Hmm. You know, making a Yggdrasil/World Tree is also a somewhat classy fuck-you to the Nazis and their nordic influences, like Fenja and Menja, or the late Allfather.

On the other hand...Nazi association.

On the third hand, a reason to kick Nazi ass! Possibly dangle them or their dead bodies from the tree to serve as a warning to others.

Amusing, working with organics will probably terrify Piggot more than the metal tower would.

....Shit, if we make it out of organics, Queen Shaper/Panacea can make the entire fortress her bitch. That's a pretty glaring flaw.

Panaceas is a Striker, a squishy Striker. If she tries something we can just warp her in plastic and portal her home.

It's still a very glaring flaw that anyone could exploit.

Moreover, it's the kind of flaw where people will see it and think, "We can do something about this!" And they'll try, because they have no other choice. In fact, probably pair Panacea with Vista to work past that squishy Striker limitation.

Which Queen Shaper will encourage and help with, because hey, using power for more than healing!

Perhaps most all, because we'd have to react to it, we're pretty much admitting the vulnerability is there and dispelling an illusion of our mystique. We're not completely invincible, we can be brought down, and we can be forced to react. It changes the dynamic from terror-do-not-poke and takes it to the first step of an open war.

Can someone put together a vote for the HA/LO Tree House above the Bay? It should be safe from most Terror Drones, as long as Terror Drone #whatever-number-behemoth-is doesn't decide he should fly... Like that ONE cycle...

Unless of course QA's control of her domain trumps Panacea's power.

[X]Ignore them and keep building. They aren't shard-hosts, aren't threats, and are thus completely irrelevant.

---[X]Ooh, and you could link it to a thermal laser while you're at it. Any threats it spots could be eliminated without requiring your direct intervention.

Refer to earlier references of lack of ability to control biological material other than yourself.

Yggdrasil would look, feel, and appear to be a tree. But it wouldn't be a tree, and it won't stand up to really, really close observation. Of course, if anyone gets inside and tries to scan it, the tree's defenses will probably have already engaged them. So it's rather unlikely anyone will ever realize it isn't real.

Er, okay? But it isn't that hard.

Stick an organic tendril from the Host to the base. It is now technically part of the Host.

It's not. Alivaril weighed in on this. We lose ability to manipulate things once they detach.

You can create simple organisms (viruses, infections, bugs) and detach them from your body to unleash them upon the world, but you may no longer manipulate them after that. You will need the assistance of Maker (Nilbog) if you wish to create more complex minions.

Though, it is good to know it will only look like a tree.

For that matter this is the only was we could make an organic tree to begin with.
I just assumed we were making it synthetic. An actual giant tree wouldn't be able to do a quarter of the shit we'd want it to do, and not being able to freely manipulate it would be a pain.

As Shaper shows, being organic is not nearly the same as being flimsy. Your brain runs on organics, is it really hard to believe that equivalent technology could be made using organics?

I know this is not relevant to the current vote but what is stopping us from re-attaching to make modifications?

It's a Manton Limit, it's designed to stop this kind of stuff.

Though the tree in the picture doesn't look sufficiently Fairy like. I'll have to look for a better one later.

I have an idea! How about a Treeship from Tenchi Muyo, its both a Tree and super computer. It makes Queen Objective weep for it can't do it at all.

Can't find good picture for reference, or place one.

The Manton limit like all of the Entities' supposed hard rules this aborted Cycle was set up by Zion who is an unsubtle idiot. I find it hard to image that there are no ways around it.

@Alivaril is this some kind of high order command given to all Shards or just QA being a good little girl?

For the purposes of this quest, would it be relevant either way?

But no, the limitations/restrictions on shards are hard limits. Some limits may be bypassed/turned off during a second trigger, but that's not very likely to happen to QA, now is it? :drevil:

This is platinum level of halping comedy right here. QA seems to have a reputation among other Shards which makes QA!Taylor first human world interaction rather adorifying to an extent. Would be interesting to see what happens next.
