Prologue 7
(Fellowship test: d100+20(FEL-2)= 120. DC 70: Perfect Success! +120 EXP to Fellowship. +2 SL rank with Tyris)

His grin widens even further and he claps you on the shoulder. "Its good for brothers to be friendly with each other! I can only hope that this is a good sign of things to come."

Later, you are assigned to be with Tyris for your roommate. He looks pleased and greets you enthusiastically when you get some free time before sleep.

For the past half year, you have been very busy. You have been in the Reclusiam, training your ability to resist the warp...

(Willpower: 2d100*1.5=258.)

Which you succeed in greatly. You also train your skill at arms...

(Weapons Skill: d100=56.)

Grows by a noticeable margin. You also do some sparring with Tyris...

(d100+120(Lots-2) v d100+120(Lots-2)=203v153. Stupendous Success! +300 EXP. +200 EXP to all stats used in spar.)
(d100+120(Lots-2) v d100+120(Lots-2)=207v203. Success! +50 EXP. +10 EXP to all stats used in spar.)

In which you absolutely demolish him the first month. The second one, you have a much closer match, but you still edge out a victory. In your free time, you choose to make more explorations of the Monastery...

(d100=97)

And you find a very intriguing place within the monastery. When you were in the room, you felt more at peace and could focus more while there. That would be a great place to meditate!

(Gained Meditation room. Whenever training willpower, multiply by 1.5.)

Each Post will take place for 6 Months. You will have 6 actions per post.

Strength 2 to 3: 0/300 -> 200/300
Toughness 2 to 3: 100/300 -> 0/400. Toughness has risen to 3.
Agility 2 to 3: 0/300 -> 200/300

Fellowship 2 to 3: 15/300 -> 135/300

(AN: A few things to explain. Spars will involve every stat but Willpower and Fellowship unless Psyker powers are used. Therefore all stat bonuses would be used in the checks for them. Also, SLs will be a thing. They are mainly used to provide a boost to certain checks, like Tyris will boost Fellowship checks if he is around when they are made. Also, if no one guessed, Tyris is most certainly a Fellowship specced Character.)

We have six actions I only see five here

My plan is because I feel that we should always spend half of our actions training, the spar and the mediation and explore the monastery can open up bonuses that could increase training or lead to other events. The other two actions are because we should reach out to more then one person in the squad and we should look into each advanced position one at a time starting with the Chaplain as we chose a highly religious empire focused chapter.

[X] Plan always training
-[X] Explore the monastery
-[X] Train Willpower x2
-[X] Spar with a Neophyte Tyris
-[X] Meet another Neophyte (Sharp eyed boy) bring Tyris
[X] Observe a specialist Astartes
-[X] Which kind? (Chaplain)

Normally, I'd worry about focusing on one stat so much.
I'm not though, because not only is it critical in our specific situation if we want to use our powers effectively and not be turned inside out and into a gate to the warp...our stats aren't even that imbalanced right now, and we get some BIG boni to willpower growth at the present time.
I'll admit, though, I am curious about how high is high, with stats.

Like, what WP ratings would be expected of lexicani, codicieries, and epistolaries?
What WS skill is a Tactical Marine expected to have from their time as an assault marine?
ETC, ETC

A fully trained, 7 year's worth of training lexicani is to have 4-5 Willpower. Codiciers have 5-6, and Epistolaries have around 6-7.

Assault Marines have around 5-6 WS, While Tactical have 5-6 BS. Assault has 5 BS and Tactical 5 WS.

Wait, how do Assault marines manage to have higher WS than Tacticals, when you have to complete a term as an assault marine before you can become a tactical marine?
The typical space marine promotion pathway is scout->devastator->assault->tactical.
Though I guess if anyone were going to go for a training program that's rational enough to not waste carefully honed skill in heavy weapons operation on using a sword or firing a standard sized weapon, or to waste skill honed in swords/massive claws/POWER FIST on using a standard sized gun and a knife, but instead trains its marines as ranged specialists, melee specialists, and generalists from the beginning based on their talents demonstrated as a scout, it'd be a chapter with a rational method of identifying psykers during their early recruitment process.

Hm. I thought it was 'choose which kind of marine fits your fighting style the best'. Shows how much I know about this lore.

Well, in response to this information, Tac Marines now have 6-7 WS.

It's because a Space Marine is not expected to specialise. Or, rather, they're expected to specialise in everything.

Don't think of a Marine serving as a Devastator being a heavy weapons operator, but rather their first step on their progression as Space Marines where they stay relatively far back from the frontlines. Similarly for Assault Marines, they're being used as a quick reaction force, shock attack force and potentially reconnaissance, to hone their instincts and master their nerves during the hectic moments of close combat.

A Tactical Marine is not merely in the line of battle, he is the Only line of battle. If the Tactical Marine fails the Assault Marine gets overwhelmed and the Devastator Marine gets overrun. They are expected to do anything and everything, from serving fire support to leading the charge to flanking the enemy to sabotaging their advance to killing the commander to holding the line.

So out of curiosity, how is it supposed to work for Primaris in general, do they gain expierence in a similair system?

I have no idea. From the units we've seen so far they're far more specialised, with no singular 'Ramirez Do Everything' sort of unit with versatility in crunch or fluff, so its likely that Guiliman designed Primaris doctrine to resemble Legion doctrine more than Chapter doctrine. But theoretically nothing really stops any Chapter from utilising their Primaris Marines in the same traditional way.
