Omake: What if Coil was serious...(non-canon)
Oh dear, Coil got the angry one, but will be surprised if something else, like say Limbo or Nova or Rhino is used.
Oh yeah, that reminds me.

I have a non-canon Omake to give/torture you all with...

It's a little rough and I planned on tossing it because I decided to go a different direction, but I also hate wasting brain cells.

> Omake: What-if Coil was serious<

The deep bass humm of my Valkyr's limited shields failing was the first sign that I was under attack.

Ping!

A .50 caliber AP round punched through my shields and harmlessly bounced off my armored head, its lethal energy stopped by my shields.

A red dot appeared on my hud as my Sentinel automatically oriented itself toward the sniper.

An abandoned ten-story office building 500m away. My hud highlighted a dark window on the 9th story.

I was in the process of calling for my Archwing and my shields were at 10% when the sniper's muzzle flashed again. A second-round tried to punch into my chest. With my shields barely there, the second round put a respectable scratch in my armor. If I had been using my Ivara Warframe, it might have even caused minor damage.

Before the sniper could fire a third round, I shot 50m straight up and then, with a quick twist, pointed myself toward the sniper's position.

Zip, Zip! I did two back to back teleports, instantly closing to less than 100m from the abandoned ten-story office building and the window the sniper and his spotter were in the process of hastily backing away from.

It looked like they planned on retreating deeper into the building. Yep, not happening. Lethal force begets lethal force and I grinned as my shotgun's rapid staccato spoke for me. In less than a second, five glass rounds slammed into the room and exploded on impact.

I followed and dropped down to the floor with an audible crunch as my clawed feet crushed some of the glass shrapnel.

The sniper or the man with the sniper rifle clutched in his hands was screaming as the corrosive acid from my rounds hissed and sizzled against his flesh. His legs were hamburger and his buddy was thrashing around on his back as his chest and face smoked. While I hadn't aimed directly at either of the pair, an automatic shotgun firing 20mm rounds into a small room and exploding proved to be very effective at stopping the men who dared to try killing me.

I wasn't sure if their black military fatigues and bulky jackets were armored or not, I assumed they were, but compared to Grineer or Corpus armor, they didn't stand a chance. As I took in the scene, the spotter succumbed to his injuries and stopped struggling to remove his smoking gear.

They both had clear wires going to their ears and throat mics. I also spotted a web camera laying on the floor next to the spotter, but it was a shattered wreck. The pair were clearly being given orders and broadcasting what they saw to someone.

I needed one of them alive to interrogate.

"Ordis, can you identify their-"

{"Already done Taylor."}

Wow, Ordis had made huge improvements. I'd been trying for the last ten years to get him to use my name without success and he'd used it twice in less than one day. An icon appeared on my map at street level and one block away. {"The target's broadcasts are being intercepted at this location and additional broadcasts detected!"}

{"Shhhhck-Rolling! Alpha, tango on 9th floor. Breach in three, go, go, go! Charlie, provide cover, Bravo, circle-"}

I ran over to the other side of the building and poked my head out of the broken window. Below me, three black vans --how cliche-- rolled to a stop in the front of the building, disgorging seven heavily armed men wearing black fatigues. I guess I didn't need to waste an oh-shit can on the sniper.

While it would have been amusing to wait for the men to run up 9 flights of stairs, I decided to be nice and save them the effort. I dove out of the window performing a lazy flip and sticking a perfect three-point landing.

"Fuck!" One of the men screamed, "Light her up!"

A mix of lasers and submachine gun rounds zeroed in on my current position. My shields would've easily handled the low powered solid rounds and the lasers from one or two of them, but the concentrated fire of ten men quickly dropped my shields and started to tear into my armor in less than a second.

"Rawrrr!" I screamed my war cry. A wave of void energy washed over the men, slowing them to a snail's pace and speeding me up. They didn't stand a chance and I almost felt sorry for them, but they did attack me.

Thanks to Tattletale's little document on Coil, I knew there was only one person in Brockton Bay who armed his mercenaries with laser weapons.

"Ordis, please tell me that have the location of the asshole who ordered these guys to attack me."

~**~

It took surprisingly little effort to get one of his Merchant informants to leak the address of the warehouse containing a pallet of pseudoephedrine waiting shipment to a Medhall plant. Of course, there was no pallet, but the drugged idiots couldn't resist the juicy target and sent a group of men to recover the pallet. The dockworkers easily handled the first Merchant group, but the group led by Mush was a different story.

The addition of the Merchant Cape had the desired effect of drawing Tenno to the ambush location. Thomas was mildly shocked by how quickly the young Hebert arrived and the method of her arrival. A rocket backpack of some kind that also allowed her to teleport, how amazing! The drones she deployed to subdue the Merchants were also a pleasant surprise. The young Tinker would either work for him or would have to die.

Everything was going swimmingly for him. In the first timeline, he ordered the sniper and his spotter to simply watch. In the throwaway timeline, he ordered his sniper to take the shot. He had to know how hard she would be to kill if she refused to serve him.

The first shot barely fazed her, but the camera caught a flare of energy as what had to be some sort of energy shield was overloaded and failed. The second shot hit her center mass but barely left a mark on the girl's chest. Clearly, her armor was strong against ballistics and needed to be tested against his Tinkertech laser weapons. The rapid elimination of his sniper team was a mild surprise to him, but in light of Tenno's previous teleportation demonstration, not an unexpected result.

"All teams, Tenno is on the ninth floor. Horvath and Mitchel are down. Lethal force is authorized." Thomas transmitted his orders to the three squads of highly trained mercenaries standing by.

In the safe timeline, Thomas casually sipped from a cup of coffee as he watched the girl and the union men talking to the BBPD as the police arrested the unpowered drug addicts and waited for the PRT to take Mush off their hands. His tap into the PRT showed that the two squads with Assault and Battery were now five minutes from the scene.

In the second timeline, Thomas sat back in his command chair and peered intently at the multiple monitors displaying LZ from almost every angle in perfect, High-Definition clarity.

Now, it was time to see how long the young tinker lasted and how well her tech did against his highly skilled mercenaries. He felt confident in his men's abilities and the power of Tinkertech armaments. The underslung Lasers were powerful enough to cut through an inch of armor grade steel in less than a second and Thomas looked forward to causing the girl as much pain as possible before his men cut her out of her suit and exacting their revenge for killing their comrades.

That was when the timeline where he was sipping coffee abruptly ended, leaving him with the rapidly going to shit timeline.

"No, no, no! This can't be happening…" Thomas slammed his fists down on his desk as his safe timeline collapsed causing his temples to throb with pain. The monitors displaying the feeds taken from the helmet cams and vehicle dash cams in what was supposed to be his throw-away timeline showed his men being butchered by Tenno. Everything was going to plan until the bitch landed in front of his men and screamed.

It was worse than that. His men were already dead. She screamed and a shaker effect slowed his men while she effortlessly slaughtered them with the blades attached to her forearms. If he still had the safe timeline to fall back on, Thomas would've found the action fascinating to watch. Instead, it was horrifying how quickly and effortlessly he killed all of his men and all without firing a single shot. Heads, arms and torsos littered the battlefield and calling it a battlefield was disingenuous. It was like something from a fucking slaughterhouse.

Twenty-one men, three squads, all dead in less than five seconds.

Coil split the timelines again. In the newly designated safe timeline, he recalled the second strike team, ordered the base into lockdown, retreated to this office, locked the door and helped himself to his well-stocked liquor cabinet. Tenno was a fucking beast and he could not unsee how casually she had dismantled --literally-- three squads of expensive mercenaries.

In the second timeline, Coil remained in the command center and ordered the second strike team to engage Tenno at max range. The first few lasers struck true, scoring deeply into Tenno's armored flanks. She returned fire with a weapon that seemed to be some sort of high caliber flechette launcher or shotgun with explosive rounds. His men did not survive the experience and with a sigh of disgust, he ended the timeline.

Tenno was going to need a different approach. His Undersiders weren't going to be enough. They lacked the firepower needed to kill the girl. Coil opened his email program and began composing an email to Accord, requesting information on where he might acquire the services of a more offensive Cape team.

His strike team made it safely back to base and Coil was just beginning to relax when the breach alarms began to sound. He split the timelines.

In the first, he remained safely in his office as a blast door slammed closed and locked, sealing him into his office. The door was ten inches of battleship grade steel and would give even Alexandria pause. A pause long enough for Coil to easily escape via the secret backdoor built into his sanctum.

In the second, he ran back to the command center and took charge. Someone was attacking his base and that would not stand!

The cameras overlooking the outer door to his once, secret base showed what appeared to be a petite, impish girl or woman in blue Tinkertech armor with glowing fuchsia eyes. A pair of pistols on her hips and submachine gun with a prismatic paint job in her hands with a stubby, white and gold hovering drone of some kind strutted confidently up to the armored and locked outer main door to his heavily modified Endbringer shelter.

"Knock, knock, knock!" A girlish giggle sounded over the audio feeds just before the impossible happened and the door's electronic locks disengaged and the heavy, steel door began to swing open.

Mirage Prime because I imagine her power causing all kinds of problems with Coil's security systems and traps.

Okay, I'm gonna call bullshit on a simple .50 cal round making it through a warframes shield, let alone a freaking Archwing shield, considering the sheer neither of rounds they typically take and the caliber of those rounds, along with the average corpus weapon of choice being lasers. And that's not even getting into how archwings are built for space warfare with corresponding sized rounds and speeds for said combat. We're talking about combat where ARROWS are somehow accelerated to supersonic speeds and pierce through troopers more armored than master chief and proceed to pin them to the walls

The sentinel weapon flash freezing sounds about right though.

Probably some really dodgy build to blame. Or forgot to unequip a dragon key. Archwings are designed for space combat but doesn't mean tenno build them for it. The typical archwing build is entirely intended to getting around the plains of Eidolon as fast as possible with everything else being an afterthought.

Also Taylor is on vacation so maybe she swapped out some of the staple mods for utilities that typically never see use? It's not like she's expecting serious combat and worst comes to worst she can reasonably expect to get away with Transference spam against anyone she might face.

No I think his power is misinterpreting Taylor's warframe. It thinks that a .50 bmg is sufficient to kill Tenno. If Coil actually commited to the timeline the results will be very different.

Edit: Tenno'ed by the author.

The camera caught a flare of what had to be some sort of energy shield just as it was overloaded and failed. The .50-cal armor piercing round continued and punched a large hole through Tenno's helmet, causing her head to snap back. The distance was too far to get the bloody details, but based on past performance, Coil grinned as he imagined the small entrance wound and large exit wound, the annoying Tinker's brains exited at high velocity out the back of her helmet…

If the above is what you're referencing, then it was Coil's power not getting some details correct. Simulations using bad data result in bad results.

It's also a Valkyr and their shields are poor. Well, my build has maybe 200 shield strength. However; the armor is very high, like 1200'ish? Not sure exactly.

The Omake had a more accurate "what-if" on the shields and effects of a .50 cal Armor Piercing round. Well, what I think is more accurate anyway...

Now I just want to have it when Taylor does take on the Coil Assassination Contract, Thomas just watches in horror when all of his prior information turns out to be dead wrong. And when he splits the timeline again to escape, sitting in front of his escape tunnel is a copy of him with a message:

You really didn't think it was going to be that easy, did you Tommy?

Yeah was about to say. Valkyr might not have shields but if you build like a sane person she's got hella armor. I refuse to believe mass-produced tinker weapons or .50s would so much as scratch the paint on Valkyr.

Properly built valkyr is like 2000 armor multiplied a few times by warcry; I get mine up to 2400 without umbral mods.

Not exactly something armor piercing is much good against.

Im suprised that building had walls left after you popped off the Astila inside it. 1k + impact damage would not play nice with... anything.

Very nice valk tho.. looking at it makes me wana send you a cape.

This. Shitbags power is a hilarious case of "Garbage in, garbage out." Shitbag is also arrogant enough to think he's always in control, always has an out, and it always prepared.

Shitbag is also stupid enough to bevel it.

On the other hand, I do think a fifty will hurt Tenno, even more so if Shitbag has his men using specialized rounds. A fifty cal is a very big bullet, just below cannon grade by the way the military categorizes it. It's AP rounds are a danger to T-55's, and the normal rounds easily defeat a couple inches of steel. It is not something to be discounted. The kinetic impact alone would, in my honest opinion, have all but the heaviest Warframes reeling from a hit, especially one to the head.

What I find hilarious is that Battery honestly thinks that Hookwolf could so much as tickle Valkyr.

This begs the question of what an opticor could do given mine hits 24k radiation base damage with a shit riven. Miniature Bolo Hellbore gun maybe?

An ogris may even count as a low yield nuke there

And given archgun on foot is here now....yeah they haven't seen anything yet even with the look they got at the astilla

You did see the part where Valkyr gets taken out by a .50 cal? I may not like it, but the Author believes that if a 50 cal can pierce Valkyr, it might be even less effort for Hookwolf to end her.

Then again, there are revives and she isn't on her ult.
Not the author, Coil. This is explicitly Coil´s power screwing him over due to not having any data. So nah

You did see the omake of what would actually happen right? Valkyr rips straight through everything.

That was Coil power believe it could. The author himself had stated that.

Coil power is the ability to create 2 realistic simulations that he can commit to if he thinks it right. To bad none of Taylor Warfarmes are made with too much materials found on Earth. If they were then probably.

No, Coil's power thinks she can be taken out by a .50 cal. Remember that he isn't creating two different timelines and then traveling back into the past to select A or B. He's generating simulations that are normally very accurate due to the Shard's information. Here due to Void/Tenno technology being OCP to the shards, its giving him faulty results in which it creates the simulation saying X will happen but when he tries it IRL, Tenno simply gets annoyed.

Tayno left Origin before the Gravimag became a thing, so we won't be seeing her pull a Grattler on some nazis, sadly.

Hopefully when max finally does something stupid we'll at last get to see the PRT shit it's collective pants when Tayno decides it's Tenno'clock.

ADDITION: Stupid phone, "nazi" doesn't get a capital letter. Those denote importance.

With his intelligence mission a success, Coil wasted no time ending the timeline. He didn't even consider keeping the timeline, but the data gathered was priceless. Tenno was a threat to his plans, but one he was confident he could remove when the time was right.
Question: Does Tenno in your fic have the ability to revive?

What I find hilarious is that Battery honestly thinks that Hookwolf could so much as tickle Valkyr.

Valkitty needs her new plaything? I mena do keep in mind that the kitty using the edgy mutt as a toy would be hella amussing.

But, hey, Battery doesn't have the full scope of Taynno's skillset, or wardrobe, and even thinks those things are tinkertech! Ha! as if Awesome Orokin Science would be so plebian! where is the artistry in tinkertech? the casual violation of the laws of man and god? the despairing howls of the infected? and more importantly... THE BLING?

Hell, I even bet, by and large, Tinkertech doesn't fuel itself on the pain and sorrow of its victims!
