Hiruzen, Sakumo's Father Ringo, Mom, Danzo, Koharu Utatane, and about ten other Anbu ninja.

There are a bunch of A-Ranks who, while good, are no match for the Nine-Tails alone.

And most of the Konoha ninja force is still on high alert information warfare mode right now, so not all of the S-Rank Anbu are in the village.

Time skips are for when you are bored, when events are too thinly spread to keep the attention of the audience. Normally, yes, we are at the age where a skip would be sensible... but I don't really think we could call the past few months uneventful.

We have a new younger brother who will be dealing with even greater burdens than one of our clan already is destined to carry, the fact that the Hokage personally decided we needed the strategic-scale weapon that is a summoning contract in order to protect our brother, a mother who needs us to be strong for a change, a nascent conspiracy of clan up-and-comers who are bound together by blood, and the normal terrifying bullshit that an academy student from a half-butchered class can expect from their day to day existence.

And that is just us. Then we have the fact that the shinobi world is turning inside out politically and by graduation it might well not be recognizable. It will be more real if we see the changes happen.

While you are correct in that things are very eventful in the last couple of turns, things are going to be slowing down significantly for the next few votes (in Konoha at least), mostly because I think we need time to breathe so we can take stock of the situation, and so we can enjoy being a child.

...this seems kind of cruel to the fox, it's going to have to abide by having his name stolen from him by his host (well having his host called by his name but still)... wonder if that'll piss him off more?

Well the problem for him is, he does not know why we have the last name Kuruma. or if we even knew it was his name.

And if he were angry, there's nothing he can do about it.

...are you hinting that you've written a backstory to why the clan is named such... possibly the same reason as to why the clan has suitable hosts to the kyuubi... that does sound like something you'd do.

Pretty sure Hiruzen could have gotten him with the reaper death seal, since this is him in his early 20's rather then retired in his 60's.
Also shouldn't Kagami still be alive? Dude died at 25 and his peers (Danzo, Hiruzen, Koharu) should only be 24 right now.
