That said, since we're going the rigging route, it might be best to just grab destroyers or cruisers with lots of tubes if I want torpedoes. I'm not entirely sure what advantage Sub riggings give.

Subs are interesting in the Kancolle Game:
They soak up damage (Sub tanking) from CL, CVL, and DD abyssals (if you have them at a high enough level. They also get an opening torpedo attack, and a closing torpedo attack.

    Personality: Quiet, introverted and socially inept. Also struggles with suicidal depression. As a result she has a somewhat fatalistic outlook on things and a disregard for her personal safety. Regardless, she cares deeply for her friends and tries to do her best by everyone.

    Quirks: She loves Submarines and often wishes her frame could be fitted with torpedo launchers.

    Bio: Average upper-middle class university student. He was fully aware of his multiple weaknesses as a person and decided to do the right thing...Didn't get the peace he wanted and was instead reborn as a Ship-girl in a different world.

    Personality: Serious and determined. Takes her position as the youngest of the Littorio Sisters seriously and pushes herself and her unit-mates hard. Stiff and formal with those she doesn't know, but a friendly and calming counselor for her close friends. Makes sure Hoelun rises above her demons and the Countess doesn't overwork herself.

    Quirks: Aware of the poor accuracy of her main guns among BBs, she greatly enjoys shows of marksmanship. On a similar note, she is aware of her relatively light AA fire and often acts somewhat cooler with Carrier kanmusu.

    Personality: Despite her countenance, the Countess is actually the most approachable and least serious (relatively speaking) member of Battleship Unit NATO. While still slightly reserved and formal like her fellow unit-mates, she is friendly and helpful when truly engaged. The one that handles most of the 'paperwork' and tactics for the unit, she tends to overwork herself.

    Quirks: Has the lowest caliber main guns of all the BBs and is sometimes conscious of that, especially compared to the the Khatun's broadside. Has a running rivalry with the King George V-Sisters.

    Limit breaking is going to be my version of marriage in the Kancolle game (Where you can increase the max level of your Kantai Musume by marrying them)
    Requirements for limit breaking:
    Admiral and Kantai Musume must have an extremely strong bond.
     
    Oh dear, that would really depend on the players in question.

    Also glad to see my companions were accepted. Made some changes to my own character sheet to make it less depressing and more upbeat. I'm baffled as to how the Scharnhorst-class constitutes a 'battleship'. The one time they went up against a proper BB - King George V-class BB Duke of York - the Duchess solidly handed Scharnhorst her ass.
     
    Compared to say, the Deutschland? Definitely a full-fledged battleship. A bit of a lightweight, but it's what they could make at the time, considering time, treaty and political considerations.

    Fair point. Initially my battleship unit idea was to be focused on the Americas. Montana at the center, flanked by Argentina's dreadnaught and Brazil's battleship. But crucially neither had much AA protection and were thoroughly outdated. Britain, France and Japan all have impressive ships but the first and last of those three will be featured plenty in the story anyway. So I settled on the incomplete Impero and ho-hum career Gneisenau. An upgunned Battlecruiser taking the center flanked by a ship that was only half built and another that never left the design stage. Seems about right. >:3

    And on a side note, how many RPs are you in and are you actually an android? You seem to be in hundreds (I joke...) of RPs both here and over at SB and practically awake 24/7 to boot. :oops:
     
    Just a few RPs, and I do get a good night's sleep and afternoon naps...
