75 LD
Demanded Salary: 50 LD per week, starting at end of first full week after date of hiring.

Calmness under fire: +7 to Combat Rolls when the squad she is in is damaged in any way.
"Stupid Venomian Junk!": -10 to rolls when piloting Venomian-made ships.
Fox: Hmm… "Zonessian Swimmer and Diver-turned pilot looking for steady employment." I guess she used to have a job at Zoness where she lived all of her life until Andross arrived and polluted her planet to its… unpleasant state. Poor girl, she must have not been able to recover her livelihood even after the war since Zoness is still recovering from its state and Corneria is not exactly a place where a swimmer or diver could make a comfortable living outside of maybe the sports industry. She is also on the cheap side as a result. I guess if we need more pilots, she is an option to consider...

Femme Fatale: Every round, 1d100 > 90 to inflict triple damage to enemy troopers, additional hilarity when interacting with male characters.
Powerful Enemies: Somehow ticked off someone quite powerful on Macbeth. Expect bounty hunters to periodically attack Star Fox.
Fox: I can't really dig up much information about her, but from what I can tell, she is a soldier-for-hire from Macbeth specializing in all sorts of work for anyone who can pay her, from guarding starships, boarding starships, general on-foot combat, assassinations, kidnapping, bodyguarding, you name it. And she apparently is very good at it. Right now, she is in Corneria , offering her services at a rather large discount. The reasons are not yet clear, but she claims that someone on Macbeth has unjustly placed a bounty on her head for some reason. She looks like a professional, but is she really worth placing a target on the Great Fox for harboring her?

Shields: 4
Evasiveness: 22
Special Abilities and Traits:
-Small Weapons: +10 Attack, -1 Damage vs Units of Leadership Value of 2 or greater
Fox: Stupid pieces of junk. Do I even want them in my fleet? They'll only be good for scrap unless I take the time to upgrade them. Or maybe there is a dealer out there specializing in such things...
Class: Fighter (Leadership Value: 1)
Price: 1600 LD
Attack: 30
Damage: 3
Range: Very Short
Attacks: 1
Shields: 6
Evasiveness: 35
Special Abilities and Traits:
-Small Weapons: +10 Attack, -1 Damage vs Units of Leadership Value of 2 or greater
Fox: I must say, if there is a need for a bunch of fighters to pad my numbers, then I guess I can help out Corneria by buying these obsolete but still functional fighters. Although they would need quite a bit in upgrades to get them up to modern standards.
Class: Gunboat (Leadership Value: 1)
Price: 1000 LD
Attack: 30
Damage: 3
Range: Short
Attacks: 2
Shields: 5
Evasiveness: 20
Special Abilities and Traits:

Fox: A typical Venomian product: cheap but weak. Do I even want them around? Unless I upgrade them, putting pilots in these things would be a probable death sentence in a real fight. I would be better off getting better ships until I can make the investment.
Class: Gunboat (Leadership Value: 1)
Price: 1600 LD
Attack: 33
Damage: 3
Range: Short
Attacks: 3
Shields: 8
Evasiveness: 26
Special Abilities and Traits:
-Clear the skies!: +1 Damage vs Units of Leadership Value of 1 or Less
Fox: These gunboats sure is something aren't they? The one I had took out those pirates quite quickly. I wonder if I should get another one for the team? Although I should keep in mind the expenses, for we still need to find some more high paying jobs to pay back the debt...
Class: Fighter (Leadership Value: 1)
Price: 1050 LD
Attack: 26
Damage: 3
Range: Very Short
Attacks: 1
Shields: 5
Evasiveness: 29
Special Abilities and Traits:
-Small Weapons: +10 Attack, -1 Damage vs Units of Leadership Value of 2 or greater
Fox: Ah, the ACTUAL standard fighter that the forces of Andross used during the Lylat Wars. These were modern for their time, but like most Venomian products, they relied more on quantity over quality, so these fighters still pale in comparison to their Cornerian counterparts in every conceivable metric of performance. Still, it is better than the Invader MK.1, so there is something to brag about, if only a little...

Range: Medium
Attacks: All
Ammo: Shockwave Missiles
Max Capacity: 6
Uses: 2
Unleashes a pair of destructive Shockwave Anti-Small Craft Missiles to devastate all foes in a squad.
Fox: So, this is the ship that the mysterious benefactor have gifted to Star Fox. It is on the cheaper side of patrol craft and corvettes, but it is still quite useful for security and combat work that the fighters and gunboats can not handle by themselves, making it quite popular for small-time mercenary or impoverished security forces. Although it does require more crew to work the ship than a fighter or gunboat, so that is something worth noting...
-Boarding Craft: Transports up to 15 troopers for boarding action
Fox: If I want to start boarding and capturing ships, I could either buy a shuttle and hire troopers, or I can hopefully find something to install on the Great Fox to facilitate boarding action, and then hire troopers. The latter of the two options would be quite expensive, so I guess it will be shuttles for now if I want to....

Special Abilities and Traits:

Price: 600 LD each
Attack: 5
Damage: 1
Range: Very Short
Attacks: 1
Shields: 2
Evasiveness: 25
Special Abilities and Traits:
-Mining/Scavenging: +1 1d100 dice roll for looting after battles

+Scan Enemy Squad
+Detect Invisible Ships lvl. 1
+Paint Enemy Squad lvl. 1
+Emergency Shield Regeneration lvl. 1
Fox: A basic mobile science laboratory, if I was not mistaken. In the past, Slippy did all of his work aboard the Great Fox, but he took all of his tools with him when he left, so Star Fox is without any kind of science and technology support. Getting some sort of a lab up and running can quickly put Star Fox on the right path...

So there is this dealer for Paradise MacBeth who is being brought up by a rival company and therefore, they are having quite a sellout on their entire inventory, including their entire stock of Cloud Hawks! These things are real badasses in comparison to fighters from the Lylat Wars, except the Arwings of course, and they are practically giving them away! What do you say, Fox? =====
Man, did this post took a while. I hope it is to your liking.
The next post will be delayed as I need to do some bookkeeping with this quest and well as some more combat mechanics restructuring, so you all have plenty of time to discuss this through...
So buy the cloud hawks and sell the venomian invader? Also can we sell the spare material like the computer module we got or are those for something else?
Also maybe grab Lelina if we grab the cloud hawks. Not Gray though, one we don't need the trouble and two she is asking for 350 a week which is more than our current crew combined I believe.
The only dude available is going to clash a lot with Fox. We just happen to have the dice wanting to have us be the only guy on the Great Fox for now. I wonder what Bill and Katt are up to?
