You're not exactly a typical child. Even discounting Nemesis, you're well aware that your knowledge of normal childhood is... woefully incomplete. Thankfully, you know someone who actually is a normal child, and you can probably turn to her in this.
You hope.
On Friday, you decide to spend time with Maiko. "Hey, Oohashi-chan, do you want to go to the library for a bit?" You ask. If she said no, you'd probably end up choosing her over Kurusu-san, but thankfully that doesn't end up becoming an issue.
"Okay," She agrees. "Do you have a test to study for or something?"
"Actually, I was thinking we could look through the books, and see if there's anything interesting." Or anyone. You don't know if he'll be here or not, but if he isn't, the library's open for a while after class ends, and you could probably learn a lot of things. "I found a really cool book earlier this week."
"Really? What was it about?"
"Cards." Maiko doesn't look very impressed. "I mean, special cards. You know, tarot."
"...What's tarot?"
"Some kind of fortunetelling," You shrug. "I don't know, I was more interested in the pictures on the cards." If you can sort people by Arcana, same as Personas... what would Maiko's be?
...You don't think you know her enough to figure it out yet. Maybe later.
Well. Library now, random bits of irrelevant symbolism later. That seems like a good way to do things.
"Amada-senpai, you're here today, too?" Kurusu-san seems rather surprised. "You're never here more than two days in a week."
"I just felt like reading some more," You say. It's not entirely true, but you are interested in seeing the kinds of books that are here. You get the feeling that if you want to be good friends with Kurusu-san, you'll have to do a lot of reading. "I brought a friend this time."
"Hello," Maiko greets him. "I'm Maiko Oohashi, from the first grade. Who are you?"
"...Akira Kurusu. Second grade. It's nice to meet you, Oohashi-chan." It sounds sort of robotic, the way he says it.
"...Oh, you're the one Amada-senpai said to talk to about the cat!" She realizes. "Was he really in your classroom?"
"Y-yeah, jumped through the window as soon as I sat down. ...So, are you looking for any books in particular, or...?"
"I was hoping you would have a suggestion," You tell him. "Failing that, I guess some more tarot books wouldn't hurt." After all, if you can use Arcana to categorize people and their Personas, and if it's apparently measurable... maybe it would help you help Shinjiro-san with whatever his problem is. Or, at least, to figure out what the problem is. You can't help him if you don't know that.
"Well, you know where those are... from what I saw before, you seem to be somewhat good with animals? There's books about pet care over this way..."
Over the course of the afternoon you more or less completely memorize the library's layout, and Maiko has started reciting more facts about ferrets than you'd ever wanted to know.
Kurusu-san is completely unapologetic for handing her that book. He's also pointing out little tidbits that she's missed, because apparently he's read it before. Despite what you were hoping, you haven't really learned a lot about him today, though it did help you realize one thing.
In order to get to know Kurusu-san better, you need a way to get him out of the library. Otherwise, he'll just hide himself behind the cover of another book, likely the giant book of fairytales from the top shelf, or the battered old copy of The Crystal Stopper that doesn't seem to have a place in any library at all with the shape it's in, but that he appears to be oddly attached to.
But he did hit it off with Maiko, sort of, so that's one of your goals complete either way. Not quite the one you were hoping for, but whatever works.
You don't really have time to dwell on it, anyway. Tomorrow's Saturday. That means you need to go to the SEES dorm to see the results of your scan. Something you've been waiting for all week.
But now you realize that there's a decent chance they'll find something odd about the scans even if there's nothing wrong with you. This could be a problem.
...You're sure it'll be fine. They probably won't notice anything at all, and it's not like they have a lot of points of comparison. No reason to worry about it.
It's actually Saturday now, and you're starting to wonder if maybe you should have thought of an idea after all. "Amada-kun," Kirijo-san greets you as soon as she opens the door. "You're earlier than usual today."
You shrug. "I'm just really excited, I guess." And nervous.
"I suppose you would be. Now, you could go over the results with the rest of us here, or you could take them with you to figure out yourself... if you think you can. It's... fairly complex." She gestures at the table, which has a large folder stuffed to bursting with papers. That... looks like it would take a while to go through, whether you had help or not.
[ ] Go over the results with Kirijo-san's help.
[ ] Take the folder back to your dorm and work through it there.
